A Nigerian man has taken to social media to celebrate his mother, who is just graduating 20 years after she dropped out of school to send him to school.

The man, an engineer identified as Njikah, revealed his mother dropped out of school in 2002 so he could be educated and have a good life.

Having raised her son to be a successful young man, she also didn’t give up on her dreams and recently went back to school, which she has now graduated from.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the proud son shared photos of himself with his mother after she defended her final project and commended her determination.

He also thanked her for all of her sacrifices of love in making sure he has a good life.

A young lady identified as Fran has taken to social media to appreciate God for touching her father’s heart and allowing her to marry the man of her dreams.

According to her, her father refused to approve her choice of husband because he was not an Igbo man.

She explained that it took her a year to convince her father to agree to the ceremony and the entire event took five days, from proposal to court wedding.

She wrote;

Had a hard time getting my father’s approval for over a year, just because my man isn’t Igbo. All of this (proposal, introduction, court wedding) just happened within the last five days. All I can say is, Jesus answers prayers.

In other news, a Nigerian man has caused a stir after he took to social media to solicit funds for his upcoming wedding.

The man who’s set to tie the knot with his wife in March 2023 sent an email to a non-governmental organization, the Halal Foundation, asking for help from well-meaning Nigerians.

According to the groom-to-be, he lost his parents when he was still in secondary school, so he’s currently incapable of handling the cost of the wedding all by himself.

The man, from Katsina state, also listed in his letter all the items he’ll need for the wedding, with their prices in dollars.

The majority of the items on the list are clothes and accessories, which range from $50 to $100. He also included his house rent, which he stated is $250.

The letter read in part,

“Request for Marriage Funding Assistance
I, Hassan, am writing to beg financial support for my upcoming marriage. My parents died when I was in Senior Secondary two, and I am a native of Katsina State, Nigeria, where I had my elementary and secondary education (2). Later, I went to Polytechnic and earned a diploma in Computer Science.

I put my complete mind and confidence on your side, knowing that by God’s grace, you will help me opt out of the crucial circumstance I find myself in with whatever you intend to provide me as my marriage will be done on March 3rd, 2023 by next year by God’s grace.

I would be quite grateful if you could support and assist me in carrying out my marriage without the need for a loan from a bank or making me feel concerned.”

Halal shared the letter on its Twitter page and wrote, “A brother emailed us that he needs your help for his marriage, which is coming soon.”

In the trending video, the father of four was seen handing out 4 $100 dollars bill to the suya seller from the money he was holding.

The singer, whose love for suya is no longer a secret and once flew a suya seller from Nigeria to Ghana, tipped the vendor after buying suya worth less than $20.

A video of veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, teaching a white woman to speak Igbo has stirred warm reactions online.

The Nigerian-Russian content creator, Fari Ferrari, recently met with the veteran thespian, and she shared a video from the meeting on social media.

In the video, Fari asked Edochie to teach her some words in the Igbo language, and he agreed.

She asked him how to say “Daddy, I missed you” in Igbo, and he told her, “Otego kwa aka.”

After their brief language lesson, she made an effort to repeat the phrases after Edochie and thanked him for his time.

Popular Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye, better known as Rude Boy, has posted a loved-up video with his new lover, Ivy Ifeoma.

The entertainer, who secretly dated the model for one year and just recently made their relationship public, took to his Instastory to share a romantic video with her following a night out.

The couple attended a concert together on Wednesday night, December 21, along with the singer’s twin brother, Peter Okoye, and they both shared fun moments from the event on their respective social media pages.

In one of the posts, Paul Okoye, whose divorce from his ex-wife, Anita, was finalized barely a week ago, showed off the new love of his life and assured her of his love and commitment.

In other news, Paul Okoye has officially been granted a divorce from his ex-wife, Anita Okoye by an Abuja High Court sitting in Maitama.

Anita Okoye filed for divorce after 8 years of marriage in August 2021 and cited five major reasons for her decision to divorce Paul which included; cheating, being an absent parent, fraud, and difficult experiences.

Earlier on, in her divorce petition filed by her lawyer, Ojonimi Akpe and Okutepa J.S, Anita had claimed that she donated N10 million as an arrangement with Paul that she would be allocated space in the mall he had recently constructed in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

She did, however, accuse Paul Okoye of defrauding her of the agreement.

Anita, who attended court sessions via Zoom because she now resides in the United States, was unable to substantiate all of the grounds in her petition to the court. As a result, she decided to withdraw all her claims and opted to settle.

The court, in its judgment, only granted joint custody of the children to the parties in the ruling on the case on October 20, 2022.

The petitioner (Anita) was, however, not given any money in the form of alimony or settlement.

Popular Nigerian rapper, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known as Vector, has tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend in a low-key ceremony.

Vector and his girlfriend, Yinka Coker, a physiotherapist, got married on Wednesday, December 21.

Although the couple didn’t make news of their wedding public, friends have shared photos and videos from the private ceremony as they send their congratulations to the newlyweds. Vector’s wife, Yinka, also reposted the videos on her Instagram page.

Videos from the simple ceremony showed the rapper and his wife donning basic white outfits while being surrounded by family and friends who came to witness their union.

“2023 will be better” – Man says as he narrates how he lost his right eye and job after a robbery attack in 2022

A young Nigerian man has taken to social media to narrate how his life changed drastically after a robbery attack in 2022.

The man shared a video montage documenting the sad tale of his life, and disclosed that he lost his right eye and job after being attacked by armed robbers who raided his family house in March this year.

He said he spent all his savings trying to restore his eyesight, lost confidence in himself and started wearing a eye patch to cover his damaged eyes.

He, however, noted that he started rebuilding his confidence, started scouting for jobs and surrounded himself with his loved ones in order to uplift his spirit.

Speaking further, the young man said he has high hopes for 2023, and believes life will be better for him.

His words,

“The year started off really well. Not until 3rd of March. Armed robbers raided my family home. Leaving me with a damaged right eye and multiple injuries. That wasn’t all I lost that day. I lost my job, design gig, my little business, all my savings and confidence in myself.

“Visited so many hospitals in hopes to save my right eye. So I made the eye patch and that helped restore a bit of confidence cause everyone thought it was just fashion.

“Over time I didn’t feel like putting it on as I wanted to get used to not hiding behind the patch. Started building my confidence and reaching out to people in need of skill set so I could make money as getting a job was quite difficult. Surrounded myself with close friends and family. 2023 will be better.”

Popular Ibadan-based comedian, Peteru Comedy dies of colon cancer

Ibadan-based comedian and event compere, Owomoyela Nifemi, popularly known by his stage name, Peteru Comedy, has passed away.

The skit maker, who is well-known for his comic take on Big Brother Naija in Yoruba, reportedly died of colon cancer on Wednesday, December 21.

It was learnt that Peteru, said to be the only son in a family of seven, just buried his father in the month of November this year.

Following the sad report, his colleagues in the entertainment industry, fans and followers, have taken to social media to mourn his sudden demise.

May his soul rest in peace, Amen!

A while back, Big Brother star, Rico Swavey also passed away.

This comes after it was revealed that the reality TV star was placed on life support after he was involved in a ghastly motor accident.

Rico Swavey’s management had earlier taken to Twitter to give an update on Rico’s health.

“Hello everyone, Rico Swavey is not disposed to handle his socials right now as he was involved in a ghastly accident and is currently on life support. While his situation is critical and doctors are on him, We implore your support and prayers.” they tweeted.

Nollywood actress, Doris Ogala, has slammed her colleague, Yul Edochie, over his public apology to his first wife, May.

Yul stirred reactions on Wednesday, December 21, after he tendered a public apology to his first wife, May, for taking a second wife.

In a lengthy Instagram post, the father of five admitted that he had deeply hurt May and accepted responsibility for his actions.

He said he has been a good husband to her and an exceptional father to their children, so May hating him for only one thing he’s done wrong isn’t the best.

“I’ve been a good husband and a wonderful father. I’ve supported all your hustle from day one, I have been an exceptional father to our children till date making sure they lack nothing and always there for everyone. Out of 100 I have done 99 things right, hating me because of one thing isn’t the best. Nobody is perfect. I’m not. You’re not. Nobody is, except God.” He wrote in part.

Reacting to the post, Doris lambasted Yul and accused him of trying to chase clout with the situation.

Doris says she is in a similar situation with Yul’s wife, May, and completely understands what she’s going through.

A Twitter user with handle @e4maa15 has opined that popular singer, Davido and his wife, Chioma, should have issued an official statement about the death of their son, Ifeanyi.

@e4maa15 took to Twitter to share her opinion few days after the award-winning singer officially returned to social media after taking a break to mourn his son.

Recall that Ifeanyi passed away in a drowning incident that occurred in the singer’s home in Banana Island, Lagos, on Monday, October 31.

Speaking on Davido’s comeback to the social world and subsequent performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup , the tweep asserted that the celebrity couple should have issued an official statement instead of moving on like nothing happened.

“I feel like Davido and Chioma should have issued an official statement about their son’s death instead of carrying on with their lives like nothing happened,” she wrote in a now-deleted tweet.

However, her tweet was trailed with severe backlash as she was accused of being insensitive to the couple’s pain.

Reacting to the criticisms, the lady, in a follow-up tweet, wrote,

“That wasn’t what I was going for. There has been a lot of whispers and conspiracy theories surrounding little Ifeanyi’s death and I feel like making an official statement or something will help dispel most of it.
Maybe I worded my tweet wrongly and for that, I’m sorry 🙏”

A video making the rounds online has captured the moment Nigerian singer, Bella Shmurda, was pushed off the stage by an overzealous fan at a recent concert.

The “Vision 2020” star was one of the superstar singers that performed at Seyi Vibez concert that was held in Lagos on Wednesday night, December 21.

Bella was on stage performing when a male fan hopped on the stage and attempted to make a video with him, but Bella tried pushing him away because he was interfering with his performance.

The young man, who seemed to be intoxicated, rushed back to hold the singer when he slipped, and in the process, he dragged Bella off the stage.
