Veteran Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku has declared that he will run for Nigeria’s president, the highest office in the nation.
Hanks made this statement after a frightening video surfaced of a man who shared a striking resemblance with him wandering the streets in torn clothing, raising anxiety from fans and well-meaning Nigerians.
His coworker Shan George had spoken out to refute claims that he is mentally unwell and uploaded a video and pictures showing the two of them working on a set in Asaba. Additionally, it was said that he was portraying a “crazy king” in the film.
The actor told Nigerians in an interview with Premium Times on Friday, November 18, that he is wise, powerful, and wealthy.
In his words;
“I will never be what they say I am because I am more significant than that. I am in Asaba at the moment, and I’m doing ok. I am alive, sane, strong, blessed and wealthy. I will be contesting as President of Nigeria”
Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has revealed that he doesn’t use social media anymore because people abuse the “hell” out of him.
Tinubu stated this in a video making rounds on social media during a meeting presumed to be a political campaign event.
According to him, he stopped checking social media apps because he’s constantly trolled, ridiculed and mocked online which stresses him out and increases his blood pressure.
He said sometimes his children and workers show him posts about him on social media and when he’s had enough, he tells them to stop.
”I don’t read social media anymore, they abuse hell out of me. If I read it, I get high blood pressure, I get angry. I don’t read it.
If I want to hear anything, my children or any of my workers will tell me this one said this. If I am tired I say please forget it.”

A 20-year-old man identified as Ekenedilichukwu Okeke has been detained by the Anambra State Command for allegedly killing his 54-year-old stepmother Mrs. Theresa Okeke for N1 million.
According to reports, the deceased, a National Population Commission (NPC) accountant, was found strangled to death on September 28, 2022, at her home in No. 4 Umuziocha, the state capital of Awka.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng Echeng, presented the suspect and his three accomplices before the state police headquarters in Amawbia on Friday, November 18, 2022. He claimed that Ekenedilichukwu conspired with his accomplices to kill the woman in order to withdraw N1 million from her bank account.
According to the commissioner;
“One Mrs. Theresa Okeke, aged 54 years, an Accountant with National Population Commission, Awka, was murdered in her residence at Number 4, Umuziocha, Awka. Immediately the case was reported, her stepson, Ekenedilichukwu Okeke, aged 20 years, who slept in the same house with the deceased, was arrested for interrogation.
He claimed that armed robbers stormed their residence and killed his stepmother. However, after an intelligence-based interrogation, he eventually confessed to the crime and named his accomplices.
Detectives from State CID, Awka, swiftly mobilized in search of the accomplices which led to the arrest of three additional suspects, namely; Peter Jideofor, aged 23 years, Chukwuemeka Christopher, aged 29 years and Chisom Emmanuel Dike, aged 22 years.
They have all confessed to the crime and disclosed that it was the deceased’s stepson who contracted them to come and kill the deceased to enable them transfer the sum of N1 million from her account, having known her phone password. The suspects will soon be charged to court”
The stepson claimed during his procession that he had to recruit friends to help him perform the act after the deceased, who had been helping him pay his expenses, ordered he leave her residence due to a misunderstanding.
In his words;
“I finished writing JAMB and was doing some menial jobs to enable me raise money for my university fees. I also worked for NPC 3 months ago. I had misunderstanding with my mom, along the line and she scolded me. I pleaded with her, thinking she’s forgiven me. But the next day she asked me to leave the house. I called my dad and elder brother to inform them of the development but my dad didn’t pick. It was my brother who picked that I told what happened
After, I called my friends to help me get money from my mom so I can use it for my fees ahead of my admission. Along the line, she collapsed and slumped. I’m very remorseful and praying God to have mercy on me and the government to forgive me.”
According to one of the conspirators, musician Peter Jideofor, who admitted to tying the dead woman’s lips shut as she tried to scream, they wouldn’t have killed her if she had given them her pin number.
He said;
“He told me he had an issue with his step mother that I should help him extract N1m from her. It was around 2am, with my other guys. We tied her hands and feet. When she wanted to shout, I personally tied her mouth. In the process, she stopped breathing. It was at that point I left because my mission was not to kill. When I was leaving, I told the guy to keep checking on her every 30minutes.
But it was in the morning she told us that she’s dead. All of us were in shock and fled, but I stayed indoors until the day I was arrested. I must confess that I didn’t plan to kill her. I feel very guilty. This is my first time. I’m 24 years. We had planned to do transfer but she refused to provide the pin number.”

A 17-year-old, allegedly kept captive in a goat cage by her aunt for more than a week in Rikkos, Jos North Local Government Area of the state, has been rescued by the Plateau State Police Command.
She was saved after a neighbor notified Jos’ National Human Rights Commission, who then called the police.
According to The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the aunt was always abusing and starving the girl, who was an orphan.
On Friday, November 18, 2022, Mrs. Grace Pam, the Plateau coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission, issued a statement confirming the girl’s rescue.
In her words;
“The commission received information from an anonymous complainant that the girl was locked up on the balcony of a house by her aunt. She was living with her grandmother before she came to the aunt’s house because the grandmother was ill and could not continue to care for her.
The complainant alleged that the aunt traveled for close to a week and left the girl without food. Investigation revealed that the girl was truly malnourished and had scars on her hands, neck, and other parts of her body.
The marks resulted from incessant beatings she received from her aunt. The matter was reported to the police where the aunt’s statement was taken upon return from her trip.
The girl has been provided with temporary shelter until she recovers. We also found out that the orphan girl was never allowed to go out, but was locked up in the house and not fed. She has been taken to hospital by one of our partners to ensure proper medical care”
Pam lamented the recent rise in incidents of child abuse and appealed with citizens to stop abuses, pointing out that “as we speak, there is a case of another victim, a nine-year-old girl, who came to stay with her aunt barely two months ago. We had to rescue her on Thursday from her aunt; she beat her mercilessly, but thank God, she did not get her blind, but got her injured in the eye. We took her to the hospital on Friday with scars resulting from serious beatings.
When our staff went there, she was locked up in a zinc house where the aunt keeps her goats. The girl is looking forward to going back to her parents” she said.

A married woman has cried out online after her husband, whom she had forgiven his infidelity eleven times, assaulted her and is now threatening to end their marriage after he recently caught her cheating.
The lady who shared her predicament on a relationship therapy platform said she had forgiven her husband all eleven times she caught him cheating—even when he had an affair with her cousin.
However, he just discovered she cheated on him during a weekend getaway with her female friends, and he isn’t taking the matter lightly.
She said that during the outing, things got out of hand at some point, and she and another female friend had a foursome with two other guys they met there.
She revealed she and the friend had chatted about their tryst on WhatsApp, and she had forgotten to delete the chat, which led to her husband finding out.
The wife said that when her husband, who had also been unfaithful in the marriage, found out she had cheated on him, he assaulted her and threatened to divorce her on the grounds of her infidelity.
“My husband saw the chats and he assaulted me. I moved out of our bedroom since that day. I’ve been called to three family meetings so far. He’s threatening to leave. I don’t understand why because I forgave him when he cheated with 11 girls including my cousin”.
Nigerian clergyman, David Adeoye has queried why women are made to feel solely responsible for infertility in marriages.
Adeoye, while preaching during a recent sermon in his church, questioned why only women come out in church for fertility prayers.

The singer, who was on tour and recently returned to Nigeria, made this disclosure in a video he shared on social media, explaining why he decided to sack all the staff at his Zeh Nation studio.
According to him, he was out of the country for over a month, and on his return, the studio staff claimed to have only made N7,000 in his absence.

A Nigerian woman, Beatrice Mbari, has called for justice after she was allegedly beaten to pulp by her husband following a disagreement with his mistress in Rivers State.
Mbari, a mother of five who recalled the incident in a chat with Punch, said trouble started when her son confronted her husband’s alleged lover, simply identified as Helen, who later reported the confrontation to her husband.
This infuriated her husband, who, as soon as he arrived home, began to act violently and attacked her. Beatrice alleged that he beat her mercilessly, dragged her around the kitchen, and then threw her out of the house.
She further reveled that this was not the first time he was battering and assaulting because of his lover.
“My husband beat me and damaged my face. He punched me in the eye. I can’t even see clearly. He dragged me in the kitchen and said he will kill me and nothing will happen.
“I was pleading with him to leave me. I asked him what I did. It was one of my neighbour that came to rescue me. He even drove her away. He stripped me and threw me outside. Since then, I and my children have been managing with my elder sister. That was why I arrested him yesterday.” She said.
She said the matter was reported to the Central Police Station at the old Port Harcourt township, and the husband has now been arrested.
“I asked his girlfriend, Helen, why she told my husband what my son said about his father. I don’t know what the girlfriend told him. Because when he returned from her house, he started beating me. Helen is the reason my husband wants to kill me and my children, so that she will control the family.” She said.
Beatrice, whose both eyes were visibly swollen and had bruises below her eyes and ears as well as on other parts of her body, called on the International Federation of Women Lawyers to come to her aid.
“I want FIDA to come and help me so that this thing will not happen again. Then let him take care of his children. I don’t want to stay with him, because he will kill me one day. I also thank the police that helped me to arrest him,” she added.

Reality TV star and entertainer, Cross Okonkwo, has said he will forgive his wife if she cheats on him with another man.
Cross stated this while reacting to a video of a man who caught his pregnant wife in bed with another man, said to be her pastor.
A video that captures the moment he caught them red-handed on their matrimonial bed surfaced online on Thursday, November 18, and it has caused quite a stir on the internet.
In an apparent reaction to the trending clip and accompanying discourse about infidelity in marriage, Cross took to Twitter to say personally, he will pardon his wife if she engages in the act in her lover’s house or an hotel room.
However, the deal breaker is if she invites her lover to their matrimonial home and sleeps with him on their bed. According to him, if she does that, he won’t be able to forgive her and would end their marriage after the incident..
The 31-year-old star tweeted, “And by the way if she does it in his house or hotel room. And I really LOVE her. I will forgive her. But on our bed 🛌. In our house 🏡 I’m sorry I’m not forgiving oo. she’s going . Otilo”
His tweet has sparked mixed reactions from his followers and he took time out to respond to some of the comments. He explained that he will forgive his wife because nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes.
Big Brother Naija season 7 star, Sheggz, has openly claimed his lover, fellow reality star Bella, as his wife.
The professional footballer who met and started a relationship with Bella during the level-up season of the show, during an Instagram live session with season 7 winner Phyna, declared that he’s only got eyes for Bella.
Phyna had teased Sheggz during the live session about “looking sweet for them girls,” to which Sheggz replied that he’s only looking good for his ‘wife’, Bella.
“Which girls? for my wife o abeg. Bella is my wife”, he told Phyna.
Phyna, in turn, responded that she meant Bella, because Bella is enough to be referred to as “girls.”

The ex, Bemi had claimed with proof during the reality show that she dated Sheggz and he was an abusive partner.

Bella, however, declared that she wouldn’t be affected by the expose’s disclosures of her relationship with the football player.

A Nigerian lady was left bamboozled after receiving a brand new iPhone 14 Pro Max from a complete stranger she met on Instagram.
A video making rounds online captures the moment she took delivery of the new phone and she couldn’t believe her eyes.
Speaking in the video, the lady said the guy reached out to her on Instagram and upon their first conversation offered to upgrade her phone to an iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Just recently, Nigerian superstar singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, reacted after his ex-girlfriend, Stefflon Don, threw a shade at him.
Stefflon Don, whose over two-year relationship with the self-styled African giant ended in 2021, appeared to mock her ex-lover in a video she shared on TikTok yesterday, November 10.
In the video, Steff was seen dancing energetically to a TikTok sound with the caption, “When he is a man and not a mummy’s boy,” insinuating that she would be overjoyed if she met a prospective suitor who was not a mummy’s boy.
Fans concluded that the video was an attack on Burna, who is being managed by his mother, Bose Ogulu, and he has now reacted.
Reacting to the shade, Burna took to his insta-stories and simply told Stefflon Don to move on.
A Nigerian woman, Mrs Nnamaka Nwachukwu, has been arrested by operatives of the Plateau State Police Command for allegedly torturing an 11-year-old girl, Margaret Joshua, to death in Jos.
The suspect, who works as a microbiologist at the National Veterinary Research Institute, Vom (NVRI) Plateau, was accused of forcing the minor to sit in a bowl of hot water, causing severe injuries in her buttocks and private part.
Mrs Nwachukwu, a resident of K-Vom, Jos south LGA, was also said to have tortured and inflicted injuries on the minor until she gave up the ghost.
Spokesman of the police command, Alfred Alabo, who confirmed the incident on Thursday, November 17, said the minor escaped from her hometown in Kebbi state over insecurity and was brought to Jos by a ‘helper’ who gave her out as a maid to the suspect.
However, the suspect started beating her at the slightest provocation and refused to register her in school despite promising to sponsor her education.
Grace Pam, coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Plateau, said the injuries on the minor’s corpse is consistent with that of torture but the suspect claims the girl fell into a bowl of hot water and ran away from home for 24hrs.

Pam further revealed that the girl was found in a building (pictured below) and was taken to the police station before she was rushed to a hospital where she passed away few hours later.
“Our attention was called about the situation on Monday, by a staff of the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), who said that an 11-year-old girl had been seriously beaten up and injured by her guardian,” Pam said.
“On getting to the hospital, we saw several old and new scars, and injuries on her entire body. We were told that she was taken to Mandela hospital in K-Vom, but was referred to JUTH due to the severity of her wounds.
“When we met the suspect at the police station where she was initially detained, she claimed that the girl used to masturbate, and so she was beating her to serve as punishment to make her stop.
“She claimed she did not know what used to come over her each time she beats the girl because she quickly regrets it after the act.
“The suspect also claimed that the deceased fell into hot water after which she ran out of the house and did not return for almost 24 hours.”
Meanwhile, the police are still investigating the case and will charge the suspect to court soon.
Nigerian dancer and singer, Korra Obidi, has reacted after she was dragged to filth over an unclad photo she posted on her Instagram page.
Korra, who’s currently going through a divorce with her American husband, Justin Dean, left little to the imagination as she bared her body in a photo she posted on her page announcing her new music.
The mother of two poses sensually in the photo, backing the camera, with just a sliver of fabric covering her butt.
In no time, the photo sparked a rush of criticism. Many Nigerians on the platform chided Korra for posting such a photo online despite being a mother.

Veteran Nollywood star, Hanks Anuku has finally broken his silence on the discourse about his mental health on social media.
Recall that Hanks was recently in the news after a disturbing video of a man, who bears a semblance to him, was spotted roaming the streets in tattered clothes, sparking concern from fans and well-meaning Nigerians.
Following which his colleague, Shan George, came out to debunk speculations that he’s mentally unstable and shared a video and photos of herself and Hanks working on a movie set in Asaba. It was also alleged that he’s playing the role of a ‘mad king’ in the movie.
However, some Nollywood actresses, Adanma Luke and Iheme Nancy, insist that Hanks is unwell and people in Asaba can attest that he is not okay.
