Middle Eastern Powerhouse, United Arab Emirates have officially begun administering their COVID-19 Vaccine.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, made the announcement via social media as he received the vaccine.

The Sheikh wrote ;

While receiving the COVID-19 vaccine today. We wish everyone safety and great health, and we are proud of our teams who have worked relentlessly to make the vaccine available in the UAE. The future will always be better in the UAE.

In September, the UAE issued emergency approval for the trial COVID-19 vaccine for frontline healthcare workers.

In an Instagram Live session with Ozo recently, 22-year-old Nengi expressed her doubt in his love for her, stating that she always knew it was fake.

A Nigerian girl identified as Ogwubie Chikemzi Praise is being applauded by social media users after she got all A’s in her result.

WAEC results for the 2020 examination was released yesterday. About 1,338,358, representing 86.99 percent of 1,538,445 candidates who sat for the examination obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five subjects with or without the compulsory English Language and Mathematics.

Ogwubie Chikemzi Praise stood out among her peers as she had parallel A’s in all her subjects. This was made known on Twitter by Ikwerre Youth Movement Television.

“We won’t go back to classes on empty stomachs” – ASUU members say as strike enters eight month

From the look of things, there is no end in sight to the ASUU strike as members of the union in Calabar have vowed to continue with the strike until the Federal Government meets the union’s demands, stating that they will not go back to the classes on empty stomachs.

Dr Aniekan Brown who is the zonal chairman of the union, shared this when he addressed a press conference at the University of Calabar on Monday, November 2.

“Sometimes, either by deliberate ill-intended machinations or for want of understanding, ASUU’s struggles are misunderstood. In the light of the above, it considered expedient to engage the public, to bring to the fore ASUU’s stance on the on-going strike action, and the government-induced distraction known as the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System and the Federal Government of Nigeria’s illicit commitment, hard-work, determination, and treachery to forcefully migrate staff of Federal Universities to IPPIS.” he said

The press conference was attended by ASUU chairmen from universities in the zone which comprises Abia State University, Akwa Ibom State University, Cross River University of Technology, Alex Ekwueme University, Ebonyi, University of Uyo and University of Calabar.

Nigerian Universities have been closed for eight months after ASUU declared an indefinite strike in March this year. The union’s president, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, who announced the strike at a press conference, said the strike is over the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System and the non-implementation of the 2009 agreement.

Ike Obiora informed social media users that he came across the the exact replica of Ladipo market in Queens, New York, USA.

A lot of Northerners on Twitter slammed her for wearing a dress that is “Unislamic” with one of them saying she was wearing “Devil’s dress“.

The argument degenerated into a religious fight as some tweeps accused Northerners of being hypocrites. Some even went as far as insulting the Prophet Mohammed.

In a Twitter tread she shared earlier this evening, Rahma said it is unfortunate that the harmless photos she shared resulted in a religious clash. She stated that she will not tolerate any form of insult on her religion and Prophet Mohammed.

Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade has reacted to accusations that the government paid her to make people doubt the Lekki toll gate shooting of October 20, 2020.

Recall that few days after the incident, the star actress shared a tweet which sparked outrage on social media.

She wrote, “If People died during the Lekki Toll Assault , let their people speak out please and if there were No deaths then enough with the sensationalization because it does not remove from the Crime that happened.”

She was brutally castigated for insinuating that nobody died in the shooting and later deleted the tweet and apologized in subsequent tweets.

Omotola, has filmed a video, explaining her innocent intention behind the tweet. She said she was surprised to see that people were questioning her stance and alleging that she has compromised.

She denied the allegations and said she has never been bribed by the government. She added that her tweet was misconstrued and people began assuming she had been paid.

Omotola said she realized that it appeared the authorities were trying to deny people were killed at the Lekki toll gate, so her tweets were aimed at stating that whether anyone died or not doesn’t change the fact that a crime happened and innocent unarmed protesters were shot at.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Mercy Eke declared herself “Mrs. H” when it is rather obvious there is no letter “H” in either of Ike Onyema’s known names.

Gift Osayuwu, the 11-year-old boy who was arrested for his alleged involvement in Edo Police station attack, has been enrolled in a private school.

Confirming the development on Monday, November 2, Coordinator of human rights group, Talakwa Parliament, Kola Edokpayi, said the boy was enrolled into JSS 1 in one of the ”best private schools” in the Benin City, today.

Gift was accompanied to the school by his widowed mother, a pure water seller.

Recall that the boy was arrested for allegedly joining the gang of hoodlums that attacked Oba Market police station at Evbuotubu area of Benin City. After the attack, he was said to have worn the uniform of a police sergeant and declared himself as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) He was released by the police on Friday, October 30.

Meanwhile, donations into the boy’s Education Trust Fund have continued to pour in from well meaning Nigerians.

A Nigerian Doctor, identified as “Dr. Val” has lost his life to Coronavirus. He is said to have treated injured protesters from the night of the Lekki toll gate shooting.

Nigerian lady who slept in an uncompleted building for months, graduates with first class (Photos)

A Nigerian lady identified as Mary Otunba has shared her quite inspiring story as she rose above all the challenges she faced in her life to achieve greatness in the academic sphere.

In a post on her LinkedIn page, Mary who graduated with a 5.0 CGPA from Caleb university, revealed that she initially attended a polytechnic and after finishing the program there, she was confused on what next to do with her life, however, luck later smiled on her as she got an internship with a big organisation.

Mary shared that she lost her dad at about the same time. But as she was preparing for her Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) exams, she got to know of a distance learning program at Caleb University.

Due to her father’s passing there was no one sponsor her through school, so the resilient lady bore her the financial responsibility of her studies all by herself.

It’s Official

Walking into the four walls of Yaba college of Technology in January 2013 to pay my tuition fee even thou I didn’t like the idea of a polytechnic. Thank you Daddy for the push at the time, I’m forever grateful to you. Rest on papa.

It was wrap in 2015. Come see the clueless me thinking life was about to show me pepper, I guess it did a little. After 6 months at home started off my internship with one of the Big four. *could this be me*

In 2016, everyone in the unit was writing ATS. So, I joined too. Cleared all four papers and got inducted that same year. In 2017, I started my ICAN journey proper with the stipend I earned at the time. It meant a lot then #chuckles… Daddy died in 2017 and left me to take certain life decisions on my own. #quite Painful.

I heard about a distance learning program at #Calebuniversity. Tuition fee was way beyond my pay. Friends would say; Mary, you know you have no sponsor why not leave ICAN for BsC or still take BsC for ICAN. I had nothing to prove to anyone but thought whether or not I discontinue this programs. Money would be spent.

I delayed certain gratifications and loads of pleasures just to pay my bills. (Close your ears, I used a torch light phone for 2years or more).

I slept in uncompleted buildings for months just to stay closer to work. Thanks to the friends that kept clothing and feeding me.
Don’t worry, I won’t mention your names. Just be rest assured I owe you. I’m super grateful for the help you rendered when I didn’t even ask for it.

I became a Chartered Accountant by certification in 2019. Undergraduate program stretched than normal. #Lockdown also added its own bit.

Yolla! The day I’ve been waiting for came. Final semester result left a smile on my face as I had all A’s with 5.0 GP. Head of Department Moses Ekperiware called to inform me that the small me is the *Best Graduating student, Economics Department, Caleb Business School.

To the world is the latest AUDIT-ACCOUNTANT-ECONOMIST!

My experience over the years had thought me that life is in phases. All I need is to enjoy every bit of it cos they are not meant to last forever.

Now, I step into the world knowing fully well that my victory is sure. I step out beyond boundaries knowing that my past is way behind me. Not looking back and forging ahead of the plenty nights of tears and worry.

I stay open for opportunities home and abroad!

Former Nigerian footballer, Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins has shown off his flamboyant collection of cars and a yacht.

The former Super Eagles striker is said to worth over 13 billion naira, from which he is able to afford an Iguana 31 Expedition yacht at a cost of 176 million naira for his 32nd birthday celebration in 2016.

Taking to Instagram, the footballer who plays for Chinese Super League side Wuhan Zall, shared photos of his Bentley Bentayga 2017 model, a powerful ride said to worth around $230,000 (about N88million).

Also in the photo is a Mercedez Benz G-Class that goes for at least $92,000 (about N35million).
