The Nigerian senate are set to screen former Governor of rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, by tomorrow, Wednesday, 21st of October, 2015.
They had only three ministerial nominees screened today so as for the screening to be more diligent.

A 20-year-old youth has been apprehended and charged before the Magistrates’ court sitting in Ejigbo for inflicting injury on his father with a machete in Lagos State.
Toluwani Oluwarotimi allegedly attacked his father, Elijah with a machete and inflicted injuries on his head and other parts of his body before the intervention of their neighbours who rescued him.
According to PM News, the incident happened at their house located at 4, Jesus is the Head Street, Ijegun, on the outskirts of Lagos.
The matter was reported to the police at Isheri Oshun Division and when the police attempted to arrest Toluwani, he resisted and attempted to attack the officers before he was over powered.
Elijah said Toluwani has been a thorn in the flesh of the family and they have done their best to change him to no avail.
He said Toluwani started smoking hard drugs at a tender age and whenever he was high, he will descend either on him or his wife, Monica and any of their three children with weapons with the aim to kill.
He said he has spent huge sums of money to get admission for him both within and outside Nigeria and at the end of their effort, he would frustrate it.
Elijah said Toluwani refused to go to school or learn any other trade but decided to wage war against their family.
He said his character changed to worse of recently when he declared that he would kill everybody in the family and he would start from him, which he had already attempted to accomplish.
Elijah said he has decided to hand him over to the police for peace to return in his family and possible rehabitation in the prsion.
On his part, Toluwani admitted that he smokes and denied that he attacked his father. He said he has issues with his father because he does not care about his welfare rather he was concerned about other children who are in various schools.
Toluwani was arraigned before the court where he pleaded not guilty.The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.A. Fashola granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail. The matter was adjourned till 11, November, 2015.
Alhaji Shamsideen Adebimpe has been taken aback after his 44-year-old pregnant wife, Mrs Hajia Abibah Anike Adebimpe, dumped him and flew with her lover and their only daughter to the United States of America.
According to her husband, she changed her identity and obtained travel documents and traveled abroad with his daughter without his knowledge, PM News reports.
The woman reportedly packed all her properties when Adebimpe was not at home at their Adebimpe Avenue home, Council bus stop, Idimu and left.
She later informed him that she had quit the marriage and had joined her lover in U.S., adding that she never loved him in the first place despite the fact they lived together for several years as husband and wife.
Adebimpe said she informed him that he should forget the pregnancy and their daughter as she has given it to her lover who has equally accepted to foster both the baby and pregnancy.
An embittered Adebimpe said when he married Abibah in 2008 according to native law and customs and performed their Muslim rites the same year, he did not know she had another man outside her matrimonial home.
He said she got pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl named Nimotalai Adunni in August 2013 after she registered and attended ante-natal care at Igando General Hospital.
She was later delivered of the baby at a private hospital.
He said with the latest development, he was at a loss over the paternity of the baby and pregnancy. Jolted by her wife’s action, Adebimpe wrote a petition to the Nigerian Immigration Service and American Embassy in Nigeria, seeking for their intervention to bring back her daughter from the United States.
In the petition dated 13 October, 2015, titled ‘A Case of Eloping, Abduction and Child Trafficking’, Adebimpe alleged that Abibah deceived him into marriage without knowing that she had unholy and devilish mission and tried several times to dupe and swindle him to no avail.
“It is very obvious that she had not only deceived the US Embassy in Nigeria but also the Nigerian Immigration Service in order to obtain various travel documents for herself and daughter with another identity,” he stated.

According to Daily News, 33 year old Sona Avedian, was assigned male at birth and lived as a burly lad called Matthew until her transition three years ago.Sona says she knew she was a girl from the age of four, but growing up in a conservative family it was a secret she expected to take to her grave.
In November 2012 Sona finally came out as transgender and began taking hormone therapy.

Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, Professor Rahmon Bello has said that adequate compensation must be made by the Eko Electricity Distribution Plc, EKEDP to the family of late Miss Oluchi Anekwe.
Bello who spoke during a press briefing at the institution’s conference centre said:
“The Federal Government panel findings has established that the faulty cable which caused Oluchi’s death belong to EKEDP and they must pay compensation to the family of the deceased.‘’EKEDP has put in place an Assurance Policy by an Insurance company whereby a compensation will be paid to family of a deceased in case of lost of life. The Insurance company has been contacted to come and assess the damage and give their recommendations for compensation. As soon as this is done, we will know the amount.”
Contrary to reports that late Oluchi was not professionally handled when she arrived at the Medical Centre, Bello disclosed that the University panel has established that both the nurse and doctor on duty confirmed she had no pulse on arrival and she was brought in dead to the Medical Centre.
He said:
‘’In accordance with standard practice, while her body was deposited at the mortuary, an autopsy was conducted and the pathologist came to the conclusion that her death occurred within seconds to few minutes of contact with the 11KV electric cable.’’

More details emerged yesterday on how a Professor of Agricultural Economics and Extension at the Ambrose Alli University (AAU) at Ekpoma, Edo State, Prof. Paul Erie, was killed by his abductors.
The late expert was reported to have suffocated to death when his abductors tied his nose to prevent him from making noise. The police said the suspected mastermind of Prof. Erie’s abduction is one of his in-laws, Lucky Ameyi (aka Nigga).
It was learnt that Ameyi and his six-man gang abducted Prof. Erie on June 16. After a three-month search, the police were said to have got information on the suspected abductors, following the release of three Chinese.

The decomposing body of Prof. Erie was exhumed on October 1 and the mastermind was reportedly arrested in Lagos State.
Ameyi told reporters yesterday that he would have released Prof. Erie, if he knew they were in-laws. The suspected gang leader said he had participated in several kidnappings.
Those paraded included a “notorious” kidnap leader, Charles Ohwofase, who has been implicated in several abduction cases, and 20 teenagers, who were caught during initiated into a suspected cult group, the Osundu Confraternity.
Items the police recovered from the suspects included two AK-47 rifles, one revolver pistol, two pump action gun, 14 locally-made guns, 150 rounds of 7.62mm, 130 live cartridges, 20 KVA generating sets, one 100KVA generating set; N149,000 cash and six vehicles.

On Monday, 19th of October, 2015, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Monday disclosed that it had apprehended a 70 year old fake Presidential Adviser on Defence Matters.
Revealing the suspect, Aamule Sule who claimed to be a retired Army Colonel, to the media, the command’s Spokesman, ASP Anjuguri Manzah, said the suspect was arrested on October 18 at a house in Maitama area of Abuja where he claimed to have met a former governor.
“Police operatives attached to Maitama Division acting on a tip-off arrested one fake Colonel (name withheld) who claimed to be the Special Adviser to the President on Defence Matters“He also confessed that he only hides under that guise to solicit for juicy contracts or financial favour from his high profile victims,” he said.
He said that one fake identification card and five complimentary cards were recovered from him. The suspect, who said he worked with the Bauchi State Government up to 1990, said he had been in the business for over three years.
“I thought it was an easy way to feed my family,” he said.

South African paralympian, Oscar Pistorius has reportedly been freed from prison after serving just 12 months of a five-year sentence for killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
The 28 year old sportsman, as at the time of this post is now at his uncle’s mansion where he will see out the rest of the term under house arrest.
According to reports, he will be required to meet Steenkamp’s parents Barry and June “if and when they agree to meet him”, said correctional services minister Michael Masutha.
Mr and Mrs Steenjamp had appealed against the double-amputee’s early release under correctional supervision but did not make further representations to the parole board that authorised his release last week.
His lawyer Brian Webber confirmed the release and said: “He is at home already.”
Daniel Makanjuola, a 26-year-old banker has been nabbed for allegedly using a cloned West African Senior School Certificate, WASCE, and Lagos State University’s statement of result to secure employment at the Wema Bank Plc, Marina branch, on the Lagos Island.
The police revealed Makanjuola had paraded himself as a degree holder in marketing with Second Class, Upper Division, before his arrest.
He was also said to have tendered a forged National Youth Service Corps discharge certificate and a reference letter to the bank. He claimed to have obtained the letter from United Bank for Africa, his purported former workplace.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspect, who hails from Ijero Local Government Area in Ekiti State, had joined the bank in 2013, before he was sacked in July 2015 after the documents were confirmed to be fake.
It was gathered that the fraudulent act was discovered after the management sent a letter to the UBA to verify the genuineness of the reference letter. The UBA was said to have denied knowledge of Makanjuola and the letter.
Punch later learnt that the discovery prompted the bank to write West African Examinations Council and LASU, which also disclaimed the results. The suspect was arrested after the case was reported at the Lion Building Police Station.
The bank’s Public Relations Officer, Emela Esohe, said Makanjuola owned up to the act before a disciplinary committee. The suspect, in a statement he made to the police, also confessed to the crime and explained how he obtained the forged certificates.
He said he resorted to the act to alleviate the poverty in his family, adding that it was one Vincent who helped him to get the reference letter.
He said:
“I am actually a National Diploma holder. I secured the fake WASCE and LASU results, using a search engine and CorelDraw application. I scanned an NYSC certificate and used some applications to edit it. I did it in order to put an end to the suffering of my poor family. I am the only son of my father. I want the authority to be compassionate with my case. I was only trying to live a better life. ”
A police prosecutor, Inspector I. Okeke, arraigned Makanjuola at a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court on three counts of forgery.
A bride from California has distributed her wedding reception with dozens of homeless people after her fiance called off their nuptials at the last minute.
27 year-old Quinn and her family, from Sacramento in the United States, were shocked when her husband-to-be decided not to go through with the event, but quickly saw the opportunity to give back to the community.
Deposits for the $35,000 wedding were already paid and more bills were coming due. The bride’s mother Kari Duane told KCRA News:
“When I found out on Monday that the wedding would not be taking place, it just seemed like, of course, this would be something that we would do to give back,”
Duane found herself in a banquet hall at Sacramento’s Citizen Hotel filled with the city’s homeless on Saturday.
“When you’re going through a hard time and a struggle for you to get out to do something different and with your family, it was really a blessing,” Abdullah said.
His wife, Erika Craycraft, had the Duane family top of mind. Their charity means the world to her, she said:

Updates on the story of a man who died after he continuously bit a passenger on board Aer Lingus Flight have emerged.
It’s being revealed newly that a number of ‘packages’ have been recovered from the man’s body. The Mirror discloses an autopsy on the 24-year-old Brazilian’s body has been completed and the packages were sent for forensic analysis.
The man had to be restrained after it was claimed he became ‘extremely violent’, before he fell unconscious and died.
John Leonard who was traveling on flight EI-485 from Lisbon to Dublin on Sunday when the Brazilian man took ill and allegedly bit another passenger said:

“He was actually on the ground shaking violently. The noise he was making was like something I have never heard before. It’s not something you’d hear everyday. It was like deep anguish is the best way I could describe it, very, very troubled. Not screaming in a sense, you know if you’d hurt yourself or something, just very guttural, from deep within him.”
Mr Leonard added that it was a “very violent end”.
He said:
“To die that way in the back of an aeroplane, it’s not right.”It was not very pleasant at all.”
