Police operatives attached to Ojoto Division in Anambra State have arrested one Emila Sunday who claimed to be 21 years old from Akwa Ibom State, for attempting to sell her three months old baby boy at Ire-village Ojoto for N150, 000 on Tuesday, November 24.
When interrogated, the suspect claimed she decided to sell her child due to hardship.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the incident, said the rescued baby is in good condition and that further investigation is ongoing.
A 100-level Theatre Art student of the University of Osun, UNIOSUN (Ikire campus) was found dead in his hostel room by a friend on Tuesday, November 24.
It is alleged that the student, identified as Juba Babatunde Phillips, committed suicide.
He had shared cryptic messages on his WhatsApp status about suicide and hardship, hours before he allegedly claimed his own life.
According to reports, the cryptic message prompted his friend to rush to his hostel to check on him, only to find him already dead with a bottle allegedly containing a poisonous substance next to him.
Juba was confirmed dead by medical personnel and his body was immediately taken to a morgue.
Friends of the deceased have take to Facebook to mourn him.

Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appealed to Lagosians not to allow external forces destroy the wellbeing and security of the state.
Sanwo-Olu made the appeal on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ interaction at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa titled, ‘Internal Security and Conflict Resolution in Lagos State.’
The meeting, was also attended by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi; human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, among others.
The governor said the coordinated arson and destruction that trailed the #EndSARS protest in October was a wake-up call to all citizens and security agencies to be vigilant and move against actions that could affect the wellbeing and security of the country.
He pleaded with residents of the state to allow the peace be fully restored, while also stressing the need to re-establish communication links between the government and the people.
He said, “We have to reignite the communication link between government and the people so that fifth columnists or conspiracy theorists will not be able to infiltrate and spread disinformation and misinformation that would jeopardise the future of our country or the opportunities available for our youths to contribute to the greatness of our country.”
The stakeholders engagement later moved into an executive session where discussions were held on ways out of the current situation.

CCTV footage shows the moment a street urchin opened a woman’s car and stole her purse while she was feet away putting things in her trunk.
In the video, the woman is seen with a shopping cart in a mall car park. Her trunk is open as she loads the things she bought in there with the help of a man who is with her.
While they are at it, a boy stealthily walks to the driver’s door and tries to open it. It proves hard at first but he eventually manages to open it then he leans in and steals her purse and walks away without being noticed by the woman and her make companion.

Nigerian singer, Burna Boy has been nominated for a Grammy Award for ‘Best Global Music Album.’
In the nomination list for the 63rd annual Grammy Awards which was released this afternoon (Nov.24), Burna got a nomination with his new album, ‘Twice As Tall.’
The 29-year-old singer was nominated in the ‘Best Global Music Album category’ alongside Antibalas (Fu Chronicles), Bebel Gilberto (Agora), Anoushka Shankar (Love Letters), and Tinariwen (Amadjar).
Burna Boy’s Twice As Tall album is his fifth studio album. He released the 15-track album on August 14, 2020.
His previous album, African Giant, was also nominated at the 62nd Grammy Awards for ‘Best World Music Album’ but he lost the award to Angélique Kidjo.

Popular Nigerian actress, Adesua Etomi-Wellington has slammed presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie over the photo of kids she shared to advocate for the use of nose mask.
The special assistant on social media, had taken to Twitter to share photos of unkempt and malnourished kids using cartons as an alternative for a nose mask.

American Television channel, CNN has released an updated investigative report on the Lekki tollgate shooting, despite sanction threat from the Nigerian government.
Recall that, few days ago the Cable News Network released its findings from an independent investigation carried out on the October 20 shooting.

The lady identified on twitter as Coco The Lagos Baker, recounted going on a date with a man her cousin introduced her to and after they both ordered and finished up, he expected her to pay the bill which she refused.
According to her, she paid for only what she had but the man who had expected her to pay the entire bill started making up lies that he forgot his ATM in the car. She however insisted she was not paying the bill and that was the beginning of the end of a date gone sour.
