Nigerian dancehall singer and songwriter, Cynthia Morgan, has expressed her disapproval with women who call themselves “Kings”.

Taking to her Instastory, Cynthia said she doesn’t like it when women refer to themselves as Kings, because they obviously don’t understand the kind of power Queens wield.

It’s no news that some female celebrities, including actress cum politician, Tonto Dikeh, describe themselves as “Kings” to emphasize their influence and dominance.

She wrote,

“I have never seen the beauty in females calling themselves kings. If only you know how powerful it’s to be a queen.”

A while back, Cynthia Morgan gave up her lifelong dream of winning a Grammy award to become a prophetess.

The artiste recently claimed in a post that she was a prophetess by birth, but her family had always disputed it.

She claimed that growing up in a Jehovah’s Witness household where it was believed that they were no prophets was hard for her.

Cynthia revealed that she ignored her gift until she was 25, and that was when she realized she was going nowhere.

In her words;

Veteran Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus, has shared lovely pre-wedding pictures with her beau.

The 37-year-old, who announced news of her engagement on her official Instagram page on Saturday, December 31, took to her Instagram page this morning to unveil her fiancém however concealing his face.

Recall that Nkiru in December had posted a photo of her engagement ring and wrote, “It is what it is.”

Well, as they count down to the D-day, the actress released their pre-wedding photos on her Instagram page.

Pastor fakes own kidnap, collects N600,000 ransom from members

A Jos-based pastor, Albarka Bitrus Sukunya, has been arrested by operatives of the Plateau State Police Command after he staged his kidnapping to get money from his congregation.

Sukunya was arrested alongside his collaborators following intelligence reports after church members paid a N600,000 ransom to secure his release.

The Plateau State Police Command’s spokesman, Alabo Alfred, who confirmed Sukanya’s arrest in a statement on Wednesday, January 11, revealed that the clergyman confessed to the crime during the interrogation.

“The Plateau State Police Command has again uncovered the nefarious act of one pastor Albarka Bitrus Sukuya ‘m’ of Jenta Apata, Jos who on several occasions staged his kidnap with his cohorts and receive ransom from sympathizing members of his congregation.

“Sequel to his spurious kidnaps of 14/11/2022 and 30/11/2022 where the sum of Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N400,000) and Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) were respectively paid by his sympathizers as ransom for his release, the incidents triggered suspicion.

“Through credible intelligence, the clergyman was invited by the DPO Nassarawa Gwong Police Station, CSP Musa Hassan, and investigation commenced immediately. In the course of investigation, it was established that the suspect has been conspiring with his gang to stage his kidnap and fraudulently collect ransom.

“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to have committed the crime and mentioned the following persons as his accomplices : (1) Baruk Mailale, (2) Nathaniel Bitrus both males of Yelwan Zangam village of Jos-north and (3) Aye (surname yet to be known) ‘male of Jalingo, Taraba State.

“The suspect further disclosed that on 04/01/2023, he set ablaze two motor vehicles ( a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota) and a bicycle parked at ECWA Bishara 3 Jenta Apata premises belonging to his colleagues who he alleged one of them hates him, referring to his senior pastor.

“However, police operatives of Nassarawa Gwong Division, Jos-north LGA arrested two (2) of the suspects namely, Baruk Mailale and Nathaniel Bitrus while effort is been intensified to arrest Aye, the third suspect.” The statement read.

Big Brother Naija season 7 winner, Phyna Otabor, has revealed why she terminated two pregnancies at the ages of 19 and 24 respectively.

She explained the reason behind her decision in a recent interview with PUNCH, days after she received heavy backlash for publicly saying she has had two abortions.

According to her, she choose to terminate the first pregnancy at 19 because she was too young and couldn’t tell her parents about it.

She said she aborted the second pregnancy at 24 because she didn’t want to have a child with her then-boyfriend because he was physically abusive and toxic.

The 25-year-old star said,

“As for my reasons for taking abortion pills, if there are 100 women in Nigeria today, 98 have done abortions. So, no one should judge me. I was in a 12-year relationship then and I was so young. The first abortion was when I was 19; I couldn’t go home to tell my parents that I was pregnant at that age. And the two pregnancies were so early like two to three weeks that I could just use tablets. The second was when I was 24, and I had finished serving then. I was ready to keep it but the relationship was getting toxic. He abused me and always beat me up. I said to myself that I couldn’t do this anymore, so I took it out and that was how I ended the relationship.”

When the interviewer asked if she would consider getting an abortion if she gets pregnant in her current state and status, Phyna said,

“Why would I do that? The way I am now, I have money to take care of 10 children, so why? In fact, if my parents were rich at the time of my first pregnancy, I wouldn’t have aborted it. But because I knew I was from a very poor background, we used to eat once a day then, especially in the afternoon and then carry it till the next day. So, keeping the baby then, was no option for me.”

Speaking further, the Edo-born hype priestess said that she has pleaded with God for forgiveness because she knows abortion is a sin, and believes he has forgiven her.

“In the face of God, it’s a sin and I have prayed and gone for confession. I am Catholic and I know God has forgiven me. It is what God says that counts. I don’t care what anybody thinks or says. I am not proud of committing abortion but the situation surrounding it was what I couldn’t help. For me, I do not see the essence of bringing children into this world when you are not ready. So, it’s either you abstain from sex, use protection or when it happens; you are either ready to chest the baby or take it out, especially when the situation is beyond you. Everybody has their own purpose behind their actions, just that there are some who are not scared of committing abortions at all, which is not good.”

The grieving mother posted a photo she took with her son when he was alive and mourned his untimely demise, but she didn’t disclose the cause of his death.

In the heart-wrenching post that has gone viral, the mother asked how she’s supposed to bid her son goodbye now that he’s gone.

Budding Disc Jockey, Tolani Baj had a mild altercation with on-air personality, Oluwapelumi Orungbe, better known as N6, after he critiqued her work on Twitter recently.

The reality TV star, who recently began her disc jockey career, had taken to the micro-blogging platform to post a video of her mixing some songs together.

A young Nigerian man has caused a stir after he shared his criteria for choosing a wife.

The man, identified as Mazi Ifeanyi, said in a post via his Twitter handle that a woman he will marry will have to stay with his mother or sister to learn how to prepare his food.

According to him, this is an important criteria because he’s selective when it comes to food.

Speaking further, he averred that the marriages of older generations lasted longer because the women treated their husbands like “kings” and worshipped them.

“I’m quite selective when it comes to the food I eat. Any woman I would marry would have to go stay with my mum or sister for like 4 months to learn how to prepare my food and know my preferences…. Any woman who isn’t ready to learn from my mum can’t be my wife !!!” he tweeted

A video of Nigerian superstar singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, teaching his son Zion to eat a Nigerian dish has gone viral.

In the video that captured the adorable father-son moment, the superstar singer is seen slowly devouring the food, which looked like fufu, while his son Zion, who was seated next to him, imitated him.

Wizkid cut a small morsel of the fufu with his hand, dipped it in the bowl of soup that was beside it, and then put it in his mouth.

Little Zion attempted to do the same as he observed his father with intense curiosity.

On-air personality, Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, popularly known as Do2dtun, has explained why many people, including celebrities, lie about their age.

He shared this in an apparent reaction to the online drama that ensued after Big Brother Naija star, Chichi, celebrated her 23rd birthday on Tuesday, January 10.

Many people didn’t believe that that she is 23 and accused her of reducing her age. Some online investigators even dug up throwback photos of Chichi taken during her matriculation ceremony in 2014, to back their claims that she’s older than 23.

Taking to his Twitter page to speak on the never-ending age discourse, the 38-year-old MC said many people prefer to lie about their age because Nigerians are naturally ageists.

He said Nigerians have formed the habit of age-shaming and stigmatizing people based on their age, which has forced many to lie about their real age.

“It was only once I hit my wife” – Man accused of beating wife to death over bread speaks

A Nigerian man, Wilson Ndubuisi Uwadiegwu, who was accused of beating his wife, Ogochukwu Uwadiegwu Anene, to death, has reacted to the allegation.

Ndubusi was alleged to have beaten his wife, a young mother of five, to death over a loaf of bread in their home in Anambra.

According to the deceased’s brother, Chukwuebuka Anene, Ogochukwu had asked her husband for money to buy bread for the family, but he said he had no money.

He said she then used her money to buy bread for the family, only for her husband to enter the kitchen where she had kept the bread and finish the whole loaf, leaving nothing for the children.

He further claimed that when Ogochuckwu confronted Ndubusi for finishing the bread without keeping any for their children, he allegedly beat her up with his fists and a mirror.

“That led to an argument between the couple which later resulted in a fight. In the process, the man hit his wife with a mirror and beat up his 14-year-old son who was trying to settle the fight. She called to complain about feeling unwell while crying on the phone. After examination, Doctors stated that her muscle had torn and that she had internal bleeding, and she was referred to University Teaching Hospital, Enugu State but on getting to the hospital she died.” He narrated.

Finally breaking his silence on the allegation in an interview with BBC News, Wilson admitted that he had an argument with his wife over bread but insisted that he didn’t have a hand in her death.

He said that he didn’t beat Ogochukwu as claimed, and he also provided the money for the bread, but his wife asked for more things he couldn’t afford.

Reacting to claims that his marriage to Ogochukwu was plagued with domestic violence, he said he only beat her once, and that was a long time ago.

“It was then that my wife began to abuse me, saying all sorts of things. I got angry, and I broke a mirror that injured my wife’s hand that moment. I beat up my son because he joined his mother to insult me. It was only once I hit my wife, and it’s been a long time. I was in the village when they called me to say my wife wasn’t well, I came back home and took her to the hospital where she was later confirmed dead.” He said.

A video that captures the moment popular business mogul, Obi Cubana, complained bitterly after an Arab man refused to leave his Live session has gone viral online.

Obi Cubana and his wife, Ebele, went live on TikTok recently to chat with their followers and gave some fans the opportunity to converse with them personally.

During the live, Ebele accepted an Arab man’s request to speak with them, but things took a different turn when the man refused to exit the chat.

In the viral clip, Ebele was seen appreciating the man for joining the call and bade the man goodbye but he simply acknowledged the appreciation and kept repeating the phrase, “I’m fine, thank you”.

Though it’s not clear if the man doesn’t fully understand English language, he kept saying the words over and over again.

The call got very awkward and Ebele had to hand the phone over to her husband to handle the Arab man. However, he still continued repeating his initial statement, and even asked for the country Obi Cubana comes from.

At this point, Obi Cubana was already fed up of the man’s action and proceeded to vent his frustration in Igbo language.

A South African woman has taken to TikTok to reflect on her life ahead of her 31st birthday in two weeks.

The divorced mother of two, identified as @ediemac28, said she will turn 31 soon and has not achieved anything worthwhile in her life.

She said she does not have a well-paying job, neither does she have a car or a house to her name.

According to her, she might be pretending that everything is fine on social media, but deep down she’s not happy.

She further disclosed that the father of her two children does not support them financially or emotionally, and she’s been charged with the sole responsibility of taking care of the kids.

She however noted that she believes everything will eventually turn out well because she’s trusting the process.

In the video she shared, she wrote,

“Pretending to be okay, meanwhile I’m turning 31 after 2 weeks, no house, no car, no stable job, divorced with two kids, baby daddy not supporting the kids, but I’m trusting the process.”

A viral video has captured the terrifying moment the rear door of a Russian aircraft suddenly sprang open soon after takeoff.

The plane carrying 25 people, including six crew members, took off from Magan in the Siberian region of Yakutia at minus 41°C, when the rear door opened, causing the passengers to fear for their lives.

The now-viral clip, which was shared online by one of the passengers, clearly showed the visible gaping rear door on the plane.

The door, used to load cargo and luggage, is normally curtained off from the passengers at the back of the plane. However, the curtain can be seen blowing in the wind in the viral video.

The man filming the nightmare is heard swearing in shock at the open door behind him.

Following the incident, the pilot made a quick emergency landing at Magan in the Siberian region of Yakutsk. All passengers aboard the plane were reported “safe.”

A report said, “Fortunately, the 25 people on board, including the crew, were unharmed. Only the caps off some people’s heads flew into the white void.”

Recounting the quite scary incident, one of the passengers said, “A man sitting at the rear of the plane was nearly blown away.” He had just unfastened his seat belt. And he was almost blown out of the plane.

A Nigerian man residing abroad identified as Tobi has expressed gratitude for the Nigerian educational system and the degree he acquired.

Tobi took to the microblogging platform to share how his computer science degree, which he had earned in Nigeria before being transferred, had opened doors for him since his move.

President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that he was an orphan from a young age and didn’t know his father.

The president in a speech delivered on Tuesday, January 10, at an APC campaign rally in Damaturu, Yobe State, said that he did not know who his father was and that he had spent nine years at a boarding school getting the knowledge he needed to enroll in the Nigerian Army.

Addressing the crowd in Hausa, he said;

Veteran Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye has shared she always had low self-esteem while growing up and expressed how it affected her and caused her to wet the bed as a teenager.
