“Our fathers married up to 10 wives, but modern women can’t even stand a second wife” – Journalist laments

Nigerian broadcaster, Emmanuel Onyeka Okoh, also known as Okwuluora, has voiced dissatisfaction with the shift in marriage expectations from the past to now.

Emmanuel, who expressed his opinions on Facebook, was full of condemnation for contemporary women’s lack of respect for their spouses and lack of acceptance of polygamy.

The media professional called the situation sad, asking where the women learned such wickedness—a departure from the qualities their mothers displayed.

He wrote; “Our Fathers married 3 to 10 wives and all of them loved each other & also maximum respect for the husband! Ladies of today can’t even stand a second wife. Anya Ufu. Where una learn this wickedness from. Your Mothers were so good & accommodating. This is so SAD”

“I’ve never cheated on my partner” – Shallipopi reveals

Popular Nigerian singer, Crown Uzama, also known as Shallipopi, has declared that he has never cheated on a spouse, either in the past or present.

The ‘Elon Musk’ hitmaker made this revelation in a recent podcast conversation with British-Nigerian media personality Madame Joyce.

Shallipopi claimed that he does not have a preference for dating multiple women because he cannot double date after entering a committed relationship.

Additionally, he claimed that since he lacks the skills necessary to cheat covertly, it will be easy for his partner to find out if he is meeting someone else.

Shallipopi said:

“I have never been in a polygamous relationship. I stick to one woman if I am in a relationship. I can’t double date because you can get exposed easily. If you have a girlfriend, you love your girlfriend, and you cheat, you will definitely be caught.

I don’t cheat because I will be caught. It’s not as if I’m easily caught. You can act smart and cheat, but you know that you are lying to yourself. I have never cheated before. You can never catch me cheating. I have never done it.”

“I lost weight due to dr.ug addiction” – Timaya

Popular dancehall singer, Timaya has disclosed that he spent years fighting and trying to overcome a heroin addiction.

Timaya said that he was first exposed to drugs during the COVID-19 lockdown and that he used them so frequently that he lost weight as a result of not eating.

The ‘Dem Mama’ singer claimed in a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM that the first time he used an illicit substance, he ended up losing all of the money in his pocket.

Timaya said; “I am not a saint. I have done drugs. Breaking off from drugs was a hell, it was a tough fight. I got introduced to drugs during the COVID-19 lockdown, 2020.

Everybody was home and there are those young guys in my house who are always so happy. And I was like, ‘Bro, how are you guys happier than me, I am the boss I got money? What are you guys on?’ And they told me that they got molly.

When I took it, I did not understand myself. I was so happy that I dashed all the money in my pocket. So I wanted to just keep feeling like that. That was how I lost a lot of weight. I was not eating, I was just happy? How you go just want dey happy?

You are supposed to first of all, be happy naturally. But when you now need substance to make you happy, it replaces the natural happiness.

So you have to be buying happiness. When I said I was taking molly, I was taking like three pills everyday and it felt like medication [laughs].”

Read his heart-wrenching posts below,

“My Lord my God, why have you forsaken me? I thought a day will come; then I will kneel before you oh Lord and testify of your goodness and mercy in thanksgiving and your name shall be glorified,” he wrote.

“Sadly, my sufferings and sacrifices have all gone in vain. You have made me a laughing stock before the enemies. Rest in peace BABA my dear son. Your death no doubt may shorten my days on earth. Go my son, am coming behind you,”

“Aondo Ter Sha Mimi yo u hemba. Dear beloved son, I and your mum prayed to God everyday for you ( male child) to come to this world through us; God answered our prayers after several years and you finally came amidst wide jubilations.

“Then I gave you the name SON-SHATER(We asked through Christ) and we presented you to God in appreciation through the HOLY BAPTISM and gave you the name “ABRAHAM” meaning ” Father of all nations” been the reason we fondly call you BABA. My dream for you was to offer you to God to serve in his vineyard as a PRIEST IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, a dream I couldn’t actualized myself.

“But your days on this earth were majorly characterized by a lot of health challenges; I sacrificed all in order to make sure you stay alive but God has finally said “NO” you should go and rest with him leaving my dreams shattered and my sufferings and sacrifices all in vain.

I have lost almost everything now. I thought I was a strongman until your death. Infact, in less than 24hrs after your demise, I have contemplated suicide twice. Standing helplessly watching your lifeless fresh body lowered into your final abode remains a dream to me.
My heart is completely broken.

“Only God who allowed this to happen can fix it back. The pains and trauma is seemingly too much for me to handle. How I wish you return back to life and see what your mum, I and your siblings(sisters) are going through right now. Indeed, God has proven superiority over life once again. Who are we to question him? Aondo Ter Sha Mimi yo u hemba we tswen. BABA za dedoo se mba van.”

According to Ayra Starr, she learned a crucial lesson from the album: accept that life may not always turn out as planned, that it’s good to be who you are, and to accept some setbacks.

She said;

“Rihanna’s ‘Anti’ is the album I can put on repeat for life. I love Rihanna. She is my greatest inspiration. She is my matriarch. She is my queen. Her album ‘Anti’ is timeless. I listen to it always. The more I listen to it, the more I understand it. I love it so much.

What I heard from Rihanna is being myself, understanding myself; whatever works for me is fine, some things don’t work for me, it’s fine. I’m just going to be myself in every situation.”

The host asked; “Would you rather have a boyfriend who plays video games a lot or a boyfriend who is always in the club?”

Tyla replied;

“Video games all day. A club guy? No! What the hell? I would rather have a boyfriend who plays video games than a boyfriend who is at the club every weekend. At least, I know the guy who plays video games will always be home with me. I also love being at home.”

“Tyla deserved Best African Grammy award” – Daddy Freeze

Media personality and convener of the Free the Sheeple movement, Daddy Freeze, has declared that South African Grammy winner, Tyla deserved to win the award.

He said that the 22-year-old singer, who was nominated in the same category for the 66th Grammy Awards, defeated Nigerian artists to win the Best African Music award.

Daddy freeze advises

Recall that on Sunday, during the 66th Grammy Awards, Nigerian performers Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Olamide, and Ayra Starr were unsuccessful in winning any prizes.

Some angry Nigerian music fans accused the Recording Academy of collusion in the selection of Tyla’s “Water” over popular songs by Omo Baba Olowo and Odogwu.

However, Freeze maintained that Tyla’s 2024 Grammy win was fully earned and differed from the viewpoint of many Nigerian fans.

He said;

“Tyla’s Grammy win over Nigerian artists was not ojoro [scam]. I don’t see the ojoro. I’m struggling to see the ojoro.

Globally, in my opinion, ‘Water’ was a slightly bigger song [than Nigerian songs nominated]. It doesn’t mean those songs were not big. They were very big. It’s just that ‘Water’ has more vitality. It is massive on Tiktok.”
