Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his partner, Chioma, have taken their love to a whole new level as they tattoo each other’s names on their fingers.

The couple who are reported to have secretly tied the knot went beyond using just wedding bands as a symbol of their love and got tattoos of each other’s names on their ring fingers.

Chioma’s name was inked on Davido’s finger, while Chioma also had her lover’s name, Davido, boldly written on her finger.

A video of the two showing off their tattoos found its way to the internet and stirred reactions from fans.

The mother of four, while speaking on the latest episode of her YouTube cooking show, revealed she had a cancer scare just six months after the birth of her fourth child.

Mercy, who had veteran actress Joke Silva on the show, had asked about her husband, Olu Jacobs’, health, and that led to the conversation about Mercy’s own health struggles.

She narrated how she was put on medication for life and had her thyroid removed.

“… Odi [her husband] and I have actually been here and I have never discussed it where we had, like uhm, a scare. I had a cancer scare in quote and I had like my thyroid removed. And it was like a journey for us because we had kids.

My last was six months at that time and then we kept on saying “okay, we have to understand that this is the new us, let’s go get the surgery done”. And then we got there, they said I was going to be on medication for the rest of my life and it was a reality that we had to sit down.

You know, them giving me a timing and telling me you can’t miss your medication. Once you wake up that day, that’s the first thing. Telling me all of the side effects. Ijeoma Akunyili, the daughter of former director-general of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and ex-minister of information, Dora Akunyili, has been appointed as the new Chief Medical Officer of the Jersey City Medical Center in the United States.

The announcement was made in a statement released by the medical center on Wednesday, January 11, where it was disclosed that Dr Akunyili is its first Black Chief Medical Officer.

“RWJBarnabas Health is proud to add Dr. Akunyili to its executive clinical leadership team. Her experience managing multi-specialty physician groups in integrated health care systems will help support Jersey City Medical Center in providing comprehensive health care throughout the community,” said Andy Anderson, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical and Quality Officer for RWJBarnabas Health. She will be a tremendous asset to our team.”

“Dr. Akunyili has a wealth of experience and knowledge, and as our Chief Medical Officer, we look forward to creating a world-class experience for every patient at Jersey City Medical Center. I am confident that Hudson County will benefit in a great way from her leadership, and that her presence will have tremendous impact,” said Michael Prilutsky, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Center.

Speaking on the appointment, Akunyili appreciated the hospital for the opportunity, and said she is committed to ensuring quality service delivery.

She completed her emergency medicine residency at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

She further bagged an MPA in international development from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

She is married with two teenage children.

The Twitter user, @Accoid, a consultant and agency manager who shared the story online, said a female friend had reached out to her to help find her sister a job in her company, which she obliged.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has finally reacted to the leaked private video scandal involving actress Empress Njamah, one of its members.

Nollywood actress Anita Joseph has lampooned a troll after he mocked her over her “no make-up” appearance in a video shared on her page.

She took to her Instagram page to share a video of her husband, MC Fish giving her a haircut and it sparked reactions from netizens.

Anita Joseph lost her cool and put a troll in their place after they shamed her for sharing her video without her normal makeup look.

An IG user identified @arinzeebede left a horrible remark, he wrote:

“Woman beauty is makeup”

Anita fired back at the troll saying she was more good-looking than their entire generation.

A woman has reportedly tied the knot with a man with two wives despite divorcing her first husband for taking a second wife.

A Twitter user, identified as Kawu Garba, who relayed the story online, said the lady sold her belongings to sponsor her husband through law school.

However, after he graduated and got a good job, he decided to marry another wife but she refused to be in a polygamous marriage and divorced him.

She sadly left the marriage empty-handed because her husband was given full custody of their three children, and she remained single for four years.

After spending a long time as a divorcee, she eventually settled to be the third wife of a man who asked for her hand in marriage.

He wrote,

“This woman sold her furniture and paid for her husband to attend the school of law. After he finished and got the job of his dream, he decided to add another wife.

The wife insisted on a divorce, but he refused to let her go. After much pressure from the woman and her family, he later divorced and collected his 3 children.

The children are known with his new wife, in his house while the divorced woman is recently married as a 3rd wife after 4 years of being at home.

I feel staying with her old husband and allowing him to have married the second wife would have been a better option. Now her children would have to be raised by another woman.”

Nigerian on-air personality, Oluwapelumi Orungbe, popularly known as N6, has shared his observation about Pastor Jerry Eze, the convener of trending praying platform, NSPPD – New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration.

Taking to Twitter, N6 asserted that majority of the prayer points raised by the clergyman can be easily solved by a working Government.

He added that he finds it weird that the pastor pauses mid-prayers to ask his listeners to share the link on social media, but has never sensitized people about the forthcoming elections in February.

According to him, he wishes Pastor Jerry Eze can use his platform to encourage people to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC), and take the election seriously.

Popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has stirred mixed reactions on social media over a recent post he shared about popular clergyman, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

Recall that he released a song in October 2022 where he threw a shade at Apostle Johnson Suleman after the assassination attempt on his life, that left seven people dead.

In the freestyle song, the controversial singer spoke about how members of a certain church in Nigeria contributed to buying a bulletproof car for their pastor.

However, when the clergyman was attacked by unknown gunmen, he and his family were saved because of the bulletproof car, while his security details were exposed and killed.

Though he didn’t mention the clergyman’s name in the song, netizens knew for a fact that he was referring to Apostle Suleman.

In a new development, the ‘Azaman’ singer went a step further with the shade as he posted a still video of his photo and that of Apostle Suleman, with the song playing in the background.

The video was captioned,

Popular Instagram skit maker, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, otherwise known as Sabinus, has indirectly shaded musician Omah Lay for lamenting about the lack of support by his colleagues in the music industry.

Recall that The “Understand” crooner, had expressed his frustration in a series of posts on his official Twitter handle, about people who have refused to support him out of “fear.”

Sabinus took to his Twitter account to comment about people only getting the support that they gave out to others, indicating that Omah Lay had not helped any of his junior colleagues so it was impossible for him to get it back.

He wrote;

A while back, Sabinus splashed millions of naira on a palatial mansion.

Popular clergyman and movie producer, Mike Bamiloye, has advised young men to stop trying to deceive God with their giving habits.

The clergyman took to his Instagram page to inform men that paying tithes out of winnings they made from sports betting would not appease God because it was impossible to bribe him.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has described those criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari over area of economic development as ignorant.

Mohammad underlined that the administration has done well in the last eight years during his remarks on Thursday, January 12, at the ongoing 18th edition of the PMB scorecard series.

According to him, such statements are borne out of ignorance since infrastructure “is a key driver of economic development”.
