Popular Nigerian comedian and actor, Ayo Makun better known as AY, has taken to his social media page to blast people asking why no celebrity died during #EndSARS protests which held the country to a standstill, earlier this month.

AY bemoaned how celebrities yielded to the calls of fans to lend voices to the #EndSARS campaign and how the celebrities actively took to the street in solidarity with the movement.

He was however filled with disdain over questions by some Nigerians asking “How come no celebrity was reported dead too?”

He took to his social media page to write ;

“When we were yet to tweet about #EndSar,it started with “pls add ur voices”. When we did, they said “get off ur tweeting fingers & join d protest on d street”.When we also did & lost some of our youths in d struggle, they are now asking “How come no celebrity was reported dead too?”

“Passing the blame card to any celebrity is an inappropriate response to the death of our fellow compatriots in the struggle for a better Nigeria .

Even as we mourn our brothers and sisters, let’s maintain a proper focus on our set goals, and be less concerned about any form of orchestrated distractions. Let’s quit discouraging everyone who joined us all in making our voices heard, no matter how low.

Your liking or disliking any celebrity doesn’t count as much as we respect ourselves as human beings. Let’s not make our solutions to the problem be as bad as the problem itself. We shall all be alive to witness that NEW NIGERIA of our dreams soonest.”

Reacting to the news, Paul Pogba condemned The Sun for publishing false news about him, without conducting due diligence. He also tagged the article as “Fake News” and vowed to take legal actions against peddlers of the news.

paul pogba reports

He wrote,

So The Sun did it again… absolutely 100% unfounded news about me are going around, stating things I have never said or thought. I am appalled, angry, shocked and frustrated some “media” sources use me to make total fake headlines in the sensible subject of French current events and adding my religion and the French National Team to the pot.

I am against any and all forms of terror and violence. My religion is one of peace and love and must be respected. Unfortunately, some press people don’t act responsibly when writing the news, abusing their press freedom, not verifying if what they write/reproduce is true, creating a gossip chain without caring it affects people’s lives and my life.

I am taking legal action against the publishers and spreaders of these 100% Fake News. In a quick shout out to The Sun, who normally could not care less: some of you guys probably went to school and will remember how your teacher said to always check your sources, don’t write without making sure. But hey, seems you did it again and on a very serious topic this time, shame on you!

350 motorcycles, 400 deep freezers, 350 generators – Senator Folarin lists things hoodlums looted from his house

Senator Teslim Folarin, representing Oyo Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has listed the things he lost after angry youths invaded his home to loot.

He described the incident as pure daylight robbery, adding that the attackers broke down doors to rooms in the house to steal valuable assets.

“The actions of the hoodlums are condemnable, and it is very disheartening that some bad elements in our society are hiding under the guise of #ENDSARS protests to loot and disrupt peaceful atmosphere in Nigeria,” he said.

“I thank God we did not record any fatality, despite the violent invasion of my Oluyole house, looting of materials and vandalisation therein.

“For the sake of clarification, I have just formally taken receipt of the empowerment materials from a federal agency coordinating constituency projects for federal lawmakers.

“Also, I used my personal money to procure additional materials. I took stock of the materials ahead of a mega empowerment programme scheduled to hold in November 2020.

“Looted materials included over 350 motorcycles, 400 deep freezers, 350 generators, grinding machines, sewing machines, hairdressing and barbing salon materials, vulcanising machines and many more.”

‘It is only after President Buhari leaves office that the truth about what happened at the Lekki Toll gate will be exposed’- FFK

Ffk lekki shooting

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has asserted that the truth behind the Lekki toll gate shooting will only be exposed after President Buhari leaves office.

FFK truth

He said this in a tweet while reacting to the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, who discovered a camera at the toll gate.

The lawyer further added that Fashola can play detective all he wants, but when the truth is out, every single person behind the mass shooting will suffer the consequences.

His tweet reads,

Why would a Minister remove a camera from the crime scene of the biggest mass murder in our history? If the camera was planted by Govt. they will show us what they want us to see. If the camera was not planted &provides evidence of genocide it will be doctored or destroyed &..

The deep state is at work here but we cannot be fooled. It is only after PMB leaves office that the truth about what happened at the Lekki Toll gate will be exposed. After that he &all those that were involved will be bundled to the ICC at the Hague for crimes against humanity.

You can play Sherlock Holmes and Jack Baur today but tomorrow you will smell the shit! Every single one of you that had a hand in that heinous crime will suffer the consequences and be brought to justice.

According to the head of the NGO, Sam Ikpe Utauma, the victim, Ekemini was constantly tortured, starved and subjected to various inhuman treatment by the father and his wife.

He said the abuse had been going on for eighteen months, however, his situation took a turn for the worse eight months ago, when the father began to shackle and leave him in the backyard overnight, without clothes, claiming that the boy is possessed by demons.

It was gathered that the father was arrested following a tip off by a concerned CRARN volunteer. The man was later bailed out by members of the commununity and allegedly boasted that he has the right to treat his son however he likes.

While condemning the brutality, Mr Utauma added that the organisation will be following up with the situation to ensure that the child is safe and out of harm’s way. See his post below:

“The Child’s and Rehabilitation Network (CRARN) is working with the police in Eket to unravel the probable cause of a father frequently tying up and manhandling his ten year old son in Ikot Udota, Eket, Akwa Ibom State.

“Little Ekemini has had a rough time with his father and stepmother in the family home for the past eighteen months. His situation took a turn for the worst the last eight months when his father began to tie and shackle him then drop him in the backyard sometime without food, persistent beatings and viciously manhandling him.

“His appalling condition caught the attention of a CRARN volunteer through a tip-off, and the police was alerted which led to the father’s arrest, unshackling and rescue of the young lad.

“The members of the community quickly rushed and bailed out the man who didn’t deny his act of brutality on his child but merely boasted that he has the right to treat his child as his he wished.

“Ekemini has complained bitterly about the unrelenting abuse and battering he endures in his family and says he fears for his life.

“I’m concerned that they’ll one day do away with me and nobody will know. Just the way they have been torturing me for a long time, and calling me all kinds of demonic names without help coming from anyone.” The young lad had told the police.

“While condemning this reprehensible act of brutality against this child, we will be following up with the situation to ensure that the child is safe and out of harm’s way.”
