Since the new name now has “Big” replaced with “Kid”, it’s suggested that the change might be as a result of the constant advice from his fans to change his name from “Wizkid”, since he has evolved from the young Wiz who made his debut in the Nigerian music industry in 2009.

“TB Joshua caused a lot of harm to many people especially LGBTQ folks who he conducted ‘conversion’ therapy on” – LGBTQ activist, Pamela Adie

Nigerian LGBTQ activist, Pamela Adie has reacted to the death of leader and founder of The Synagogue Church of All Nations, TB Joshua.

In a Facebook post she shared, Adie said she is indifferent about it because according to her, TB Joshua ’caused a lot of harm to many people especially LGBTQ folks who he conducted ‘conversion’ therapy on, which she also claimed never worked.’

Read her post below ;

I can understand if TB Joshua was your pastor and you’re mourning him. He wasn’t my pastor so I’m under no obligation whatsoever to mourn him.
What I don’t understand and will not accept is those saying “it’s not the right time” to comment on his attrocities.
When is it ever the “right time” to hold these evil people accountable?
When they’re alive, their followers will tell you “touch not my anointed”, when they die, they’ll say “ allow the family mourn”.
Crap!
What about the grave injustices they committed? Those who lost their lives because of their lies and deception?
When will be the right time for them to get justice or even be heard?
TB Joshua was a harmful man who is responsible for the death of so many of the desperate and gullible people who went to him to seek help at their lowest points. He took advantage of them and they lost their lives.
Countless stories of people who died in the synagogue waiting for anointing oil and miracle water to work. People who had AIDS and other serious illnesses stopped taking their medication because they believed he could cure them. Of course they eventually died.
What about the time when his building collapsed and over 100 people died. What happened? His defense was that a strange plan flew over the building before it collapsed, so it was an attack.
LIES!
The investigation revealed that the building had structural defects that led to it collapse.
Where’s the justice for that?? NONE!
Who went to jail for that? No one.
Not a single soul was held accountable. He didn’t even show up in court. There are reports that he allegedly paid reporters to kill the story. That was how everything disappeared from the news.
What about the people he said he “cured” homosexuality? The fake “conversion” therapy he performed from TV screens and in his church? The damage that caused to many families by giving them false hope that their family members will be “cured”, even though a person’s Sexual orientation is not a disease.
Who gets justice for that? Who?
He got sick and was on the way to hospital when he passed, while people were in his church waiting for his anointing oil to heal them.
Sigh!
But you people want to whitewash history and shut people up for speaking up about the henious crimes he committed.
You don’t give a hoot about his family grieving or whatever nonsense you come up with in your head and spew out of your mouths.
You just don’t want to hear the truth about a person you probably liked and adored because it makes you feel bad.
GTFOOH!
Yes, I’m very angry.
You’re under no obligation to like or comment on my post, feel free to move on to the next one.
You don’t see me in people’s post telling them what to talk about. So don’t bring that shit here.
If you’re so pained, go express it on your wall.

Unpaid Debt Saga : Say no to cyber bullying. Celebrity lives matter — Actor Mofe Duncan writes

Actor Mofe Duncan has resolved the unpaid debt he was called out for by crossdresser, Michelle Page.

However, he shared the conversation he had with the crossdresser who accused him of offering “services” he didn’t pay for, and it turned out to be a Make-up job, the crossdresser did for his now ex-wife some 6 years ago.

Mofe was befuddled that he’ll be called out for a debt his ex-wife accrued 6 years ago, and he took to his page to take a stand against cyber-bullying.

He however paid the debt because he’s a CIVIL person.

He wrote ;

So yesterday… Aunty Michelle felt that using social media to “call me out” would attract the necessary attention he thrives on and to my abject disbelief, I was stunned. So apparently Aunty Michelle used to be a guy called Eniola (I just found that out yesterday). She has chosen to play this social media battle game in an attempt to either ruin my reputation or gain attention or feel like she has power to be relevant by being toxic… I know, and I’ve been told that all this drama would gain her followers but I really don’t give a fuck about that. Having followers on IG is a misconception some people believe gives them relevance, power and happiness, that’s their business. I’m just here to offer my truth. ☆

☆ For years I have ignored and run from responding to negativity online but for some reason, I want to help her gain the followers she so desperately desires by attending to her flicker of fame and her decision to use my name to trend, but I am kind, and I don’t mind. ☆

☆ Slide1: Shows Aunty Michelle’s latest post, playing the victim card and portraying me as a villain. Her manager’s post suggests “a service was rendered to me” and the caption was coined to ask “what is the service rendered?”. Exciting right? We’ll get to that.
• S2: Shows the moment Aunty Michelle followed me just after 8PM yesterday.
• S3: The 1st correspondence btwn us. You may wonder why I chose to respond but if u recall my previous post (which is now deleted), I asked her to “talk to me directly and not go through the corners” which she did so I was obliged to respond.

• S4: Self explanatory.
• S5: Is the so called “service rendered”. MAKE UP 4 JESS. Do I know what was discussed between them? No. But yet, it’s MOFE DUNCAN that is owing for a “service rendered”. Imagine.
• S6: After speaking with Jess who calmed me down and asked to pay. Alot was said btwn S5 & S6.
• S7: Is Aunty saying whatever Jess decides to pay is fine.
• S8: Is me mediating between her and Jess informing the amount Jess agreed to pay and me offering extra because I’m civil.
• S9: Her accepting 35k.
• S10: Self explanatory.
• After agreeing, she now wants to extort more by her claims in S1. ☆

OAP, Sandra Ezekwesili has aired her opinion about the circumstances surrounding Prophet TB Joshua’s Death.

She wrote: “TB Joshua was reportedly ill and went to the hospital. Did he teach his numerous followers to try hospitals and not abandon their medication for his holy water and anointing oil? His ministry did a lot of damage. Any conversation that doesn’t include that, is dishonest.”

On Sunday June 6, the world woke up to news of the passing of charismatic preacher and televangelist Temitope Balogun Joshua, better known as TB Joshua. The 57-year-old died, of unknown causes, a week before his 58th birthday.

Earlier this year, Joshua’s YouTube channel was banned by the platform amidst accusations of hate speech after he claimed that he could cure gay congregants.

Twitter Ban Is A Violation Of Our Human Rights – Desmond Elliot

Nigerian filmmaker turned politician, Desmond Elliot, has learnt his voice against the Federal Government’s decision to ban Twitter operations in Nigeria.

On Friday the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, via a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Segun Adeyemi, announced the indefinite suspension of Twitter operations in Nigeria.

The statement read, “The Federal Government has suspended, indefinitely, the operations of the microblogging and social networking service, Twitter, in Nigeria.

“The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced the suspension in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, citing the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.

“The Minister said the Federal Government has also directed the National Broadcasting Commission to immediately commence the process of licensing all OTT and social media operations in Nigeria.”

Early today, the Twitter ban took effect to the displeasure of many Nigerians especially celebrities who use the platform to communicate directly with their fans.

In a Twitter thread, Elliot, the lawmaker representing Surulere at the Lagos State House of Assembly called on the federal government to reverse the suspension stating that the ban, ‘no matter the reasons proffered tramples upon our fundamental rights as people.’

The legislator said, “I want to admonish our government to always remember that the people’s right to express themselves freely must not be compromised. This ban, no matter the reasons proffered tramples upon our fundamental rights as people.”

Elliot reminded the government that Nigerian youths trade their wares and advertise their businesses and services via the micro-blogging site.

He said, “In a democratic society like ours, we must weigh the economic and social impact of this ban on the populace — especially our teeming youths and entrepreneurs who depend solely on this platform to carry out their legitimate business.

“In the past, our government have shown the required goodwill to stand on side of the people even when it’s not too convenient for them to do so. I believe that this won’t be an exception. I want to appeal to the government to reconsider this ban in the interest of our people and our country at large.”

Meanwhile, the politician has come under fire several times on Twitter after some of his comments did not sit down well with Nigerian youths.

For instance, in October 2020, during the #EndSARS protest, Elliot was heavily criticized for allegedly supporting Anti-Social Media Bills in Nigeria; an allegation he earlier denied when the news first filtered in via social media.

However, in a viral video that still circulates all over the internet, he was seen criticizing social media users and influencers, emphasising that if the Nigerian state doesn’t stop social media, it will destroy the country.

His comments were not taken lightly by Nigerians on social media and thus the popular Nigerian pidgin slang, Na Desmond Elliot Cause Am, meaning It’s Desmond Elliot’s fault, was born. The slangs trends occasionally on the Nigerian Twitter space.

JUST IN: Presidential Statement On Twitter Suspension In Nigeria By Garba Shehu

The Presidency has described widespread translation of the recent suspension of the social media platform, Twitter’s operation in Nigeria as misleading, saying it has nothing to do with the deletion of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweets.

The federal government, on Friday, announced a temporary suspension of Twitter’s operation in Nigeria, amidst controversy trailing the social media platform’s pulling down part of President Buhari’s tweets, which addressed the administration’s response to recent violent activities linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in the Southeast region of the country.

In a statement issued by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the Presidency said government’s action was rather in response to the micro-messaging platform’s long-observed misdemeanors, including misinformation and spread of fake new, which it said had led to violent ends.

“The temporary suspension of Twitter is not just a response to the removal of the President’s post. There has been a litany of problems with the social media platform in Nigeria, where misinformation and fake news spread through it have had real world violent consequences. All the while, the company has escaped accountability.

“Nevertheless, the removal of President Buhari’s tweet was disappointing. The censoring seemed based on a misunderstanding of the challenges Nigeria faces today.

“The President in his address at the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA in 2019 said “the world was shocked and startled by the massacre in New Zealand by a lone gunman taking the lives of 50 worshippers.

“This and similar crimes which have been fueled by social media networks risk seeping into the fabric of an emerging digital culture.

“Major tech companies must be alive to their responsibilities. They cannot be allowed to continue to facilitate the spread of religious, racist, xenophobic and false messages capable of inciting whole communities against each other, leading to loss of many lives. This could tear some countries apart.

“President Buhari has therefore been warning against social media’s disruptive and divisive influences and the government’s action is not a knee-jerk reaction to Twitter’s preposterous deletion of his tweet which should have been read in full”, the statement said.

Reacting to the narrative that President Buhari’s comments in the deleted tweets were genocidal in nature or a threat to citizens, the Presidency said it was rather a statement of fact about situations witnessed during the Nigerian civil war, adding that it was was rather an assurance that rights of Nigerians would be preserved.

It, however, noted that government would not fold its arms when the activities of IPOB, which it insists is a proscribed terror organisation, continue to put pressure on the peace and security of the country, a situation it said Twitter had refused to take notice of.

“The tweet was not a threat, but a statement of fact.

“A terrorist organisation (IPOB) poses a significant threat to the safety and security of Nigerian citizens.

“When the President said that they will be treated ‘in a language they understand’, he merely reiterated that their force shall be met with force. It is a basic principle of security services response world over.

“This is not promotion of hate, but a pledge to uphold citizens’ right to freedom from harm. The government cannot be expected to capitulate to terrorists.

“IPOB is proscribed under Nigerian law. Its members murder innocent Nigerians. They kill policemen and set government property on fire. Now, they have amassed a substantial stockpile of weapons and bombs across the country.

“Twitter does not seem to appreciate the national trauma of our country’s civil war. This government shall not allow a recurrence of that tragedy,” the statement said.

Intending couple left stranded as wedding registrar travels out of town for a burial

A Nigerian couple were recently left stranded on their wedding day as marriage registry officials refused to show up.

It was gathered that the couple were supposed to tie the knot at the Edo State Ministry of Interior on Friday, May 28th but unfortunately the registrar, Ozuruonye Chukuma, who was supposed to officiate at the wedding was absent.

Ozuruonye Chukuma was said to have traveled out of town for a funeral without prior notice to the couple nor delegating his duty to someone else.

The displeased groom in an interview with ITV News Benin city lamented that there was no way they could postpone the wedding as food and drinks for the reception had already been prepared and paid for.

Speaking further, he also noted that their families and friends who had traveled from far could not be asked to go back and return on a later date for the wedding.

“I came with my family, some came from Abuja, some from Ekpoma and right now, they are telling us the registrar travelled. Nobody informed us about it. We (my wife and I) are confused and disappointed and I don’t know what to do.” He said.

“Twitter has become a source of livelihood for many” – Gov Makinde urges FG to rescind decision to suspend Twitter

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has reacted to the Nigerian Federal government’s decision to suspend Twitter operations in the country.

In a statement shared on his Twitter page this morning, the governor reminded the Federal government of how important the social networking platform is to Nigerians of today.

He points out that the app has become a source of livelihood to some Nigerians and stressed that as leaders, the government should go beyond emotional reactions to issues and think about how our actions will affect the people we lead and our international ratings socially and economically.

Read the statement below,

It has become imperative for me to release a statement regarding the suspension of Twitter’s operations in Nigeria by the Federal Government.

As leaders, we should go beyond emotional reactions to issues and think about how our actions will affect the people we lead and our international ratings socially and economically.

Twitter has become the platform for young people and indeed all Nigerians to exercise their fundamental right to express and publish an opinion.

They use the platform to complain, argue and give feedback to government and its agencies who in turn, use these to improve policies. This is a fundamental point that should be kept in mind as we debate the necessity of this suspension.

We should also remember that Twitter has gone beyond a source of communication for many of our hardworking youths in Nigeria. It has become a source of livelihood for many, irrespective of their political affiliations or religious leanings.

Nigerian youths and digital communications organizations earn a living from being able to use the platform to post communications on behalf of their clients.

Others who may not have physical stores also rely on Twitter to give visibility to their products and services.

Furthermore, I believe the Federal Government should be actively interested in how certain policies and action will affect investor confidence.

I, therefore, use this medium to appeal to the Federal Government to reverse this suspension for the greater good of Nigerians.

“God made her”- Comedian Etinosa berates Nigerians who say BBNaija made Tacha

Actress, Etinosa, has taken to her social media page to berate Nigerians for saying that Big Brother Naija reality show made Tacha.

Recall that a few days ago, Tacha shared a video online where declared that contrary to popular opinion, BBNaija did not make her, rather, she gave BBNaija a show.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, Etinosa said it is wrong for anyone to attribute Tacha’s success to BBNaija, she insisted that Tacha’s God and destiny made her.

In her words;

Some of you like seeing someone down maybe because you are down too and misery loves company.

When some Nigerians say be humble, many atimes they want you to lie on the ground for them to match your head. They don’t like it when someone ,knows their worth, maybe because they are worthless themselves (I can never forget how some Nigerians were celebrating burnas first LOSS at the Grammys)

Even though BBN was part of her success, it is wrong to berate her personal effort and grace by saying “bbn made you”. God made her The oil on her head made her Her destiny made her Afterall, many went to the same BBN but…

Please just Stop berating people so you too can be ‘made’ This life is controlled in the spirit. Don’t let your bad Belle Rob you of your own blessings Shalom
