The National Primary Health Care Development Agency had said it would commence the vaccination of Nigerians in priority groups, starting with frontline healthcare workers.

“This is a landmark moment for the country and the COVAX Facility’s mission to help end the acute phase of the pandemic by enabling equitable access to these vaccines across the world. We are glad to see Nigeria is amongst the first receiving the doses from COVAX, thanks to the excellent level of preparedness put in place by the Government of Nigeria,” said Thabani Maphosa, Managing Director for Country Programmes at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

Stem cells are thought to have great therapeutic and biotechnological potential.

“Your baby’s umbilical Cord tissue/Blood/Placenta is made of tissues that protects and insulates the veins responsible for carrying blood to and from mom and baby during pregnancy.

“In addition to playing the role of protector, your baby’s umbilical cord tissue is packed with several types of stem cells, including Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs), which are different than the Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) found in abundance in cord blood.

“Cord tissue is the insulating material surrounding the vessels of the umbilical cord. Upon delivery, the umbilical cord will be clamped and cut, and a section of the Cord (usually a piece measuring 4 inches in length) can then be saved,” he explained.

He stressed the tissues contain millions of a different type of stem cell that goes on to form a person’s nervous system, sensory organs, circulatory tissues, skin, bone, cartilage, and more.

“It is these stem cells that we collect and preserve for their potential future or immediate use in the treatment of disease or other medical conditions like Autism, Stroke, Cerebral Palsy.

“Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) can rapidly divide, regenerate, and differentiate into many cell types including neural cells, bone cells, and cartilage. They also have the ability to respond to inflammation and aid in tissue repair.

“These unique qualities have researchers excited about their potential to help improve certain conditions affecting cartilage, muscle, and nerve cells.

“They possess unique qualities, such as their ability to respond to inflammation, help the immune system, and aid in tissue repair”.

He noted that a significant amount of research is underway to better understand how MSCs from cord tissue could play a role in future therapies that could benefit from their properties, like Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, Type 1 diabetes, Lung cancer.

“In fact, scientists and researchers are interested in MSCs from cord tissue to help possibly heal the damage done by COVID-19. Clinical Research Studies are underway using stem cells from cord tissue in the treatment of Covid-19”, he said.

I am the person that they look at and say, ‘Why is Kidd doing so well?’ ‘Why is Kidd so happy?’ ’I don’t like the fact that he is happy’; so, of course, they direct their pain at me. The same way they direct their pain at David or other celebrities.

“I understand it comes with the package of being in the industry. As a matter of fact, it is not only celebrities that get attacked, it is anyone that is successful or people that are genuinely happy with their lives that get bashed by people that are not happy with their lives.”

Kiddwaya stated that the online bashing did not affect him then because he was really focused on building his brand and his fan base across the globe, according to what he promised them.

“I promised them that I will take the brand global. I don’t have time to be listening to trolls or letting them get to me. It is not something that is a necessity in my life; it did not take food away from my stomach, it did not take air away from my lungs, it did not take happiness away from my soul. It doesn’t get to me”, he added.

When asked about the reason behind their break-up, Kiddwaya simply said, “Honestly, in this interview, I am definitely not providing anything that has to do with my relationship because right now, I don’t want the item to be about that.

“I have achieved so much from the Big Brother house up till this point that I actually want to focus on the milestone that I have hit. I don’t want to create a situation where everyone is talking about my relationship. It will take away from this amazing interview that we are having. When it comes to relationships, I will not answer it respectfully.”

Despite the online attacks he has faced ever since he came to the public glare through the Big Brother Naija reality show, Kiddwaya stated that he had no regret competing in the 2020 edition of the show.

According to him, he can never regret contesting at the Big Brother Naija reality show because of the opportunity the platform has given him to help billions of people and to make them happy and smile.

“With the platform, I have been able to inspire like-minded people to go into the show to do what I did and exceed what I have done. There is no way that I can regret it. I am very grateful to DSTV and Multichoice,” Kiddwaya said.
