A female operator of a commercial tricycle popularly called ‘Keke NAPEP’, Mrs. Christiana Augustine, says it is no longer an exclusive preserve of men to make a living from operating a tricycle.
Augustine, who holds a degree in project management from the Federal University of Science and Technology Owerri, said on Tuesday in Abakaliki that her desire to become self-reliant was her motivation.
The mother of three called on other women to embrace the business, saying they could also make their own contributions towards their families’ upkeep by embarking on it.
According to her, women only need self-confidence, discipline and zeal to work hard to make their mark in the society as tricycle operators.
“My husband initially objected my involvement in the venture but I persisted to be given a chance to engage in the venture and he was later convinced.
“We are presently happy with the decision because I compliment his earnings and generally support in the family upkeep with proceeds from the keke business,” she said.
She said the involvement of many more women in the venture was only a matter of time, expressing her resolve to promote the lucrativeness of the venture to women.
Augustine pointed out that “gone was the era of relying on men for their basic requirements and getting white collar jobs on a platter of gold.
“I graduated with a degree in project management from the Federal University of Science and Technology Owerri but decided to engage in the business to be self-reliant.
“The tricycle was actually a birthday gift from my husband and I offered it to a young graduate for commercial purposes but he later returned it to me.
“I leased it to another person and when he became insincere with returns, I decided to use it myself for the Keke business,” she said.
Augustine explained that she does not operate the tricycle during odd hours no matter the situation or the number of passengers available on the road.
“My business does not affect my responsibilities towards my family as I plan my daily activities not to clash with those of my business,” she said.
A regular commuter, Ms Ifeoma Ojigwe, commended Augustine’s initiative and zeal to eke out a living in the sector in view of the high rate of unemployment in the country.
“I will consider toeing this line if I don’t get employment after my National Youth Service 2018,” she said.
Another operator, Mr. Abel Ijeaku, said he was impressed with Augustine’s attitude of being self-reliant, expressing his support for her move to attract many more women into the business.
“We also ensure that she is not intimidated by unscrupulous males in the business as her involvement in the venture automatically makes her one of us,” he said.

Nigerian Senator, Dino Melaye has described Head of State, President Buhari as a good man surrounded by cankerworms and caterpillars.
The Senator made the remark during plenary while members of the Senate were discussing the reinstatement and sack of wanted former pension boss, Abdulrasheed Maina.
Dino says the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who has been indicted in Maina’s reinstatement, has brought nothing but disgrace to the Buhari-led administration.
“It is pathetic. I want to ask this question to the executive; should we continue in sin and ask grace to abound? Time after time, the AGF and minister of justice has abuse dthis office. We are not talking about Maina. We should talk about the integrity of the AGF and minister of justice. If the law officer has his hands stained then the entire nation is one a stained. Mr President is a good man and he means well but he is surrounded by cankerworms and caterpillars. We should have the audacity to take strong decisions. Nigerians would understand why the office of AGF and minister of justice is separated. We must recommend to the president that the AGF has displayed gross incompetence for the office it is occupying” he said
Some hours ago, Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna’s controversial views on the definition of cheating was shared online and not so many shared his views. (See here)
Though his opinion may not be accepted by many Nigerians, he however insists that he has never cheated on his wife and doesn’t see any reason to. According to him;
For me, I looked for a woman that had everything that I wanted. From beauty to brains, companionship and friendship. I’m more about building my family, life and builfing a future both for my internal/external family. I really don’t have the time (to cheat) as i’m always workin and whatever time left is spent with family.
On whether he cooks for his wife, IK said
Yes, I love cooking, The beauty of cooking is when you see somebody enjoying your food. The beauty for me is when I see the person I love enjoying my meal. She’s actually smilling because of the meal I ccoked for her. I try to do everything and anything to maake her happy and If cooking is one of them…. She cocoks for me, I cook for her. It’s just beautiful as far as I’m concerned.
On why he thinks men cheat, IK said;
People say it is in every man’s DNA but I dont think so. It’s a mindset. If you hang around people that cheat, you would probably become a cheater, and vice versa. I don’t think every man’s cheat. It’s a spiritual thing for some. Some Men cheat because they want to cheat. Same with women, it’s a personal decision.
Some weeks back, a lady with the name Lyrnda Onwuali went viral after she made a post on Facebook calling out her husband accusing him of being abusive and revealed that he is financially dependent on her.
She has now returned to Facebook with another username to apologize to her husband, stating that she told lies against him because she was angry.
According to her, all the allegations she made about her husband are untrue and that she did it in order to express her anger over something that is now insignificant.
She shared new loved-up photos with her husband and wrote;
Hello Everyone, I a Lyrnda Onwunali (formerly ) but temporarily Zymmie David on here (Zymmie is the pet name for Ozioma, which happen to be my native name & David is one of the names given to my newly born son). I needed to change to this new name so as to prevent being easily identified by some unfamiliar accounts as I became an easy target for many who decided to turn themselves to an enemy.
By the way, on the 4th & 5th of October, 2017, I had a very silly post on here about my hubby “Okpoebo Chidozie” go viral; a result of plain anger on my side (which the bible explicitly stated “lies in the bossom of fools”) & of impulsivity. And even though that post might have provided a lot of opportunities to rain abuse on me by some and a source of sheer entertainment for many others; I’d like to state here that none of those characters stated in that post defines or portrays my husband, no, not even one of it. In a bid to express my anger over what now seem to be a highly insignificant issue, I apparently did hurt my own very self and ego & so would agree that I deserved every single insult I did receive.
I’d like to sincerely apologize to my husband OKPOEBO CHIDOZIE, the father of my own son, Ryan Somtochukwu Chibuike; my pride, my strength, and my heartbeat & to ask him to please forgive me for that momentary madness, for letting the devil have his moment . I’d also like to ask for the forgiveness of my ever-loving mum, brothers, sisters, very highly genuine friends, especially #Ebenebe Chinedu* *sobs* and my pastor for disappointing them so badly but more importantly, I want to thank yall for the moral support, sound advice and fervent prayers y’all offered. Thank you all for never leaving me when it looked like the entire world was against me. Y’all made me feel very loved and strong again, you were there when I needed you the most.
I’d also like to state that the sanity and peace in our home have been fully restored and that my husband, our son, Ryan and myself are happily back together as one family. Thank you so very much, my hubby, for letting us have our home, our pride and our peace back. I love you so very much my heart; I could never have asked for a more understanding and forgiving husband; may God Almighty continue to grow, enlarge, keep, protect, direct and bless you for our young family. I love you from the very bottom of my heart. May God bless you always.

Popular Fuji musician, Akorede Babatunde Okunola aka King Saheed Osupa has revealed that he is back in school for his Political Science degree course at the University of Ibadan.
The actor, scriptwriter and movie producer whose first appearance was in “Omo Ori Eni” has over 30 albums to his credit after moving into stardom with his “Master Busters” song.
In a recent interview with City People’s reporter, NIFE KAZEEM, who paid him a visit at his Ibadan home, He disclosed the reason why he is back in school for his Political Science degree course at the University of Ibadan.
What led you into Fuji music?
I was so much loved by my parents. Let me say I was the best child of my mum. To be honest, I was a spoilt brat. They didn’t scold me, whatever I said I wanted, they wouldn’t argue with me. They always gave me whatever I wanted. Because, I really disturbed my mum through childbirth, so she believed if anyone should beat me, I would die.
(Laughs) So, I just decided one day and told them that I wanted to be a fuji music singer, they said they wanted me to study.
People think you’re the most aggressive among your contemporaries?
It’s cool, but one thing is clear to those who know me very well. This act that I am wearing, it is Fuji that shaped me into it. I am just trying to meet up with their act, to make it real.
I heard that you’ve gone back for your degree programme?
Yes, I really need to because that is my late parents’ wish.
And what are you studying?
Political Science, at the faculty of Social Science, department of Political Science.
Are you planning on becoming a politician?
Not really! I just want to be a political theorists because I’m still going to obtain my Master’s degree in Political Science.
Are you dreaming of contesting for any post in future?
I’m not, I just want to make correction to some mistakes through my column, on social media. And to be a role model to some boys that I trained.
Are they successful?
To become successful in life it is only God ‘s doing because everything depends on your destiny. I can only try my best as a human being.
Are you married?
Yes and blessed with kids. They are all in the States.
Do you have any issues with anyone in the industry?
Not at all. But I don’t know if anyone has any with me. In my case, music is just the smallest part of my vision, because I believe I can still do more beyond music. But I am not leaving music, because it is part of me.
The major reason I went back to school is to obtain my degree in Political Science, I believe I can still make an impact on the society one way or the other.
There is this axion that says. Dogs and monkeys are not contemporaries. Simply because I find myself in the same bracket with some people does not mean we must reason alike, as for me, I still have a very long way to go.
You being a Political Science Student, what can you say about the present crisis in Ibadan?
Nigerians should pray for our leaders and God bless Nigeria my country. In Oyo State now, there’s something we call “Pandemonium” a royal rumble thing in bracket.
What they say is that the authorities in the state are bastardising the culture of Ibadanland and those in power say the king should dance to their tune, which is not in the history of Yorubaland at all.
No one messes with the power or orders of the King. And we have what is called Convention, which is part of the culture, the normal way of doing things right in Yorubaland.
There’s something we call “Ipebi” in Yorubaland. For someone to become a king, you have to go to “Ipebi”, For the preparation of the new role. I don’t think there is something like that again in Ibadan.
The authorities believed they could just pick or call anybody, without going through the normal traditional rites and rituals and make him an Oba..
These days, the new kings, are crowned in the office of the Governor.
Is this forbidden in Yorubaland?
The culture of Yorubaland forbids the act of just picking someone from any where to become king. You can not just say these are the new kings and start giving them crowns. I called that bastard culture. Constitution of a state must include part of the culture. Just to suite the people.
Going against the culture that has been in place for many years is inappropriate and bastardising the culture.
I personally, disagree with the Governor.
In my findings, I was told that people in power did that just because they believe that the refusal of Olubadan to comply with the wish of the authorities called Progress Kind of Change is against their interest, which Ibadan people called retrogressive.
So, they now say the refusal of the Olubadan to comply with the step the authorities took was at the behest of those who are in Politics. The governor believes it is the politicians around Baba who are dictating to Olubadan, believing that they are the ones telling him not to obey him.
And why is Olubadan not willing to obey? Is it because it is against culture and tradition?
There is this theory in Political Science we call Dualistic Theory of Democratic State.
And it says that we should find a way of bringing together the two. Bring forth a perfect representation of the people.
Anybody in power should just try and make friends among the people, who don’t like you. Just to do things the way of the people, who put you in power and anybody in position of authority should use power with a modicum of maturity.
People know you have the power. But you don’t need to parade your power and say I have the power to do this or that or do whatever I wish to do. After all, the cases are in court and till ‘Kingdom come they might not win the case.
What is your advice for the people of Ibadan?
Just to keep their fingers crossed because there’s nothing they can do about the situation of things now. They can not challenge the authorities in power now.
But what is going on at the moment is absolutely wrong.
Why don’t you advise them and share your own views with both sides?
No! I can’t
Why?
Because I’m still a young boy. We can’t talk about what’s happening among the elders.
What do you expect me to say in this kind of situation than to just hope for the best.

Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin told a Nigerian student to pinch him after the young man felt it surreal that he was in the presence of the president, during an informal meeting at the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi.
Putin’s arrival at the Olympic Park in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi late on Thursday came as a surprise for guests at the festival.
“I’m so overwhelmed. I can’t believe I’m standing in front of the Russian president,” the awestruck Nigerian student, Edostrey, said.
But Putin was quick to come up with a way of dispelling his doubts, telling the young man: “Go ahead and pinch me.”
Edostrey reluctant to accept the offer, had the Russian president instead pinch him himself, much to the amusement of the assembled crowd.
The festival guests had plenty of questions for the Russian leader, with one student asking Putin to remember the most remarkable event from his youth.
“My youth passed a long time ago, I forgot everything,” Putin joked, adding that “of course, there are – it’s mostly sports events. They are my most vivid memories.”
Another student wanted to know if the head of state was eager to take a pause in his busy schedule and join “the youth hangout” at the festival.
“Of course, I’d love to,” Putin laughed, while making clear that it wouldn’t be possible.
During his speech at the opening ceremony on Sunday, President Putin said that the 2017 event will gather 30,000 people, making it the most representative in history.
The festival, organized by the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) along with the International Union of Students since 1947, is being held in Russia for the third time after being staged in Moscow in 1957 and 1985. (RTNews)

Actor, Ik Ogbonna in a recent interview shared his own version of Cheating, and according to him, having sex with a woman who isn’t your wife, isn’t cheating.. This of course has caused mixed reactions on Social Media.
According to him, cheating is when you start sharing the 100 percent of you with someone else.
He said;
Cheating is not even having sex with a woman that is not your wife, that is one mistake most people make.
Cheating is when you start developing feelings for the person, now let me explain myself if a man has sex with a woman for 30mins and he is done and dusted and moves on with his life that ceases to exists the moment it is finished, this means only broke your marital vows…That’s not cheating,
Now Cheating is when you start sharing the 100percent of you with someone else, Now am not just talking about sex, am talking about giving that person Chatting time, I miss you baby, I miss you honey, when can we see again, Planning trips etc
Now, yet again, we’ve stumbled upon another Sudan model with unique dark skin – a photographer for Thesunk, captured the Sudanese beauty at St Howard University’s Homecoming in Washington D.C.
Yesterday, we brought you reports of how a young guy, shared details and pictures of the 2 girls he laid with.. If you missed the Update [Read It Here].
Ray KatiNns.
Now, a Facebook User, Ifeanyi OnyeAbiriba Okebe has felt the need to write him a constructive open letter! Read it Below, it’s worth the read:
Dear Ray Katins, Common sense is not common.
Yesterday, the internet was awash with an update you made on your Facebook wall that reeks of preposterousness. Your crass post made headlines on instablog, Nairaland, Yabaleft, Gossipmill, Information Nigeria, Gistreel, Ogbonge Updates and other media outlets and I believe you had a swell time with the 24 hours fame.
From what I deduced from the balderdash you posted, you wanted to have your pound of flesh because one of the ladies you had a threesome with snubbed you sometime ago because of your beggarly appearance and the size of your pocket that was as famished as a man that had just completed a 40 days praying and dry fasting.
I understand that as a man there’s this lowness of spirit that ensue after rejection from the opposite sex simply because you’re broke but Ray Katins do you have to go that low to rubbish the image of these ladies?
You needed sex, these ladies needed the money and a transaction was sealed between you guys but you threw your integrity as a man to the winds by bringing to social media what was meant to be a private affair.
Isn’t that sex shaming?
You think you’re the only one that loves a threesome? There are many men out there that engage in foursome, fivesome and the list continues but they shove the feelings down their ass and don’t come to social media to dance macabre dance like they’ve won an American lottery.
Need I remind you that in an attempt to drag someone to the mud you’ll end up going low too. In a bid to sex shame those ladies you ended up convincing millions of people on social media yesterday that you’re a birdbrain. Guy, there’s a more subtle means to get back at a lady that once rejected you than the sexcapade stunt you pulled yesterday. How about peppering her with your success story?
Dear Ray Katins, you seriously need James 1:5;
It says; “Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him”.
Bro, real men don’t F**k and tell, they keep their sensual fantasies to themselves. Don’t see this as an attempt to disparage your person rather learn a lesson or two from it and the backlash you got from children of anger yesterday.
If sex shaming of this nature is not discouraged we may see more of it in the future.
To our slay queens out there I also hope that what you guys saw yesterday will serve as a deterrent. There’s much more higher peace in engaging in a genuine hustle for your money than jumping from one d*ck to the other for chicken change.

For some time now, there has been reportedly been calls and petitions to Whatsapp management pertaining the missed call notification on it’s mobile app when the phone did not actually ring and also voice lags or voice break during Whatsapp call which is probably caused by poor internet connectivity.
Additional, due to the network connectivity in Nigeria, one can’t the internet connection status or stability as it is been recommend that 3G, 4G or Wifi internet connection should be used during especially both voice and video calling.
Though, as at the time of writing this post, Whatsapp hasn’t yet imposed these modification, but trust the required test running on these new features, meanwhile let’s have a glimpse of Whatsapp latest update pertaining these glitches.

Whatsapp “Live Location” Feature
Few days ago, Whatsapp announced that users will be able to share the location with friends and family in real time. If you’ve used the sharing feature before, you know we could already share locations before, except it was static. With this one though, you’ll be able to share it in real time, almost like a Google Map of chat.
This is how it will work — open a chat with the person or group you want to share with. Go to Location, from the attach button. The attach options will have “Share Live Location”. When you select it, you can even choose for how long you intend to share location with the other person. Then hit send. If more than one person shares their Live Location in the group, all locations will be visible on the same map.
Note that this is an end to those times you lie to your friends that you’re in a particular location when you’re somewhere else. It won’t end well when they request you share your location.
