Mixed reactions as bride-to-be asks over 100 of her friends to contribute N5k each towards her wedding
A Nigerian bride-to-be has reportedly tasked her friends to donate N5000 each towards her upcoming wedding.
The lady, who’s set to walk down the aisle in a month is said to have added her friends, over a hundred, to a WhatsApp group chat and asked that each of them donate a minimum of N5,000 to the success of the wedding.
A friend of the bride-to-be shared screenshots of the message all the friends received from the lady asking for the money on Twitter.
Sharing a snapshot of the message, the friend identified as Yusuf Bolaji on Twitter wrote,
“A friend of mine during NYSC is getting married next moth and she added about 100 of us to a group and we are asked to contribute N5k each towards the success of the wedding. 5k not even for cloth.”

Bolaji’s tweet elicited varying reactions from social media users, as they share their opinion on the bride’s request.
Reacting, a Twitter user @_B_energy wrote, “It’s a good one but she shouldn’t be the one to dictate what and how much should be contributed, neither should it be enforced.”

23-year-old model warns against substance abuse as she loses her once glorified ‘behind’ (Photos)
A young lady has taken to social media to warn against substance abuse as she reveals the adverse effects on her body.
The lady, a 23-year-old model identified as Sharlyn Kamara, who once weighed 64kg with a curvaceous body, revealed how she lost her weight and her backside, which was the envy of many, following an addiction to crystal meth.
Kamara claimed that the addiction caused her to lose her job, her relationship, and her weight, which went from 64 to 45 kg.
In a lengthy Twitter post warning against drug abuse, Kamara said she has quit and is gradually getting her body back.
In her words,
“My name is Sharlyn Kamara, I’m a 23 year old model and I’m telling my story to the world. Crystal meth addiction is the worst thing I’ve ever battled throughout my young life, I don’t want to keep this, despite the fact that my family might find it, it’s not easy even now I’m still struggling despite the fact that I decided to quit last year.
I was weighing 64 kgs, then started weighing 45 kgz in no time, my skin got ruined and my mind was bothered, still got horrible eating habits, lost a good business deal and fumbled a healthy relationship today.
I’m trying to pick myself up, after a lot of effort I now weigh 53 kgz, Crystal meth assuredly brings 99.9% harm to your life, causes heart issues or escalates them and can lead to death easily.
If you’re using it I know it’s hard, despite the fact that we always know the effects we just don’t want to quit, but it’s now or never, you need yourself more now than ever, put that foil, lighter and bong down , try to feed healthy, stay away from all the environments and friends that are still using , you can do this…”
Young widow laments as her husband’s family throw her out, seize his properties after his death (video)
A young widow has taken to TikTok to share her agonizing experience with her late husband’s family after his sudden death.
The mother of two, identified as @kleivmaris.1, shared a video showing herself, her late husband and their two children and narrated what she went through in the hands of her in-laws.
She said she was accused of killing her husband barely a day after his death, and was called a ‘thief’ because she said her husband is not as rich as they thought.
She said a month after his passing, she was chased out of their matrimonial home with her kids for refusing to engage in a ‘diabolic plan’.
Speaking further, the grieving widow said they seized her husband’s properties and claimed he was indebted to his siblings so they will hold on to his properties till her children are old enough to come for them.
To make things worse, she said she and her children were not allowed to visit his grave because her in-laws claimed they are “disturbing her late husband’s spirit”.
Following the dehumanizing treatment, she said she wanted to return her bride price but her father-in-law told her to give the money to her late husband’s spirit.
She said she then decided to relocate with her two children to have a fresh start, and now they are thriving and doing fine.

Moment residents attempted to rescue man swept away by flood in Abule-Egba, Lagos (Video)
A yet-to-be-identified man has been reportedly swept away by flood in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Monday morning, September 19, 2022, after the downpour.
Witnesses said the man got trapped in a hole covered with water and all efforts to pull him out proved abortive.
A video of locals trying to pull him out of the water while dragging his hand in an attempt to save him has been shared online.
“This happened at Abule Egba junction at exactly 9:30 this morning. The flood must have been sweeping him from a different location because it was just his hand that we saw inside gutter.
He was waving for help and we tried to pull him out but we couldn’t I think debris hacked him down and it was slippery and the force of the water was just too much.” A witness said.

“The said Mr James has being dashing the minor money without telling her his reason until recently he started demanding sex from the teenage girl who turned down his request.
“Mr James demanded that she refund him 17,500 naira the total money he has dashed her but the teenager said it was dash and non refundable which prompted Mr James to effect her arrest.
“After listening to both parties,the DPO of the station asked the 17 year old girl to go with her parents and warned Mr James seriously to stop harassing the girl based on her age.
“Evidence Agwor Esq and Prince Wiro Rivers State Legal Adviser and National Coordinator respectively of Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign were in the station for the matter.
“The Centre was demanding the detention and subsequent arraignment of the man for enticing and luring a minor but her family was of different view.
“The law is clear,an underage boy or girl( below 18 years) does not have right of giving consent in a sexual relationship.”

A video from the scene of the fatal car accident that killed a woman while allegedly chasing her husband after she spotted him with another woman has been shared online.
It was earlier reported that an unidentified woman reportedly lost her life in a car crash in Calabar, Cross River State while allegedly chasing her husband, whom she saw with another lady at a shopping mall.
It was said that the deceased, a mother of three, sighted her husband leaving a shopping mall in the company of a lady and she tried to block his car with the Toyota Highlander she was driving in.
Her husband reportedly managed to get his vehicle out of the attempted blockade and took the Murtala Muhammed highway, with his wife in hot pursuit.
In a bid to outrun her husband, she lost control of the speeding vehicle, veered off the road and slammed the car on a tree, killing herself.

According to Linda, her sister and Pere both had issues that could have been settled, but Pere chose to cut ties with her.
She begged Pere to make contact with the said sister so she could have closure on what had happened between them.
“Pere U broke my sis heart 6 years ago. Y’all had issues you would’ve sorted out but U chose to leave just like that. From then till now, she has not been able to get over U. You should call her and give her closure. You Can’t break a girl’s heart, dickmatize her and leave!” She tweeted.
Well, in what seemed to be a reaction to the allegation, Pere simply prayed for the broken hearted.
“May God heal the broken hearted. Amen.” He tweeted.

Man arrested for stealing N620K from church offering box (Video)
A young man identified as Opeyemi Olufemi was apprehended by the police for stealing from the offering box of a church to the tune of N620K.
A video that was shared on social media shows the moment the young man was subdued after robbing a church of its offerings.
The young man is reported to have had accessed and robbed a church whose name and location remain unknown at the time of this publication.
Opeyemi was nabbed with a bag where he’d stashed money of all dominations amounting to a total of N620,115.

In other news, a church located in Shikal village of Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State was reportedly invaded by masquerades on Sunday, September 18th, 2022.
According to the report, the Pastor of the church and worshippers were flogged by the masquerades who disrupted the Sunday service.
It’s reported that the church members did not confront the masquerades but later gathered to salvage what was left of their properties which were also destroyed during the attack.
Daily Trust reported that the elders of the village are making efforts to get to the root of the matter in order to restore normalcy.

According to Adaeze, she got married in 2011 and they tried to get a baby for over 4 years and in 2015, she seemingly hit her lowest point after she suffered a miscarriage.
She had to quit her job in that same year and she had no plan on what to do to improve her finances. She however was confirmed pregnant in the same month she quit her job and she had her first child in 2016. Fast-forward to 2022, she is now a proud mother of three with a better source of income and she couldn’t be more grateful.

A Kano-based Chinese man, Geng Quangrong, has confessed to stabbing his Nigerian girlfriend to death in the state.
The suspect, who was arrested after he attacked and killed his 23-year-old lover, Ummakulsum Sani Buhari, in her parents’ house at Janbulo quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, on Friday night, September 16, said he did it because she betrayed him.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspect, aged 47, committed the crime after scaling the fence of the deceased residence to gain access, where he stabbed her multiple times until she gave up the ghost.
The Chinese man alleged that the deceased, Ummu had promised to marry him, but later reneged on that promise after he had spent so much on her.
The suspect further stated that he was enraged by her betrayal and decided to attack and kill the deceased at her residence.
Deng has since been transferred to the state headquarters at Bompai for further investigation and prosecution.
Meanwhile, late Ummu has been laid to rest on Saturday morning in Kano according to Islamic rite.
