#EndSARS memorial: Protesters scamper for safety as police fire tear gas at the Lekki Tollgate (video)
Police officers stationed at the Lekki tollgate on Thursday, October 20 fired teargas and water cannon to disperse participants of the second #EndSARS memorial.
It was earlier reported that Nigerian youths converged in their numbers at the Lekki Tollgate this morning to mark the second anniversary of the shootings of peaceful #Endsars protesters on October 20, 2020.
Nigerians who joined the procession were seen carrying dummy coffins to honour the memory of those who lost their lives to the EndSARS protest in 2020.
However, Nigerian rapper and activist, Falz who also joined the memorial procession this morning revealed that security personnel fired teargas to disperse the crowd.
He shared a video of people scampering for safety and wrote, “Their usual show of madness, they tear-gassed, but we are safe, thanks to everyone checking in.”

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, in an interview with Channels Television, said some of the participants were “unruly” and climbed the top of the toll gate.
“That was not needed. You are doing a procession, just walk past. But these people now stopped there and climbed on the toll gate, becoming a nuisance, threatening to break down the existing law and order. We can’t stand there and watch them misbehave. The least we could do was to use teargas, any other thing apart from teargas will be more harmful. There is no record of injury. We only did our job and faced those who were unruly.” He said.

As Nigerians around the world mark the second anniversary of the EndSARS Lekki Tollgate shooting of October 20, 2020, popular Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo has called on the government to rename the toll gate as “Lekki Memorial Way” in memory of those who lost their lives.
Alex took to his Instagram page to make this call and demanded that the Lekki Tollgate should be toll free, because Nigerians already paid the price in full with their blood during the tragic incident.

Ondo politician recounts how snakes stopped visiting his house after he lost the House of Reps primaries
A Nigerian politician, Olumbe Akinkugbe, has recounted how snakes stopped visiting his house after he lost the House of Representatives primary election.
Olumbe, who contested in the recently concluded House of Reps primary election for Ondo East and West federal constituency under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC), took to Twitter to recall his experience.
According to him, though he is not a superstitious person who would attribute such occurrence to spiritual forces, he found it strange that the weekly snake visits suddenly stopped after he lost the election.
He tweeted;
“Not a superstitious person but somehow strange that the weekly snake visit’s to my house since I lost the HOR primaries have stopped

Popular Nigerian singer, Falz and ace comedian, Mr Macaroni, on Thursday morning, October 20, joined the #EndSARSmemorial procession at the Lekki Tollgate.
Nigerian youths converged in their numbers at the Lekki Tollgate this morning to mark the second anniversary of the shootings of peaceful #Endsars protesters on October 20, 2020.
At the procession on Thursday, coffins were carried to honour the memory of protesters who were shot and killed by security personnel at the Lekki Tollgate two years ago.

The reality TV stars who have been at loggerhead since 2019 over a leaked chat reconciled at their late colleague, Rico Swavey’s candlelight procession on Wednesday evening, October 19.
You would recall that in 2019, the ladies made headlines after a chat between them was leaked and showed Alex insulting Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson.
At the time, it was said that Ifu released the conversation in an effort to bring her colleague, Alex, down, which strained their relationship. Ifu later tendered a public apology to Alex, but it appears their friendship didn’t go back to the way it was. ICYMI.
Two years and ten months later, Ifu and Alex, who were present at their late colleague Rico Swavey’s service of song and candlelight procession, last night reconciled at the event.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Alex shared photos and a video showing the moment she and Ifu hugged it out.

A young Nigerian man has called out an Instagram slay queen for allegedly redirecting a flight he paid for to go and visit another man.
The man with TikTok handle @asonta_b_asonta took to the video-sharing platform to accuse the lady, identified simply as Margaret, of allegedly duping him of his hard-earned money.
According to Asonta, he invited the lady over to his home and booked a flight for her to travel down to his location.
However, on the day she was supposed to show up, she did not catch the flight and reportedly redirected it to another place.
Asonta claimed Margaret posted photos and videos with another man on her social media page during the period she was supposed to visit him, so he automatically assumed that she redirected the flight to go and visit the said man.
After being disappointed, an angry Asonta went online to disgrace the lady and demand that she returns his money within 24 hours because the flight ticket was very expensive.
According to him, if she fails to comply with the 24-hour ultimatum, he will get the police to arrest her.

A Colombian top-division footballer took fans by surprise during a league match by pulling out his penis in an attempt to distract an opponent before a dangerous free-kick.
During the weekend game, Independiente Santa Fe defender, Geisson Perea flashed his penis while standing in the wall as a player from Jaguares de Cordoba lined up a free kick.
It’s reported that Perea was using the bizarre tactic as a means to distract the player and it appeared to work as the Jaguares man wasted the effort.
Perea has spoken out following the incident, claiming he didn’t intend to expose himself to the world.
‘I was fixing my Lycra, I had that space,’ he told Colombia’s Win Sports TV. ‘When I enter [the pitch], I enter it to play and not to be aware that a camera can see me. They are synonymous with emotions that move.

According to TMZ Sports, various supporters were enraged by Perea’s brazen display as his private part were shown on the TV broadcast, with many calling for him to be punished, while others urged the club to swiftly remove him from the squad.

Woman shares shocking response she received from her ‘boyfriend’ after she saw him with another woman
A woman has shared the shocking response she received from a man she thought was her boyfriend after she bumped into him with another woman.
Taking to Twitter, the heartbroken lady with handle @chuluzz, shared a screenshot of the conversation she had with the said boyfriend after she confronted him, and she was taken aback by his response.
Apparently, she saw him in town with another woman but he acted like he didn’t know her. Instead of confronting him on the spot, she sent him a message on Whatsapp, asking why he acted the way he did towards her.
Responding, the young man admitted that the woman she saw him with is his main girlfriend, and appreciated her for not overreacting when she saw him.
Despite being outed as a cheat, the man still asked @chuluzz to come and visit him during the weekend because his main girlfriend will not be around.
Infuriated by his audacity and realization that she was just a ‘sidechic’, she blocked him on WhatsApp so he would not have access to her anymore.
The lady, who was visibly heartbroken by the incident, shared the chat and wrote,
“i can’t believe what happened to me today 😭😭😭😭😭✋🏽”

The lady with Twitter handle @justjasminekay, who is very vocal about her sexuality on social media, disclosed that she had sex with the lady who is her colleague at work, unknown to her that the said lady was also sleeping with another co-worker.
To make matters worse, the lady recently informed her that she was getting married to someone else, and even told her to purchase her wedding aso-ebi.

22-year-old teacher brutalizes 2-year-old daughter, burns her butt with electric cooker (Video)
A 22-year-old primary school teacher, Margret Obano, has been accused of brutalizing her two-year-old daughter and burning her butt with an electric cooker in Lagos.
According to reports, the incident occurred at her residence in the Bariga area of Lagos on Friday, October 14, 2022.
It’s reported that the mother of one, who resides in the Bariga house with her boyfriend and his mother, is in the habit of torturing her 2-year-old daughter.
Most recently, on Friday, she’s said to have mercilessly beat the little girl and made her sit on an electric cooker, which left her with severe burns on her butt.
“She is fond of maltreating and abusing the child for no reason. On Friday, she beat up the little child and put her bumbum on the electric cooking hot plate. This happened at her boyfriend’s house where she stays. She teaches in a local school at Bariga and the school is owned by her boyfriend’s mum, so she lives with both the boyfriend and his mom.
“The father of the child is no where to be found. He denied the child when she gave birth. The child suffered severe burn and is currently in so much pain.” A source said.

A Nigerian woman has in a video making rounds on social media said it is better for a woman to marry a cheating husband.
Speaking in the video, the woman said marriage is not a walk in the park and every woman would definitely face challenges because of the kind of men available.
According to her, every man falls into these three categories – a cheating husband, a greedy husband and an abusive husband. She said it is better for a woman to marry an unfaithful man, than a greedy or abusive man.

Popular Nigerian singer, Davido’s logistics manager, Isreal DMW, has stirred reactions after he was captured showing utmost respect to his boss in his absence.
In a viral video, Isreal, who has constantly shown his allegiance to his boss, fell to the ground as soon as he saw Davido on TV.
A music video Davido featured in was playing on a home TV, and as Isreal spotted him, he quickly laid flat on the floor in reverence to the superstar singer.
He then got up, saluted the DMW boss with his hands up, and started dancing.
A member of the crew who saw what Isreal was doing decided to make a video and post it online.
The video has, however, gone viral and elicited sweet reactions from fans who expressed admiration for Israel’s respect and love for Davido.

Viral video of flood victims in Bayelsa state receiving a cup of rice as palliative.
A video showing the distribution of a cup of rice to each flood victim in a community in the Bayelsa state has gone viral online.
In the video, the flood victims are seen accepting the polythene bag with the cup of rice from the young man in charge of dispensing it.

Apprentice reportedly forced to share half of the 16 Million Naira he won from sports betting with his Master.
A Nigerian man has taken to his social media page to share the fascinating story of how a young man won 16 million from gambling but had to share his win with his boss due to some apprentice law.
According to word on the street, the local apprentice law states that any money made under his master is for his master and this has caused split opinions on Twitter NG.

Nigerian student killed by propeller of private plane he rented for dinner date in America
Sani Aliyu, a 21-year-old Nigerian student based in the United States, has died after being hit by the propeller of a private plane he had rented for a dinner date.
The Georgia Southern University student died on Sunday night, October 16, in front of his date after walking into the spinning propeller of a small plane on the way back from a date.
Aliyu had hired a plane to take him and his date to Savannah for dinner, which is around 55 miles from Statesboro, the main campus of the university, where he was studying.
After the date night, the plane landed back safely at the Statesboro-Bulloch County airport. However, while exiting the plane, Aliyu headed to the front, where he was struck twice by the plane’s propeller on the back of his head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at Statesboro-Bulloch County Airport.
“They flew to Savannah to go on a date, flew back, landed at the Statesboro Airport, and the young lady got off the plane, and he got off the airplane and walked toward the front of the plane. And when he did, the propeller hit him.” Bulloch County Coroner Jake Futch told Statesboro Herald.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson said the accident happened when the aircraft had “taxied onto the ramp area” and was left stood still around 10.35pm on Sunday.
The single-engine Cessna was carrying four passengers on the plane, the pilot, the co-pilot along with Aliyu and his date.
A spokesperson for the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, Todd Hutchens, said the incident was an accident and no one was at fault, “Nobody is really at fault of anything. It was an accident.” He said.
