Comic fans around the world are waiting with bated breathe to see what Tom Holland’s performance as Spider-Man is going to be like – but the poor guy may have been outshone before he’s even webbed up his first bad guy.
Meet ‘Spider-Girl’, a gender bent, copyright infringing adaptation of everyone’s favourite wall-crawler straight from Nigeria’s version of Hollywood, Nollywood.
As I’m sure you can tell from the trailer Spider-Girl’s more than capable of going up against Marvel’s heavy hitters, swinging (or flying it’s hard to tell) through the jungle and battling criminals with her magical ability to produce cartoon string, or webs, again it’s hard to tell.
Absolutely stunning bride to be, Faramade or Rosemary Adejumobi, which she is most of the time called, was recently thrown a surprise shower organized by TML Events.
According to Helen Ozor, the shower was given the theme, “vintage” and everyone came dressed in Oleku, afro hair and wedges.
How the event was planned:
The bride was at the venue (the home of the groom’s uncle) seeing all the decor and preparation activities going on in the compound but thought it was for another bride (as she was told), knowing that the wife of their host is an event planner.
When enough of her friends arrived, she was tricked out of the house into the compound. She saw ladies whose backs were turned towards her. While wondering who they were or what was happening, they turned.
To her utmost surprise, they were her friends and it was her shower. Lots of exclamations, screams and hugs followed. She also had quite a number of accusations for her friends whom she said didn’t mention it to her. The event program followed shortly after she returned looking all traditionally glammed up.
The decoration, foods, drinks and games were not left out of the old school theme. Edibles included: Eko (cold pap/agidi) and moinmoin, ofada rice, as around (yam pottage), awin (local vit. C), garden eggs, kokoro, yoyo, shrimps, dundun (fried yam), zobo and lots more. Games varied to include ayo olopon, ten-ten, gele tying competition, tinko, old school dance etc .It was great fun all the way, the retro style.
Popular Nollywood actresses based in Yoruba part of the industry have been washing their dirty linen in public.
Screen diva Kemi Afolabi and controversial singer and actress, Seyi Ariyo popularly known as She Baby have been going at each other for over a week over another Actor, Odunlade Adekola who is happily married with four kids.
The fight started after Kemi Afolabi borrowed clothes from She Baby which she refused to return. She baby then sent a broadcast message on BBM where she revealed her issue with Kemi to her colleagues, in another message on her PM, she said;
“Kemi Afolabi, you are coward! Pic up snitch! Oloriburuku, you are a disgrace to Nollywood! Please return my clothes; your case is so pitiful. Get a life!”
This message caught the attention of the President of The Golden Movie Ambassadors of Nigeria(TMAN), Saidi Balogun, who appealed to She Baby to retract the message.
Reports however emanated from Kemi’s camp that claimed, She Baby was dating Odunlade Adekola and was just jealous cause of the closeness between them.
She Baby however slammed Kemi’s report calling her a blatant liar that wanted to cover the whole truth. She even went ahead of accusing Kemi who is also married of having a relationship with Odunlade.
Narrating her side of the story, the Oloso singer, as She Baby is also known said,”I had a movie shoot recently, and Kemi Afolabi happened to be one of the actors I used.
She ought to come 10 am,but she got to the location 5 pm. She had just three scenes with us,and I paid her fully already for her role. I was angry she already disrupted part of what we intended using her for because she didn’t come as scheduled. But was persuaded by my director to change her role which she finished around 10 pm.
“I lent her my clothes in the course of shooting. She now held on to the clothes as a bait, insisting I must pay for her accommodation which wasn’t in our budget. If she had come earlier as agreed, she would have been released in time because it’s just three scenes.
“Kemi now held on to my clothes for two about months. All efforts to get her on phone proved abortive. She wouldn’t reply all my messages neither would she pick my calls. After what seems like eternity, because we ain’t that close,I was feeling uncomfortable leaving the clothes with her.I decided to call her friend,Sikiratu Sindodo and reported Kemi to her. And Sindodo persuaded me that it will be settled.
“Until I called Kemi, and she yelled at me. Andshe was angry that I reported her. She now insisted she won’t give me the clothes until I pay for the said hotel room which wasn’t in our contract. All further efforts to get the clothes proved difficult, and I was angry.I later wrote on my PM about the clothes and Saidi Balogun intervened. And I pulled it down immediately. Later,Saidi went to get the clothes from her. But the truth of the matter is that I can’t put the clothes on again. That’s all. And she went on her Instagram page, writing all sorts of things to attract public pity. Kemi Afolabi is a blatant liar”.
Talking about her alleged romance with Odunlade, she said;
”Dating Odun? That’s rubbish. What’s my business with Odun?Everybody knows it’s Kemi who is dating Odun. So,why can we be fighting over Odunlade?I am happily married to cry it aloud”.
Kemi was also cornered by the media and in a brief chat with Encomium, she said;
“I don’t want to make any further comment on the issue.I am too busy for that. I have a lot things I am doing now. So,I can’t be talking on any trivial issue of such. She Baby is the one looking for cheap publicity.
“She is a producer,I am an actor. I was on her location and she refused to pay for my hotel accommodation. And it’s true I had her clothes with me in my car,but I told her to pay for my hotel which she refused. Anyway,I have responded on my Instagram page. You can check details about the whole thing.”
When questioned about her romance with Odunlade, she said;
”That’s not true. I am a married woman, how can I be fighting over a married man?Odunlade Adekola is also married. You should know it’s just a fiction. I am not dating Odunlade Adekola.”
All efforts to contact Odunlade Adekola for comments have failed.

By the way, have you noticed that all the comedians in Nigeria married very beautiful women. Every single one of them! Gone are the days when comedians were considered broke and undesirable.
Mavin Records CEO, Don Jazzy, was caught ”flirting” with a beautiful girl on Twitter, by first admiring her and then asking her for a follow back so he could send her a DM.
Some of his followers caught up on this and made the conversation viral..

A widower, identified as Mr Solomon Wilfred has claimed that his wife, Vivienne, who was six-week pregnant, died from “emotional stress” after she was released from Police custody… The Nation reports.
Wilfred, who got married to the late Vivienne last December, said she was taken to Akinpelu Police Station in Oshodi on March 15 by a policeman following an argument with another woman, Chinwendu Udomadu over a teenage girl, Perpetual Ucheweaku at the nearby Arena Market.
Mrs Udomadu and her daughter, Chinemerem, claimed that Perpetual was Osinachi Udomadu, who had been missing since 2014. The late Mrs Wilfred debunked their claim, saying the girl is under her guidance. She added that she knew the girl’s parents, and had known the girl since she was about eight years old.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Akinpelu was said to have transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Panti, Yaba, claiming that it was a criminal case which could not be handled at his station.
Wilfred told the publication that at Panti, his wife was detained in a cell while he wrote a statement. He said he begged to swap places with her since she was pregnant and “suffers stress induced seizures”.
“I told them she was pregnant and sick. I told them she had stress induced seizures, and I went upstairs to write the statement for me to swap places with her.
But when I came back, they had thrown her into the cell.
“I even thought they put her behind the counter to wait for me to write the statement, but she was in the cell.
“Then I told them to release her because I already told them she was not feeling fine”, he said.
Wilfred said his wife died on March 16, following her release the previous day. Police spokesperson Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent (SP), said the late Mrs Wilfred was released on health grounds and was never put in the cell.
“She was never put in the cell and she was released by the ACP SCID immediately her husband said she was six weeks pregnant and has health challenges.
“The ACP later called and told me that she has been informed the woman fainted at home and was rushed to the hospital where she passed on,” she said.
But the widower said the “emotional stress” she went through in the cell, and his subsequent detention triggered the seizure that led to her death.
Badmos said:
“The police did nothing wrong in the matter. The suspects (Chinwendu and Chinemerem Udomadu) have been charged to court and the result of the DNA test is still being awaited.”
The South- South wing of the party has criticised Dolapo Osinbajo the wife of the Vice President for using the presidential private jet to fly out to commiserate with displaced people of the Agatu herdsmen crisis.
Should she have walked there?!
It doesn’t end there, they have also criticized her for making such a costly trip to make a small donation of food items. Mrs Osinbajo is said to have donated only 8 bags of rice, a couple of boxes of Indomie Noodles, Milk, oil and several other “small” food items.

A housewife, Mrs. Oghosa Ejemai, who allegedly lost her seven-week-old pregnancy following an attack by officials of the Edo state government, Wednesday threatened to sue the State Government for the sum of N100 million for assault.
Mrs Ejemai who spoke in Benin when she was presented to journalists by the Publicity Secretary of the Edo State chapter of the PDP, Chris Nehikhare, at the state secretariat of the party, also claimed to have sustained injuries, as well as lost her goods during the alleged attack.
She singled out the State Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Isimeme Iriogbe as the one who supervised her alleged beating and assault along with his staff.
She explained that she was in her shop at 14, Mission Road, Benin City, at about 5:00p.m. on February 2, 2016, when some people led by the Commissioner stormed her shop and started packing her wares, adding that, in an attempt to prevent the commissioner and his team from taking her goods, she was slapped and hit.
“They tried to push me into a vehicle, hit my head and fired shots into the air. People came to my aid that day. I was taken to the Benin Central Hospital after which I reported the case at Oba Market Police Station.
“The third day, I started bleeding. So I went to the hospital. At the hospital, the doctor confirmed that I had lost my seven-week-old pregnancy.
“When they called me to come and pick my goods, I only saw about five per cent of the goods taken from my shop. They told me to take whatever was available as they don’t usually release seized goods,” she narrated.
Commenting on the plight of the woman, Edo PDP’s spokesman, Nehikhare, said members of the PDP could not fold their arms and watch Governor Oshiomhole and his agents unleash terror on the people of the state, adding that, the governor has a knack for dehumanizing citizens and residents of the state.
But in a swift reaction, the Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Iriogbe said Mrs. Ejemai was trading along the walkway and had attacked officials who came to clear the walkway of traders and their wares.
“She was trading along the walkway and she accosted the officials that were clearing the walkway. She almost tore the dress of one of the women who was removing the wares. By going to the PDP for her press conference, it means her blocking the walkway was political.
“I expect her to be at the court and we shall meet there because the court is for everybody. I acted decently and I did not beat her,” he said
The Egypt Air hijacker’s former wife has branded him a jobless drug addict and claimed their five-year was ‘a living hell‘. Seif Eldin Mustafa wore a fake suicide vest and forced a passenger jet to be redirected to Cyprus to see her.
Mustafa demanded to see his ex-wife Marina Paraschou. He was pictured handed a four-page ‘love letter’ penned for Marina to a female airport official who had her head in her hands, looking mortified.
In her first interview since Tuesday’s drama Marina reveals how she married a violent, unemployed bully who was cruel to her and their three children.
She added the world has been painted a picture of a man who hijacked a plane for love – but says it could not be further from the truth.
‘Most of the media painted a picture of a romantic situation in which a man was trying to reach out to his estranged wife,’ she told Cypriot newspaper Phileleftheros.
‘But that couldn’t be further from the truth and they would have a different opinion if they knew what he was really like.’It was a marriage of hell with threats, beatings, torture and fear. He was a man who knew how to inflict fear and to create misery around him. He was unbalanced and a scary person.’
Marina, 51, met Mustafa in 1983, when she was 18 years old, and married him two years later.
During their seven years together the couple had three children, but Ms Paraschou still describes them as the ‘darkest chapter in my life’.
She says the couple lived with her parents on Cyprus during their marriage, but unemployed Mustafa never provided financially to the family.
The couple divorced in 1990 and Mustafa left Cyprus for Egypt in 1994 where he was jailed for forgery and fraud.
He broke out of prison in 2011 amid the chaos during the uprising against Egyptian president Muhammad Hosni El Sayed Mubarak.
Ms Paraschou, from Oroklini, a village near Larnaca Airport, said called Mustafa, who was by then back in Egypt, to tell him one of their children had died in an accident.
‘I called him [to tell him of out child’s death] and all he could say was “What do I care?”‘, she said. ‘I can assure you, he never cared about me or his children – both when he was in Cyprus and after he left. The only thing he gave was pain, unhappiness and fear.’
After his capture, prosecutors said he told police:
‘What’s someone supposed to do when he hasn’t seen his wife and children in 24 years and the Egyptian government won’t let him?’
Egyptian authorities have now requested Mustafa’s extradition in order to prosecute him in his own country, state media reported.
It is believed he had not seen his wife and their four children since around 1994 after he moved to Egypt but was imprisoned on forgery and fraud charges.
The police in Lagos have apprehended a chief in the Ijegun area, identified only as Ajiroba, for allegedly assaulting a bread seller, Bukola Olasunkanmi, in the Isheri-Oshun area of the state.
It was gathered by PUNCH Metro that Olasunkanmi, who was seven-month-old pregnant, was allegedly flogged several times by the chief and his thugs because she mediated in an argument involving some levy collectors and another bread seller at the Ijegun bus stop.
Olasunkanmi, who sustained injuries, was first rushed to a private hospital, and later taken to the Igando General Hospital. It was gathered that the matter was reported at the Isheri Oshun division and Ajiroba was arrested by the police.
Olasunkanmi claimed that after she reported the matter to the police, she had been receiving threat-to-life phone calls, which made her to write a petition to the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, and the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in Zone 2, Onikan, Bala Hassan.
Speaking with the publication, Olasunkanmi said she had been asked to report at the general hospital daily for checkups to ensure that the assault did not affect the pregnancy.
She said:
“I work as a mobile bread vendor, and the assault happened on March 11, 2016, while I was supplying bread to a customer at the Ijegun bus stop. At a point in the transaction, I noticed that another bread vendor had thrown her wooden tray on the bonnet of my car.
“I realised that she was being harassed by some local levy collectors operating in the area. I intervened by pleading with the collectors to let her go as she strapped a baby to her back, I said, ‘Leave this woman alone.’
“It was at this point that one Chief Ajiroba, accompanied by four hoodlums, emerged from a corner with a cane and began to flog me. I was beaten like a criminal at the bus stop despite being pregnant.
“I ran to the Isheri Osun division and reported the matter. Policemen thereafter followed me to the chief and he was detained that day. Although the chief has apologised to me, my fear is that strange people have been visiting my residence since the ecounter.
“Most of them warned me that my life was no longer safe as I dared to report a chief to the police. I want the police to help me out and ensure that justice is served in this matter. I go almost every day to the Igando General Hospital for checkups.”
It was gathered that the police had granted Ajiroba bail, but he was asked to still report at the station. When contacted on the telephone, Ajiroba said that he had not met Olasunkanmi before that day. He added that Olasunkanmi and the bread seller were fighting and he flogged the two.
He said:
“I did not know she was pregnant. I did not know her before that day. I saw two women fighting at the bus stop and I flogged both of them. I have been begging her to drop this matter.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest. She said:
“A case of assault occasioning harm was reported against the suspect.
“Investigation is ongoing. The command will ensure that justice is done.”

A motorist was arrested after driving six miles – with his screaming wife on the roof. Richard Addy reportedly told police he had rowed with his wife after leaving a restaurant and claimed to have no idea she was there.
The 69-year-old was arrested and charged with reckless driving after officers stopped him in the town of Stuart, in Florida.
According to a police report, officers stopped Addy in the early hours of March 22 after noticing “a female riding on top of a vehicle as the vehicle came to a stop”
Police helped the woman, identified as Addy’s wife, off the roof.
Addy reportedly told officers he and his wife had argued after drinks at a restaurant in Palm City and at a bar at a resort on Hutchinson Island.
The couple were staying at the resort because of work being done to their Palm City home. After an altercation at the resort, Addy said he decided to leave.
But he claims to have had no idea that his wife had managed to climb on to the roof of the 2011 Toyota SUV.
“Addy stated at the first traffic light after the Sewall’s Point bridge, he heard her banging on the roof and realised that she was there,” a report states.
Bizarrely, the police reports claim he then carried on driving with her on the roof because he did not have a mobile phone to call police.
Who knew that the duo were close friends… It’s hard to see Kim Kardashian with lady friends that have that her “selling point” feature… her derriere!

Beautiful Hollywood singer and actress, Kelly Rowland‘s closet is certainly not the average walk-in closet.
The gorgeous star has shown off a sneak peek of her very artsy closet to The Coveteur Magazine.
The shoot done in her West Hollywood home shows a unique arrangement of key pieces.. According to the magazine:
Rowland’s closet was exactly as you’d imagine it to be. The singer’s style perfectly straddles the line between cozy neutrals and laidback basics and the more dialed-up pieces you’d probably expect—plus one seriously epic shoe collection, which is heavy on the Saint Laurent, Gianvito Rossi, Tom Ford, Aquazzura and Céline, housed alongside her collection of Grammys (casual). After raiding every square inch of her dressing room, we got to talking, covering everything from beauty advice from Tina Knowles to the best burger euros can buy when in Paris and even contouring mishaps.
Speaking on her love for fashion, she says:
“[I learned to love fashion and beauty by] watching my mom. My mother was the woman who had every single makeup anything—she wanted it in every color, she wanted to make sure it was waterproof. My mom had everything. Then I met B’s mom, Tina. Tina is just glamorous. She always wore her red lipstick and her orange lipstick, and I remember I was scared to try those colors, and she was like, ‘Are you kidding me? Wear whatever you wanna wear!’ She put orange lipstick on me, red lipstick on me, and she just made me feel that it didn’t matter what shade I was—I could try anything. She made me feel like I could try it all!”

But this mural is a bit over the top to say the least.
An Australian artist is in desperate need to get his hands on some Yeezys and some fast cash and he’s using his own art to get exactly what he wants.
Scott Marsh painted a 20-foot mural of Kanye West kissing himself on a building in Sydney. The mural is a popular Photoshopped meme of an original image of Kanye West kissing his wife Kim Kardashian.
Marsh is now using this painting to demand $100,000 as well as a lifetime supply of Yeezy Boost sneakers.
According to Daily Mail the artist was recently contacted by a member from Kanye’s camp who was willing to pay quite a bit of money to have the mural removed. Apparently, this decent chunk of money didn’t quite sit well with Marsh so he in turn requested $100k and a lifetime supply of Yeezys. We’ll of course, keep you posted to see if Marsh’s request has yet been granted.

Controversial daughter of the Former Governor of Oyo State, Kemi Olunloyo is back in the news yet again with more controversy.
This time around the Journalist has taken her controversy to the clerics as she comes for Pastor E.A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and Bishop Oyedepo of Winners Chapel.
“Pastor Adeboye killed a Cop in 1971; I am saying it on camera.
“In 1971, Adeboye thought he was shooting an armed robber, but he shot a cop instead,” she said.
Olunloyo added that Pastor Adeboye criticizes single mothers’ and that is why she keeps going after him on social media.
“Adeboye said if you are a single mother you have no worth; I am a single mother, we have worth, we don’t have to be married,” Olunloyo said.
“You don’t have to be married to have children,” she added.
She further lamented on how he criticizes women who bleach or whiten their skins and how a woman can be fulfilled without being married.
“I drove a $55,000 Toyota Land Crusier in America, I made a $150,000 annually as a pharmacist, not adding what I made as a journalist.
“I was featured on Vogue in 1995 on a financial article,” she bragged.
“So why would he say I have no worth? That’s the only reason I am going after him.”
She also took a step further to drag T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations into the controversy as she granted Pulse TV an interview.
Mr Samuel Olorunfemi Adams side of the story:
We got a phone call phone Mr Samuel Olorunfemi Adams asking us to take the story down as it was affecting his image, He also stated that many of his colleagues have been trying to reach him on the issue which is very embarrassing.
Here’s an excerpt of the conversation between Mr Adams and TheNews.NG’s correspondent Olawale Adeniyi
Mr Adams: Hello, good afternoon my name is Mr Samuel Olorunfemi Adams there’s a story on your news platform stating that I harrased a student of Uniabuja. The story is all lie, please i need you to take it down I am innocent.
TheNews.NG: Sir, we can’t take the story down just like that, its against the ethics of balanced reporting, we need to speak to the two parties involved to ascertain that you are truely innocent. would you be willing to tell us your side of the story?
Mr Adams: Yes
TheNews.NG: please tell us exactly what happened?
Mr Adams: On the day the incident happened, I instructed students to move the next hall to write their exam every other student moved but she refused. she stated that i was a wicked lecturer and that she’s heard a lot about me and that she was not going to move in the course of that her phone fell and broke.
TheNews.NG: She said you broke the phone?
Mr Adams: Here’s what happened, she asked me t give her the phone and i insisted that she fill the exam malpracices booklet, she refused, she insulted my family, she said my family couldn’t afford a Blackberry phone this got me angry, so I smashed it on the ground.
TheNews.NG: Did you flog her with your belt?
Mr Adams: No I did not, I only tried to scare her with the belt and the belt mistakenly touch her. Then she jacked my collar.
TheNews.NG: Why did you insist that she fill an examination malpractices form since the offence she commited was not related to exam malpractice?
Mr Adams: You see in exam there are rules and regulations, she was given the form because she disobeyed a lecturer and it is against the school rule. I instructed her to leave the hall and go to the next hall but she refused, secondly she held my collar and it was her fellow students who rescued me from her.
TheNews.NG: But that is still not exam malpractice, why insist on an exam malpractice form?
Mr Adams: keeps mute
TheNews.NG:Peradventure you both meet in the court of law over this matter do you have any witness in your favour?
Mr Adams: I don’t have witnesses i don’t know any of the students, please I just visited your website the story is still there, when are you going to take it down?
TheNews.NG: We wont take it down until investigations into the case are concluded.
Here’s an excerpt of the conversation between Kemi Obaditan and TheNews.NG’s correspondent
TheNews.NG:Can you tell us exactly what happened?
Kemi: On the 11th of December 2011 U came into school that morning to write a Chemistry examination scheduled to hold that day at 9am. The exam started at the time stated and while I sat in the hall assigned by my department for her students, Mr. Samuel Olorunfemi Adams came in to speak with the invigilator on duty while the answer booklet was being shared. He requested that half of the students should follow him upstairs to the main library where his own students who, at that time, were going to write a statistics course so he can shuffle us between them. Unfortunately, I was among those who had to move up with them. When I got upstairs I had a chair and did not have a table in the exam hall, hence I decided to go get a table. By the time I returned with the table, Mr. Samuel Olorunfemi Adams refused my entry into the exam hall.
I told him I was among the students he took from the hall downstairs to join his students.
My pleas fell on deaf ears until one of my colleague was able to help me pass my exam booklet and exam card to me.
TheNews.NG:Mr claim that he did not flog you that he only scared you with his belt that you were the one who locked him by the collar?
Kemi: thats’s a lie, while I was begging him he lost his cool and pulled out his belt from his pants and began to flog me mercilessly. how could I have fought a man bigger than me?
TheNews.NG:He claim he broke your phone because you insulted him?
Kemi: Thats not true, because I refused to fill the exam malpractices booklet Mr. Adams told me to take a last look at my phone and he smashed it on the ground to pieces. My colleagues who witnessed the incident gasped and he made sure he gave all of them -10 marks on their script. I have witnesses.
TheNews.NG: Did you reach out to the school authority on the matter?
Kemi: Yes, after the incident my father wrote the school up copying the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellor and the Dean of Student Affairs that he would like them to look into my matter. I came into school on a Monday morning and I was told to report to the Deans office for an emergency meeting. In the meeting, there was the Dean, Head of department, Head of examinations and a few other lecturers. I was still not granted a fair hearing. Instead, I was told and I quote “We know you know people, and your Dad is well connected, but if you want to graduate in this school you cannot fight your lecturer and win. You have to drop this case. I walked out with tears in my eyes and my heart was heavy with much pain. I felt the school failed me, the women in the meeting failed me even with the obvious bruises I had on my body. Afterwards, I did agree to drop the case because I wanted to graduate. I was frustrated throughout my four years in the university.
TheNews.NG:What do you want now?
I want justice to prevail for the sake of innocent students like myself who are constant victim of abuse by wicked lecturers.
After speaking to both parties involved, there are so many questions begging for answers.
1) Mr Adam claim that he broke her phone because she insulted him, a claim she denied. Even if she did, was he supposed to smash her phone?
2) Mr Adam denied flogging her, in his word ” i only tried to scare her away with my belt then it touched her” How true is this statement
3) Why did Mr Adams and the authority insist that she fill an exam malpractice booklet when the alleged offence had nothing to do with exam malpractice
This and more questions are begging for answers. The world is watching, justice must prevail
