Daily Trust Reports that A 17-year-old girl names Chidinma Ugwu, has been apprehended bu the Police in Kubwa, a Satellite town in Abuja, for allegedly dumping a day-old baby girl she gave birth to at a refuse site at Phase 2, Site 2, in Abuja.
Reports have it that Ugwu was brought from her home town in from Enugu State to work as a housemaid for a family, was able to hide the pregnancy till she put to bed all by herself and to dispose of the baby, had wrapped it inside a nylon bag and carefully lowered it behind their compound through the wall on to the refuse site.
A neighbour who spoke to newsmen, said when people noticed her protruding stomach after some months and asked her about it, she said having big tummies was hereditary in her family.
âSome of the neighbours even advised her to engage in physical fitness exercises in order to trim down the protruded tommy,â the neighbour said.
On the day she put to bed, it was gathered that when she went into labour, she quickly sent the children of her madam away, locked herself up in the room, and delivered the baby all by herself.
She then cut off the placenta, flushed it in the toilet and cleaned herself up and the entire room.
According to the neighbour, her madam came back later and noticed that her protruding tummy had gone down considerably and that she was still going about her household chores.
But Ugwu’s secret was revealed when the new born baby was later discovered by a neighbour who raised an alarm and the police were alerted. The residents of the area put two and two together and told the police to question the girl and she confessed that she was the one that dumped the baby.
The baby was handed over to Ugwu’s mistress while she was arrested.
The Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nurudeen Sabo, confirmed the incident and said that investigation is ongoing.
The same incident of child abandonment occurred on August 28, when a one day old baby was found abandoned in a bush in Barwa village along Airport Road in Abuja.
Also in the month of July, residents of Akala Street in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, were thrown into a state of shock and surprise when they woke up to discover the decomposing body of a new born baby which had been dumped in a gutter in the area.
Starboy, Wizkid has once again postponed his third studio album from September 2015 to 2016.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has Declared Thursday, September 24th and Friday September 25th as Publich Holidays to mark this year’s Id-El-Kabir Celebration.

Followers and loyalties of Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki have reportedly engaged in vigil and fasting following reporst of warrant for his arrest. Punch reports.
One of the conveners of the prayers, Mr. Kayode Yusuf, who is popularly called âMaja,â in an interview with Punch in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Saturday, said prayer sessions were being held all over the state, especially in the Ilorin metropolis.
He said he had mobilised over 500 Muslim clerics while about 1,000, including the Chief Iman of Ilorin, Mohammad Solihu were praying in different areas in the state for Sarakiâs victory.
Yusuf, who is the convener of âMaja Elders Forumâ, called on President Buhari to intervene and prevent the polity from being over-heated. He expressed the hope that Sarakiâs travail would soon be over.

Yusuf said:
âWe in Kwara are powerless. The only thing we can do is to support him (Saraki) with prayers. We have no money, soldiers, police or any other security apparatus. We are just ordinary citizens of Kwara and Nigeria. But we in Kwara, especially in Ilorin, believe in the power of prayers.
âAll of us in Ilorin, including the Chief Imam of Ilorin, are involved in the prayers. Saraki is our leader. He must not come down. Within the short time that he was elevated as the Senate President, we know what we have benefited from him.
âI have mobilised more than 500 Imans and over 1,000 others are praying in different areas. They have been praying and fasting. Even the women are praying for him. Saraki is our benefactor. Even the uneducated do not want anything to happen to Bukola Saraki. They are not sleeping but are also praying. The prayers will last till Sarakiâs ordeal is over.â

âThese people see strange things and they can tell you with their magic and charms, what the outcome of a match will be. People believe and use it. It works for those who believe in it. I saw it, I experienced it, I was with players that used it and I used it. So, why are people denying it? There are charms and rituals in football. It still exists,â he revealed.
Explaining his meeting with God and quitting occultism after meeting a female pastor, Patience Ikemefuna, Taribo said,
âGod used her to change my life and ever since, my life has never been the same. Iâm grateful to her.
âWhen I had an encounter with God and I became born again, I discovered that these powers were powerless. It was an avenue to collect money from us. There are lots of voodoo practices in football. If you are not with God, you have to be with the devil; with the devil they come with everything,â he reeled.

Speaking recently to Punch, The Local Rapper explained that the bank does not in any way affect his career. He also suggested that the NBC should hire people who understand the Industry.

“I think NBC should try to hire people that understand the industry because abroad, they also have these laws but once the radio version is clean, they do not disturb the artistes.
They should create a screening board that would check our works and inform us of the ones they feel are not for public consumption.
“It is not fair that they make us go through the process of creating a hit song, and shooting the video with millions and they later tell us the song is banned.
What have they been doing since? They should consider us too because we spend a lot of money putting these works together.
