I am grateful to have a gay child — Charly Boy

Veteran Nigerian singer, Charles Oputa, otherwise known as Charly Boy has said he’s proud and grateful to have a gay child.

According to the singer, he’s close to his children and he loves them to bits so when his daughter came out of the closet to him, he accepted her wholeheartedly.

He shared adorable photos of himself and his daughter with the caption ;

For Parents Only.
About 4yrs ago, my last Princess of the house called me from America, from her tone I was bracing up for whatever she was about to tell me especially when she kept saying to me, “daddy promise me you won’t get mad at me, or give up on me”

I am close with my children and I love dem to bits. They are my friend. But I wasn’t really ready for the “breaking news” my Princess Dewy had for me.
When my child told me she is gay, a lesbian, I experienced a range of emotions, during dat phone conversation.
So many things went through my mind, one of them included self-blame (“Did I do something wrong?”) (“The child I thought I knew and loved no longer exists.”), worry (“Will my child be discriminated against?) religious confusion (“Is my child damned to spend eternity in hell?”), and stigma (“What will people think of my child? Of me?”).

However, I kept pinching myself to calm down because I didn’t want my baby to shy away from me or for us to have a strained relationship. I loved my baby far too much.
I first took a deep breath. And all I could say was, “are you sure?”
I was hoping it was a prank but it was happening in real time.
Even though I was unusually calm through that conversation, my mind was wondering in all direction.

Months before this incident, I was lending my voice in support of LGTB rights in Nigeria.
Is life playing tricks on me. Now my daughter is gay, why do I feel disappointed? Am I a hypocrite? How do I handle this bomb shell?
I have faced many challenges in my life and won, I was determined to win this too. All I want is my Princesses Love, happiness and Success in her life anything else is secondary. I told myself that I will get through this, and many months later I did.

As a matter of fact, I now look back and find that I am grateful for the experience of having a gay or lesbian child.
Nothing can come between me and any of my beautiful children. It is stupid to even think that having a gay child means that parents have failed. That’s some pedestrian thinking.
Me, I love my gay daughter oooo

I love you Dewy❤️❤️❤️😍❤️😍

“We stand by our report” – CNN reacts to FG’s threat to sanction it over Lekki shooting documentary

Cable News Network (CNN) has reacted to the threat of sanctions by the Federal Government over its investigative report on the October 20 shooting incident at the Lekki toll plaza in Lagos.

The foreign frontline media platform carried out an investigation into the incident and published its findings on Wednesday, November 18.

At a press conference in Abuja earlier today November 19, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, stated that the report by the media house was one-dimension and lacked balance. He called for the sanction of the media house.

In a statement released by one of its company spokesperson, CNN said it stands by its investigation.

“Our reporting was carefully and meticulously researched, and we stand by it. The report was based on testimony from dozens of witnesses, and photos and video obtained and geolocated by CNN. It painted a picture of how members of the Nigerian army and the police shot at the crowd, killing at least one person and wounding dozens more.

CNN verified photos and videos acquired from multiple eyewitnesses and protesters using timestamps and other data from the video files. Video footage shows soldiers who appear to be shooting in the direction of protesters. And accounts from eyewitnesses established that after the army withdrew, a second round of shooting happened later in the evening.

Prior to publishing the report, CNN tried multiple times to elicit comment from the Nigerian army and police. A Lagos State police spokesman declined to comment because of an ongoing investigation. While a statement from the Lagos State government said that there would be no comment while a judicial tribunal was underway.” CNN states

“Do as if you want to kiss, don’t Kiss Oh” — Bride denies her groom a kiss while taking photos to avoid ruining her makeup.

The video of the moment a bride refused her groom to plant a kiss on her face because she didn’t want him to ruin her makeup is currently serving rounds on social media.

Probably concerned over the exuberant price she used in having her face beat for her special day or maybe, she was still going to take more wedding photos as it seems they were just heading to church for the ceremony, the bride had to deny her husband kissing her while they posed for the camera.

In the video, she’s heard telling him to “pose as if” he’s kissing her but not actually kiss her because she doesn’t want him to ruin her makeup.

While a lot of netizens have found the moment quite hilarious and petty, others seem to take the whole thing serious as they feel the bride shouldn’t have reacted in the way she did.

Well, there’s every possibility that the groom perfectly understands his bride and why she’ll make such request on their wedding day and as can be seen, he actually adheres to her request and doesn’t kiss her.

She said she went to the hospital for a scan and it was discovered that the baby was fine, but they can’t guarantee that she would carry the pregnancy till full term because the placenta was slowly detaching from the womb.

My darling daughter is 3months today.
So grateful.
I remember thinking we lost her when I was 3months pregnant and i found myself in a pool of blood.
I just called my husband from the room and saying ‘there’s blood everywhere, the baby!’
And he said ‘what happened to the baby?’😡
And in tears I said ‘see blood everywhere, its the baby’
He said ‘that’s not my child blood. Stand up and clean yourself up. Where is your faith?! Stop talking anyhow. Dont see blood and say it’s my child. My child is fine’
We called the hospital and went there for a scan…
…And really, that’s wasn’t out Baby’s blood but my own blood🤣🤣😂😂.
That was the placenta detaching from the womb and a mass of blood being discharged following that.
Our baby was fine and strong and kicking and the doctor’s report was ‘there is a heartbeat today, but we can’t guarantee anything. There is nothing we can do. We will just watch and hope the placenta doesn’t go out completely with the baby’.
But we KNEW WHAT TO DO.
We prayed.
Oh, for this child we prayed!
Gloria Chingarum Adaeze Chinule, our living Miracle.
I’m sharing this to encourage anyone thinking you are helpless or in a bad situation, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!
