Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is likely to undergo a minor kidney operation on Tuesday, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Messi, 28, missed the Club World Cup semifinal in December due to renal colic, a type of abdominal pain commonly caused by kidney stones, and will undergo further tests to be certain of the severity of ailment.

The five-time ballon d’Or winner featured for 90 minutes in Barca’s 2-0 win at Levante on Sunday, but was reportedly excused from training with the team on Monday and is a doubt for the club’s Copa del Rey semifinal second leg against Valencia on Wednesday.

Spanish daily Sport writes: “FC Barcelona striker Lionel Messi will undergo several tests on Monday and Tuesday to assess the evolution of the kidney problems he suffered last December. Messi will return to his normal duties with the first team on Wednesday.”

The defending Copa del Rey champions take a commanding 7-0 lead to the Mestella with Messi grabbing a hat-trick and Luis Suarez four in the Camp Nou rout.

Barcelona released a statement Monday explaining that Messi’s absence is due to “several tests” regarding his kidneys, but stopped short of saying he was having surgery:

“Leo Messi will be submitted for different tests on Monday and Tuesday to assess the development of the kidney problems suffered in December.

“On Wednesday the player will return to training with the first team.”

Messi has missed just one game for Luis Enrique’s men this year, as Barca have won 10 and drawn just one in all competitions.

An eight-year-old male leopard found its way into a private school in Bangalore, India, after possibly straying into the school from a patch of forest not far from the school.

It was spotted strolling inside the school premises by security camera before unleashing havoc and injuring six people during a near 10-hour long effort to capture the dangerous animal.

The leopard, which strolled into the Vibgyor International school, was eventually tranquillised and released. See more photos and watch the dramatic footage below.

Buhari is Not Sick, He Only Went To Rest – Femi Adesina

Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says contrary to opinion held by some people, Buhari’s five day vacation is for him to rest and that he is not sick.

Adesina who was a guest on Channels TV yesterday night, said Buhari had worked for eight straight months since he assumed office and needs rest

“Any man can fall sick, old or young, but the president is not sick, the president is well. The president has worked for more than eight months non-stop, and he felt it was time to take a respite and he asked for six days leave and he did it the proper way. He communicated it to the national assembly, handed over power to his deputy and nothing is wrong with that.”he said

He denied claims that Buhari’s vacation appeared sudden.

“Do you go on vacation because you are sick? You need respite from time to time and when you think it is time for respite, you take it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with his state of health. “Nigerians have been lied to for so long that they are now finding it difficult to believe the truth and that is the problem. You have told the truth yet they did not believe it because they have a carry-over of those who have lied to them for many decades but this government will not lie; it will tell the truth.”‎he said

Father of Man who was killed by his Ibadan-based Lawyer Wife dies

The family of Late Lowo Ajanaku, who was allegedly murdered by his wife, Yewande in Ibadan last tuesday has suffered another tragedy as The deceased foster father, Pa Oyewole Ajanaku died, Nigerian Tribune reports.

The death of Pa Oyediran, who was the patriarch of Ajanaku family, occurred in the early hours of Monday in Gbongan, the headquarters of Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State.

Nigerian Tribune authoritatively gathered that Pa Ajanaku, aged 89, may have died of high blood pressure after the news of the alleged murder of his son was broken to him.

A member of Ajanaku family, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the death of Pa Ajanaku at his residence at Owoope Area of Gbongan.

He hinted that Pa Ajanaku, though immediate senior brother to the real father of the late Lowo, took over his upbringing in 1990 when the deceased father died.

“But on hearing the sad news last week, the man who was the immediate senior brother of Lowo’s dad could not bear the shock. He developed complications and later died of high blood pressure in the early hours of Monday,” the source explained.

On Sunday, February 7, 2016, a dead child was allegedly raised back to life at the Mountain Miracle and Liberation Ministries, a.k.a Liberation City.

The occurrence which was like a scene from a Nollywood movie left everyone in the church stunned.

The 6-month old child said to have been ill for weeks was brought to the church by her parents for prayers. Unfortunately, the child gave up the ghost as soon as they arrived the church.

Her frantic parents eventually wept and pushed their way through to the podium where the man of God, Dr. Chris Okafor, ministered to other people, and he immediately took the child from them and prayed fervently.

Then he dropped the child on the altar and commanded her spirit to come back and the child moved!

The congregation exploded in tumultuous praise as the child continued to move and even later drank some water!

Hannah Yarker, 20, gave birth to twin girls who have different skin tones. One of the girl’s inherited her mum’s fair complexion, while the other took after her dad who is mixed race.

Hannah says her black and white daughters now turn heads whenever she takes them out.

She constantly has to explain that the 10 month old girls are hers and that they are in fact twins as it is a rare occurrence, said to have a million to one chance of happening.

She spoke on the attention they got and how happy she is to have one of each, she said:

“Kyle is mixed-race and I’m white, so from the word go, our friends joked: ‘What would you do if one came out dark and the other was fair?’ Laughing it off, I replied ‘I don’t think it’s very likely!’ Now our girls turn heads wherever they go and it is not just because they are so cute”,

“I can’t walk down the aisle at the supermarket without getting stopped. People always comment, ‘Are they both yours?’, ‘are they sisters’, ‘are they related? As well as looking different Anaya and Myla are already developing their own personalities”. Myla is always on the move, she’s already crawling, although backwards, while Anaya’s more laid back”,

“We can’t believe they’re twins, they’ve got the same birthday and the same mum and dad but they’re just complete opposites in every way.”

She added:

“At first, both the girls had a purple tone to their skin, but they looked darker so I assumed they’d both taken after Kyle. But after two weeks, it was clear Myla takes after her dad with dark skin, brown eyes and brunette locks, while Anaya is more of a mummy’s girl with a pale complexion, fair hair and light eyes. We couldn’t believe it. Kyle and I told all of our relatives and friends, ‘We’ve got one of each.

One half of musical duo P-Square, Peter Okoye just disclosed that Super Eagles/Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi played under him at Pepsi Football Academy in Jos, Plateau State.

The star said this while visiting Chelsea Football Club team at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

According to him, Mikel was his junior at the academy 20 years ago.

“John Mikel Obi, who was my junior 20yrs ago at Pepsi Football Academy in Jos Plateau State.

This brought back a lot of great and good memories to me. In case you don’t know we both attended and played 20yrs ago at Pepsi Football Academy in Jos. I used to play for the under-15 team while he was playing for under-10.

And he is one of the reason I am a Chelsea great fan today. And am so proud of you bro. Remain blessed homie and we will keep representing Jos town,”
