Bill Gates has just been overtaken the Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos the richest man in the world.
Jeff just topped the Microsoft founder, Gates for the first time ever with the fortune of $90 billion.
According to Forbes, the opening of markets today, July 27 got Bezos to a net worth of $90.6 billion, putting him more than $500 million ahead of Bill Gates. Amazon stock opened up 1.6% on Thursday, adding $1.3 billion to Bezos’ net worth. That was enough to put him ahead of Gates, who was last surpassed on Forbes’ real-time rankings for just two days nearly a year ago by Spanish retail giant Amancio Ortega.
Jeff Bezos
Forbes started tracking billionaires around the globe in 1987. Bezos is now the seventh person to hold the title of the world’s richest person and the third American to top the global ranks besides Gates and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett.
While Gates and Buffett both appeared on Forbes’ first ranking of America’s 400 Richest people in 1982, Bezos is a newer addition to Forbes’ wealth rankings. He first appeared on the Forbes 400 in 1998, a year after Amazon went public, with a $1.6 billion fortune. Bezos ranked third richest in the world on Forbes 2017 list of the World’s Billionaires, published in March, with a fortune of $72.8 billion.
Gates gave so much of his fortune to philanthropy making it possible for Jeff to overtake him. Gates created the Giving Pledge with Buffett to encourage billionaires to give at least half of their wealth to charitable causes. He gave away $32.9 billion over the course of his lifetime through end of 2016.
Bezos attended Princeton and then worked at a hedge fund before starting his online bookseller in a garage in Seattle in 1994. Amazon has since grown into an online retail behemoth selling a wide range of products. It also offers cloud services through its Amazon Web Services division, known as AWS. Outside of his day job, Jeff Bezos owns aerospace company Blue Origin and the Washington Post.
Innoson Nigeria Limited and its owner, Chief Innocent Chukwuma (OFR), have filed a fresh lawsuit against Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) PLC in the High Court of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The automaker is claiming a total sum of N400b as damages for injury to their reputation, moral character, credibility, office, vocation and trade.
According to a source, Innoson is also seeking an order of perpetual injunction restraining GT Bank from further defaming them.
The lawsuit which was filed by Innoson CEO’s counsel, Prof Joseph N Mbadugha Esq, is a sequel to a recent decision by the Supreme Court of Nigeria in favour of Innoson Nigeria Ltd. in Appeal No: SC/694/2014 between GTB v. Innoson Nig Ltd., where the Supreme Court dismissed GT Bank’s Application.
The source said the automaker has won various lawsuits against GT Bank, adding that on July 29, 2011, the Federal High Court, Ibadan Division, through a garnishee order, asked GT Bank to pay the sum of N2,048,737,443.6K to Innoson Nigeria Ltd.
GTBank, however, appealed against the judgment to the Court of Appeal, Ibadan Division.
Also, in a unanimous judgment, delivered on February 6, 2014, the Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal and affirmed the judgment asking GT Bank to pay the said sum of N2, 048,737,443.
In protest, GTBank appealed to the Supreme Court on 11 Grounds and subsequently sought to amend its notice of appeal- to adduce fresh evidence showing that Innoson Nigeria Ltd obtained the judgment of the Court of Appeal by fraud and fraudulent suppression of material facts.
According to a statement issued by the automaker, “GT Bank had through its motion on notice in Appeal No: SC/694/2014 dated the 22nd of January 2016 and filed at the Supreme Court on the 5th of February 2016, with a 15 paragraph affidavit in support averred that Innoson Nigeria Ltd obtained the Court of Appeal Judgment against GT Bank in Appeal No CA/I/258/2011 by fraud.
The statement reads:
“Similarly, at paragraphs 9 and 10 of the affidavit in support of the said motion on notice deposed to by Sarah Ugamah on behalf of GT Bank, GT Bank said that Innoson Nigeria Ltd fraudulently suppressed that it was paid the sum of N1, 406,515,845.98 (One Billion, Four Hundred and Six Million, Five Hundred and Fifteen Thousand, Eight Hundred and Forty-Five naira, Ninety-Eight Kobo) in liquidation of the judgment debt.
“However in a unanimous decision, on 12th May 2017, the Supreme Court dismissed the GT Bank’s said motion on notice; and while dismissing the motion, Supreme Court stated, inter alia, that GT Bank engaged in double speaking and in a frivolous frolic in bringing the application.
“In the fresh suit, Innoson Nigeria Ltd and Chief Innocent Chukwuma maintained that the words published by GT Bank –that it obtained the Court of Appeal Judgment by fraud and fraudulent suppression of the fact that Innson Nig. Ltd. was paid the sum N1, 406,515,845.98 in final liquidation of the judgment debt – implies that Innocent Chukwuma and Innoson Nigeria Ltd are dubious, dishonest, dishonourable, and untrustworthy, of questionable character, fraudster, criminally deceptive, cheats and obtaining money through “false pretences.”
“In consequence, Innoson Nigeria Ltd and Innocent Chukwuma are claiming against the GT Bank PlC as follows: N100 Billion exemplary damages; N100 Billion for injury to feelings-mental pains and anxiety; N150 Billion for injury to reputation and N50 Billion general damages.”
Also, Innoson Nig Ltd. and Chief Innocent Chukwuma further claim:
1. An order that the published words complained of being retracted by the Defendant – GT Bank with an apology published in two National dailies;
2. An order of perpetual injunction restraining the GT Bank from further maligning or otherwise defaming them in the words or similar words complained of in this motion;
3. An order of perpetual injunction restraining GT Bank, its agents, privies or whomsoever from further defaming the plaintiffs;
Innoson sources also explained that 22% interest on the said sums of money claimed above commencing on January 22, 2016, till the date of the judgment and thereafter at the same rate of 22% interest until the satisfaction of the judgment debt.
According to CNN, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) recently partnered with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to provide spare parts for NAF’s fighter jets.
The council of chiefs in Nri community in Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra are threatening to institute legal action against the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, for allegedly committing a taboo in their community.
The Personal Assistant to the monarch of Nri community, Eze Obidiegwu Onyesoh, Ifeanyi Onyesoh, who spoke to newsmen in the community today, said Kanu along with his wife and supporters stormed the community on July 19th without prior information to the monarch. Onyesoh said on July 18th, some persons said to be supporters of Nnamdi Kanu visited the monarch to verbally inform them that Kanu was coming for a visit. He said he was the one that received them and he told them to go back and return with a written letter seeking for an appointment.
Onyesoh revealed that the monarch was surprised to hear the next day that Kanu had arrived the town and paid a visit to one Mr. Shadarack Mbanefo who is a subject to the monarch.
“I was the person that received them and so I told them to go and come back with a written letter so that they will get an official reply from the palace since the delegation looked unusual, in that there was no titled person among them. At this point, they all left and what we saw the next day was Kanu visiting Nri community with a huge crowd of his supporters. He (Kanu) went straight to the house of one Chief Shadrack Mbanefo, a subject to the traditional ruler of Nri. The feelers we later got, was that the said Mbanefo claimed he handed over the `Offo Nri ’, (symbol of royalty) to Kanu, and even allowed Kanu to visit the historic “Ohianwehi forest” revered as “forest of life” by Igbo tradition. This forest is believed to be the place the first burnt offering was offered by the Jewish Igbo ancestors when they migrated from Israel more than 2,000 years ago,’’
Onyesoh said Nri people considered Kanu’s conduct as a taboo because no high profile visitor entered the community without first visiting the traditional ruler let alone a sacred place without the knowledge of the monarch. He said Kanu and his supporters later found their way to the entrance of the palace and tried to force it open.
“It was this unruly conduct that made the traditional ruler to telephone the security agents who responded promptly and dispersed Kanu and his supporters. It is a taboo in Nri and equally against the Anambra State Traditional Rulers’ Council Law for a high profile visitor to visit a community without first paying homage to the traditional ruler. The people of Nri and her traditional ruler are not against Nnamdi Kanu and his agitation/aspiration but what we cannot take is for Kanu to come and mess up the Nri culture and tradition under whatever motive. The community will drag him to customary court to ensure that nobody else gives such insult to the community and its heritage’’ he said
Controversial OAP Freeze has reacted to report that former Nigeria’s petroleum minister, Diezani stole $90 Billion.
He said, it is simply impossible for Dieziani to have stolen $90 Billion from a country whose annual budget is $23billion, and that nobody should jump into any conclusion.
Guys, lets not jump at sensationalized news captions aimed at drawing traffic to websites.
How much money does Nigeria have as a nation that someone will steal $90 billion?
I’m my opinion, it is simply impossible for Dieziani to have stolen $90 Billion from a country whose annual budget is $23billion. Do you know how much $90billion is?
Guys calm down, many of you have selected lynch mob mode in the subconscious part of your brains, please reset your brain back to normal.
I am in no way supporting corruption and if Dieziani is found wanting by a competent court, let her be persecuted accordingly, but until that is done, please I implore all well meaning Nigerians to stop cursing her and her mother, at least not for this crime, as it is humanly impossible to commit it; you can’t steal more than what is available! ~FRZ

Nigerian Actor and style icon, Jim Iyke, has taken to Instagram to share a picture of himself as he pen down a lengthy definition of what style means to him.
He disclosed that he is the confluence of global cultural diversity and added that God tailored him entirety for one entity; which is HIM.
He wrote:
Whether I’m rocking an overpriced jacket on the streets of champs elysees or rocking rubber flip flops soaking up the adulation of the street in the slums of kibera, it matters none. Unshaven for weeks with morning breathe rocking a palm oil stained old tee telling bad jokes with my sisters in my man cave or well groomed in handmade rare leather loafers makes no difference. It changes nothing.
I am the confluence of global cultural diversity. I’ve meticulously and resiliently self tutored its complexity into my DNA by trial and error. The originality is singular only the substance is duplicable. God tailored my entirety for one entity; ME.
It’s a comprise far from not only what you wear. It is how you think. Your principles. Your choices; costs and effects. Your idiosyncrasy. It’s in the roots imbibed by the man that sired you and men that mentored you.
Everything else around me is an Accessory. I am the essence. I give it life.
No brand, address, tribe, race, religion, creed, or ideology can define me. God created me this way eternities before my birth.
I cannot pretend to be anything else even if I wanted to. I’ve tried and failed woefully in the past. I am ridiculously comfortable and apt being me. Rules become inapplicable, even redundant. It’s an attitude. A way of life.
Perception is the window. It’s orchestrated conditioning to misinform you by disinforming you. Find your purpose and be informed. It is your open weapon.
I know people with $100 dollars budget walk into a room and everything stand still. I’ve seen people with $100k budget that make it look like a painful process and what is more cant hold a convo with a smart 8 year old.
It can’t be bought. It is and will always be priceless.
Once you’ve figured out this truth, you will strive for a reach beyond your grasp. A consciousness and profound understanding of self. It is the mastery of your space. Your individuality. Your flair. It’s in all of us whether dormant or dominant.
Find it. Train it. Fail it. Win it. Own it. Ostracize it.
This is STYLE. This is how I understand it.
Now how friggin DOPE is that!! #StylePiper #RainyBeautifulDay #ParisChronicles

Dear Nigerian graduates, it is not by pouring water
I’ve been a Nigerian since I was born and I know how we sometimes behave like we’re sick in the head.
Honestly, I have been trying to understand the rationale behind this pouring water thing after your final paper. What are the benefits economically, financially, intellectually and other wise?
I don’t know who came up with this ritual and I find it really exhausting.
Celebration? Of what exactly?
You know, sometimes, I talk and people say God forbid snapping their fingers towards my direction.
I laugh and pray for them because they are in a long distance relationship with reality.
Celebrating your graduation with pouring water and the extra madness that comes with it shows how we are not well.
When I graduated from a college of education, did I pour water?
Yes I did.
Why?
Because I was mad at the time.
Listen, celebrating your graduation is fine but see it as cleaning your shoes on a foot mat before walking into a sand dune. Or washing your hands before you sweep your compound.
See how pointless it is?
The politicians who should be threatened that a new crop of smart chaps are coming out of schools will see you people trending on social media with water all over you and laugh.
Why? That is all shade of not being serious.
There are no jobs in place for you people. You will go to those smelly NYSC camps and fall sick. They will owe you 19 thousand that you can easily get by playing few odds with 3k. They will frustrate you.
From punishment to punishment.
After the punishment of being Nigerian, you go through the punishment of going to a Nigerian school, then again, you go through a euphemized punishment titled NYSC.
Finally, the real punishment comes when jobs see you and run away because you don’t want to sleep with the interview people or you don’t have money to secure the job.
You know what? Many people will shout God forbid from semester to semester and yet nothing happened.
You graduated from school but nothing graduated inside you and you have the hand to pour water?
Pray karma doesn’t kick you on the balls.
To the new graduates, I wish you people well. But, be ready for reality.
You think you can pour water?
Pray reality doesn’t drench you with the slimy liquid of frustration.
Until then, work hard and pray let’s see how it goes.
Cheers.
