Should religion be mixed with politics? That’s the question many people have asked as more and more pastors have continued to meddle into politics.

Concerned Nigerians believe the trend is not a good one because it forces them to deviate from their chosen work. Some have continued to cite examples of men of God who have meddled into politics and failed because they seem to side with the government and lie in the process.

6. Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Hiss full name is Ayodele Joseph Oritsegbubemi Oritsejafor. He is popularly known as Papa Ayo Oritsejafor and is the founding and Senior Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church, located in Warri, Nigeria.

On February 7, 2005, he became the national president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN). And 5 years later in July 2010, Oritsejafor waselected as the President of the Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN).

He was replaced by pastor Supo Ayokunle as president of CAN in July, 2016.About a year ago, it was discovered that Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor’s private jet was used to transport about$9.3 million by two Nigerians and an Israeli from Abuja to South Africa.

This money was found seized by the South African government, and the Nigerian government is currently conducting diplomatic discussions with South Africa to release the money.

The South African government insists that he illegallybring cash into the country, in what might have been part of an arms deal with the Nigerian government.
