Brittaney Lynn Shane, a girl from Alabama, U.S., was in a relationship with someone who pointed out her every flaw. She allowed him to dictate her hairstyle, her makeup, and even her weight. The girl couldn’t find the strength to leave the relationship behind.
Eventually, Brittaney was left for a “prettier” girl.
At this point, she could have turned down a dangerous path of self-hate and self-harm. But instead, Brittaney writes the perfect response to him on Facebook!

“You always told me I didn’t look good with long hair and that you preferred girls with short hair. So I kept my hair cut above my shoulders at all times.
You laughed at me and told me I looked ridiculous when I dyed my hair red when we were together. So a week later I dyed it back blonde.”
“You would always point out if I was wearing too much makeup. (Winged eyeliner and mascara most of the time) So I just stopped wearing it.
You told me tattoos and piercings were tacky and ugly. And would try to take out my belly button ring every time you saw it. So I took out my piercings and didn’t get any more tattoos.
You pointed out my stretch marks every chance you got. So I did my best to keep them hidden.”
“You pointed out every time I looked like I had gained weight. So I started eating less every day. You pointed out every single flaw I had. So I lost every bit of confidence I had.
I did everything I could to be what you wanted. I did everything you told me to do. It still wasn’t good enough. You left me for a younger prettier girl.
Someone you could mold and shape into what you wanted. Like you tried to do with me. And up until a few months ago I blamed myself for everything that happened. You blamed me too.
But finally I started to see the truth.”
“You weren’t out of my league. I was out of yours. I wasn’t the one who wasn’t good enough for you.
You were the one who wasn’t good enough for me. You couldn’t accept me for who I was. When I took you the way you were.”
“So now here I am a few months later. My hair is past my shoulders. My hair is bright red. I’ve got a new tattoo. New piercings. Started wearing makeup again. I eat whatever I want whenever I want and weigh 135 pounds. I still have my stretch marks.
And I’ve finally gotten my confidence back. I finally see myself looking back at me when I look in the mirror.
It’s so hard for me to come out about this and admit that I became so vulnerable because of one guy. Something I always said would never happen.
It’s humiliating to even think about how low I got. But what gives me the guts to come out about this is the fact that I overcame it and I’m finally back to who I really am.”
Brittaney’s public declaration of self-love is something everyone should see. She may be young, but she’s already inspiring thousands of people.

The Catholic Church has explained why it transferred fiery man of God, Father Ejike Mbaka of the Enugu-based Adoration Ministry.
The church said Mbaka’s transfer was not politically motivated as claimed by some persons, saying the controversial priest was only relocated to where he would be more useful to the ministry.
The Secretary-General of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Reverend Father Ralph Madu, who made this clarification in an interview with Premium Times on Monday, said transfer of priests within the Catholic Church is a “normal church procedure.”
“Mbaka’s own is not an exception. The Bishop has the right to post any priest wherever he feels his service would be more useful to the church,” the cleric said.
Madu was apparently replying to a statement credited to the All Progressives Congress, where it claimed Mbaka’s relocation to Emene was fueled by his recent prophecies about the state of the nation.
Also father Mbaka had in his farewell speech admitted that he was going to suffer in his new place of assignment.
He said, “I know we are going to suffer within now and few months to come,” the priest said. I am going to suffer and suffer; I know that. I’m going to suffer because I have no place to put my head. I am going to suffer because I have no place to keep the Adoration Ministry’s assets. I know I’m going to suffer.”
On Sunday, the South-East zone of the All Progressives Congress alleged that Bishop Callistus Onaga was manipulated by external forces into effecting Mr. Mbaka’s transfer.
“As a party, we have watched with concern and trepidation the criticism, the attack, assault and unpleasant comments hurled against Fr. Mbaka since he providentially prophesied that President Buhari would win the 2015 elections,” the APC said in a statement by Osita Okechukwu, Spokesperson of its South-East caucus.
“Even the church did not spare him; he was called unprintable names, yet his prophecy came true,” the party claimed in a statement.
Reacting, Madu said “such frivolities have nothing to do with the posting.”
“His posting should have been a privilege, not a punishment – which the Bishop can do because he has the power.
“If he (Mbaka) says it’s a punishment, then it’s open for further investigation. Posting is a regular thing, a priest can be transferred after two, three, four, or more years, it depends on the discretion of the Bishop.
“That ministry (Adoration Ministry) is his private ministry, it does not belong to the church. Overseeing a parish is a full time job. Overseeing a ministry is a bigger task. If the church decides to take him somewhere where he’ll have more time to carry out his ministry, how is it punitive? That should not be the language.”
“He is supposed to be a missionary. “What if the Bishop had closed down the ministry, which is within his power to do? Sometimes, transfers can be for the good of the priest as something can be going wrong which he might not be aware of. The Bishop is free to move any priest at any time, it is his prerogative,” he explained.
We’re talking about the teensy-tiny fifth pocket above a normal-sized pocket on the front of your jeans.
Editors at the Yahoo Canada office have used it for everything from lipstick to subway tokens to “tiny snacks,” but we’ve often wondered what it’s really for.
Wonder no more! It’s a watch pocket.
According to Perth Now, the always-pressing question was revisited in a Quora thread, where people have been discussing the mystical fifth pocket for years.
“The first blue jeans had four pockets—only one in back and, in the front, two plus the small watch pocket,” explains a Levi’s blog post. Originally included as protection for pocket watches, thus the name, this extra pouch has served many functions, evident in its many titles: frontier pocket, condom pocket, coin pocket, match pocket and ticket pocket, to name a few.”
The pocket dates back to the oldest pair of jeans in the Levi’s archive, Levi’s historian Tracey Panek tells Huffington Post. And those jeans are from 1879!

A primary school teacher identified as Evi Iwah, pictured above, has narrated how some robbers attacked her, took her ATM card and cleared her account in the early hours of Saturday January 30th.
She narrated her story to The Nation.
“It happened a few minutes to 6.00am; I’d boarded a bus supposedly to Oshodi from Obanikoro. No sooner had the bus moved than they sprang into action. The first thing they did was grab my phone; ‘What do you do? Where are you coming from?’one of them asked.
I was hopeful that they’d take pity on me, having told them I was just a primary school teacher.
Why bother to ask if it meant nothing to them? After rummaging through my wallet, they found two ATM cards and some cash. The question that followed hit me with a bang. ‘What’s your pin number?’ Instinctively, I hesitated for a while, but a resounding slap on my face soon got me spilling it out. These guys were actually going to do the unimaginable. They were going to clear my account.
To think that I was about experiencing stories that had seemed far away. I looked up in time to see another member of the gang, sitting in the front seat. They called him officer. I don’t know if he was some military officer or if the name was just a code name. Even though I was still a little dazed from the slap, I couldn’t but notice the gun that hung loosely in the man’s hand, as he spoke to his colleague.
He quickly handed the ATM cards to another member who played the role of a bus conductor. The driver slowed down at my inquisitor’s command, and the bus conductor jumped off the bus on his way to emptying my accounts. I silently wished I had payed the money into my friend’s account, he had asked me to do so to avoid spending it, since I’m saving towards paying my rent.
Meanwhile, while we awaited the arrival of the messenger, the bus kept going round and round. In the process, the two women I met on the bus were told to disembark, and two others, a guy and his girlfriend were picked up at the next stop. They were lucky, as they didn’t have any ATM card on them.
They were ripped of their phones and the only one thousand Naira note the guy had on him. They had also searched the lady who came on at the same time as I did. Obviously they didn’t get much from her. I was their sacrificial lamb. Soon my phone beeped – an indication that the money had been withdrawn.
Then they drove back to the spot where they had dropped off the bus conductor, picked him up and drove off. By all means, it was a smooth operation, and we were home-bound now. I silently prayed that they dropped me off at a safe place.
All along, I didn’t know where we were because I had been sitting on the floor of the bus. Suddenly, the bus pulled to a stop and we were all told to alight. I discovered that they had dropped us at the toll-gate.
My inquisitor who had promised to give me transport money to take me home had either forgotten or couldn’t care less. They zoomed off as soon as we were all out of the bus. I stood there thinking of how to get to my place in Gbagada, until one good Nigerian who happened to be passing by came to my rescue by giving me N100, my exact fare home.”

Singer, Emma Nyra shared this inspiring message on social media earlier today where she advised women to lift each other up instead of bringing each other down.
She wrote;
Ladies this message is for you. I think it’s sad that every single day, I receive negative and constructive criticism from women who have never constructed anything. Every single thing I do is criticized because I’m In the public eye, fair enough that’s what I signed up for in order to be a female artist. You may also want to understand why I am successful and why I will always be successful. It is because of women! The women who have dedicated their time and talent to work with me, Collab with me, and advise me. The women that look after their fellow woman by building her up, instead of tearing her down. This is why men are successful because they help each other grow. The most important woman in my life (my mom) is a very successful business woman and my whole life I watched her take criticism from women who tried to bring her down. She handled it all with a smile and killed them with success. I wrote this to challenge women. This year as a woman, challenge yourself to support other women around you. Mentor younger girls and make them stronger. Lift each other up. Define womanhood. 2016#YearofTheWoman

He hasn’t been active since she died, but has finally come out to thank those who reached out to him, as well as eulogise the memory of his darling mum.
He wrote:
THANK YOU! I wanna use this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who reached out to me and my family on the sudden passing of my gift, my rock, my backbone, my pride, my teacher; my dear mother! I had the the divine opportunity of spending her very last days with her. And I spoke to her on the phone barely an hour before she left for glory. Please don’t mourn with me anymore. Celebrate her life. Though she was only 58, She left us all with so much that all I need to do is pause and listen and her voice hits me with what to and what not to do. I may not see her again physically. But she lives in me now. And those vices I hid from her as a human being, I can’t do anymore because as a saint, she sees and knows all. ?. Rest in peace to my beautiful mother, Dr. Margaret Ugboma. Me, Zino, Tano, Tome and Jiji will always love you. Once again, thanks to all of you. Your messages made us strong. Time to wash, pray and eat. Bless!!!!
Residents of Mwiki in Kasarani, Kenya were treated to a free movie yesterday afternoon when two women slugged it out with their fists over a man.
Residents who of course were enjoying the scene of the fight didn’t intervene or try to separate them, perhaps, its a norm in their city to fight over men?
Fresh New collaboration From Ghana, Fuse ODG linked up with reggae/dancehall act – Shatta Wale on this Killbeatz produced cut entitled “Laugh Out Loud”
Dakore Akande who is popular for movies like “Fifty,” “Lunchtime Heroes” among others, was recently a guest at Pulse TV, where she dished out on everything interesting you would love to hear from her.
From 5 things people don’t know about her to her top 5 Nollywood actors, watch actress’ full interview with Pulse Nigeria.
Read excerpts; On returning to the industry after a long break;
“My work isn’t done yet, it never was, it just kind of happened that way. It wasn’t something that I thought of and said ‘ok, it’s gonna be five years, I’m gonna take time off,” No. Life doesn’t really happen that way. It just happened, and my kids came quickly.
I’m happy, now I’m a mum of two, I’m more settled, but I had to even power through that to come back to work, and that was tough, it took a lot of guts.”
Giving credit to her fans, the actress said; “they would send me messages on my website and on Facebook “where are you, we miss you.” I think that kind of really touched me, and I was like ‘wow, so this is really important, like it’s not just a hobby.”
It made me feel like I made enough impact in the industry to be missed. It helped me make up my mind and say ‘you know what, I still have work to do.” And I found out that I’m not the kind of woman that’s happy just being at home.
I’m a creative, I need to be doing something creative. I’m happy that I have done that, and I can show people that it can be done, as far as you are determined, focused and have a good support system, which I’m happy to have.
On getting a good role in Nollywood;
“Extremely difficult. It’s like once in a lifetime. I’m grateful to be a part of “Fifty,” because it’s such a groundbreaking film on many levels – the fact of the box office, the fact that it sells out.
This is unheard of for a Nigerian film. It’s just amazing to be in such a project, because it shows the potentials that we have in our industry, and how people can catch on to certain trends that they didn’t even realize were there, and to touch a demographic of women and people in general.
So, it’s great, and it shows growth in Nollywood. But it’s slow. It’s a very slow growth, and I think it’s because it takes more people to make a film than for music. For music, you could just go to the studio and pretty much talk to the marketer and it’s out. But with film, you have to have a director, it’s a bigger animal.
It’s not a competition at the end of the day. What’s important is that our arts and culture industry in Nigeria is just at the forefront of labor. That’s what we really need to focus on”
On awards being a validation;
“I think it means different things to different people. I have been fortunate to have won awards, and it’s an amazing feeling. It’s a feeling of validation. It’s a feeling of respect, like ‘yes, I have arrived.’ But we have to be very careful, because sometimes, awards are very political, so you really should have a kind of fluid relationship with it.
“You have to still know who you are. You shouldn’t need the award to validate your work, especially when you are around people that are connoisseurs, and won’t just tell you you did a good job when you didn’t.
“So we have to be very careful because sometimes we struggle to win awards, and then you win the award, and it doesn’t do anything to your career. You have a lot of people who have won Oscars, and their career has sort of nosedived afterwards.
35 year old John Terry who has played for Chelsea all his life as a professional footballer has revealed that the club has refused to offer him a new deal thus he’ll be leaving at the end of the season.
Terry in a press statement revealed that though he will be be leaving Chelsea, he will move to a foreign League as he wouldn’t want to face his beloved club.
He also vowed he’ll try to bow out on a high with FA Cup success.
Read his press statement below:
“To be honest, I was in last week before the Arsenal game and it’s not going to be extended. It’s my last run in the FA Cup so I want to make it a good one,” he said after the 5-1 FA Cup victory over MK Dons.
“It’s a big season for me and I want to push on – not just in this competition but in the Premier League as well. I knew before the Arsenal game so mentally I’ve kind of accepted it. We just have to move on.
“They said that when the new manager comes in, things might change. It’s a no at the minute. I needed to know now like I have done every January and sometimes it takes a couple of months to get done.
“Unfortunately it was a no. It’s not going to be a fairytale ending, I’m not going to retire at Chelsea. It’s going to be elsewhere, which it took me a couple of days to get over.
“But like I say, I knew before the Arsenal game and my performance isn’t going to change – the way I train, what I give for the club. I want to give everything and finish on a high, on 100 per cent good terms with the club.
“We spoke about my legacy and coming back to the club when I finish. The most important thing now is to get us up the league.
“I didn’t feel as though I was playing great in the first four or five games of the season, like everyone in the team, and the performances showed that. But since then myself and everyone else has picked up back to where we are. All I can do is keep my head down and plug on because it’ll be my last year at the club.
“The club will move on. No player is ever bigger than the club. Ideally I would have loved to stay, but the club’s moving in a different direction. No doubt they’ll sign one or two great centre-backs.
“I want to come back as a Chelsea supporter in years to come with my kids and see the team doing great. Unfortunately that’s not going to be with me, but I want to see the team do well. It’s going to be my last year and I want to go out at the top.
“I couldn’t play for another Premier League club, I couldn’t do that to the Chelsea fans. It will be elsewhere for sure. I don’t know where and I leave that to the people in charge. It certainly won’t be in the Premier League.
“My agent made the call like we do every January. He got told over the phone and I called to set up a meeting the following day. The club immediately set that up, which was great of them to do that. I wanted to hear it face to face. They told me.
“I feel as though I’m in great nick, I’m playing great and I’ve got a couple of years to go. It’ll just be elsewhere.”
Drake has released a new single tagged Summer Sixteen and in the track he had a few words for the President of the United States, Barack Obama., Kanye West and Meek Mill
Recall In a Youtube Q&A earlier this month, Obama responded to questions ranging from movies to hip-hop.
When showed a photo of Kendrick Lamar and Drake, the music-loving president didn’t hesitate in making his choice known.

Other people who didn’t escape Drake’s words Meek Mill (of course) and Kanye West.
For Kanye West
“Now I got a house in LA,
Now I got a bigger pool than ‘Ye,
And look, man, ‘Ye’s pool is nice,
Mine is just bigger, is what I’m saying.”
For Meek Mill
“I let the diss record drop, you were standing right below me, (expletive).
We must have played it a hundred times, you was going to bed.
Why would I put on a vest? I expect you to aim for the head.
I could’ve killed you the first time,
You don’t have to try to say it louder, (expletive).”
If reports going round is true, then the love between Billionaire Sunny Aku and former beauty queen has gone to the gutters with with Ms Aku allegedly citing incompatibility among other irreconcilable differences as the reason for breaking up with her husband.
Apparently, this isn’t the first time the couple’s marriage has been trailed with rumors of split.
Recall In August last year, the former model and beauty queen was allegedly kicked out of their home because she was unfaithful to her husband, but she returned to social media with a video designed to prove the rumours false.
“Don’t let the media fool you,” she captioned the clip in which she was cuddling with Sunny Aku. “Fictions are necessary for the people, and the Truth becomes deadly to those who are not strong enough to contemplate it in all its brilliance. One love bebeeeesss.”
This time however, she has deleted all photos of her home, including that video with her husband, leaving only photos promoting her cosmetic line.
Dabota Lawson and Sunny Aku got married in December 2014 after dating for 6 months.
