The first thing that hits you with this device is its clean and sleek look; at the back is a white and black-lined aesthetic with its shiny finish, which makes you think of a perfectly normal phone with a beautiful design. But TECNO has a surprise waiting. They have marketed that the TECNO Camon 19 Pro Mondrian version is an artsy phone, and once sunlight hits; it will give us the Piet Mondrian Painting color schemes.
When we took it out in the sun, as mentioned, it changed color instantly, and the plain white background gave way to a colorful and exciting back cover. We tried it under UV light, and it gave the exact results. It was a fun experience as the child in us came out. We couldn’t stop putting it under the sun to get the preferred experience. Even with the transparent back case, it still gave us the whole Mondrian experience.

Kwara state governor congratulates 8-year-old badminton star after she called him out (Video)
The governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has congratulated eight-year-old badminton star, Adeela Adedeji, after she called him out for ignoring her win at the African Gymnastics Clubs Championships.
The 8-year-old Kwara-born athlete who represented her state at the competition in Pretoria, South Africa, won a silver medal.
In a trending clip, Adedeji apologized to the state government for not winning a gold medal and expressed disappointment in the state government for not congratulating her despite winning a silver medal.
Speaking to Arise TV, she said,
“First of all, I’d like to apologise to my state government in Kwara for winning a silver medal. Stephanie’s government congratulated her, but my government did not congratulate me.”

Well, the Kwara state governor, in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, has now congratulated Adeela Adedeji and fellow badminton star, Feranmi Adekunle Aguda.
The statement read,
“All of us in Kwara are proud of Feranmi and of the little Adeela for the honour they have brought to the state. They are our superstars! We celebrate them and certainly look forward to seeing them always reaching for the stars and breaking all the glass ceilings in the future,” the Governor said in a statement in honour of the little girl.

“I wrote JAMB five times” – Singer Crayon recounts his struggle with gaining admission before fame
Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Charles Chukwu, popularly known as Crayon, has revealed that he wrote the Joint Admission and Matriculation (JAMB) exam five times.
The Mavin star, in a recent interview on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds, said he struggled with gaining admission into a tertiary institution before he was fortunate enough to land a spot in the music industry.
According to the 21-year-old singer, he sat for JAMB five times – failed on his first two attempts and passed the following three attempts however he still failed to secure admission into any institution.
Speaking in the interview, the ‘Ijo’ crooner said,
“It has been amazing and beautiful to see because I have been working over the years and now, I am now finally getting the recognition that I deserve.
“So, it (recognition) is beautiful to see – among my fans, team, and everybody that knows me personally.
“I started making music like 2016 officially. I wasn’t in school then but trying to get into the university. I wrote JAMB five times.
“For the first two times, I failed; the rest three times, I passed. I kept going to the school to lay complaints and ask: ‘What’s up?’ It (gaining admission) wasn’t just happening for me,” he noted during the show. “I feel like it was God’s way of redirecting me.”

Controversial media personality, Daddy Freeze has tackled popular clergyman, Mike Bamiloye, over his savage response to a Facebook user who inquired about heaven.
The drama evangelist had taken to his Facebook page to share an unconfirmed report about the kingdom of heaven.
He wrote, “The most common words in heaven are: HALLELUYAH! and AMEN!”
An inquisitive Facebook user then asked to know if heaven truly exists and where it’s located.
“Where is Heaven?? Has anyone been there”, he wrote.
In response, the 62-year-old actor threw a jab at the Facebook user, saying that his post is only directed at Christians going to heaven.

A viral video has captured the emotional moment a Nigerian soldier reunited with his mother after one year on the frontline.
In the clip, the soldier, who had been away for one year fighting insurgents, marched towards his mother upon their reunion, saluted her, and then gave her a heartfelt embrace.
The mother was beaming from ear to ear, clearly overjoyed to see her son.
The soldier shared the video on social media with the caption, “Seeing my mum again after 1 year on the frontline.”

@MokejiB shared the story in reaction to a Twitter user who said she’s sorry for the type of men in the dating pool Nigerian women have to choose from.
According to her, she would have agreed that dating a fellow woman is better than dating a man if she had not witnessed an abusive lesbian relationship.
She said the alpha female in the polyamorous relationship brought in her two lesbian lovers to live with her and subjected them to physical and emotional abuses and was also cheating on them with other women.

“We’re still searching for Deborah’s killers, those arrested are not the suspected killers” – Police
The Sokoto State Police Command has disclosed that men of the force are still searching for the suspected killers of Deborah Samuel, who was gruesomely murdered in the state for alleged blasphemy.
Samuel, a 200-level student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto was stoned and burnt to death by some of her colleagues in May, 2022, over allegations that she made a comment in her school’s WhatsApp platform which her Muslim colleagues considered to be blasphemous against Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
At the time, the police confirmed that at least two people had been arrested over the killing of the female student. However, DSP Sanusi Abubakar, the spokesman for the command, in a recent statement noted that those arrested by the police months back are not the suspected killers.
According to Abubakar, who spoke with Punch over the case, they were only among those who organised the riot, adding that those arrested are still in custody as ordered by the court.
Abubakar further said that the prime suspects are still at large and efforts to bring them to book are ongoing.
“Those ones we arrested then, though not the suspected killers, contributed to the violent riot and were arraigned in court where the judge ordered that they should be remanded. Concerning those suspected killers, we have circulated their pictures to media houses and sent our intelligence to every part of the state.
“We are still on the lookout for them and we are confident of arresting them wherever they may be hiding. We will flush them out and arraign them before a competent court of law.” He said.
Speaking further, he promised that the command would not be biased on the case, and tha the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Gumel, would ensure that justice is serve

Struggling father devastated after finding out son was never enrolled in medical school after seven years of paying millions
A struggling father has been left devastated after finding out that his son, whom he had been sponsoring in medical school for 7 years, was never enrolled.
A Twitter user, @MrMekzy_, who shared the story on the micro-blogging platform, said that his uncle’s son had been siphoning money from the family while pretending to be enrolled in medical school.
He said that the boy successfully carried on this lie for seven years, receiving support from his father in the form of school supplies, food, and money for maintenance, until it was recently revealed that he had never been enrolled in school.
According to Mr. Mekzy, the devastated father has told his son to leave the house immediately, never to return.

A Twitter user has narrated how a Nigerian man, out of pride, refused to get a job to assist his student wife after they relocated to the UK.
According to the Twitter user @oegbe, the wife gained admission to study abroad, and the husband relocated with her as a dependant.
However, since they arrived in the UK, the man has refused to get a job to assist his wife, insisting that he cannot do “anyhow” job.
It was learned that the wife’s parents, who are both retirees, are responsible for paying their rent and other expenses from Nigeria, since the husband refused to work to support his student wife.
Narrating the incident on the micro-blogging platform, @oegbe wrote,

74-year-old Kogi man marries for the first time (Photos)
Mallam Muhammad Awal, a 74-year-old man from Kogi State has married for the first time.
The septuagenarian married a 45-year-old divorcee, Mallama Rahmat Muhammad, in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, on Sunday, August 28.
Speaking to journalists about why he waited this long before he settled down, Awal said lack of financial resources discouraged him from approaching a woman for marriage.
His words,
“I have always been afraid I might fail in my duty of care to a spouse if I married and it is something I fear and don’t want to joke with. I am also afraid of separation from my spouse.
I know if I fail to take care of her, she might either leave me or cheat on me with another man, which I would not like. So, to avoid all of that, I dismissed the idea of marriage altogether. But now, Allah has made this a reality. Many of them looked down on me, mostly because of my financial status. But I thank God it is in the past”.
Speaking on what drew him to his wife and whether he plans to have children with her, he said,
“Apart from the fact that she is beautiful, she is also down-to-earth, understanding, religious and rooted in the marital institution. Only Allah knows if we are going to have children. You never know what the Almighty can do. It is not in our hands, but His hands.”
On her part, the bride, Rahmat said that it was destined that they would end up as a couple.
“Allah has a reason for bringing us together and my prayers is for him to bless us and give us peace and understanding in our home.” She said.

He popped the question during a rally organized by youths in Onitsha on 28th August, 2022 and she accepted.
The Jubilant crowd cheered the lovebirds on as it was an automatic celebration and premium excitement for those present at the scene.

In related news, Nigerian Social media got buzzing recently with a news report from a popular news platform which claimed veteran singer, Femi Kuti called Peter Obi’s supporters and the ‘Obedient’ movement Zombies.
However, Femi Kuti has come out to say his words were taken out of context, and he added that what he meant was he’s too angry at his age to be ‘obedient’ and he does not like the ‘term’.

Nigerian singer, Kizz Daniel is seemingly making a moment like this a tradition in his concerts and live performances.
The singer who is having a swell time touring the continent in his Afro Classic World Tour, made a female fan in Malawi extremely happy as he brought her on stage and featured her in his performance.
The young lady was quite happy when she hopped on the singer and twerked seductively as he groped her butt and bounced her up and down his groin… much to the excitement of his Malawian fans.

Community members tie and flog widow after her late husband’s brother’s wife accused her of being a witch (Video)
The video of a widow being bound and flogged by members of her community in Umueghu in Amaegbuato autonomous community Nkpa Bende Local Government in Abia state, was recently shared online.
Human Rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared a video, revealed the widow was assaulted after her late husband’s brother’s wife accused her of being a witch.
Gwamnishu wrote;
When I talk about widows protection, I’m not asking for too much. Our mothers suffer the most from child delivery.
Mrs. Amarachi Okechi, a widow was accused of witchcraft by her late husband brother’s wife.
If you are from Umueghu in Amaegbuato autonomous community Nkpa Bende Local Government, Abia state, your community did this to this woman.
Even when the woman was begging and telling them she’s innocent, they tied her hand to her back, tied her two legs, flogged and filmed her.
Her children reached out to the Behind Bars and we have decided to take this matter up no matter what it will cost us.
This is barbaric and should be condemned by all.

Truck crushes Taekwondo athlete to death in Nasarawa days after she won a silver medal
A Taekwondo athlete identified as Maria Uchenna Raphael, has been killed in a motor accident in Nasarawa State.
Maria, who was a silver medal winner for team Nasarawa in the just concluded Bayelsa Open Taekwondo tournament, was crushed to death by a truck in Lafia, the state capital on Friday, August 26.
The Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, in a statement on Saturday, revealed that Maria had gone to purchase some items from a grocery store along UAC road few hours after returning home from the championship in Yenagoa, which ended on August 24th, 2022.
The statement which was signed by the spokesperson of the ministry, Uche Amos, described the death as an unquantifiable loss, adding that her immense contributions to sports in the state would be sorely missed.
“Words fail us as we were greeted today by the ugly news on the sudden death of one of our illustrious medal-winning athletes, Maria Raphael,” the statement read.
“She also won silver medal for Team Nasarawa at the recently concluded Bayelsa Open Taekwondo Championships held from 21st to 24th August, 2022, in Yenagoa, South-South Nigeria.
“The deceased was a committed, dedicated and focused athlete, winning medals of different categories for Nasarawa State, ranging from Cadet, Junior, and until her untimely demise, Senior Category
“Maria brought lots of glory and honour to Nasarawa State at different sporting championships.
“Her demise is an unquantifiable loss to everyone of us at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and Nasarawa State as a whole, while her immense contributions will be sorely missed.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with her immediate family, loved ones, fellow athletes and the sports world in general. We pray Almighty God to grant her soul eternal repose in heaven.”

A Nigerian couple have set the internet buzzing after a video from their luxurious, grand wedding ceremony found its way to the internet.
The bride and groom made a spectacular entry when they arrived in a private jet and drove into the reception venue in a green Lamborghini in the now viral clip.
When their jet landed at the airstrip, there was a lot of excitement and pomp from the guests who were already waiting to welcome them.
In another part of the video, as the couple thrilled guests with different dancing steps, the groom and his friends made money rain.

30-yr-old lady arrested for allegedly killing her estranged husband in Kebbi
A woman identified as Farida Abubakar, has been arrested by the police in Kebbi State for allegedly killing her estranged husband, Attahiru Ibrahim Zagga.
It was gathered that the 30-year-old suspect allegedly stabbed her estranged husband to death at his residence in Alieru Quarters, Birnin Kebbi on Thursday night, August 25.
SP Nafiu Abubakar, who is the spokesperson of the command, released a statement on Friday, August 26, and it was revealed the deceased is a Magistrate judge with Kebbi State judiciary.
“At about 11:40pm on Thursday, Policemen attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Gwadangaji, received an information that, a suspected strange noise was heard from the house of the victim, Attahiru Ibrahim, and his gate was also locked.
On receipt of the information, a team of Policemen were swiftly mobilized to the scene and forced themselves into the house where they found the said Attahiru Ibrahim lying down in pool of his own bl@@d and was later confirmed de@d by a medical Doctor
Similarly, his estranged wife, Farida Abubakar, was also seen inside the compound. Hence, she was suspected and arrested in connection with the case,” the statement read.

A Nigerian woman has narrated how her life changed for the better after she quit prostitution.
The abroad-based lady, who revealed she finally quit due to the low pay, stated that young girls were being paid as low as €10 per client as at 2013.
According to her, she decided she could do more with herself in 2013, so she stopped being a prostitute and took some courses to upskill herself.
She said that immediately after the course she got a job, which she now uses to fend for herself.
She stated that being a prostitute is a bad trade and urged those who are currently engaged in it to stop.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian lady has taken to social media to disclose that she has quit her day job as a sales representative to become a full-time runs girl.
The yet-to-be identified lady, speaking in a video making rounds online, said she arrived at the decision after she was paid N50,000 by a client to service him for one night.
According to her, she has not earned that much in her three months of working as a sales representative, and sees no reason to return to the job.
