A soldier with the Nigerian army’s operation Hadin Kai in Borno state killed three civilians on Wednesday, March 23.

According to The Cable, the soldier said to have been under the influence of “psychotropic substances” without any provocation, opened fire on the residents of Mafa town in Mafa Local Government Area of the state.
“The lifeless bodies of three persons were laying down flat at Mafa presently while many people sustained gunshot wounds,” a witness said.
About 13 civilians are said to be currently receiving treatment following the gunshot injuries.
It was learnt that the Soldier has already been disarmed and arrested by the military authorities.

Operatives of the Adamawa state police command on Thursday, March 24 arrested a suspected drug dealer and a fake NDLEA officer in the state.
A statement released by DSP Suleiman Nguroje, says the men identified as Kalbiru Muhammed, 41, and Musa Abubakar, 29, were arrested while on their way to deliver the hard drugs found on them to their target in Yola.
The suspect concealed the drugs in a led TV carton and a sound system (speaker) box to beat security checks and escape arrest.
The DSP added that the arrested drug dealer and his collaborators will be properly investigated and prosecuted accordingly.

A UK-based Nigerian nurse, identified as Floreta Chioma Ojukwu, has inspired many social media users after she bagged a first class degree in Adult Nursing from the University of Bedfordshire, United Kingdom.
Taking to her official Instagram page, the young lady disclosed that she was 13 weeks pregnant when she started the course and was advised to defer her admission but she refused.
According to her, she went through pregnancy, childbirth and taking care of her newborn while still studying and now the sacrifices and hard work has paid off as she graduated with a first class.

A man whose wife divorced him for leaving dirty glasses on the sink and leaving his clothes lying around the house has said she made the right decision.
The author, identified as Matthew Fray, said when his wife left with their only son after 12 years of being together, he was hurt, bitter and felt she was being unreasonable.
However, he has now realized that she felt disrespected and mistreated by his actions which he didn’t think was a big deal at the time.
Fray who disclosed that his wife is now seeing someone else, said she made the right choice by leaving him.
“Just after my 34th birthday, my wife left me, taking our four-year-old son with her. I was utterly devastated. I cried and shouted and blamed her for ruining my life.
“When she started seeing someone new, I was physically sick at the thought of this man playing happy families with her and my boy.
“And yet today, nine years on, I believe she made a wise choice. Given her experience of our 12 years together, she did the right thing by leaving me. When someone feels mistreated and unloved, it’s sensible and healthy for them to consider whether choosing that every day forever is the right thing to do.
“So what terrible thing did I do exactly? How did I mistreat my poor wife? Well… I often left used drinking glasses by the sink. Occasionally there were plates, too, deposited on the counter just inches from the dishwasher. Justice Ringim sentenced the convict to three months imprisonment on March 21, 2022 who was arraigned on a one-count charge bordering on impersonation contrary to and punishable under Section 22(2)(b) Of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act 2015. He pleaded guilty to the offence.
A mother-of-two, Tina Idoroyen, has been accused of scalding her 5-year-old daughter’s hand with boiling water after she stole her fish.
It was gathered that the woman, a food vendor, prepared 19 pieces of fish for her business and went out, but found only one piece of fish when she returned.
On discovering that her little girl ate the fish, she punished her by dipping her hands in hot water, The Guardian reports.
Mr. James Ibor, of Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI), the non-governmental organization (NGO) in charge of the child’s case, alleged that the mother admitted that the little girl had not eaten before stealing the fish.
“The mother alleged that her five-year-old daughter stole her fish, so she dipped her hands in a very hot water, that was how she reacted to the alleged stealing.” He said.
“Meanwhile, she admitted that when it happened, the child had not eaten, which means she must have been hungry. The woman has nothing, the father of the child abandoned them two years ago and she still has another eight-year-old daughter. They can barely feed and she is owing house rent, so if we had not intervened with treatment immediately, that child’s burns would have been badly infected.” He added.
Mr Ibor said the matter has not been reported to the police because the child needs the support and care of her mother while in the hospital receiving treatment.
Ibor, however, assured that the perpetrator will soon be handed over to the police for prosecution, and explained that the child has been moved from a private hospital to the General Hospital in Calabar, where a specialist is handling her treatment.

Nigeria’s Minister of Youth and Sport, Sunday Dare, has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari might watch the return leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs between the Super Eagles and Ghana at the MKO Abiola stadium, Abuja, as a form of motivation for the Super Eagles.

A Lady has taken to social media to bitterly complain over the unhealthy water her place of residence provides in spite of the fact it is a very expensive area.
The name of the Estate is withheld but from the videos she shared, one could certainly see that the water is nowhere near good for consumption or general usage.
The lady wrote ;
This is the water we are made to pay in Phase 5 in Chevron.
We pay 25l monthly that’s 300k a year for just water.
Asides from 450k for service charge and 120k for extra security.
This water they say is treated and purified, and recently cos of the diesel wahala in the country, they run water for like only 6 hours through out a whole 24 hours.
People living in lesser communities won’t even suffer this kind nonsense.
