Former Spain manager, Julen Lopetegui will pay the price for his side’s dismal start to the season, and the ex-Chelsea boss will be called upon to take over
Real Madrid will sack manager Julen Lopetegui on Monday with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte set to be named as his successor, Goal reports.
Sunday’s dismal Clasico was the final straw for Lopetegui, who watched his side be torn apart in a 5-1 defeat to Barcelona.
The defeat saw Madrid lose three straight Liga matches for the first time since 2009 and left the club in ninth place, seven points behind leaders Barcelona.
Madrid’s executives have scheduled a meeting for Monday, where they will make Lopetegui’s dismissal official. A formal announcement is set to follow.
“We have to take a decision. We can’t continue like this any longer,” a Real Madrid source told Goal.
Speaking after the Clasico, Lopetegui expressed his hope that he would be given the opportunity to guide Madrid out of a sorry slump.
He told reporters after a forgettable display in Catalunya: “I feel sad at the moment, but with full strength to remain in charge of this group.
“This is a tough blow, but I am strong enough to know everything can be turned around. There is a long way to go, and I have a lot of faith in this group of players.”
Sergio Ramos, meanwhile, claimed the Madrid players will have no input in decisions regarding Lopetegui’s future, with results set to determine the fate of the under-fire coach.
Madrid skipper Ramos claims to have no knowledge as to what calls will be made by the club’s board, telling reporters when quizzed on his manager: “We are with the coach to the death. But results determine a lot whether a coach stays.
“It is not our decision. So we will stay to the side, let the hours pass and whatever happens will happen. It’s not about the players.”
However, Lopetegui’s tenure will end barely four months after it began, with the 52-year-old taking charge in June one day after being fired by Spain on the eve of the World Cup.
The ex-Porto boss oversaw a difficult start to the season for Madrid, who have lost five matches already in 2018-19: four in La Liga and one in the Champions League at CSKA Moscow.
Conte is the man who will be expected to lead a turnaround at the Bernabeu, after the Italian left Chelsea following the 2017-18 season.
Madrid contacted Conte following Sunday’s Clasico defeat, and the 49-year-old is understood to be receptive to the idea of taking over in the Spanish capital.
Conte was also contacted in the summer, but swatted away interest at the time with his contract situation at Chelsea still not sorted.
But it appears that the Italian is ready to commit to Madrid, with Conte expected in the Spanish capital on Monday.

Some residents are accusing cows of stealing their underwear – the residents said they want herders to watch their animals carefully before they end up without any underwear.
Moditebo Thys (33), a resident of Khayelitsha kasi in Mangaung, South Africa, said when they put clothes on the washline, the cows come into their yards and steal them.
“I’ve lost four pairs of panties in two weeks,” said Moditebo.

She said she won’t put her panties on the line again until she has put up a fence.
Another resident said:
“These cows left the grass to eat our panties. “They choose the colourful ones. If your underwear is black, you will find it safe. “We urge herders to look after their cows.
“We can’t be expected to hide our underwear from the cows. One day I saw them carrying pink underwear on their horns.”

With the 2019 elections forthcoming, Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said he has fulfilled his promise of conquering terrorism and insecurity in the country.
Buhari, as a candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 campaigned on three focal points of fighting against corruption, reviving economy and security.
Some of the Nigerian communities in the northern and southern parts of the country were under siege of the deadly Boko Haram insurgents during former president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, which Buhari promised would be history if elected president.
However, over three years into his election as president, Nigeria is yet to be free from terrorism as promised by the president, as terrorist group Boko Haram has operated in the northern part of the country killing scores of Nigerians at different times.
Despite criticism from sections of the society and opposition political parties as regards the security situation and other alleged lapses in the Buhari-led government, the president said he had fulfilled his promises in the area of security and infrastructure to the citizens.
Alongside the terrorism activity which the president believes there have been gains in its fight, there have also been cases of violence and killings in Benue, Ondo and Osun states by herdsmen, Boko Haram had also attacked some communities and displaced residents since 2015.
“Insecurity, the people of the Northeast are in the best position to comment on the gains we have made in the fight against terrorism. They lost local LGAs Boko Haram, schools and roads were closed, commercial flights halted, and religious festivals observed in fear and terror,” Buhari said.
Buhari, who is vying for a return to office in 2019, also boasted on his tenure’s work in improving infrastructure in the country. He noted that the works done are a fulfilment of his campaign promises.
“We are connecting every part of Nigeria by standard-gauge rail. We‘re upgrading roads, highways, airports around the country,” Buhari said in a tweet.
“Our efforts in Power generation, transmission, distribution are yielding fruit. All of these are in fulfilment of our promise to invest in infrastructure.”
A video has been circulating online showing Shi’ite members and Nigerian Army officers clash along Zuba road in Abuja yesterday October 27th.
A statement from the Army released earlier today, said the sect members who were supposedly in a procession in the Federal Capital Territory, mounted an illegal road block during their procession thereby denying motorists free passage.
When the troops’ convoy attempted to clear the road block, they met stiff opposition from the sect. Members of the sect used various objects to barricade the road and also pelted the troops with stones and other dangerous items. They smashed both military and civilian vehicles’ windscreens and windows.
They also attempted to overrun the escorts to cart away the ammunition and missiles the troops were escorting. This led to the troops opening fire to extricate themselves.
Consequently, troops of 102 Guards Battalion in whose Area of Responsibility the incident occurred rushed to the convoy’s rescue.
Unfortunately, during the encounter 3 members of the sect were killed while 2 soldiers sustained various degrees of injuries and are being treated at a military medical facility.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, on Sunday in Abuja, jocularly said he was learning the Shaku Shaku dance steps for campaigns ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Shaku Shaku is a popular and contemporary dance style common among young Nigerians.
Osinbajo, who was the Chairman and Special Guest of Honour at the launch of Five Fascinating Books written by Funmilayo Braithwaite, in Abuja on Sunday, said a friend of his recently polled large number of votes just by dancing.
According to him, nobody knows what will work in Nigerian politics.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the books — The Path of Fate, Echoes of Yesteryears, Politicrisis, The Golden Rules and Bonds of Destiny – were unveiled at Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
The vice-president said that he believed that reading the books would provide resolutions to a lot of the questions that were raised in the lives of Nigerians and in the lives of children.
He said: “And hopefully, we will be able to find resolution to some of the questions raised in our political lives as well; I know that is one of the reason Alhaji Shittu Kabir, Chairman, Advanced Peoples Democratic Party is here.
“As matter of fact, for those of us who are politicians, when you see `Politicrisis’; especially as elections approach, you might think there is a formula somewhere.
“Kabir and I and are the opposite sides but we are here to learn; I was saying the other day that politics in Nigeria is becoming very exciting; you never know what works.
“I can never forget my dear friend in one of the states who just danced his way through the campaigns; all he did was dance; he did nothing else but dance and he won 250,000 votes.
“So myself and Kabir are now learning Shaku Shaku; we have to learn; who knows what will win.’’

Nollywood actress and film maker, Omoni Oboli and her husband Nnamdi Oboli are celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary today.
Uploading the picture above the mother of three, penned down a lovely words to her husband, saying;
18 years later, you still make me deliriously happy! I couldn’t have married a better man! The woman I am today, I owe it all to God and you! I love you endlessly. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. My hero! Happy anniversary baby! Forever beckons
Her husband Nnamdi in turn wrote;
What a ride it’s been for 18 years living with this beautiful, dutiful, and resourceful woman, wife and mother. Words fail me to express my immense gratitude to God for the life in the years we’ve lived in grace and wonder. We made our vows, and it seems like we blinked and time gained wings and we became breathless due to the rollercoaster romance. We were one from two, and from that God-given union came three more, yet we remained one at once, never to renounce.
I can’t begin to recall all the nuances that make for the beauty of what we’ve learned that holds us together and keeps it all fresh and exciting. But what I know is that I’m looking forward to many more years, God willing, of more moments together that are also nail biting.
I wish you darling the best the world could offer, but more than that, I wish you the best God has prepared. This is wishing us another happy Anniversary, and pray that this best friend of mine will continue to grow in grace doing and loving all that she ever cared.
I love you more 18 years over, and wouldn’t trade the moments that we’ve shared in light of the beauty that it’s produced. So join me in celebrating another milestone as our marriage continues in momentum, never to be reduced

The General Overseer of Living Faith Church worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo has revealed that Nigeria will divide the day it becomes an Islamic nation.
Bishop David, who spoke at a service to mark the end of the 7-day fasting and prayer his church organized, stated that Nigeria will divide the day it becomes an Islamic nation.
Bishop David Oyedepo who called on politicians to repent and have value for the lives of citizens, further added that if they do not repent after his warning, they would fall down for the sake of the nation.
“Politicians be warned, whether in power or not in power. There is no day Nigeria will become an Islamic nation and this nation will remain one nation. Allow the Christians to go to church, allow the Muslims go to their mosque and let the traditional worshippers do their thing. God is giving Nigeria peace by all means, the peace of those promoting this wickedness, God is taking away, if they refuse to repent. Their supplies shall dry up because Nigeria shall not see war.” he said
“When a caretaker starts behaving like a landlord he will be removed. God is the permanent landlord of the earth. The God of heaven has given you authority and power. He has given you might and glory. Pride makes us think that we do not need God. Pride separates us from God. Nebuchadnezzar did not give credit to God, and God had enough. God had warned Nebuchadnezzar and had been very patient with him. But finally, the prophecy came true. All of the things that he was so proud of were taken away. Nebuchadnezzar had to eat grass just like the goats and cows! He was used to living in a grand palace, but now he had no shelter over his head; For 7 years, the great King Nebuchadnezzar lived out there in the wilderness like an animal. He lost his mind; he became crazy without God, he was helpless because he refused to listen to the warning from the Lord. Politicians are not extraordinary people, they only have grace, if they don’t harken to this warning of the Lord they will suffer disgrace. Too many arrogant foes, who pose to own this nation, be warned because the day of God’s judgement is here. God enthrones kings and removes kings.”
Bishop David Oyedepo also cursed the killers of Maiwada Galadima, Agom Adara, a Kaduna traditional ruler who was kidnapped and later found dead.
“All those involved in the killing of Galadima and his aides! Their generation will be forgotten. Everyone of the perpetrators they will end up in shame,” he said.

Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo took a walk down the memory lane, revealing how he once fell ‘in love’ with a girl in his class when he was 10-years-old.
According to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, he also penned down a romantic poem to her but got caught by his mum who found it while cleaning his bag.
Read the post shared on his Facebook page below;
When I was 10 years old, there was a girl in my class who I was quite certain at the time that I could give my life. So I wrote her a lovely poem over a weekend; I wrote the poem on Friday and finished it on Saturday. And it was, if I may say so myself, a work of sheer genius. It ended with the dramatic words; “your warm embrace may be the last desire of my heart before I die!”
I tucked it in my school bag and looked forward with a heart filled with love for Monday, to present to the object of my affections.
My mum, while cleaning out the bag, found the letter, and all hell broke loose. Needless to say, she beat the poetic genius out of me that terrible afternoon.
But that’s not the end of the story. True love as you know, will survive even the worst brutality. So, I bore my injuries as a worthy suffering for my beloved. On Monday morning, I found the best opportunity to give her a freshly written version of the poem. I turned away as she took the letter, I didn’t want to behold the sheer pleasure as she read it, but as I turned around, I noticed that she had actually handed the poem over to the teacher and she was pointing at me!
While my physical bruises have healed from that experience, from as you can imagine, what happened with the teacher, my capacity for writing romantic poetry had been greatly diminished.
Fantastical Futures is the audaciously inspirational theme of this iteration of the Ake Arts & Book Festival. Why do we in today’s world, dare to hope for a future so fantastic that it is described as fantastical? The reason it is, if I may offer one, is that there is for those who have cast this great vision; Lola, her friends and collaborators, they’ve have not allowed their vision to be beclouded by the cataracts of discouragement that so easily beset us. Two of those cataracts to our vision are worthy of mention.
The first is a disdain for introspection, which has just come over time, that capacity for deep thought, and making that the basis of planning and action. It is a disdain for introspection that causes our elite to spend or embezzle all the cash and opportunities of the present and make it the burden of a leaner future to pay for our corruption and carelessness.
A failure to interrogate the past, coupled with a reluctance to explain the benefit of deferring gratification. Is the creative sometimes, unable to stick to a cause because it may no longer be popular?
Niyi Osundare, the poet I’m sure we’re all familiar with, captures this elite inability to defer gratification in the provocative poem titled “Eating Tomorrow’s Yam”.
And I quote a portion of it, he said: “There is only one left in the village barn, the prodigal calls for a knife ‘what shall we eat tomorrow’, the people ask, ‘if we finish all the yam today just how shall we feel when the dunghill has relieved stomachs of their improvident burden? And says the prodigal: ‘tomorrow will take care of itself, how can we know the next day if we die of hunger today?”
The recursive one step forward two steps backwards of our histories, especially in Africa, has caused Prof. Tanure Ojaide, and I’m sure you’re all familiar with him as well, in his angry style, to ask “What poets do our leaders read?”
Again, Tanure Ojaide in his poem, “No longer our country”, remonstrates, and I quote him; “We have lost it, a country we were born into, we can now sing dirges of the commonwealth only of yesterday. We have a country that is no longer our own.”
But even he, that is Ojaide, will agree that men and women, not spirits build societies. Which leads me to the second cataract that blurs our vision. Imagine the failure to recognize the responsibility of the individual, especially the gifted individual.
Does the artist have a responsibility to society beyond that of the ordinary citizen? Is there a civic tax payable on talent? Does the fact of your genius place upon you, a moral burden to attempt to use the powerful voice of your art to fight for the soul of the land, especially to fight for the soul of the land from whence you came?
To take moral positions, are you by virtue of your intellect and creativity a moral agent? Or are you not? Can you or not be neutral? Can you be politically neutral? Can you in the face of so much that needs to be done, poverty, deprivation, and injustice, stay politically neutral? Can Africa afford to have its best talents wearing halos of political innocence and saying “let us leave politics to the scoundrels?”
There is a growing impatience of the deprived millions of our people with the elite, which includes all of us in this room; the bombs tied to the 11-year-old body of Safiaru a malnourished girl, who has never been to school, cannot distinguish between a lawyer like Yemi Osinbajo or a writer like Molara Wood. The bomb does not discriminate!
Earlier this year, the government established the Technology and Creativity Sector Working Group: a policy committee of Federal Government Ministers and Heads of Agencies with Creatives, Tech and Entertainment business owners.
The group meets to work on policy, including rules and regulations regularly. So, we do have now, a policy group, who takes into account the sorts of views that Creatives may want especially in formulating policy and that is so for persons of technology as well. So, I think there is plenty of room for expression, especially the way we want to see policies shaped that could affect our Creatives and could affect those involved in technology.
The last thing, did you enjoy the story I told earlier? It was fiction. I wish us all a fantastical future!

Nigerian rapper, Olamide has revealed that Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale is his favourite musician in Ghana.
According to the “Motigbana” crooner, Shatta Wale’s now-fierce rival, Sarkodie is not an artist he cherishes so much but rather mentioned him as the rapper he admires.
Explaining why he got featured on Shatta Wale’s “Reign” album in an interview on Starr FM, Accra, Olamide stated that Shatta Wale sent him the song, he loved it and jumped on it – it should be noted that Olamide is the only artist featured on Shatta Wale’s album.
He further stated that he also got the love for Kuami Eugene and Rufftown Records’new signee, Wendy Shay and DopeNation; a group he’s yet to record a song with.

Nigerian controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo who recently reacted to Davido’s comment of being rusty in an interview with Saturday Beats, disclosed that she doesn’t have sex drive due to circumcision.
Olunloyo who described Davido as disrespectful, stated that her children are not moved by such and even call her social media queen.
She said;
“He insulted me with sexual references at my age; that is very disrespectful. My children are not moved at all by these things; they call me a social media queen, they love me so much and they have my back. Some of his fans troll me on social media, always threatening to beat me up but I always report their pages so that they would get suspended.
“I dated a man from Delta (State) after I came out of prison but before then, I had not dated anybody for ten years. I was not sexually active because I didn’t have any drive for sex due to the fact that I was circumcised.
“We had to go our separate ways later even though he was caring; he stood by me all through the time I was in prison. Our relationship fizzled out after I was involved in a controversy online, he could not stand my fame and all the attacks and attention I was getting; he had low self-esteem. I ended the relationship in August 2017. At 60, I will be married to a rich, caring and submissive man.”
However when asked if she had evidence to back up her claims on Davido’s infidelity in his relationship, she said she had evidence but as a journalist, it was ethical to protect her source.
“Evidence always exists but as a journalist, I have to protect my source. I am a very assertive and aggressive person, so sometimes people see me as nasty and rude; they always say I have some form of mental illness. The information I have were got from Chioma’s female pals; her friends talk to me a lot. I have evidence of everything I report,” she said.
The Presidency has on Sunday, October 28th, said it is an indication of idleness on the part of PDP and other Nigerians, to complain about Buhari not presenting his certificates to INEC.
It was earlier reported that President Buhari while submitting his presidential nomination form to INEC ahead of the February 2019 elections, presented a sworn affidavit instead of his certificates.
According to his affidavit, his credentials are still with the Nigerian Army where he was an officer until his retirement in 1985.
This has since draw widespread criticism, and in reaction, Femi Adesina who is the Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, told the Nation, that the certificate saga is a dead issue.
He said;
“The certificate saga is a dead issue, only idle people will consider it. It is something that had been laid to rest before the 2015 general elections. Those raising the issue (PDP and others) are idle and they have run out of ideas.
They see defeat staring them in the face and they are desperate to cling to any straw. This issue was resolved before the 2015 election. It is a matter of fact that when President Buhari and others joined the military, they took their original certificates from them.
The military knew where they kept the original certificates of the President. In fact, a former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Alani Akinrinade corroborated that the military collected the original certificates of all its officers. The PDP believes it is going to lose the elections, and they will lose, and it is raising dust over a dead issue.
“The military already said they lost the certificates. But does it mean that it did not exist that the President went to school, sat for examinations and passed; attended military courses and War College. It does not change the fact that the President rose through the ranks to become a Major-General in the Nigerian Army and a Military Head of State.
Didn’t those opposed to President Buhari go to court over his certificate and lost before? They will still lose this time around. It is a dead issue.”
Nigerian singer, Dammy Krane who engaged in a brawl with Nigerian top singer, Wizkid at Quilox in 2016, has disclosed that he has forgiven the FEVER crooner.
In the year, it was alleged that the fight ensued after Dammy Krane claimed that Wizkid stole the song, Baba Nla, from him after paying him a visit at home.
Speaking on reconciling with Wizkid after they were pictured together this year, Dammy Krane said;
“Wizkid and I went to an event and from there we went out together. It was from there that we became friends again. I have forgiven him because it is just one song and we would still do songs together. We would still do one or two things together but you need to understand that we are all getting to different stages of our lives.”

Home Affairs minister of South Africa, Malusi Gigaba has taken to his social media page to give a plea to the general public after a sex tape of him was released online.
According to the minister, he was legally intercepted on a particular day and that was when his device which contained an explicit video of himself and his wife, was stolen from him.
He took to his page to write,
My wife and I have learned, with regret and sadness, that a video containing material of a sexual nature, meant for our eyes only, which was stolen when my communication got illegally intercepted/my phone got hacked, in 2016/17, is circulating among certain political figures… This video has been at the centre of a number of blackmail and extortion attempts, dating back to the period immediately following my appointment as Minister of Finance, on 21 March 2017, all of which I have steadfastly refused to entertain… These blackmail/extortion attempmts as well as teh illegal interception of my communication/hacking of my phone have all been reported to the relevant law enforcement/intelligence agencies and I am advised that the resultant investigations are still continuing…
I take this opportunity to publicly apologise, in advance, to the rest of my family – especially my kids, my mom and my in-laws – and the south African public for the pain and embarrassment the likely wider distribution of this privae material will cause… I hope our nation will, someday, constructively engage with the question of whether it is correcnt to condone and promote the gross invasion of the privacy of others by distributing such material, more especially in the clear absence of a public interest justification…

Fast rising Nollywood actress, Olive Utalor adds another year, today, October 28, 2018 and she would be celebrating it like most Nollywood divas do with release of beautiful pictures.
As expected, she would be expecting gifts from friends and well wishers but, according to her, there’s a gift that would be priceless to her.
“Absolutely there’s no lady without someone special in their life and that leads me to say I truly have a boyfriend.
He is such a cool dude, very articulate and strict, handsome, benevolent with a God-fearing heart.
Sincerely, I would expect him to give me a reliable assurance on my birthday as a gift. Simply because I need a brand new exclusive car. Just for the nature of my job, mind you, it doesn’t mean I am a materialistic woman, it’s good you speak your mind always. And it would be the greatest gift I would have on my birthday.”
Olive Utalor has featured in films like Wasted Authority, Ulaku, Battle of True Love and many others.
