A South African lady has taken to Twitter to celebrate her 3-year-old nephew, who lost his mother shortly after he was born.
The lady, identified as @nia_mhayise on the micro-blogging platform, said the boy’s mother died during childbirth and she took full responsibility for the baby since then.
She shared photos of him as a baby and another showing how much he has grown and captioned them.

The scary incident took place on Friday, August 26, when the pupils of Carter Elementary School in Louisville, KY, were being driven to their respective homes after school.
In the trending clip, the man is seen speaking aggressively to the students and threatening to ‘flip the whole bus’ if any of them touches his daughter again.
Another man, who appeared to be the bus driver, tried to hold the angry father back but he kept yelling and scaring the little children.
Some of the pupils began crying out of fear, while another student is heard telling the man that his daughter hit her assailant first.
A 19-year-old Indian girl, Ankita Kumari, has died after she was doused in fuel and set ablaze by a man whose marriage proposal she rejected.
Ankita was a Hindu and Class 12 student residing in the Dumka district of the eastern state of Jharkhand before her unfortunate demise.
The suspect, said to be a Muslim man living in her community, asked for her hand in marriage but she turned him down, and he in turn, vowed to make her life a living hell.
Acting on his words on Tuesday, August 23, the accused poured petrol on Ankita through her room window while she was sleeping at night and set her on fire.
She was rushed to a hospital for treatment but sadly, she gave up the ghost on Sunday, August 28, after five days of fighting for her life.
In a statement documenting Ankita’s testimony before she died, she said,
“He called me again around 8pm on Monday and told me that he would kill me if I did not talk to him.
“I informed my father about the threat after which he assured me that he would talk to the man’s family on Tuesday. After having our dinner, we went to sleep. I was sleeping in another room.
“On Tuesday morning, I experienced a sensation of pain on my back and could smell something burning. I found him running away when I opened my eyes.
“I started screaming in pain and went to my father’s room. My parents doused the fire and took me to the hospital.”
Ankita was also filmed saying from her hospital bed: “He should die the way I am dying today.”
Meanwhile, her death has stirred an uproar in India as the Hindu community threaten to stage a protest if action is not taken against the suspect.

Following the incident, the school’s principal, Jamie Wyman, sent an email to the parents of the students on the bus, informing them of the incident.
He also disclosed that the bus driver was directed to bring the students back to the school, where they contacted the police and JCPS (Jefferson County Public School) Security.
Parents were also encouraged to talk to their children about the incident, and encourage them to reach out to the school’s counsellor if needed.

A Nigerian lady has strongly advised people against sharing their hotspot with strangers after she almost landed in trouble for sharing hers with a stranger.
The lady, identified simply as Rita, said she was at an event when a lady asked if anyone could share their hotspot with her, and out of benevolence, she offered to share hers.
She said one of her friends tried to dissuade her because it was weird for a complete stranger to ask for hotspot from people she doesn’t know, but she still went ahead to help the lady.
She said the next day, she received a notification that the 20gb data she subscribed to, which usually lasts for a month, had almost finished.
Three days later, she received a call from the authorities that she got engaged in fraudulent activities and downloaded some files that were fraudulent.
According to her, she told the authorities that it’s not possible because she didn’t do anything of that nature, but they told her the date and time she made the download. And it turned out to be around the time she turned on her hotspot for the stranger at the event.
In conclusion, Rita said, “From my experience, never share your hotspot with a stranger. Make sure you share it with someone you know”.
A lady who asked her tailor to sew a black off-shoulder dress was left utterly disappointed after taking delivery of the dress her tailor made.
The woman placed an order for a black off-the-shoulder mermaid gown. Unfortunately, the tailor made an outfit that was quite unrelated to what she had requested.

A young man identified as Samuel Owolabi has landed himself in Police Net after he sold his mother’s car without her knowledge in Lagos.
According to the Police spokesperson, Ben Hundeyin, a son or daughter cannot sell their parent’s property without consent and thus, Samuel committed a crime.
He added that the mother was not aware of her son’s actions and she was shocked when she was called to come pick the car.

The way 16-year-old tennis star Sara Bejlek’s father celebrated her significant US Open qualifying victory has drawn criticism from netizens and sports fans.
Netizens expressed disapproval of the manner in which the father of the tennis prodigy celebrated her win.
In the video that has stirred reactions from social media users, especially tennis lovers, Bejlek shakes hands with her opponent and the chair umpire before walking over to a man standing courtside, who has been identified as her father.
Elated, the proud father gives his daughter a warm hug and several pats on her backside.
She then walks over and hugs another man, identified as her coach, who also pats her on the butt.
The video, which has now gone viral, caused an uproar among sports fans and social media users, who maintained that the way the men celebrated the 16-year old after her victory was inappropriate.
Reacting, a tweep wrote,
“There’s absolutely no reason to touch a 16yo girl on her butt like that. It’s beyond inappropriate. As the video progressed it got worse and worse”.
“Creepy coaches. What the hell?? I need more people to see this and talk about his because they literally caught them in 4K how is this not being talked about???”
Some social media users, however, noted that it is a common practice in the Czech Republic.
“It is pretty common in Czechia. Not something I would do, but many men just don’t think about it in a sexual way. Google our Easter traditions, you might be shocked”, a Twitter user wrote.
A Nigerian woman has reportedly been arrested by the police after she failed to provide proof that the baby she was carrying is hers.
In a video making the rounds online, the woman who insists she’s the mother of the child said she boarded a bus from Enugu to Port Harcourt and was detained by the police after failing to prove her identity as the child’s mother at a checkpoint.
She said she is currently at the Imo state CID.
However, as at the time of filing this report, the state police command has yet to react to the incident.

In other news, a young Nigerian lady is lucky to be alive after she was allegedly bathed with acid by her best friend over a man.
The victim, who shared a video of her partly burnt face, alleged that her best friend attacked and scalded her face with acid because her boyfriend was asking her out.
According to her, when her mother confronted the jealous friend to find out what substance she drenched her daughter with, she revealed that it was a mixture of bleach, bleaching oil, and petrol.
“My mum went to her place to as what she poured on my face, she said it is hypo, caro white oil with fuel mixed together,” she said.
Sharing the video, she captioned it, “My friend poured me an acid because her boyfriend was toasting me”.
A young Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to recount the hilarious way she met a man at a traffic light while driving and gave him her phone number.
The lady, identified as @msfizzy on Twitter, said she was jamming to a song by singers, Davido and Pheelz, titled “Electricity” at a traffic light when the man started singing along from his car.
She said they had a funny conversation afterwards and she ended up shouting her phone number to him at the traffic light before they parted ways.
The young lady who was thrilled by the experience wrote,
“I gave someone my number at the traffic light. I was playing Electricity and he could hear it from his car, so he started singing too. We had the funniest conversation ever after. It ended with me shouting my number from my car🤣 🤣”

Nigerian activist, Deji Adeyanju has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disqualify candidates who visit churches or mosques to seek public support and vote ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Taking to his Twitter page on Tuesday, August 30, Adeyanju said Nigerian law is against the use of religion or tribe to campaign, and INEC should take action against candidates violating the law.

“2023: INEC should disqualify candidates that go to churches or mosques to campaign or solicit for support/votes. Our laws forbid the use of religion or tribe to campaign.”

Two students of the Kwara State University (KWASU), identified as Tobiloba Daniel and Arewa Abayomi, have been found dead and naked in a hostel room.
The 200-level students were reportedly found dead in Daniel’s hostel room located off campus, and they were both stark naked.
A student of the institution who spoke in confidence to Daily Trust said they grew concerned when the deceased students missed an examination.
The student said,
“We suspect they were lovers and became concerned when they were not seen during an examination and for three days.
“It was when some of their friends got to their hostel room outside the school that they found them dead and naked. We suspect it’s a case of poisoning.”
The Kwara State Police Spokesperson, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the incident, said.
“The information is that the two of them were found dead inside their room and the police were alerted.
“Our officers pulled down the door and they were taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) for autopsy. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.”
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Institution, Hajia Saeedat Aliyu, when contacted, said there was no official communication on the matter.
