– Shareholders Commend FCMB’s performance in 2016; Approve Dividend

The 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of FCMB Group Plc held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Shell Hall, Muson Centre Onikan, Lagos.

Shareholders of the Group applauded the financial institution for its resilience, dynamism and the enhanced performance recorded last year despite the challenging operating environment.

The shareholders also unanimously approved the payment of a cash dividend of 10 kobo per ordinary share, which translates to N1.98 billion, for the year ended December 31, 2016.

FCMB Group is the holding company of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited, FCMB Capital Markets Limited, CSL Stockbrokers Limited and CSL Trustees Limited.

The audited accounts of the Group for last year showed a profit before tax (PBT) of N16.3 billion, an increase of 109% compared to the N7.8 billion for the same period in 2015. Profit after tax also rose to N14.3 billion as against N4.8 billion prior year. Gross revenue as at the end of December 2016 was up by 16% to N176.35 billion from N152.51 billion in the previous year.

Analysts are of the opinion that with FCMB Group Plc’s focus on effective portfolio optimisation, increased momentum in retail banking, digital channels coupled with its culture of excellence in products and service delivery, the Group and its subsidiaries are well positioned to improve on their remarkable performance and value addition to stakeholders.

The AGM had in attendance the Founder of the FCMB Group, Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun (CON), the Group Chief Executive and other Directors of the Group, senior management teams of the respective subsidiaries, as well as shareholders, representatives of regulatory bodies and the media.

On my way from picking up my son from school this afternoon 2nd may 2017 1:40pm,I saw a man Been thrown out of a speeding kekenape in Abuja.The sight was horrible,I saw this from a distance .I watched his head serve as a landing plate and I watched his lifeless body slum with no movement at all.

I was in the car with my son,I was scared,I was trembling in fear as I stopped my Car.I HAVE never been in a suitation like this before,I prayed for a sec. And heard my baby let out a scream on seeing the Horror.

I stepped out of the car,went to d middle of the road trying to stop others to help me save this young man.

I was ignored but to God be the glory a few great people stopped,He was not breathing,Not responding.Everyone thought he was dead but I TOLD them that as long as my hands have been laid on this young man in prayers he will be fine..They helped put him In my car with no one opting to follow me,Only a Good Samaritan motor mechanic stepped in to follow me..

“I don’t sleep at public functions, I only pretend” — Gov Ganduje

Kano State Governor has replied his critics who says claims he’s not working but sleeping, after he was pictured “sleeping” at public events.

He says he is not bowing to blackmailers. ‎Governor Abdullahi Ganduje stated this during an interactive session with labour unions as part of May Day celebration at the Government House, Kano.‎

He said that his political opponents could not differentiate between sleeping and pretending.‎

“My opponents always complain that I sleep at public functions but I want them to try and differentiate between the two.

‎”Political blackmail is not an issue to me because I am used to it and will continue to work for the good people of the state,” he said.‎

The governor’s critics had been accusing him of sleeping in most public functions.

‎Ganduje said the ultra modern skill acquisition centre being constructed by his administration would provide employment opportunities to teeming youths of Kano.‎

The governor said that the state government would continue the development of infrastructure across the state as part of effort to improve the welfare of the people.

Davido is currently in Atlanta while he perhaps, wait for the Birth of his second daughter with his atlanta-based girlfriend.

The singer who will soon be referred to as ‘the proud father of two’, is surely not planning to stay away while his second baby mama struggles alone to deliver their first child together. He is giving her all the support necessary.

Asides publicly acknowledging that he was responsible for Amanda’s pregnancy, he has also not stopped gushing about the unborn child since he made it known.

Recently, Davido announced that all that really matters to him was good music, his daughter and his unborn daughter due in two weeks.

His Holiness Olumba Olumba, the Spiritual leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari will not die in office as predicted by many. Vanguard Reports.

He disclosed this in Calabar when cautioning those praying and wishing Buhari dead to desist, saying God purposely chose him as president of Nigeria to wage war against corruption.

According to Olumba, Buhari’s government has succeeded in the battle to retrieve Nigeria’s stolen money; but that he must work towards peace and unity of the country.

“When we said at the onset of the administration that those who stole Nigeria’s money will return all, many did not believe us,” he said. “But the president must pray for God to lead him to apply the recovered loot to the benefit of all Nigerians. Let me repeat that Nigeria is a very well blessed country; to those wishing the president dead, he will not die,” he said.

He further called on Nigerians and investors to have faith in the country.

Lanre Gentry spoke to BON, and he claims that most men wouldn’t tolerate what his wife has done to him in the past 7 years, they’ve been married.

According to Lanre, he had shown her love and support in the last seven years despite some unbelievable things he had seen her do and endure for the sake of keeping the marriage and her image intact.

“Would she have been in my house for 7 years if I beat her? Meanwhile, Former Osun State Governor, Bisi Akande has expressed his concerns over the President’s failing health.

In a statement released yesterday, Akande said President Buhari’s absence at the wedding of Tunde Sabiu, Buhari’s adopted son and PA, over the weekend, made him weep, knowing that his ailment caused him not to attend such an important occasion.

Akande stated that last December when he saw President Buhari, he complained of his stressed look.

“The health of the leader is intricately intertwined with the health of the nation. It is more so in a delicately fragile union of nations called Nigeria. I did not see President Buhari at the wedding of his adopted son in Kaduna, last Saturday. I was sad and I wept.

When last we met at the wedding of his daughter in Abuja, last December, I complained to him that I was not happy about his stressful looks. His reply connoted some allusions to circumstances where an honest man fighting corruption is surrounded mostly by unpatriotic greedy ruling class.

He felt painfully frustrated. He assured me he would soon be going on vacation. I then knew that corruption has effectively been fighting back. And I prayed for Nigeria. That was why Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and I rushed to meet him in London in February this year when he was sick and could not return as scheduled from his vacation. The rest is history but we must appreciate that his poor health is already taking a toll on the health of Nigeria as a polity.

There are two challenges facing the country today. The first and most critical is the health of the President which, unfortunately, is a development beyond his control and for which we did not prepare. The second is the disorder and lack of cohesion between the National Assembly and the Presidency.

These are two great red flag dangers that have the potential of plunging the country into unprecedented chaos and of destabilising the gains of democracy since 1999.

The greatest danger, however, is for political interests at the corridor of power attempting to feast on the health of Mr President in a dangerous manner that may aggravate the problems between the Executive and the National Assembly without realizing if, in the end, it could drag the entire country into avoidable doom.

“As delicately fragile the Union of Nations making up Nigeria, so delicately fragile the democracy and the rule of laws governing the polity of the Union called Nigerian Federation.

Certain Nigerian leaders, having been blindfolded by corruption, assume the possibility of using money in manipulating the national security agencies to intimidate, suppress and hold down certain ethnic nationalities or playing one ethnic nationality against the other with a view to undermining the constitution and perversely upturning the rule of law.

To avoid the ugly consequences of letting President Buhari’s ailments throw Nigeria into confusion, I am urging all Nigerians to begin to pray for his divine healing and perfect recovery.

Let me warn today that those who wish to harvest political gains out of the health of the President are mistaken. This is not Nigeria of 1993. We are in a new national and global era of constitutionality and order.

We hope Nigerians have enough patience to learn from history. My greatest fear, however, is that the country should not be allowed to slide into anarchy and disorder of a monumental proportion.”he said

The actor was in tears as his beloved mother was put 6ft below the ground. His late aged mother is known as Princess Eugenia “Baby” Uzoamaka Nwachinemere Egwuh (nee ORIZU).

”Farewell as she embarks on her sojourn to the after life, where pure hearted mortals become saints,” the bereaved Nollywood actor wrote.

Prophet defends spraying church members with insecticide, says it heals them of their diseases

A prophet in South Africa has defended his bizarre action. Apparently, he was captured on camera spraying his church member with insecticide after he claimed it can heal them of their diseases.

“Some people came with injuries but we sprayed them and they were healed,” Pastor Rabalago, 24, told the Times Live website. “No one inspired me. I just believe in God for Rabalagolago.”

Even though, he has been dubbed the “Prophet of Doom” , he said he was “glorifying God” by spraying his congregation at the Mount Zion General Assembly (MZGA) church.

“Everything here on Earth belongs to God. Petrol belongs to God. Doom belongs to God,” he said.

Meanwhile, the manufactures the well-known household spray, issued a statement calling on Rabalago to halt his ritual healing, calling it “alarming and extremely concerning”.

“(We) want to make it very clear that it is unsafe to spray Doom Super Multi-Insect Killer… into people’s faces,” it said.

“The packaging has very clear instruction and health warnings for humans which must be adhered to.”

Brand Tigers added that anyone affected should wash their hands and face, avoid inhaling and seek medical attention.

However, photos from the MZGA showed several women, with their eyes tightly closed, being sprayed in the face by Rabalago.

The pastor said no one was injured, but declined to say how many devotees attend his church or how many were healed.

16 year old boy jumps off 30 storey building to his death, because his parents seized his PS4 (video)

A teenage boy jumped to his death in China after his parents grounded him, took away his Play Station 4, and computer.

According to reports, the boy has been spending too much time at internet cafes, and his gadgets, so, to curtail his excesses, his parents seized his devices and grounded him.

The 16-year-old then, quickly went to balcony on the 30th floor and jumped to his death. Voices can be heard in the background, but it isn’t clear in the video if any of the eye-witnesses tried to dissuade him.

The sad incident occurred at about 1:00 p.m. on April 29th in Lanzhou City Chengguan District Golden Capital.

Bisola Aiyeola has called out those criticizing the Big Brother Naija Show, and tagged them as “Hypocrites”. In a chat with Soudcity FM, she said:

“A lot of people are hypocrites. Even if Big Brother Naija was not on the air, It wouldn’t change the fact that people still do terrible things in the world,” she said.

“It would not change anything.

“Big Brother taught me a lot. It made me a stronger person.

“People who didn’t even watch the show had their own perception of it. You cannot please everybody because even religious shows get criticised.”

Recall, while the show was still on, many “Nigerians” called on the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to halt the show from airing as it was promoting immorality, some even had to file court cases just for the show to be put on hold.

Ghana’s very own, Yvonne Okoro has revealed the reason she has been single for more than two years now.. She claims men are scared to approach her.

“The issue is men don’t have balls to come forward to ask me out because they think I am already hooked or perhaps I am very high maintenance”.

“Also, I may still be single because most people think celebrities are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing partners but that is a very wrong perception.

“A good number of celebs are single because they are confused as to who to accept in their life. You see, you are not sure if the person is coming in because of your fame and money or the person wants to be with you because of real love” she added.

“It is not about money but if a man is not brave enough to come forward then I do not think I want to be with such a person. Anyway, who wants to be with a timid man? She queried.

Contrary to the perception people may have, she does not really have eyes for high society men. She is ready to date a man who will understand her and make her happy.

Asked if she has not come across such a man yet, Yvonne said “No I haven’t but I hope to meet him very soon”, she added.

Away from her love life, Yvonne Okoro who is planning to come out with her new TV show Cooking with….. said the movie industry is collapsing and she blames it solely on sponsorship.

“I totally agree with anyone who says the movie industry is collapsing. Truth is, it is difficult getting sponsors for a movie and that is the reason most producers especially the English movie producers are not shooting movies anymore”.

Looking into the future, Yvonne Okoro disclosed she hopes to land an action role in an action movie soon.

“I think it will be interesting to play an action role. I have never tried such roles before and I wish to take up that challenge very soon” she added.

Few days ago, TBoss revealed that Kemen has been making efforts to reach out to her since the show ended, but she has intentionally ignored him because she claims she is still angry with the way he has handled his interviews since his disqualification.

Excerpts from the interview:

On Kemen:

“I considered Kemen a friend. He was my go-to guy. He was my buddy, my muscle. He encouraged me. He motivated me. So for what happened to have happened considering all the people that look up to me, it was sad. I was angry. I was humiliated and I did feel violated but I don’t play the victim card. I honestly think that the decision that Big Brother took was the only decision that could have been taken. And everything that Kemen has to say about that, na him get him mouth, e fit use am talk wetin him wan talk but he knows and we know.”

They’ll challenge a man to a physical battle & when they lose, they play the victim cardl NO!! You are not a victim of domestic violence, YOU WENT INTO A FIGHT AND YOU GOT BEATEN!!!, P.S. I wonder where all the feminists are right now, they won’t condemn her for trying to hit a man! Imagine if Kemen said this?”
