A little boy, Muhammad Kabir, who was kidnapped from his parents’ home in a Kaduna state, has been found dead, seven days after he was taken and N5 million ransom was paid for his release.
DailyTrust reports that Kabir was taken from the Badarawa suburb of Kaduna North local government area and is believed to have been killed by his kidnappers, one of whom is said to be his neighbour. His body was found in drainage in Kano after a weeklong search and returned to Kaduna today May 1 for burial.
Sources in the community also said immediately the boy was declared missing, a search for him was done for days before a call came in from the kidnappers demanding N50m, and then later reduced the amount to N35m before finally agreeing to N5m.
Abdulrahman Kabir Magayaki, a brother to the victim, said late Kabir was taken away from their house to Zaria then to Kano State where his body was retrieved after the ransom was paid.
“One of the suspects that took the boy away was our neighbour while the ex-military personnel was also a resident in the community. They took him to Zaria from there to Kano where his body was retrieved inside drainage after they collected 5 million naira ransom,” he said.
Abdulrahman said the victim’s body was brought back to Kaduna and buried according to Islamic rites on Saturday May 1. Another resident, on condition of anonymity, said the victim must have been killed after he recognised the faces of his abductors since they all live in the same area.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Kaduna state police command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said three suspects have been arrested in connection to the crime, including the neighbour.
He said they all confessed to the crime but said he cannot comment on the military background of one of the suspects until after the investigation is concluded.

In a bid to get a clue on her whereabout, netizens went through the timeline of the missing lady and they found a tweet she made, indicating interest in a job offer posted by a male Twitter user.
The man, with the Twitter handle @MiraclePapaa, had tweeted,
“Will you work in a construction company as a secretary? I like you bring your CV to Udo udomma Avenue. The name of the company is u&k limited.”
Meanwhile Iniobong who indicated interest in the job wrote, “Yes please, I would love to. Can I send a DM for more information please?”
This Twitter exchange was on Tuesday, April 27th, she left for the interview on Thursday, April 29th, and hasn’t been seen or heard from since the last call where she was allegedly screaming.
Twitter users took to Sir Edem’s account, accusing him of knowing something about the woman’s disappearance.
The man went on to change his handle and username a number of times and this made Twitter users even more suspicious.
They also shared screenshots of his tweet with the missing woman and asked him to tell them where the U&K company is located as it can’t be found anywhere in Akwa Ibom or on Google.
MiraclePapaa also known as Sir Edem denied the allegations and insisted he never invited the woman for any interview.
In his words,
“I don’t know anything about this please. Have returned my user name to the normal. Am not running too. But if I don’t survive this. Let it be known that I am innocent of this Crime against Humanity. Let people who accused me keep calm. It will soon be over”.

Comedian and actress, Princess, has given a blow-by-blow account of how actor, Baba Ijesha, allegedly raped her 14-year-old foster daughter, seven years ago.
In an interview with TVC on Friday, April 30, Princess said this isn’t a case of molestation but rape. In her words;
No, she was raped. Immediately, she told us, she wrote a statement with the police, explained how it was done. He asked her to remove her pant, he removed his pant, asked her to sit on his p*enis and start riding him. Then she felt a wetness all over her body. He brought out a handkerchieft and cleaned it. He asked her to go and bring a towel to clean the remaining. Then he came about a day or two later to tell me that he brought food for us and I told him that I am not going outside.

In a video she released during the week, Princess said the victim began to behave abnormal after the alleged incident as her grades started dropping in school and her character became quite strange.
She said the victim only opened up recently to her to inform her on what the actor allegedly did to her when she was seven. Princess said to nab him in the act, she and other people lured him to her house where she had planted CCTV cameras.
She said while in his house, Baba Ijesha attempted to molest her child again.

Rape cases and sexual molestations have become the order of the day, and the victims are not getting enough justice. Most of these perpetrators still walk freely,” she told Saturday Beats.
Veteran Yoruba Actor, Mr. Latin, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing molestation case against actor, Baba Ijesha.
The veteran yoruba actor took to his social media page to address people in the film industry about Baba Ijesha’s case. 17-year-old secondary school graduate, Victory Yinka-Banjo, was offered more than $5 million dollars’ worth of scholarship money for an undergraduate program of study, according to admission documents and estimates of financial aid awards.
“It still feels pretty unbelievable. I applied to so many schools because I didn’t even think any school would accept me,” Victory told CNN.

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Team (DSVRT), has revealed it is actively following the Baba Ijesha alleged rape case.
Recall that the veteran actor, Baba Ijesha, has been accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl since she was seven.
In a statement released on Friday, April 30th, DSVRT says it is following up on the case and has absolute confidence in the criminal justice system in the state.
The statement reads,
This is to inform members of the public that the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Team is actively following up on the Baba Ijesha’s case, we are also in direct contact with the complainant with a view to providing the necessary support.
We confirm that the duplicate case file has been forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice. For avoidance of doubt, the following allegations are being considered:
(1) Sexual Assault by Penetration- S 261 of the Criminal law of Lagos State, 2015 punishable by Life imprisonment
(2) Attempted Sexual Assault by Penetration-S262 of the Criminal law , punishable by 14 years imprisonment
(3) Sexual Assault- S263 of the Criminal Law, punishable by 3 years imprisonment
(4) Indecent treatment of a child- S135 of the Criminal Law punishable by 7 years imprisonment

The mother of one was showered with a whopping sum of five hundred thousand naira as birthday gift, by her close friend, Ifunanya.

Fans of popular singer, Wande Coal, have taken to social media to express concern about his health after a recent video of the singer surfaced online.
In the viral video, the “Bumper to Bumper” hitmaker was seen walking into a studio and he also paid pleasantries to people in the studio.
However, the video has gotten netizens buzzing on social media as they point out that Wande Coal has added weight and his stomach looks bigger than usual.
While some well-meaning fans expressed genuine concern about his well being, some made rhetorical comments about the singer’s weight as they wonder if he is “pregnant”.
Reality TV star, Natacha Akide popularly known as Tacha, has issued a stern warning to religious leaders ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
The ex-BBNaija housemate took to Instagram to ask religious leaders to support their choice candidate singlehandedly, and not use God’s name to influence people’s decision.
According to her, Nigeria has been set back by 50 years and it’d take several years for us to make progress, so using false prophecies to gain political favours will only make matters worse for the country.
The 25-year-old entrepreneur noted that she respects religion and religious leaders but it is wrong for them to claim God has appointed a particular candidate to lead, when they didn’t hear from God.
“2023 election is coming up, support your candidate. If God did not say anything to you, don’t involved him,” she told pastors.
