Former Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has reacted to the newly redesigned naira notes that were unveiled today, November 23.

It was earlier reported that the president unveiled the new N200, N500, and N1,000 denominations as proposed by the CBN before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja, this morning.

Photos of the redesigned notes that were shared online showed that the denominations have a similar appearance to the previous look, but with a change in color.

Reacting to the newly redesigned notes via his verified Twitter handle, Shehu Sani wrote, “What shall it profit a Naira if it can get a whole new color and still lose its value?”

Similarly, Nigerians have taken to the various social media platforms to share their opinions on photos of the new Naira notes, with the majority expressing disappointment in the new design.

A Twitter user @Adewale Adetona wrote, “They just added Snapchat filter to the existing Naira notes to make the new ones.”

Comedian, Basket Mouth wrote, “They clearly used a Snapchat filter for this.”
