A 17 year old and a 16 year old have reportedly died in a swimming pool belonging to a hotel in Okhoro, in the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.
The victims were identified as Isibor Ikponmwosa, 17 and Emmanuel Abuzu, 16.
Reports gathered claims that the deceased who were friends paid about N500 each to use the swimming pool before they reportedly drowned in it at about 4pm on Saturday.
Punch Reports that the hotel, Okhoro Play House, said to be popular in the area, had been under lock and key since the incident occurred.
A source who spoke to PUNCH said some workers of the hotel had also been taken to the Okhoro Police Station for interrogation.
A worker at the hotel, who did not give his name, said the matter was being investigated by the police.
He said, “The police are already handling the matter. I think you should speak with them.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Nkombe, told our correspondent on Wednesday, that he was not aware of the incident, saying he was away on an official assignment.
It was, however, learnt that the case had been transferred to the homicide department of the state police command.

Abdulkarim Njoroge, 25, has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Irene Kananu and hiding her corpse in a deep freezer in his home.
The cause for the brutal murder is quite sketchy but The Star reports that Njoroge strangled his girl in his house in Mtwapa region in Mombasa following an argument about dumping him for allegedly getting another woman pregnant.
He was later arrested on Tuesday, April 18, two weeks after the family of the deceased declared her missing on March 31.
The victim’s body was found Unclad with her head, inside the refrigerator while her legs and hips were sticking out.
The pair reportedly fought after Kananu learned that Njoroge had impregnated his secret lover who is his neighbour living in the same block of flats with him.
They frequently argued over claims of infidelity on his part and Kananu had threatened to leave him several times.
the victim’s sister, Catherine Nduta , reported her missing on April 3 at Githurai Kimbo police station, after trying to get her on phone several times to no avail.
Police opened investigations and two days later, investigators broke into Kananu’s house where they found Kananu dead.
Apart from murdering the lady, Njoroge was also said to have stolen her car and allegedly withdrew Sh40,000 from Kananu’s M-Pesa account.
A Gay wedding reportedly held in Zaria, where 53 person were arrested including young students. They were later arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court in Chediya, Zaria on Wednesday, April 19.
The wedding reportedly took place in a Zaria Motel between one Faruk and Sanusi on Saturday, April 15, where they were arrested.
They were being charged with conspiracy, unlawful assembly and belonging to a gang of unlawful offences, which contravened Sections 97, 100 and 197(a) of Criminal Procedure Code, CPC.
“On April 15, 2017 at about 2100 hours a team of policemen led by DSP Muhammad Lawal-Mashi arrested and brought to police station 53 persons.
“The arrested persons included; Jibril Abdullahi, Sagir Abubakar, Anas Mohammed, Mustapha Ababukar, Musa Ibrahim and Suleiman Usman among others, all of various addresses.”
“Information reached the police that these group of persons conspired to celebrate a gay marriage at Zaria Motel between one Faruk and Sanusi both at large,” the prosecutor said.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges, and their counsel, Yunusa Umar, asked the court to release them on bail in line with sections 35 (4) and 36 (5) of the Constitution.
Umar lamented that the accused persons were detained in police custody for more than 24 hours contrary to the provisions of the constitution.
The Chief Magistrate, Auwal Musa-Aliyu, granted bail to the accused persons in the sum of $1,200 each, with one surety each in the like sum, who must be a blood relation to the accused.
He ordered that each surety must present two passport size photographs, valid identity card, bank account number, letter of credence from a traditional ruler, a 2015 utility bill and a valid GSM numbers.
The Chief Magistrate adjoined the case until May 8, for further hearing.

An Ugandan pastor has set his path of pissing of Christians all over the world after he burnt thousands of bible in a burning fire.
Reports we gathered reveals that the pastor, who is the Head pastor of House of Prayer Ministries, Kampala, Uganda ordered his members of his congregation to gather hundreds of Bible together.
The pastor, who was identified as Aloysius Bugingo set the Holy Book on fire. Narration his reasons for his actions, Bugingo says that various versions of the Bible has have been heavily edited, and were misleading his congregation.
His actions have been heavily condemned by Christians around.. Some say he’d be visited by the unraveling wrath from God.
Bugingo’s church is attended mostly by Makerere University students in Uganda and the congregation boasts of a total number of about 6,000 people. Apart from burning the King James Version, the pastor who also owns Salt FM and TV station, set other versions including the New Testament and the Good News Bible on fire, after claiming to have omitted some verses.
Some of the lines that have been tampered with in the translations according to Pastor Bugingo, are those which talk about fasting and the Lent period. He also claimed the King James Bible version contained the word ‘Holy Ghost’ more times than it did the word ‘Holy Spirit’.

President Muhammad Buhari has ordered an investigation into the allegations of violations of law and due process made against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Mr. David Babachir Lawal in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE). A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina says the President has equally ordered a full scale investigation into the discovery of large amounts of foreign and local currencies by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a residential apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, over which the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has made a claim.
The investigation is also to enquire into the circumstances in which the NIA came into possession of the funds, how and by whose or which authority the funds were made available to the NIA, and to establish whether or not there has been a breach of the law or security procedure in obtaining custody and use of the funds.

Triple MG artiste, Tekno is ill, he has been hospitalized for over a month. He suffers from a condition called “Acid reflux”.
Acid reflux is a very common condition. It is characterized by a burning pain, known as heartburn, felt internally around the lower chest area. It is caused by stomach acid flowing back up into the food pipe.
His condition was revealed on his Instagram page, he apologized to show promoters and fans for not showing up to one concert of two. He wrote:

Recall in March, Nollywood Actress, Oge Okoye was called out for stealing photos of Kenya Moore’s dogs by one of latter’s Fan page. The actress claimed the dogs were hers and even went as far as naming the dogs Rob and Rosy.

Fatima Kabir, a 15-year-old ex-wife of the factional leader of Boko Haram, Maman Nur, said she was infected with HIV/AIDS after she was forced to have marathon sex with many sect members at the group’s Sigil Huda camp, Sambisa Forest.
Kabir and her 14-year-old accomplice, Amina Shua’ibu were arrested by officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Borno State command on Friday night. At the time of her arrest, she was also discovered to be two months pregnant for a sect member.

Kabir told The Nation in an interview in Maiduguri, Borno capital, that she was an ex-wife wife to Nur and that she was introduced to the group by her brother, Ibrahim Fadagana, in 2013.
“My brother took us from Maiduguri to Sambisa forest where he introduced us to Abubakar Shekau. Things did not go well at the camp as most of the people did not like Shekau’s brutal treatment of abductees and sect members in the camp. There was a lot of death in the camp. Children died of dehydration and malnutrition.
“So, there was a lot of disagreement between Shekau and Mamman Nur and Nur refused to accept Shekau’s policies. So they broke up. My brother (Fadagana) was a close friend to Mamman Nur, so he stood as my father and got me married to him (Mamman Nur). I was married to him in 2013. I was 12 years old at the period,” she said.
Kabir lamented her experience as Mamman Nur’s wife: “On the wedding night, Mamman Nur forced himself into me and destroyed my vagina. He infected me with Vesico V*ginal Fistulae (VVF). I was sick for a while, but I became better.
“In that same year, 2013, he left me to participate in an arms and military training program in Libya. I couldn’t wait for him, so I immediately got married to Habib, a member from Bauchi State.
“Habib later ran away because he was marked for execution. He was suspected to be an informant for the Nigerian government. So he deserted me and absconded from the camp.
“I later got married again to one Ali Bama. He was not a Commanding Officer. He was just an ordinary member like the others. Until her arrest in Maiduguri, Bama took good care of her. “He has protected me and provided food for me at our Sagil Huda camp in Sambisa Forest. I am presently carrying his two months pregnancy,” she revealed.

Life in Sagil Huda was very difficult “especially for us (women),” stressed Kabir. “The men always sleep in the afternoon and do marathon sex with all the girls for the whole night. Only those that are married are safe.
“At a point I became sick, so a French doctor came to check on me. He gave me some drugs and said I must be taking it from time to time.
“I learnt that I was infected with HIV/AIDS. I don’t know if I got it from the marathon s*x or from the three husbands I married.
My Kabir said she fled Sagil Huda in the wake of the Nigerian Military Joint Task Force (JTF)’s military assault on their base in Sambisa Forest.
“We ran away from Sagil Huda because the army came and stormed our camp and killed many of our members. Right now, my mission is to go and meet my brother Fadagana, he is at Kangarwa with Mamman Nur. I have Mamman Nur’s phone number, I have been communicating with him. My plan is to go and meet him,” she said.
Kabir and Shu’aibu were arrested at the motor park in Maiduguri after Shu’aibu’s husband abandoned them there on the pretext of getting an accommodation for them in the state capital.
Ibrahim Abdullahi, the NSCDC Commandant, Borno State Command, stated that Kabir’s case is a clear indication that HIV/AIDS has hit Boko Haram’s camp. He bemoaned Kabir’s predicament, stressing that she was very hostile at her arrest. She reportedly called NSCDC operatives at the state command “infidels waiting to die and go to hell.”
“She will be handed over to the military for proper investigation,” he said.
Dangote Flour Mills has left the noodles business after they sold their assets to Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie noodles, saying it no longer consider it as strategic.
In an announcement on Tuesday, by the company, they said in order to smoothen the transition, it had offered Dufil the use of some of its facilities on an interim basis.
The noodles business was part of the DFM, which the Dangote Group recently reacquired from Tiger Brands.
The Group Managing Director, Dangote Flour Mills, Thabo Mabo, said the divestment was part of strategies of focusing on core areas of flour and pasta production, where the company has substantial market share.
He said that with the divestment, Dangote Flour would now focus on its strengths in flour and pasta and become more profitable by improving in areas of quality, distribution and marketing.
The transaction, which became effective last Monday, according to him, is a win-win situation for Dangote Flour Mills, Dufil Prima Foods and workers of Dangote Noodles, as Dangote Flour stands to have more market presence through robust marketing.
Mabo described the sale and transfer of assets as one of the most perfect divestments, with Dufil Prima Foods taking possession and kicking off production immediately.
Under the terms of the sales agreement, Dufil Prima Foods, according to him, will continue to produce and sell noodles under the brand name, ‘Dangote Noodles’ for two years before changing the brand name.
The Chief Executive Officer, Dufil Prima Foods, Deepak Singhal, confirmed the deal and described the acquisition of Dangote Noodles as strategic as Dufil continued to seek more dominance of the noodles market.
Acquiring Dangote Noodles, he said, would help Dufil deepen and sustain its market share as well as gain a strategic advantage in terms of several range of noodles products on its stable.
He restated that Dufil was not shutting down the noodles production line but was commencing production with the brand name of Dangote Noodles immediately.
To ensure seamless transition and commencement of production, Singhal stated that most of the former staff members of Dangote Noodles would be employed by Dufil Prima Foods.
With the new development, some former employees of Dangote noodles would transit to Dufil Prima Foods, while the rest redundant workers had been adequately compensated with mouth-watering severance package for their services to the company over the years.
Singhal added that the terms of the severance package were agreed with the relevant trade unions and the affected workers were paid off immediately to enable those retained by the new owners to start on a fresh contract, while those who would not be retained would not have to wait for their benefits.
