Groom dies on his wedding in Zamfara
Family and friends of a young Nigerian man who died on the morning of his wedding in Zamfara have taken to social media to mourn him.
The deceased, identified as Mudassir Lawal Galadima, died on Friday morning, September 9, 2022, a few hours before his wedding.
Mudassir, who until his death was a staff member of UBEB, had, on Tuesday, September 6, shared his wedding invite on Facebook, asking for prayers. Sadly, he died before the ceremony.
“Kindly accept this as a formal invitation to my wedding. We would be very much delighted to see you at the ceremony and hear your sincere prayers for our union. Allah ya bada ikon zuwa,” his Facebook post read.
The wedding fatiha of Mudassir and his bride, Fatima Bello Maccido Maradun, was slated to be held at 1:PM in Maradun Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the tragic incident in a Facebook post, a close friend of the deceased wrote,
“To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. So Sad 😢 😭. I have received the news of the death of my brother Mudassir Lawal Galadima Mafara, which is today his wedding day and may Allah accept his life. Only God knows the reason for this.
I am very sad to hear this story, may God have mercy on him, may God enlighten his grave, may God grant us paradise. Oh God, when our time comes, may we die with faith.
Brilliant 2-year-old boy correctly identifies alphabets before his first day of school (Video)
A 2-year-old boy has melted the hearts of social media users after an adorable video of him displaying exceptional brilliance before his first day of school was shared online.
In the video that has now gone viral, the toddler, who was just resuming school, correctly identified several of the English alphabets during a home activity.
The young child, who was dressed in his school uniform and was overjoyed to be starting school, was presented with several alphabets by his mother to recognize, which he did without difficulty.
One by one, his mother handed him each of the plastic letters she had taken from his backpack. He successfully said the names of each letter while holding it.
His proud mother shared the video on social media and captioned, “My 2-year-old this morning before his first day ever in school.”

A transgender couple who have both switched gender, Jake and Hannah Graf, have welcomed their second child via surrogacy.
44-year-old Jake was born a biological female before transitioning into a man, while his 35-year-old wife, Hannah, a former Army captain, was born a biological male before she transitioned.
The pair, who got married in 2018 and have two children together – 2-year-old Millie and their newborn Teddie, welcomed their kids using eggs Jake harvested during a pause in his hormone therapy.
Jake in an interview with Dailymail said the eggs were harvested two years before he met Hannah and were fertilized by a sperm donor.
The excited father said, “A father of two! It’s more than I ever imagined. Just saying the words seems beyond my reality.”
“It’s hard to imagine I once doubted this life was possible. There are so many trans people who would love to have a relationship and family like ours. We’re really very lucky,” Hannah added.
Speaking on the struggles of being trans-parents, the couple said they have received death threats from people condemning them for bringing children into the world.
“We’re just normal — not the freaks and weirdos we’re made out to be. People make ill-informed judgments based on prejudices without even talking to us,” Jake said.
The couple said they feel the need to protect their daughters from the hate on the trans community, and said they would not choose for them to be transgenders because it has many downsides.
Jake said:
“We know we have to respect our children’s individuality. But, honestly, we would never choose for them to be trans. It’s a very hard life. You face more hatred and prejudice and it’s vastly more complicated to have a family.
“I think people expect us to have rainbow flags draped all over the house and to be bringing up the kids gender-neutral, which has never occurred to us. I love Millie in pink. She wears it all the time.
“She’s just a child and she loves jumping, playing in the sandpit, picking flowers and painting. We haven’t pushed her in any direction. We’ll just support her in whatever she wants to do.”

Skeletal remains of landlord found inside his bedroom in Oyo community 4 years after he was last seen (photos)
The skeletal remains of a landlord, identified as John Aderemi Abiola, has been discovered in his bedroom after almost four years since he was last seen.
Residents of Adeosun/Idi Orogbo Community in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State were shocked by the discovery on Sunday, September 4, after the community leaders decided to clear the overgrown bushes in his compound due to the invasion of snakes.
It was learnt that the man was last seen in December 2018, one year after he moved into the community, and barely related with people in his neighborhood.
He told two people that he was travelling to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and would be back for the Ileya festivities in 2018. However, when they did not see him, they thought he chose to stay back in Rivers State.
As the years went by, the weeds in his compound grew beyond his fence into the next compound, where the owner of the property had already moved in, leading to the invasion of snakes and other reptiles.
Following a complaint to the community landlords, they decided to find a way to gain access into the compound to clear the bush and got permission from the Apete Police station.
Last Sunday, the community hired labourers to clear the thick bush as the house was built at the back of the land while the front side was free space.
As they were clearing the land, they first noticed Mr Abiola’s volkswagen Golf car with registration number AKD 769 DC which was was covered by bushes.
They then saw the building and noticed that the window of his room was opened. Out of curiosity, they looked into the room and saw the man’s skeletal remains sprawled on the bed, prompting them to raise alarm.
Police officers, operatives of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Ministry of Environment went to the scene to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile, efforts to contact his family has been futile because his lines has been disabled.

Jeff Bezos slams Nigerian professor for wishing the Queen ‘excruciating’ death; she responds with insults
Former richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos has slammed a Nigerian professor, Uju Anya, for wishing Queen Elizabeth II an “excruciating” death.
Following news that the Queen was under medical supervision because her health had deteriorated on Thursday afternoon, Uju took to Twitter to lambaste the monarch and wished her a painful death.
She tweeted, “I heard the chief monarch of a thieving raping genocidal empire is finally dying. May her pain be excruciating.”
The tweet stirred an uproar on Twitter and netizens, especially Britons, chided her for the unguarded statement.
However, she maintained her stance and responded,
“I’m not wishing her dead. She’s dying already. I’m wishing her an agonizingly painful death like the one she caused for millions of people.”
Uju added: “If anyone expects me to express anything but disdain for the monarch who supervised a government that sponsored the genocide that massacred and displaced half my family and the consequences of which those alive today are still trying to overcome, you can keep wishing upon a star.”
The now-deleted tweet caught the attention of Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, and he berated her for speaking ill of the Queen.
He wrote: “This is someone supposedly working to make the world better? I don’t think so. Wow.”
Responding, Uju hit back at Bezos and cursed him in Igbo language.

Naira Marley, who was based in the UK before moving to Nigeria, shared a video of the tattoo on Instagram on Thursday, hours after the Queen was announced dead.

Big Brother Naija star and Actor, Uti Nwachukwu recently took to his social media page to call out the Lagos state government after emergency numbers failed to help in his attempt to rescue a Hit-and-run victim.
The reality star spotted a badly injured man lying in the pool of his own blood after being hit by a driver who drove off after the accident. According to Uti, he called the emergency numbers provided by the state. He said the operator initially picked up his call and he gave them the location of the accident. He said after waiting for sometime without seeing any of the rescue team, he called again and the operator hung up on him.
The Actor decided to help the man by taking him to the hospital himself.
“Lagos State Government, I am completely appalled by you guys.

Operation London Bridge: List of the things that will happen after Queen Elizabeth’s death
Queen Elizabeth II is loved and adored by millions in the United Kingdom and hundreds of millions worldwide irrespective of personal opinions on her legacy and the role of the monarchy in different parts of the world.
She has been sitting on the British throne since February 1952, and is the second longest serving monarch in history, only 2 years behind Louis XIV whose reign lasted 72 years, 110 days.
Queen Elizabeth II’s time on the throne has encompassed countless pivotal moments in the nation’s history, with 15 British Prime Ministers serving during her reign. The first head of state to open two Olympic Games in two countries (Montreal 1976 and London 2012), she also became the first reigning British monarch to set foot in Russia in 1994.
Even though she is the most prominent monarch in the world, Queen Elizabeth II is still human, and subject to the laws of life and death. And today, Sep 8, 2022, she finally kicked the royal bucket.
Following her passing, “Operation London Bridge” – the codename given to the plan in place for national protocols that will be enacted in the event her death has been activated. These are the things that will now happen:
DAY OF THE QUEEN’S DEATH
1. Announcement of the Queen’s Death: On the day of her death, the Queen’s Private Secretary will inform the Prime Minister who will be one of the first to be informed of the monarch’s passing. This message will be delivered by the Queen’s Private Secretary and sent to members of the Privy Council Office.
Members of Parliament and senior civil servants will also receive a call and an email stating: “Dear colleagues, It is with sadness that I write to inform you of the death of Her Majesty The Queen.”
An announcement on social media and flags across the UK are to be at half-mast within 10 minutes of the news.
The London stock market will close for the day out of respect for the monarchy. Schools, businesses, and other public institutions will also close for the day.
2. Prince Charles Address: the soon-to-be crowned King Charles will address the nation in a televised broadcast after the announcement.
The Prime Minister will hold an audience with Charles, while the Ministry of Defence will organize gun salutes and a minute of silence will be held across the country.
There are ready-made documentaries about her life that will be released. BBC news casters have black suits on standby, and will change into them immediately after her death is announced. The iconic red logo of the BBC will change to black. The BBC will refrain from playing comedy shows until after the funeral as a sign of respect for the Queen.
DAY 2
– Prince Charles Becomes King: The Accession Council will name Charles the new King and a proclamation will be read out at St James’ Palace and the Royal Exchange.
The Prime Minister will give a speech which will be followed by a tribute from members of Parliament the next day.
Her Majesty’s coffin will return to Buckingham Palace where the PM and cabinet members will be waiting.
DAY 3 – 4
– KING CHARLES TOUR OF UK: King Charles will set off on his tour of the United Kingdom, visiting the Scottish Parliament and St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, then Northern Ireland’s Hillsborough Castle and a service at St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.
Meanwhile, in London, meticulous rehearsals for the late Queen’s funeral will be taking place.
DAY 5
– PROCESSION: On the fifth day, the Queen’s coffin will be led on a military procession, starting at Buckingham Palace and ending at the Houses of Parliament, then a service will be held at Westminster Hall.
The Queen will then lie in state for four days, as Kings Charles, the royal family, dignitaries from around the world, and members of the public visit to pay their respect.
DAY 6 – 9
– KING CHARLES VISITS WALES: King Charles will visit the Welsh Parliament and service at Cardiff’s Llandaff Cathedral.
Plans for the funeral will enter their final phase as mourners gather to mourn the Queen.
DAY 10
– THE QUEEN’S FUNERAL: The day of the Queen’s Funeral will be an official bank holiday. It will be a day of National Mourning and at 11 am, the bells of Big Ben will chime and a two (2) minute of silence will be held across the United Kingdom.
The funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey with 2,000 special guests, followed by a committal service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, where Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest next to her father King George VI.
The Stock Exchange will close that day, for the second time and many businesses will also close.
AFTERMATH OF THE QUEEN’S FUNERAL
- An official coronation for King Charles will take place on another bank holiday.
- The current notes and coins would slowly be withdrawn from circulation. New notes will be printed and King Charles’s portrait will be on the new notes.
- New stamps, passports, and police and military uniforms will also be printed.
- The Anthem is changed from God save the Queen to God save the King.
Note: There will be 12 days of mourning but only her funeral date will be a national holiday.

Queen Elizabeth II has died, aged 96.
Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch and the nation’s figurehead for seven decades, has died aged 96, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday.
Her family gathered at her Scottish estate after concerns grew about her health earlier on Thursday.
The Queen came to the throne in 1952 and witnessed enormous social change.
With her death, her eldest son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, will lead the country in mourning as the new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
“The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
All the Queen’s children travelled to Balmoral, near Aberdeen, after doctors placed the Queen under medical supervision.
Her grandson, Prince William, is also there, with his brother, Prince Harry, on his way.
Queen Elizabeth II’s tenure as head of state spanned post-war austerity, the transition from empire to Commonwealth, the end of the Cold War and the UK’s entry into – and withdrawal from – the European Union.
Her reign spanned 15 prime ministers starting with Winston Churchill, born in 1874, and including Liz Truss, born 101 years later in 1975, and appointed by the Queen earlier this week.
She held weekly audiences with her prime minister throughout her reign.
The Queen was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, in Mayfair, London, on 21 April 1926.

Big Brother Naija housemate, Bella has finally cleaned up the dining area where she poured food during an argument with Rachel.
Recall that the duo had a clash last night over food. Rachel, who had volunteered to make food for the house, alongside Phyna and Chichi, prepared rice for the entire house last night.
However, while she dished the food, Bella seemed not pleased as she insisted she wanted beef while Rachel gave her chicken.
Rachel tried to explain that there were only four beefs in the soup, and people had already told her they wanted it before Bella came.
This ticked off Bella’s lover, Sheggz, who lambasted Rachel and said that by now, Rachel should have known his woman’s likes and dislikes.
Sheggz called Rachel stupid, and she retaliated by calling him and his family unprintable names.
In an attempt to defend her lover, Bella returned the food Rachel dished out for her, shoving it in her face, and the food poured, which threw the house into chaos. Watch here

Blessing Newton Abahi, the woman behind the trending “bunch of women” soundtrack, has reconciled with her husband.
Blessing became an internet sensation a few months ago when a video of her telling a court how she found her husband having intercourse with eight women on their matrimonial bed went viral.
Blessing gave the court a vivid explanation of how she had witnessed her husband groping eight different women simultaneously in their marital bed and how he had viciously attacked her for getting in the way of his enjoyment.
While describing how she caught him red-handed on their matrimonial bed, she said, “There were a bunch of women, a bunch of women surrounded in my room.”
Soon after, the amusing sound was made into a soundtrack and used in memes and hilarious videos across social media platforms.
In an interview, Blessing revealed that she made the difficult decision to end the toxic marriage after her husband made an attempt on her life.
“Everybody now call me bunch of women if you really know the true story behind the video you will know that its not funny. You will have pity on me…There were really bunch of women in my room, eight of them and my husband was just busy, changing them like wrapper, when I spoke my husband slapped me, that what right do I have to interfere in his fun”, she said in part.
However, in a recent development, Blessing, who recently started a business with the help of funds from well-meaning Nigerians, has reconciled with her husband.
