Finally, Chibuike Miracle Oramalu has been released to his mother in Enugu State.
The primary two pupil has been detained since May 30, after accidentally firing a gun, which killed a 12-year-old boy, Oluebube Boniface, in the Independence Layout area of Enugu.
The gun belonged to Edwin Oforma, who employed Chibuike’s mother as a cleaner and housekeeper in his house. He accidentally fired the shot after discovering the gun in Oforma’s room while making the bed, as he was instructed by Chukwunanu, Oforma’s son.
Chibuike’s mother, Nwakaego Oramalu, and her lawyer, Olu Omotayo, of the Civil Rights Realisation and Advancement Network, had raised the alarm over his continued detention.
The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State, however said the boy was not detained but in protective custody.
Christ Apostolic Church’s Pastor Segun Adeyinka has begged a Customary Court in Alimosho Lagos to end his marriage of 22 years to his wife, Mrs Folake Adeyinka because she is always disgracing him in front of his church members.
Yesterday, at the Alimosho Customary court, he said:
“My wife usually disgraces me in public and in my church. She has made many church members to leave the church. She doesn’t want to see people around me. She is making people to run away from me.
If my church members give me something, she believes she must have a share of it. We always fight. My wife also doesn’t want to hear that I don’t have money. Anytime I tell her that I don’t have money, she would start fighting me. I don’t earn salary.
It is what my church members give to me that we share at home. Still, she is not satisfied.”
He urged the court to give him custody of their four children. Before the case was adjourned to September 5, 2016 for further hearing, Folake responded by saying she still loved her husband and did not want the marriage to be dissolved.
According to her, she doesn’t have another husband, except Adeyinka. She added: “I’ll not disgrace him anymore in the public or in church. My husband and I have separated for two years now. He moved his things gradually out of our home until nothing remains.”..

Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose has responded to a June 22nd letter by counsel to Mrs. Buhari, Mary Ekpere & Co, demanding a retraction of the governor’s statement that her client (Mrs. Buhari) was involved in the Halliburton scandal.
The legal firm threatened a legal action, if the retraction was not made within five days.
In response, he has advised wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, to wait till end of his tenure on October 16, 2018, to sue him for defamation.
Fayose, in a letter by his counsel, Mike Ozekhome, a copy of which was made available to reporters in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, reads:
“Our client has referred to us your letter of June 22, 2016, on the alleged defamation of the character of your client, the wife of Muhammadu Buhari, with firm instructions to reply to and reject same.
“Our client states and reaffirms that the statement he made as regards the involvement of Mrs. Aisha Buhari, in the Halliburton scandal, is correct and justified in law; having regards to a court judgment convicting Mr. William Jefferson for bribery in the Halliburton case.
“Therein, the name of the President’s wife featured conspicuously. On Page 22 of the judgment delivered by the United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division, USA, in Criminal No 1: 07CR209, Mr. William Jefferson was sentenced at 9 am on November 13, 2009, by Mark D, Lytle. Your client, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, was mentioned in the judgment. The judge referred to exhibits 36-87 in the following words, for clarification;
“See also Government Exhibits 36-87 (6/26/02 $170,000 wire transfer from account in Nigeria in the name of Aisha Buhari to an account in the name of The ANJ Group, LLC, identifying “William Jefferson” as beneficiary)… Given the age of the defendant, the severity of the sentence calculated by the Probation Office, the defendant’s frequent travel overseas and unexplained wire transfers from overseas locations to financial accounts used by the defendant, the defendant cannot rebut the presumption at sentencing that he is a risk of flight.”
“Williams Jefferson is serving a jail term in the USA and to the best of our client’s knowledge, this judgment has not been challenged or set aside by any appellate court of law anywhere in the world.
“The statement of our client, is therefore correct and justified, same having been factually premised on an existing court judgment above referred to.”
On the immunity enjoyed by Fayose against civil and criminal proceedings, the senior advocate said: “Your attention is also drawn to Section 308 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as altered, on the immunity enjoyed by our client from civil or criminal proceedings for the period that he occupies the office of the governor of Ekiti State.
“You may, therefore, advise your client to wait until after October 16, 2018, when our client’s tenure expires. When that happens, we shall join issues with your client in a competent court of law, in the event that your client does not have a change of heart.”

Three artisans have been reportedly killed after a two-storey building under construction at Ndiagu in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra has collapsed at about 8:00am on Wednesday.
An eye witness disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that three other persons, who sustained severe injuries from the incident, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
It was gathered that those that rushed to the scene of the incident and assisted in the rescue mission included the Commissioner of Police in the State, Hosea Karma and the Divisional Police Officer in Ogidi, Hassan Musa.
The state police boss, Karma, who described the death of the artisans as ‘unfortunate and untimely,’ urged the people in the area to take heart and prayed for the repose of the souls of the dead, adding that the corpses of the deceased had been taken to Iyi-Enu Hospital’s morgue.
Chuka Onubogu, the President-General of Ogidi community, attributed the collapse to substandard building materials, and appealed to contractors and those involved in building projects to ensure that genuine materials were used.

This is a true life story: Please I want people to help me out here. I proposed to my girlfriend of 8 months last 2 week and we agreed to visit her home last Sunday. I have always dropped her off around the place but I have never entered the house because I wasn’t yet ready to meet the parent because we were just dating then and I wasn’t yet sure that she was the one for me.
Meanwhile all these while, my girl was only referring to her mum so I subconsciously concluded that the father is late. So last Sunday, I got to their house at Agege pen Cinema and what I saw was very sad. I saw a man looking so haggard in the sitting room…
I greeted him, he answered in a very low tone and welcomed me. My girls mum soon came out to the sitting room and also greeted me. We exchanged pleasantries before my girl came out to join us in the discuss. At a point my girls mum brought out money and asked the haggard man to go and buy fuel so that they can put on the generator for me so that Heat will not disturb me.
We discussed at length after the man left.
To cut the long story short, after the meeting we fixed another date for the second meeting that I was supposed to attend with a family member. When I was about leaving, I gave them some money and some to the man and he fell on his knees thanking me as if he has never owned N1000 in his entire life. When my girl was seeing me off, I asked her who the man was and lo and behold, it was her father. I couldn’t believe my ears. it was like a rude joke. It was unbelievable.
She must has sensed my confusion before she started telling me stories of how the man maltreated her mum when he had money, how he married another wife who squandered all his money and left them in penury. She said he used to beat her mum and all sorts.
Since that Sunday till now, I have no peace. I was thinking and imagining how a right thinking woman and her daughter can comfortably relegate the man of the house to a mere houseboy. That Sunday, the man was wearing a torn knicker and a white singlet that I wont even use to clean my car.
Even my wife to be hushed him down when he came back and wanted to keep the fuel change to himself. Something is wrong somewhere. A woman who could treat her husband like this… I have not even picked her call since that Sunday evening.

The first daughter of the evangelist who was hacked to death while preaching at Kubwa, Abuja, Mrs Eunice Olawale, Jessica, has spoken on the demise of her mother.
Jessica revealed that a night before the death of her mother, she had told her to love her siblings and take care of them – she said her only consolation was that her late mum was in heaven.
15-year-old teenager who spoke with the Nigerian Tribune on Monday, said:
“the evening before she was killed, she woke me up to follow her somewhere, When we got to a junction, she paid a shopkeeper who she was owing.
“When we were returning home, she asked me if I noticed the love between her and her siblings, she then asked me to love my siblings as well and bring them together. She said I am supposed to love them and be their mother.”
“The last thing she told me before she died was ‘good night dear’.”
A condolence message by Jessica reads:
“Mummy, I can’t still believe you are gone. I love you so much. I will try to be very strong for daddy, ok.
“I will take care of my younger ones like you wanted me to do. Oh! How I miss you. You were so beautiful in all, suffering and pain. I miss you, come back to us.”
The deceased’s second child, Michael, said his mother was the strongest woman he ever knew.
“If we don’t have food to eat and we ask her what we will eat, she will say God will provide. She encourages my daddy, during the last year convention, she paid the transportation fee for a number of people while we have not known how we will go,” he said.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that about 123 condolence messages had been written in the register, including the message from the wife of the Vice-President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo.
Meanwhile, the husband of the deceased, Pastor Elisha Olawale, has said he will not file any charges against the perpetrators of the act if arrested, but will, instead, want them to repent.
Pastor Olawale further described his late wife, Eunice, as everything he had, adding that he would miss her absence.
Speaking with the publication on Monday, the husband of the deceased noted that he and his wife had been very open to each other, even on their individual financial stand.
According to him,
“as a pastor, we have been called to the ministry of reconciliation. If they arrest them (perpetrators), killing them won’t help, we are just helping the devil more.
“What I will suggest is that if they should preach to them, they should accept Christ, heaven has more gain, as long as my wife has gone to heaven, if they accept Christ, that will be myjoy.”
He further said “I will miss everything about my wife, she is my mother and my sister. Before she died, she knew what I have in my account and I knew what she had in her account. We have been open to each other. She is almost all we have.”

The man seen in these photos was nabbed yesterday in Lagos and beaten up by mobs after he claimed to be a rich man and tried to scam a lady of recharge cards worth N44,000.
An eyewitness named Olayinka Ayodeji Awoyemi on Facebook shared the story. He said:
So this plum middle age man (thief) was caught in my office complex today claiming to a young lady selling recharge cards, he own an office in the complex and one of the SUVs parked in the complex premises.
He then told the lady to bring all her recharge cards and told her to sit somewhere in the compound to calculate the total money while he inform his Secretary to bring her the money estimated to be around 44, 000 Naira. He even send the security guard to get him 5 pure water, that they need water in his office!
After, he climb the stairs into the building, return and tell the young lady that her money is on the way, she should wait for his Secretary. Very quickly this same man advanced to the gate and jumped into a Keke Napep but luckily for the lady who was highly observant, grabbed him by his shirt, pulled him off the keke and screamed on him.
He was then caught, given a light beating and has since been handed over to the Bode Thomas, Lagos Police unit. Ewo oju ole ….. plz people be very careful, so many tactics is been employed by these people this days. GOD continue to save us (amen)
