Man allegedly batters a lady in for refusing to have sex with him after collecting N5,000
A man was reportedly arrested by police in Bayelsa State after he allegedly beat up a lady because she refused him sex.
According to reports, the incident occurred at the popular PDP Road junction by Isaac Boro express in Yenagoa, on Monday, August 22.
The suspect said that the lady collected N5,000 from him after she agreed to sleep with him but later changed her mind and refused to return the said money.
The scene gathered onlookers as the police intervened to help calm the situation and possibly prevent a mob action against the suspect.

Veteran Nigerian singer, Ikechukwu Onunaku has taken a trip down memory lane as he shares old tweets Wizkid posted about him in 2010.
Ikechukwu, who made waves in the music industry years ago and released several hit songs, took to his Instagram page to share screenshots of his exchange with Wizkid 12 years ago.

In a video that’s now serving rounds on social media, a lady is seen walking up to her beau when she suddenly falls to the ground. There actually was nothing wrong with her and she only slumped just so she could see how her man would react.
Quite surprisingly, the young man who was watching TV at the time of her prank, heard her fall and looked back to see her on the ground but took no further action and instead, continued with what he was doing.
His reaction to his partner seemingly in distress is what has made the video go viral with people finding the situation hilarious as they presume that for him to react that way, his partner is probably a drama queen and he was not up for another episode of hers at that moment.

In other news, controversial Instagram big girl, Teju Pretty was beaten and disgraced for allegedly refusing to pay back the sum of N150k she was owing an hair vendor, Rhiks hair.
Rhiks, who took to Snapchat to narrate the genesis of the incident, said in 2020 she mistakenly transferred N800k to Teju who was an influencer for her business at the time.
She said she contacted Teju to refund the money because it was meant for her lawyer, but she kept giving her excuses and managed to pay back N650k.
Till date, Teju allegedly refused to refund the balance of N150k even after she asked for it repeatedly, and became rude to her and berated her for ‘disturbing her peace’ because of N150k.

“Jesus never said you can’t remarry after getting a divorce” – Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo tells Christians
Popular clergyman and marriage counsellor, Kingsley Okonkwo has said Jesus Christ is not against divorced people getting married again.
During a sermon in his church recently, Pastor Okonkwo said he doesn’t know where people got the notion that the Bible is against divorcees remarrying.
According to him, Jesus is only against couples who are separated but not fully divorced getting married again.
His words,
“Jesus never said you can’t remarry when you are divorced. I don’t know where people even got it from. So what confuses people is that Jesus said if you put away your wife and you go and remarry, you are committing adultery
There is putting away and there is what is call giving a bill of divorcement. Putting away is separation. Giving a bill of divorcement is the proper divorce. When you are seperated you are not divorced. Some couple separate so they can work on the marriage. Some times they come together.
In counselling we call it controlled separation, so you are separated but working with a counsellor.
Separation is not divorce. You can separate and come back. When you are separated, you can’t go and remarry. That is what Jesus means that when you separate and go and remarry you are committing adultery because you are not divorced and if you go and marry somebody that is just separated and divorced, you are also committing adultery because the person is not preperly divorced. That is what it means.
The bible is clear that once you divorce someone you can remarry.”

The Vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kashim Shettima, is currently trending on Twitter over the outfit he wore to the Nigeria Bar Association Conference in Lagos State.
Shettima was representing the APC national leader and presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, at the 62nd Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) conference that was held today, Monday, August 22, in Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos state.
The 55-year-old was dressed in a suit and tie, accompanied by a pair of gym shoes, which has elicited reactions from social media users.

“I became a skeptic after being poisoned by someone I helped” – Mr Ibu
Veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has said that he started doubting people’s intentions after he was poisoned.
The comic-act, who had previously spoken about his near-death experience after being poisoned, said in an interview with Punch that he now finds it hard to trust people and is wary of new faces around him considering that someone he had helped in the past attempted to take his life.
He further revealed that he is still undergoing treatment in Abuja because there are still some remnants of the poison in his system.
“These days, I am usually skeptical because I later found out that it was somebody I had helped in the past (who poisoned me). If not for God, the result would have been bad. As I speak with you now, I am still being treated somewhere in Guzape, Abuja,” He said.
A while ago, Mr Ibu shared the sad story of how he almost lost his life after he was poisoned a couple of times by his staff who he alleged were paid by his kinsmen to kill him.
Mr Ibu sharing his near death experience in an interview with Nigizietv stated that if not for God he would have been dead by now.
According to him, the poison made his stomach big that he couldn’t see his legs, adding that he was placed on medications which began to help reduce his bulging stomach.
Singer, Eedris Abdulkareem successfully undergoes kidney transplant
Veteran Nigerian singer, Eedris Abdulkareem, has successfully undergone kidney transplant surgery.
It would be recalled that in July, 2022, Abdulkareem’s management called for prayers for him and revealed he was set to undergo kidney transplant.
Well, giving an update on the procedure in a statement released on Monday, August 22, his management stated that the singer has successfully undergone kidney transplant.
The statement further noted that Eedris and his wife, Yetunde, who is his kidney donor, were both recuperating.
The statement titled, “Latest update on Eedris Abdulkareem health challenge” read,

John Nyabuto Kiyondi, the father of a 24-year-old Kenyan lady, Hellen Wendy Kemunto, who drowned in Canada, has spoken for the first time since her tragic death.
Hellen Wendy Kemunto, a nursing student in Canada died last Thursday while live-streaming herself swimming in a pool.
Speaking on the tragic incident, the 55-year-old bereaved father said he was overcome with emotions as he painfully watched his daughter’s life come to a stop after drowning in a swimming pool.
According to him, he did not first realize why the video was trending.
“I watched the clip from my phone. I saw it was my daughter swimming excitedly. I did not see anything unusual. She was just swimming, talking to the camera, and she looked very happy. However, I saw people writing sorrowful comments, and I did not understand why they were saying bad news, yet she was just swimming”, he said.
He said he missed the few final moments where Wendy drowned before the live footage went silent until someone from Canada called him to convey the news of her demise.
“Reality hit me when a Kenyan from Canada called and explained to me that my daughter drowned as documented in the sad clip while swimming. I was so shocked and couldn’t stop crying”. He said.
The father also revealed that Wendy, who was studying nursing, left home five years ago and had not returned since.
“She is our firstborn daughter. She travelled to Canada in 2018 and was studying nursing. Wendy was my only hope.”
Speaking further with Nation Kenya, he said she had applied for and won a chance to live in Canada, the equivalent of the US Green Card.
“While in high school, she used to tell me that she harboured the dream of going overseas. One evening, she came home and told me she had won herself a ‘Green Card’ to go to Canada. She asked me to help her raise her airfare. I went to a local chama, borrowed some money and together with what I had saved, we saw her off,” Mr Nyabuto said, amid tears.
According to Kiyondi, his late daughter Hellen put a lot of effort into their family’s success in Kenya since she was aware of how difficult things were for them there.

Man divorces his wife for refusing to change her surname to his in all her documents and social media handles
A man has reportedly ended his two-year marriage to his wife for refusing to change her surname to his.
According to a Facebook user, Iyke Orji, the wife had defied her husband’s repeated requests to change her surname name to his name on all of her official documents and social media profiles.
Orji said the husband had asked the wife to effect the change of name on her documents as well as her social media handles, but she refused, claiming that the change would negatively affect her.
This reportedly triggered the man, and he decided to file for a divorce.
“So one of my friends just divorced the wife four days ago. A marriage of 2 years. What was the issue? It was something Very little that matured and loyal minds could tackle. He asked the Lady to edit her father’s name in all her handles to Their surname since they’re now married.
“He asked her to get a court affidavit to change even her Bank details, and other stuffs relating to her that bore her father’s name. Two beautiful Nigerian female police officers have set the internet buzzing with stylish photos of them that surfaced online.
One of the police officers who doubles as a content creator, @Kuvana_of_Lagos, shared a video which showed her and her colleague in their uniforms alongside photos of them slaying in bikinis and a denim outfit.
The now viral video, which has garnered over 100k views on the video-sharing platform, was shared with the caption, “sis dat slay together, work together, miss you big sis.”

The young man who has been dubbed as a “playboy” took to his Snapchat account to show off the different girlfriends he has in his life. It’s speculated that the ladies are not aware of their man’s escapades.
In the video which was a compilation, the young guy showed off all four girls on his Snapchat account on separate days.
In the videos, the lovers are seen all loved-up in what is believed to be the young guy’s room as he played songs to entertain themselves.

Big Brother Naija season 7 housemate, Deji Morafa, has complained about how protective his love interest and co-star, Chichi, is of him.
This comes after Chichi picked a fight with Diana on Sunday night because of him.
Recall that the levels were eliminated and both houses were merged together as one.
Due to this, the lockers were not enough for all the housemates and Deji, who was close to Chichi in the Level 1 house, decided to share his locker with Diana.
This didn’t sit well with Chichi and she took out her anger on Diana, and called her unprintable names. Watch here
Following the heated altercation, Deji spoke to Phyna about how he feels about the fight and said he is disappointed in Chichi.
He also revealed that he has noticed that some of the housemates have been avoiding him because they are scared of what Chichi might do to them.
He further revealed that Allysn, who is an item with Hermes, told him Chichi once confronted her for hanging out with him.
His words,
“I’m disappointed in what she did and I’ll let her know.
“Allysn even came to me and said Chichi asked why she was following her man. And she and Hermes are together.
“I’ve noticed housemates don’t want to come close to me because they are afraid of Chichi, before she’ll break their head.”

A Nigerian lady has received praise online after she revealed she persevered with her partner despite his financial difficulties.
The young lady recounts in a viral video that when she first met her boyfriend and they began dating, he couldn’t afford to get himself a phone. Despite this, she stuck with him, and happily, her patience paid off.
The lady, identified as Barbie Lucien on TikTok, shared a video which showed a transition from when they just started dating to the present day, where he now owns a Mercedes Benz.
In the clip, the couple can be seen taking a spin in the luxury car.

Following Sheggz’s Tuesday night’s heated altercation with housemate Adekunle, the pair spoke at length about the negative energy they have been getting from the majority of their level mates.
Recall that Sheggz and Adekunle got into a heated argument on Tuesday night, August 16.
The level 1 housemates, who have barely been on good terms since the start of the season, got into a war of words that came to near fisticuffs.
The drama started last night when Sheggz called Adekunle stupid and accused him of playing the victim card. This triggered Adekunle, who in response, told Sheggz that he’s not intellectual.
The situation escalated, and the housemates almost got physical, but for the quick intervention of their colleagues.
Well, speaking to his love-interest after the brawl with Adekunle, Sheggz told Bella that the housemates do not like them because they love each other.
Bella, in response, agreed and noted that she has also experienced some sort of hostility towards them from their colleagues.

Portable’s nonstop controversial utterances on social media resulted in him being disqualified by organizers of the coveted Nigerian award show.
