A Nigerian Twitter user has cried out after he mistakenly transferred N130,000 to a cab driver instead of the N1,300 he was charged.
According to the young man known on the microblogging platform as @hensennygold1, he booked the ride using a popular ride-hailing app in Lagos. The driver arrived in no time and conveyed him to his destination.
On arriving at his destination, his bill was N1300, so he opted to pay by bank transfer. However, he mistakenly paid N130,000 into the cabbie’s account instead of the N1,300 that was charged.
Taking to Twitter, he disclosed that all efforts to reach him so he could make a refund had proved abortive.Ā
In an updated tweet, he revealed that the cabman had transferred the money from the account to another account. He also added that the cabman’s deliberately turned off his phone, making it impossible to reach him.

A man who reportedly hid his cousin’s UK visa days before he was to relocate out of Nigeria to study, is said to have confessed 20 years after the incident.
Twitter user, @Lady_itohan, took to the micro-blogging platform to share this story in reaction to the trending conversation about people who became extra cautious after securing their visas to travel abroad.
Some disclosed that they reduced their movement and stopped going out for fear of dying in an accident. Others narrated how they safeguarded their travel documents and refused to tell any soul where they kept it.
Reacting, Lady Itohan stated that their paranoia is justified because not everyone would be happy that they are leaving the country in search of greener pastures.
She went on to reveal that her uncle’s visa disappeared few days before his trip and the culprit who happened to be his cousin, confessed to stealing it 20 years later after battling a strange illness.
According to her, her uncle is almost 80-years-old now but the incident killed his dreams.

Billionaire businesswoman, Folorunsho Alakija has addressed the perceived misconception about the Bible’s instruction for wives to submit to their husbands.
Preaching in her church recently, the clergyman stated that many men have abused the word ‘submission’ in Ephesians 5:22 and used it to control their wives.
According to her, many of these men have chosen to ignore the subsequent verses which admonishes couples to submit one to another, and asked husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the Church.
She noted that submission is supposed to be reciprocated and not use as a control measure for men to get their wives to do their biddings.
Her words,
“We find that husbands don’t want to concern themselves with verse 21 which says submit to one another but they chose to camp with wife submit to your husbands. But they didn’t go further down to go and read verses 25 and 26 which tell husbands more about what they are supposed to do,” she said.
“You find that Verse 21 was shorter but many have chosen to ignore it. There have been many arguments for and against, many controversies about this word submission. Many have twisted it to suit what they desire. Many husbands have used it as a control measure. That’s not what it is meant for. In fact, it is for unity and not for control.”

Nigerian dancer, Korra Obidi, has disclosed that some people have accused her of abusing her children and have reported her to child protective authorities.
The mother of two, who’s currently going through a divorce with her American husband, Justin Dean, made this revelation during a live session, while addressing her accusers.
Korra stated that the individuals had reported her to the child protective service on multiple occasions, and that the agency has visited her apartment for an inspection.

One Ajibola Akindele, 30, was on April 18th apprehended by men of the Ogun state police command for allegedly forcefully having carnal knowledge of a 20-year-old girl right inside a church.
A statement which was released by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi revealed that the suspect was apprehended following a report lodged at Lafenwa divisional headquarters by the mother of the victim, who revealed that she sent her daughter to go and decorate a church at Ita oshin area of Abeokuta together with the suspect on the 16th of April 2022.
“On getting to the church, they met some other women who came to sweep the church in preparation for Sunday service. But soon as those women left after sweeping the church, the suspect allegedly took advantage of being alone with the victim and forcefully had an unlawful carnal knowledge of her right inside the church.
Upon the report, the DPO Lafenwa division, CSP Kayode Shadrach, detailed his detectives to go after the suspect and bring him to justice. He said the detectives quickly moved into the scene and promptly arrested the suspect who have since confessed to the crime.” the statement read
Oyeyemi went on to add that the state commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the anti-human trafficking and child labor unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and possible prosecution.

A fugitive declared wanted in Pennsylvania, US, for raping twin 4-year-old girls, has finally been arrested by the police.
In pictures shared online, the man identified as Isaiah Metz, is seen all smiles as he was being led by the police officers in Manhattan, New York, on Wednesday, April 20.
It was gathered that Isaiah sexually defiled twin 4-year-old girls and was declared a fugitive from justice.
On Tuesday morning, April 21, he was apprehended by two police officers but he physically assaulted them before fleeing.
According to the Police, he punched the two officers in the head and bit one’s arm before running away.
Thereafter, the officers were taken to Bellevue hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged to continue the manhunt for the suspect.
After being discharged, the officers helped arrest the 22-year-old suspect where he was hiding at a a homeless shelter in Yonkers at about 11pm on that same day.
In addition to the rape charge, Metz has been charged with assaulting police officers, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration in a court sitting on Wednesday, April 20.
Meanwhile, the suspect has been heaving criticized on social media for not being remorseful after defiling the innocent little girls.

The young Nigerian doctor, Chinelo Megafu, who was killed in the Abuja-Kaduna train attack in March, has been laid to rest today, April 21, 2022.
The 29-year-old died from injuries she sustained during the terrorist attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday, March 28. She had tweeted during the attack, saying she had been shot and asked Nigerians to pray for her.
The funeral service was held at the Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Obanikoro, and her body was interred afterwards at the Ebony Private Cemetery, Ikoyi.

In other news, survivors of the terrorist attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday, March 28, have recounted their ordeals.
Unknown Gunmen attacked a Kaduna-bound training carrying hundred of passengers on Monday Evening. The train reportedly left Abuja at about 6 P.M and it was attacked between Katari and Rijana.
Several people were killed, dozens injured, and others abducted by the terrorists during the attack.
Speaking to journalists on her hospital bed, one of the survivors, Maimuna Ibrahim, who was shot on the thigh, said it was a horrible experience.
āWe saw hell, I prayed and prayed and prayedā, she said. āI went to a workshop in Abuja in the morning and I was on my way back to Kaduna that same day after the workshop. I was shot on the thigh. But the bullet did not touch my bone. The bullet penetrated out of my thigh. Honestly, we suffered seriously, but thank God soldiers came and they really helped usā. She said.
Maimuna said she was unable to walk after she was shot and soldiers had to carry her out of the train to a vehicle by the expressway
Another survivor, Fatima Shuaibu, a student of College of Education, Gidan Waya, Kaduna state, said her sister was killed in the attack.

Residents of Ehaekpen Street in Benin, Edo State have been thrown into excitement and jubilation after a woman, identified as Florence Ikhine, returned home after 20 years of being missing.
According to reports, the mother of eight was declared missing in 2002 and all efforts to find her was futile.
However, in 2019, one of her children decided to launch another search for her using social media and fortunately, the woman has now been found.
Facebook user, Princess Ehima Elema, took to the platform today, March 21, to share a video of the moment the woman was reunited with her family.
She wrote,

A young Nigerian man, Bashir, has been arrested by the police for the alleged murder of his best friend.
In a statement released today, the Niger State State Police Command announced the arrest of Bashir, who had been at large following the incident.Ā
It was earlier reported that the victim, Hassan Shehu, was allegedly stabbed to death by his best friend, Bashir, in the Tudun-Fulani area of the Bosso Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State. Read here.
Police confirmed that the deceased was the bestman at Bashir’s wedding last year.
The police spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, April 21, said that Bashir was arrested alongside his brother, Aliyu Ibrahim, at a hotel in Minna, while one Abdullahi Garba was equally apprehended for purchasing the victimās phone.
Bashir who confessed to the crime, disclosed that he and his brother conspired with one Suleiman Mahmud to lure the victim to his house for a purported business transaction.
When the late businessman arrived the apartment, the suspects stabbed him to death and fled with his car containing the sum of N2m.
Abiodun further revealed that the suspects will be arraigned in court for criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and receiving stolen property immediately after the investigation is concluded.
“In a continued effort of the Niger State Police Command to rid the state of crime and criminality and ensuring dispensation of justice, the Police Command arrested two (2) suspected killers of late Hassan Shehu.
It would be recalled that on 12/04/2022 at about 1700hrs, a case of culpable homicide was reported at Bosso Division in which one late Hassan Shehu aged 28yrs, a businessman at Kure Market, Minna was invited to Tudun-fulani area of Bosso by one Bashir Ibrahim for a purported business transaction.
Unfortunately, the deceased was allegedly stabbed to death on arrival to the venue, in an apartment by the suspect who later escaped from the scene with the victimās Peugeot 206 vehicle and about two million naira there-in the vehicle.
Upon the receipt of this unfortunate incident, the Police Command swung into action and commenced an indepth technical investigation, after a painstaking investigation and technical intelligence analysis upon the marching order of the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Monday Bala Kuryas, fsi to the operatives of the Command to ensure that the perpetrator(s) of this dastard act are brought to book.
“However, on 19/04/2022 at about 1500hrs, acting on technical intelligence, Police operatives attached to Intelligence Unit of the Command arrested the following suspects:- Bashir Ibrahim aged 25 and Aliyu Ibrahim aged 22yrs, both who are brothers and āmā of Tundun-Fulani Area, Bosso.
“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime that both suspects conspired with one Suleiman Mahmud aged 29yrs āmā of same address presently at large to tie the victim and dispossessed him of the money in his car, but on entering the house, the deceased struggled with the said Suleiman while Aliyu stabbed the victim on the chest and was abandoned till he bled to death.
“Bashir whom the deceased was his best man during his wedding in last year confessed further to have escaped from the scene with the victimās vehicle which contained about two million naira and later travelled to Kano to purchase some chemical for washing of gold items from the deceasedās money.
“The suspects were arrested in a hotel along Western Bye-Pass, Minna while one Abdullahi Garba aged 22yrs āmā of Tunga-Mallam, Paikoro LGA was equally apprehended for purchasing the victimās phone from Aliyu at the rate of three thousand naira with an exchange of another phone.
“Meanwhile, a sum of five hundred and twenty four thousand naira was recovered from Bashir, two bottles of suspected chemical substances which he claimed to have purchased from Kano with seven hundred thousand naira and the said vehicle were also recovered.
“Case is under investigation as effort is ongoing to apprehend Suleiman Mahmud while suspects will be arraigned to court for criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and receiving stolen property immediately after investigation is concluded.” The statement read.

The Senior Special Assistant to Edo State Governor, Sarah Ogunbor, has reacted to a viral video of some kids dancing inappropriately while being filmed by adults.
The old video, which sparked outrage online when it was first shared online, resurfaced following the sex tape controversy involving some students from Chrisland.
The video showed minors who were guests at a children’s party grinding the opposite sex while dancing. Shockingly, adults who were present and should have reprimanded them were seen excitedly recording the moment.
Reacting to the video, Sarah Ogunbor bemoaned parenting in recent times.
