“The real recession ends when all Nigerians can eat 3 square meals” – Atiku Abubakar

atiku abubakar ends recession

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has disclosed that Nigeria’s recession will come to an end only when poor Nigerian citizens begin to eat three square meals daily.

The 70-year-old businessman and philanthropist made this known in a series of tweets via his Verified Twitter handle.

He wrote:

“As a Nigerian, investor and employer of labour, the news of Nigeria’s official emergence from the recession is most welcome.

“The news is surely a boost for Nigeria — it tells investors, local and foreign, that our economy is worth investing in.

“While we rejoice, it’s also important to recognise that economic weakness at the bottom of the pyramid remains. Inflation is still high.

“We must continue working hard to expand economic opportunity for all Nigerians.

“When all Nigerians can eat three square meals, that’s when the real recession ends. We have work to do.”

According to Folarin, he rented an apartment in Ibadan and furnished it. Asked how he felt after his property was carted away, the Ogun State College of Education dropout said he felt hurt‎ and shocked that such could also happen to him.

He, however, said the incident did not weigh him down much as he continued his trade in the underworld until he met his Waterloo during a robbery operation on February 25‎ in Ogun State.

“Buhari is working; taking Nigeria out of recession did not happen by accident” ― Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said the Buhari Administration is working and the results are showing in the various sectors of the economy.

The Minister who stated this at the 4th Annual Conference of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) in Kano on Wednesday, noted that pulling Nigeria out of recession was not by accident.

“Taking Nigeria out of recession did not happen by accident. It is the culmination of months of hard work by the Administration and Fidelity to its well-articulated economic policies, especially the Strategic Implementation Economic Recovery (2016) and the Growth Plan (ERGP) that was launched on 5th April, 2017,” he said.

“To naysayers, these positive developments do not constitute news. That’s why they make up their own fake news, and engage in disinformation and hate speech.

They believe that by seeking to overwhelm the polity with fake news, disinformation and hate speech, they can easily obliterate the glaring achievements of the Buhari Administration. We must not allow them to dominate the media space,” he said

“I don’t care if I’m sacked. If Buhari contests in 2019, I’ll support Atiku” – Alhassan

Aisha Alhassan, minister of women affairs, says she will support Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, if he decides to run for office in 2019. In a video which went viral on Wednesday, the minister declared support for the former vice-president.

Her action sparked condemnation, particularly among supporters of APC. But in an interview with the BBC Hausa, Alhassan described Abubakar as her godfather, saying she does not mind losing her job for supporting the former number two citizen.

“Atiku is my godfather even before I joined politics. And again, Baba Buhari did not tell us that he is going to run in 2019,” she said.

“Let me tell you today that if Baba said he is going to contest in 2019, I swear to Allah, I will go before him and kneel and tell him that ‘Baba I am grateful for the opportunity you gave me to serve your government as a minister but Baba just like you know I will support only Atiku because he is my godfather.

If Atiku says he is going to contest. If because of what I said, I am sacked, it will not bother me because I believe in Allah, that my time has elapsed that is why… Baba is not a mad man like those calling for my sack. They have been sending it and spreading that if Baba sees this I will be sacked‎.”

“No Anambra man would let an Enugu man be president” – Fr. Mbaka on Biafra

Controversial Enugu-based Catholic Priest, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka has predicted what will likely happen should agitators succeed in their push for the actualisation of Biafra.

Mbaka said he was convinced that fault lines between different Igbo communities would arise if Biafra ever became a reality.

The priest made this prediction while addressing a cross section of Igbos in East London, on Tuesday.

According to Mbaka,

“If you think we have trouble in Nigeria now, we will see trouble in Biafra.

“No Anambra man would let an Enugu man be president, no Imo man would let an Abakaliki man be president”.
Mbaka also faulted claims that the South East is being marginalised.

Citing the immediate past administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, the controversial priest said an Igbo was Finance Minister, Central Bank governor, and so on.

Mbaka also noted that those whom the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu have been able to influence into agitating for Biafra are “the children of the poor,” who are not thinking properly about the implications of secession.

He insisted Biafra agitators were being deceived by Kanu.

Domino’s pizza addresses claims that their pizza caused food poisoning in Lagos

Yesterday, a Lady called out Domino’s pizza after she reportedly suffered food poisoning she claimed came from the pizza she ate, which was ordered at the Lekki’s branch of Dominos’.

Apparently, the pizza company has issued a statement, addressing the issue, they tag as “slander and character defamation”.

Read their full statement below;

Hi Everyone,

We would like to address the comments associating our brand to the alleged case of food poisoning.

After thorough investigation, we would like to officially confirm that the products served from our restaurant on the same day we have conducted a routine call back to guests served just to find out how their dining experience was and we did not get any complaint.

At Domino’s Pizza Nigeria, safety and Hygiene are our watch words and we operate with International health guidelines, developed, audited and monitored by Domino’s International. Our guests trust us enough to walk through our doors, order online or call our lines and we will never betray that trust.

It is unfortunate that some media houses have picked this up as a confirmed story without speaking to anyone from our team. Our legal team will address this slander and brand character defamation accordingly.

We however are not inhumane to ignore the fact that someone fell ill; irrespective of the fact that the products as served from our restaurants could not have caused this incident; we empathize with her and we have also tried to reach out to her.

Domino’s Pizza is an internationally recognized brand that has been in existence over the years with a good record of safety and health control plan which is assessed periodically by both international and local health organizations and we will continue to keep up this standard as the health of our customers is our utmost priority.

Orphaned Nigerian girl narrates how her adoptive father constantly raped her

Blessing MC Columbus, is currently fighting for justice for a little girl who was allegedly ra-ped by her adopted father.

The little girl has been identified as Michelle, and she was orphaned at the age of 6, her parents died in an accident. After the ugly incident, she moved in with her adopted parents.

Orphaned Nigerian girl

According to Michelle, ever since she came to their home, the man turned her into his sex slave, forcing her to swallow his semen when he compels her to give him a blo-job.

She was a pupil in Top_form Educational Centre, when this tragedy happened. D Proprietess.. Mrs Miracle Nwokocha, adopted her and gave her Scholarship. So, she started living with this ,cursed family, from age six.

When she clocked Ten, d man, whom she calls father, started asking her to suck his Penis, and he will pour in ,his sperm in her mouth,…DAT, it’s daddy’s holy Milk. And he forces her to drink his sperm up to 3 times a day. D girl kept getting fattened.

He will finger her, rape her, or do as he wishes with her. His threats are always,…DAT he picked her from nothing, DAT she has no one to speak for her, DAT if she wants to stay alive, she should cooperate. The girl’s Bros, are feeding from hands to mouth, so, his threats were right.

This man took her to a river, and killed a Cockerel on her head. Telling her that if she tells anyone DAT he lays her, she will die within 7 days. This girl was brainwashed into helplessness.

D rape continued. Sometimes, d wife of d rapist, will find her crying in d backyard, cos of pains from sex, she will retort…you are a stubborn child. What does it take from u, if u obey daddy?

D girl had nothing for herself, but their dosages of constant rape.

She was more or less, d family’s sex slave.

D rapist’s wife, has no child of her own. I believe that she was culpable cos, she thought DAT d hubby might give her a child from d girl. While I told her in d court today, DAT has she ever asked herself, y she never for once, got pregnant, and this her sex slave, never got pregnant too? She looked at me with hostility, and ran off.

Michelle never got pregnant in all this sex drive, she rather ,was saddled with over matured, difficult, untreated infections, which I will b treating gradually, till she is freed.
This man has no intentions to impregnate anybody, but to satisfy his deity.

He again travelled to Umahia with d girl by 2015, and bathed her in their River, DAT he renewed what will kill her, if she discloses her sexual relationship with him.

This girl was groomed with fear, threats….

I was looking at her in d court today…fat, and jittery. She is always watching her back over nothing. Even when she sat with me in d court, she will hold my hand so tight , and b squeezing it. I told her that she was hurting me, she jerked back to her senses and said DAT she is sorry. I now held her hands, she said no, and held me instead, DAT I might disappoint her by not holding her well. Dat she prefers holding me, cos her grip will not disappoint her. So, I allowed her to do my hands and arms ,as she wished. Fear complex.

I will call her…Michelle, she will jump, and run to me,instead of just answering yes, and walk up to me. I discovered DAT she is no more mentally stable.

Her escape..

D man told her that even if she grows, and gets married, DAT he will still b sleeping with her. That he will choose her husband for her. Dat he will still b sleeping with her, and her hubby will have no say to this. She escaped from them, this March 2017, after d wife helped in pinning her down for her hubby to penetrate, after they damaged her laps with hot knife. that was d last rape. She saw it DAT her death is nigh.

Michelle has uncontrollable urine, which passes thru her vagina. As she walks, u will b hearing some sounds from her vagina. She itches now and then, and she is always talking to herself. Michelle is still expecting to die after unending 7 days she was threatened with. Dats y she is always looking behind her. I asked her y her neck is always watching out for something, she said DAT d man might still b out there to kill her.
The man travelled to ogoni, while d wife went to her School.. Her Bros came. She disclosed it, and Ran with him. D Bros surfaced with a lawyer on pro bono, and here, we are still on it….

Michelle’s Bros can’t feed her, she was kept in a Pentecostal Church DAT gave her a temporary accommodation.. Michelle, as I speak now, is homeless.

Am starting her treatment from next tomorrow, including counseling. DAT might alleviate her from her worries.

Michelle is not DAT mentally OK now. Always running, instead of walking, always watching over her shoulders, always trying to squeeze on something for moral, always talking to herself.
I could kill d man for her, but I will waste my life, and my kids will suffer.

They showed us DAT they have money in d court today.

I stood b4 d short devil of a man. Eye ball to eye ball…all he could say was “good morning ma”… I liked d fear of Blessing I instilled in him.

D wife started misbehaving in d court… Dressed like Mother Theresa…was singing ..”Satan shame unto u,all powers belongs to Jesus”

D court clerk called her to order, to shut up, DAT this is court.
She remained mute like a fool. D song was for me, for standing behind Michelle. They thought DAT she will show up in d court with only d Lawyer. A woman DAT breathes lies like Carbon Monoxide. D court was adjourned. Will tell few, for security reasons, when. My greetings to Blessing Awulotu Felix, who damned d distance to come for Michelle..God bless u darling. My love goes to Awele Ideal, who is d real ideas, we are operating with…chukwu gozie GI nnem.

They played us..d rapist and his wife was found no where, when d court sat. Which made d magistrate mad, and it was adjourned. Hahahahahahah. I did something radical, music changed. Won’t give them d heads up,cos they are reading too.

Paul, u and ur wife…enjoy my write up OK. I will see u in court again.

Look at d pics well. The smart ones will recognise d game am up to.

Michelle is back to d Church, am home now to get dinner done.

Thanks for all ur players.

“Why Marry A Woman With A Big Butt When You’re A Two Minute Man?” – Counsellor, Lutterodt Asks Funny Face

He said:

Court Awards N50b Damages Against Stanbic IBTC Over Malicious Publication

stanbic IBTC malicious publication

Stanbic-IBTC bank Plc and CRC Credit Bureau limited have been ordered by Justice Candide-Johnson presiding over a Lagos High Court, to jointly pay the sum of N50 billion as general damages, to one of its customers, Longterm Global Capital Limited, for false, malicious and injurious publication of falsehoods against it.

Apart from the judgement sum, the judge also ordered the bank and CRC Credit Bureau Ltd that is a joint defendant in the suit filed by Longterm Global Capital Limited, to publish forthwith and not less than seven days, a retraction and apology to the claimant in the cover pages of Sunday and Monday editions of the Punch, Thisday and Guardian newspapers, in respect of the alleged false indebtedness publication of the claimant to the bank.

The judgement of the court was sequel to a suit filed before the court by the Stock broking firm, Longterm Global Capital seeking a sum of N50 billion damages against Stanbic/IBTC Bank Limited, over an alleged breach of contract agreement, and malicious publication of non existing indebtedness.

The stock brokerage firm in its statement of claim filed before the court against Stanbic/IBTC and CRC Credit Bureau Limited, by its lawyer, Chief Felix O. Fagbohungbe (SAN), alleged thus: that on or about April 2, 2014, pursuant to the banker/customer relationship between it and the bank, it applied to Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, for a term loan of N250 million. The loan was for the purchase of a commercial property at Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, which would have been prime property it would have acquired and developed Into a multi-storey ultra modern apartment complex for sale to various property investors.

The claimant also averred that due to the urgent nature of the purpose of the loan application at the material time, its relevant officials made several follow-up visit Union Bank Plc, to inquire about the state of processing of it’s loan application.

But to its greatest bewilderment, its officials were verbally informed by Union Bank Plc that credit status check were being conducted at relevant credit bureaus in respect of its loan transaction with other banks in the country. The bank later wrote a letter stating that it would be unable to grant the loan due to unfavorable credit report which was electronically published by the data bank of Credit Beareu Limited that is the second defendant in this suit to the whole world with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s directive.

The claimant further stated that by Union Bank Plc’s letter, it was informed that pursuant to the mandatory requirement of CBN directing that every bank and Financial institutions in the country must obtain credit status reports from at least two credit bureaux before granting any credit facility to their customers, the Union Bank Plc, applied for and obtained its credit status from the second defendant and Messrs Credit Registry Plc, as part of the processing its loan application.

It further stated in the report sent by Union Bank that its credit status with first defendant was tagged ‘clean’, while report from the second defendant was said to be unsatisfactory and it became aware that the Stanbic IBTC bank had reported to the CRC Credit Bereau limited on or about October 31, 2012, that the bank deliberately, falsely and maliciously wrote and published a credit status report through the second defendant concerning it that it has been blacklisted by the StanbicIBTC as a loan defaulter and bad loan borrower who was owing the sum of N543,030.843 million, for 722 days running as at October 31, 2012, and which numbers of days was over and above the maturity date of December 31, 2009.

The claimant further averred that Stanbic/IBTC stated that the interest outstanding on the loan as at December 31, 2012, stood at N213, 537, 753 million.

However, the claimant stated that contrary to the false, injurious and Malicious credit status reports published by the Stanbic/IBTC bank, through CRC Credit Bureau Limited, to the whole world including Union Bank Plc, there were no time that the StanbicIBTC granted it any credit facility which would be classified as ‘lost’ in respect of which account balance in the sum of N543,030.843 million, with the accrued interest in the sum of N213, 537, 753 million, or any other sum at all were outstanding against it.

It stated also that to the foregoing, Union Bank Plc relied on the defendants’ credit status information and declined granting its term loan which was required to purchase a commercial property.

It also stated that the plaintiff apart from not being indebted to StanbicIBTC , it was neither informed by the Stanbic/IBTC that it was indebted nor was any demand made in that regard before the malicious falsehood was reported by Stanbic IBTC to CRC Credit Bureau which subsequently published the false and untrue credit status reports to Union Bank of Nigeria PLC and the whole world.

It also stated that the credit status reports made to the second defendant by the first defendant in relation to the alleged indebtedness was made without just cause or excuse as there was never a time Stanbic IBTC granted it any credit facility which can be classified as ‘lost’ or ’bad’ which it did not pledge adequate and readily realizable collateral security to cover the principal loan amount plus interest.

Consequently, due to the deliberate, malicious and/or injurious falsehood published by the defendants in relation to the credit status, it has been unable to access any credit facility from Union Bank of Nigeria PLC , and all other financial institutions in Nigeria, as it has been blacklisted and embargoed from accessing new credit.

The claimant also stated that the false, malicious and injurious falsehood of the defendants has adversely affected its business reputation, as all its bankers and Financial institutions are no longer able or permitted to grant any credit facility to augment its working capital for reason that it has been effectively blacklisted by been classified as a bad or delinquent borrower and consequently shut-out of Nigeria’s credit system.

The claimant also averred that the malicious and injurious falsehood by the defendants was calculated to embarrass, de-market and cause huge pecuniary damage as a registered capital market institution, the main objective of the defendants in deliberately, willfully and intentionally publishing the malicious and injurious falsehood credit report, was to asphyxiate and paralyze its investment activities and capital operation, and to untimely make its business collapse without just cause.

Consequently, the claimant urged the court to award it the sum of N50 billion as general damages against StanbicIBTC Bank and CRC Credit Beraeu jointly and severally and the sum of N50 million as cost of instituting this suit.

Delivering judgement, Justice Candide-Johnson also directed CRC Credit Bureau Limited, to immediately delete from its electronically published data bank and all other publications, all references to the alleged indebtedness of the bank’s customer to the bank.

The judge further made an order of perpetual injunction restraining Stanbic-IBTC Bank PLC and CRC Credit Bureau Limited, from further publishing any other materials or details relating to the alleged indebtedness of the claimant to the Stanbic-IBTC PLC

Finally, the court also ordered the payment of interest on the above judgement sum at the rate of 10 percent per annum from the date of judgement of the court until date of the final payment by the defendants in line with the provision of Order 35 Rule 4, of High Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2012.

However, Stanbic/IBTC in its statement of defence filed before the court denied all the claimant’s averment, thereby urging the court to dismiss the suit in its entirety with substantial cost in its favour.

In urging the court to dismiss the claimant’s suit, the bank averred that the claimant maintains an account with its Adetokunbo Ademola branch, and at all material time, the transaction on the said account were recorded electronically by its computer system.

It added that between April 2008 and June 2011, the transactions were recorded in Account number 1111314381, under the Equinox Core Banking System, and between July 2011 and the time of instituting the suit, the transactions were recorded in Account number 9200689089, under Finacle Core Banking System.

It also stated that it did not author the credit status report cited by the claimant but merely provided the second defendant with the status of the Credit facility obtained by the claimant from it in discharge of its obligations under the guidelines for the Licensing, Operation and Regulations of Credit Bureau in Nigeria (CBN Licensing Guidelines).

It also averred that the aforementioned information it provided to the second defendant was true and consistent with its records, and were not borne out of ill-will or malice and were not intended to disparage the claimant’s trade of business as alleged.

Stanbic/IBTC also stated that the claimant’s indebtedness arose as a result of a credit in the sum of N600 million, by virtue of letter of offer dated March 27, 2008 adding that the said indebtedness had been subject of litigation since December 23, 2009, in a suit marked FHC/L/CS/1491/09, Re; Longterm Global Capital Limited and Patrick Akinkotu vs. Stanbic/IBTC, Appeal No. CA/L/194/2011, Stanbic IBTC Vs. Longterm Global Capital and Patrick Akinkotu.

And that a notice of appeal dated May 13, 2013, in respect of the matter has been filed at the Supreme Court of Nigeria on a motion on notice dated May 13, 2013.

It also stated that the said indebtedness had been acknowledged in the judgement by the Federal High Court in suit number FHC/L/CS/1491/09, Re; Longterm Global Capital Limited and Patrick Akinkotu vs. Stanbic/IBTC by Justice Achibong.

The bank also stated that the claimant’s Statement of Claim does not disclose a reasonable cause of action, and the action constituted a vexatious, frivolous and Malicious, consequently, the court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the suit.

Consequently, the bank urged the court to dismiss the suit in its entirety, and award substantial cost in its favour.

ASUU Strike: FG To Hold Executive Meeting With Union On Thursday

According to TodayNG, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has confirmed a crucial meeting with the Federal Government on Thursday, exactly one week after the lecturers refused to show up for a meeting with the government delegation.

The meeting is at the instance of the ministers of labour and education and was communicated to ASUU in the early hours of Tuesday.

Persons expected to be at the meeting are the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, and the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.

The President of ASUU, Biodun Ogunyemi has confirmed Thursday’s meeting, TodayNG reports.

He said:

“We just received the notification of the meeting. Until Thursday, that is when we can say what would happen but we have been invited for the meeting.”

A National Executive Council meeting of ASUU which held last week had reviewed the government’s initial offer to some of the demands of the lecturers.

At that meeting, the lecturers resolved to proceed with the strike which commenced on August 13.

The federal government had reportedly offered to pay N23 billion and a monthly payment of N1.5 billion pending the outcome of the forensic audit being carried out by the Ministry of Finance on various universities.

Some of the demands of the lecturers include payment of shortfall in salaries, universities to be allowed to manage their internal revenue independently and exemption of universities from the Treasury Single Account.

Woman Donates 8 Gallons Of Breast Milk To Harvey Survivors (Photos)

woman donates breastmilk

A mother in Missouri, Danielle Palmer of Owensville has helped out potentially hundreds of Texas children by donating 8 gallons (65 pints) of breast milk to Hurricane Harvey’s survivors.

She had an excess of bottled breast milk ready to serve up to her son, Truett – but when she saw the devastation in Texas she knew she had to help out other mothers.

She said:

‘We have each-other’s backs. We take care of each other,’
‘Breastfeeding is hard. Whether you’re pumping or feeding or however it may be, it’s hard. And we are like momma bears. We protect one another.’

She learned something about the difficulties of raising kids after her son, Truett was born with a congenital heart problem, among other difficulties.

That meant he had to take most of his nutrition by IV – which led to Palmer’s freezer building up an impressive amount of excess milk in the meantime.

So when Truett’s speech therapist suggested donating some milk to the mothers and babies affected by the floods, Palmer realized they were asking the right woman.

She added:

‘With Truett’s heart defect, I don’t take that lightly but I also know I’m grateful for the situation God placed us in, It’s given us the opportunity to do other things, I mean had we not been in this situation, we wouldn’t be able to share some of our love with the babies in Houston.’
