Upcoming Nigeria artiste, Olatosi Adekolu Oluwaseun popularly known as Oluwaseun Kobbe has died after a brief illness.
The promising music star died on Thursday morning, December 10 at an hospital at the Ojuore area of Ota, Ogun state.
Oluwaseun, who was in his mid-20s, will be laid to rest today, December 11.
The deceased was the younger brother to popular music promoter, Yusuf (DANKU) Adepitan. Oluwaseun featured top music artistes in Nigeria including Davido, Olamide, Terry G and Reminisce on his works.
Danku speaking about his brother’s demise said, “Oluwaseun is a great lost to my family. I am really down currently”.
Segun debuted in the Nigerian music industry with his song “olele” which he featured Olamide and “okulosun” ft Oritsefemi.
He studied International Law and Diplomacy from Babcock University.
The first Lady of Benue State, Dr Mrs Eunice Ortom, led a walk to create awareness against gender-based violence in Makurdi, Benue State.
The walk was held on Thursday, Dec 10, as part of the activities to mark the closing of this year’s 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence.
The First Lady led participants through major streets of Makurdi, the state capital and terminated the walk at Benue Hotels where a dissemination meeting was held.
Speaking at the dissemination meeting, Mrs Ortom warned that the people must not take the end of the #16daysofactivism period as the end of the fight against GBV.
She said,
“This is rather the time to build on the observations and experiences of the period in order to be more determined and committed to ending GBV in Benue State.”
The first lady’s walk comes days after her and her husband, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State reconciled a domestic abusive husband, Pius Angbo with his wife, Dr. Ifeyinwa Angbo.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested one, Williams Michael Ogwezi also known as Dr. Williams, for parading himself as a staff of the Commission to defraud his victims.
It was alleged that Williams is a member of a syndicate that specializes in forging identity cards of the Commission as well as those of other law enforcement agencies.
The suspect was arrested in Lagos, following a report received by the Commission from the Nigeria Police Area Command Ajah, Lagos.
Investigation revealed that the suspect had defrauded one of his victims, a lady, of jewelry valued at N10, 000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) before his arrest.
Williams has reportedly confessed to the crime and items recovered from him at the point of arrest include an identity card with inscription of EFCC, EFCC face masks, three laptops, three mobile phones and two vehicles (Lexus and Hyundai Genesis).
Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr Wilson Uwujaren averred that he will soon be charged to court.

Friends and family of a young man, identified as Victor Asuquo Akpan, have been thrown into mourning after he allegedly slumped and died while participating in the Nigerian Army screening exercise.
Akpan was reportedly at the Nigerian Army screening exercise in Ibawa, Akwa Ibom State when he slumped and died on Monday, December 7th.
A friend of the deceased who shared the sad story on Facebook revealed that, Akpans body was laid to rest on Thursday, December 10th.

A Federal High Court in Lagos has dismissed a “no- case application” filed by internet sensation, Ismaila Mustapha better known as Mompha.

The Minister of Defence, Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi (rtd.), has said that Nigeria is safer today than it was many years ago under the previous administration.
According to him, the Nigerian Army is one of the best in Africa and can defeat any enemy when given the right arsenals and assistance.
Magashi stated this while speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today programme, on Thursday, December 110.
He said, “In Africa, Nigerian Army should be adjudged one of the best, we have conducted so many operations outside Nigeria. We went to ECOMOG (Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group), we did the very best we can. We went to Sierra Leone, we did the very best we can and some other places. We are a force that is reckon with in Africa but because of the nature of the prolongation of this war, people are getting tired.
“They (Boko Haram terrorists) are not concentrated in one particular place, it is an operation that they hit and run, we don’t even know their bases. Now, we know that the best way to fight these people is to get enough intelligence and go out there to fight them and this is what we are doing. Every day, we are getting information and the Nigerian Army and Air Force are running them down.”
The minister also said that Boko Haram have been dislodged from Borno State but they occasionally launch fatal attacks to attract the attention of the international community and embarrass the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said, “They don’t hold any ground in Borno State. The only thing with this kind of insurgent operation is that they want to surprise you, embarrass you and do whatever they think will attract international news or commotion. That is what they have been doing and that is why we are trying very hard to adopt tactics and other forms of operations in order to stop these people embarrassing this nation.”
“At the moment, most people think because of these sporadic attacks here and there, we lost control or we are not doing our best. Most people know the problem of this country; the Armed Forces are overstretched, we are not supported by some of these countries we call our friends, they are not ready to give us what we need. But certainly, Nigeria is better of than what it was years ago”.

A 31-year-old Nigerian lady identified as Juliet Nlemadim has died a few days to her wedding in Imo State.
It was gathered that the University of Lagos graduate died on December 3, after a brief illness. She will be laid to rest in her hometown, Uborji Okuku, Owerri West on Friday, December 11,2020.
Late Juliet was set to tie the knot with Nnaemeka Abakporo on Wednesday, December 30th in Owerri.
Her friends have taken to Facebook to mourn her. Achor Goddey wrote:
“Dear juliet Nlemadim.. I hate doing this but I have no choice but to write in tears and pains..!!
You called me just last week to give me the best And long awaited news of your marriage/ wedding ceremony which comes up 26days from now (Dec 30th) we both planned happily and I promised to play a vital role towards your happy day…

Pastor Timi Adigun of MINE teenage ministry, a church focused on the sexual purity of teenagers, has been called out for allegedly sexually harassing teenage girls.
The Pastor was called out by a teens counsellor identified as Akan Imoh on Facebook. According to him, the culprit has been having carnal knowledge of ladies in his church, despite being the chief convener of “sexual purity/virginity day” in Nigeria.
Akan said when rumours of the clergyman’s sexual escapades started spreading, top leaders of the church launched an investigation into the matter and discovered that the allegations were true.
He expressed his grievance that the pastor has refused to address the allegations since it became public knowledge few months ago and has gone ahead to establish another church named “Haven of love”.

Reacting to the allegations, Mine Teenage Ministry has taken to Twitter to dissociate itself from the alleged shameful act of the pastor.
In a series of tweets, they wrote,
Based on the issue of sexual harrasment against Timi Adigun, the Coordinator of MINE Teenage Ministry, we hereby dissociate the message of the ministry from his actions
As a ministry, we stepped in to ask him to do the right thing, but our efforts were rebuffed.
Ever since the issue came up, he took over the social media accounts of the ministry, this is the only account we have access to.
We hereby announce to the general public that the message of sexual purity still stands irrespective of the action of the man that held a key position.
Following that with the talebearer sermon discouraging members from spreading tales about men of God in advance before his sexual acts with girls in the church were found out.
His defence when quizzed was that the girls also enjoyed the acts, and no one loves the girls as much as he does, going even as far as saying God will vindicate him.
When asked to take a break, he remarked that he’s been doing it for years and no one knew, so why would he stop preaching now when people still get saved despite his acts!
Together with his wife, Timilehin Adigun has instead taken to Instagram to do giveaways and creating a positive image of himself, not even a month from when the story broke out of his many excesses.

Reality TV star, Tacha has advised Nigerians to mount pressure on politicians and leaders at all levels of government to deliver on good governance.
She made the call via a video shared on her official Twitter page on December 9, 2020.
According to her, many Nigerians blame the president for all the challenge being experienced in the country, while forgetting that delivering on their mandate is the job of all leaders from the level of local government chairman to the president.
She said that Nigerians need to get informed on who their representatives in government are, from the grassroot level to up to the executive.
Tacha also made reference to the End SARS protest which took place in October, noting how it got the attention of key people in government because the youths mounted pressure on them.
The reality TV star further urged people to mount pressure on senators and house of reps members as they are all civil servants who are serving the people.
