#EndSARS: “Show you understand youths’ plight” – Obasanjo advises Buhari

One time president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has advised president Buhari on how to handle the ongoing #EndSARS demonstrations in the country.

According to Obasanjo, Buhari should address the demands of the aggrieved youths, and show that his administration understands their plight.

Obasanjo, who spoke in Ile Ife, during a visit to Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi palace, noted that, the youths are frustrated due to lack of opportunities.

In his words,

More than 65 percent of our population are between the ages of 18 and 30. They are not only struggling to acquire education, they are also aspiring for the best that life can offer them.

Some of them didn’t even get educated while those who are educated are getting frustrated because of lack of opportunities. We must realize that the lid on the boiling steam would have to be removed.

But, I believe that there are windows of opportunity which the government can explore to show that it cares about the people’s welfare, especially the youths, as the father of the country and particularly, as the father of the youth.

Fortunately, the president has children and he knows how youths behave. I believe that the opportunities can still be taken to let the youths know that he, as a father, understands their plight and his government understands their plight and he is ready to make life better for them.

Nigerian singer, Peruzzi has taken a swipe at former Nigerian presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba after the latter threatened a lawsuit on Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey.

Adamu had taken to his Twitter page to write an open letter to Twitter CEO, Jack, telling him that he’ll be suing him for meddling in affairs of the country and should expected a court summon soon.

Reacting to this, Nigerian singer, Peruzzi asked Adamu not to disgrace himself as his motive is not “fresh” at all. He then asked him to think deeply about it and maybe ask another person to think for him if his brain is weak.

Peruzzi wrote,

No dey disgrace yourself like this. This P no fresh at all. You sef reason am or tell person to help you reason am if your brain don tire.

Here’s what Adamu wrote to Jack Dorsey,

Dear @jack

Sequel to my earlier message to you on meddling in Nigerian affairs where you actively supported, encouraged funding & sponsorship of #EndSars protest, should it lead to breaking of law & order, we’ll meet in court

I’d like to inform you to get set & face me in court

As you maybe aware, Nigeria is currently going through several issues regarding breaking of law and order in many cities, from prison break, to burning of a mall, destructions of properties and even lives.

These actions should never be left without its attendant consequences.

You must be prepared to pay for the damages caused as a result of these protest-turned riots

It’s important for you to know that Nigeria is a country governed by law & order, you should be prepared to face our justice system to ascertain our level of democracy you wish to injure

Your meddling into a sovereign Nation, against the international principle of Right to Protect vested on democratically elected government, your gross abuse of previledge by using your platform to inflame an otherwise tensed country, putting our people at risk should be answered.

You must be prepared to:

1. Pay fine and compensate for the damage you have caused this country.
2. Open a local office in Nigeria, employ local labor, pay local tax to continue to operate in Nigerian internet space.
3. Publish a written apology to Nigerian people & Government.

Furthermore, since the Berlin conference, where African future was “shared” among the European Powers, African was absent & silent. We will no longer be silent in the 21st Century any longer.

You shall have to understand that Africa is a continent of law & traditions & customs.

You cannot colonize us by using our resources in the 19th Century, Colonize our industries in the 20th Century and now colonize us using information war on your scheming for a divide and rule by chaos, uprising and disorder.

Nigeria and Nigerians cannot allow that to happen.

From Kano to Kalabari, Oyo to Kororofa, Arochukwu to Zaria, Benin to Bornu, Sokoto to Ife to Borgu, Nigeria is a nation with Kingdoms, Empires & peopled with History and values, If you cannot mutually treat us as a fellow humans of one community, we shall not let you destroy us.

As a Nigerian Citizen, a committed patriot and a stakeholder in the Nigerian Project, you shall meet me in court to answer for your meddling in the affairs of a sovereign Nation without
@UN
council resolution.

As a private citizen, you have to and should face the consequences.

Expect our court summon shortly.

Thank you

The IGP Would Have Resigned By Now In A Sane Country – Falz says

Nigerian singer, Falz has called out the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu over the current situation of the country.

The award winning actor said that, in any sane society, the IGP would have resigned following the numerous cases of human rights violations perpetrated under his leadership.

In an appearance he made on Arise News, Falz noted that for people to leave the streets, justice has to be served in a transparent manner.

He then queried why the 5 points agenda of the youths is taking time to implement, stressing that the IGP should have resigned if the nation is a sane one.

“It is unfair to the lives that have been lost that you are coming here and telling us to get off the streets, it is extremely unfair. In fact, it is terrible for any human being to, without justice being done, tell people to get off the streets. I completely disagree with that. If you want people off the streets, make sure that justice is done and in a way that is transparent. Which one of those points really need time?”, he began.

“If we are being honest with ourselves, which one of all the points on the 5 for 5 agenda really needs time? You really need time to release all arrested peaceful protesters? Or you really need time to ensure that justice is done and appropriate compensation? What real actions have you taken to show that you are serious about doing this. Look at how long they dragged their feet for, even before they created the state panels. For example, nobody has been sacked. In any sane society, the Inspector General of Police would have already resigned by himself”, Falz added.
