Vice-President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo has taken to social media to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari on his birthday.

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria turned 80 today, December 17.

VP Osibajo took to his official Instagram page to pen a note from himself and his wife to wish the President peace and good health.

He wrote;

“Happy 80th Birthday, Mr. President @muhammadubuhari
Your extraordinary life of unblemished service to the nation in the army, as a Governor, Minister, Military Head of State and as a two-term Civilian President demonstrates that it is possible to serve the nation and our people honestly, forthrightly and selflessly.

In other news, Queen Tobi Phillips, the third wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has stated that domestic violence is her deal-breaker in a relationship.

Speaking in a recent interview on TVC, the former World Miss University Africa (WMUA) maintained that she would not tolerate any form of abuse and would leave a marriage if her husband ever raised his hand at her.

She reiterated, however, that the Ooni is not someone who would abuse a woman since he is calm, mature, and understands the importance of communication in marriage.

Big brother Naija winner, Phyna has lampooned Roosevelt, the brother of her colleague, Daniella, for claiming she had a toxic fanbase.

Roosevelt had taken to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to air his opinion about the fans of the 2022 BBNaija winner.

Nigerian singer, Raoul John Njeg-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has buried his mother.

The singer’s mum was finally buried on Friday, December 16, and Skales shared photos from the ceremony on his official Instagram page.

Skales was seen with family members who had also come out to say their final goodbyes to their loved one.

He wrote;

Nigerian singer, Teni, has advised ladies to take extra caution to stay safe during this festive period.

The singer took to her Twitter account to warn ladies to always move with friends and carry tasers to protect themselves from attacks.

According to her, it was sad that women had to live with many restrictions but it was better to be safe than sorry.

She tweeted;

“Ladies, hold your tasers this December, move in packs, it’s sad and I’m sorry this is the reality of most women in this part of the world. If a Niggaaa move mad, let you be the last one he tries it with. Y’all be safe.”

Popular Nollywood actor, Kunle Remi, has taken to his social media page to reveal that he almost committed suicide back in 2017.

The actor shared his past struggles while reacting to news of the death of American dancer and DJ, Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who committed suicide on Wednesday, December 14.

Kunle, in a video shared on his Instagram page, said he came very close to ending it all in 2017 due to depression.

According to the 34-year-old actor, he was overwhelmed with thoughts about his life, career, and relationship, and felt like he was useless and valueless.

He said it took the grace of God for him not to take his own life, and encouraged other people who are depressed to speak up, instead of bottling up their emotions.

In his words:

“Yesterday the news broke of DJ Twitch’s passing by suicide and it was a very sad news but I can absolutely relate to that.

“It’s never really fine as we say even though we always act like it’s fine. We go through a lot as men.

“I remember in 2017 I had a series of tweet that I went on to delete. It was very suicidal. Someone called me a year later and said I should go delete those tweets, I was going through a lot.

“I was overwhelmed, I was thinking too much of my career, am I doing enough? am I enough? am I with the right person? so many thoughts in my mind.

“At a point I could not take it, I felt so useless, not enough, incompetent, even though it was the contrary of what I felt, I was beating myself too much, then I started to tweet randomly and I was very close to jumping off the bridge or just taking my life. It took the grace of God for me to scale through that.

“I usually bottle up, I don’t share stuff but I learnt to become better doing that. And I just want to share a word with every man out there.

“Look it’s not easy and it’s not going to be easy, but talk to someone. Always have someone in your corner that you can talk too and open up with.

“Life is beautiful but it doesn’t guarantee that it will be smooth all the time but we need to always find a balance and choose happiness over being sad. I’ve been there, I’ve gone through it.

“Right now I still caution myself, I take life one day at a time, once I get overwhelmed I shut down. Depression, mental health are very important. We can do better. Just thought to share.”

Taking to her Instagram page on Friday, December 16, the thespian said she is suffering from Urticaria, and it has affected her physically, mentally and psychologically.

The mother of two described the ailment as one of the worst things she has been through in her life,.

Sharing a video of herself in the gym, Uche said she stopped exercising in 2021 due to the severe reactions she used to suffer afterwards, but she has decided to resume again so she can achieve her body goals.

The actress wrote,

Family members of Ghanaian business mogul, Asoma Banda, clash over his wealth as he battles for life in hospital (video)

A video showing the moment family members of Ghanaian business magnate, Asoma Banda, were fighting over his wealth as he battled for his life at the hospital is currently making rounds online.

Ghanaian media reports that the family members of the businessman accused his second wife of denying them access to him.

Out of anger, his first wife and her children stormed the 37 Military hospital where he is receiving medical care to forcefully discharge him from the facility, but they were not allowed.

In the trending clip, family members of the businessman were seen exchanging words in his hospital room while Asoma Banda, who is currently bedridden and immobile, was fighting for his life on his sickbed.

The first wife was heard demanding for money while stating that she has been legally married to the ailing businessman for 48 years so she has right to his money.

One of the sons of the business magnate also showed the frail hands of his father and claimed that one of his sons has been signing his documents and cheques, claiming that their sick father is the one signing the cheques when he’s visibly incapable of doing that.

Asoma Banda is reportedly the first man to own a ship and an airplane in Ghana.

“My life is a living testimony” – Man writes as he escapes death in terrible accident along Enugu road

A young Nigerian man, identified as Roland Moses, escaped death by the whiskers in a ghastly motor accident that occurred along Enugu Road.

The incident happened along the Enugu Road on Thursday, December 15, 2022.

The young man, who is grateful to be alive, took to his Facebook page on Friday, December 16, to thank God for sparing his life.

He shared photos of the mangled bus and wrote, “Where would I have been if it was not for his grace?” My life is a living testimony. God saved me from a terrible accident yesterday along the Enugu Road. “I haven’t given him any gold or silver, but I thank you, Jesus.”

In related news, the driver of an Acura Sport Utility Vehicle, or SUV, is lucky to be alive after a tree fell on the vehicle while in transit in Calabar, Cross River state.

The incident happened along the Murtala Mohammed Highway on Wednesday morning, September 28, 2022.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver managed to escape with no injury, but the car was badly damaged.

A while ago, popular gospel singer, Dunsin Oyekan miraculously survived a fatal car accident along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway.

The ‘Fragrance to Fire’ singer was on his way to minister at a church in Ibadan when his vehicle – a Toyota Prado Jeep – collided with a tailer truck in the Ishara area.

Fortunately, all occupants of the vehicle survived the tragic accident. Photos from the accident scene has been shared online and the vehicle was mangled and badly damaged.

Interestingly, Dunsin Oyekan still ministered at the program he was going for in Ibadan and he shared his testimony to the congregants.

It has been revealed that American dancer and disc jockey, Stephen “TWitch” Boss, left a suicide note before he ended his life on Tuesday, December 13.

It was earlier reported that Stephen, who is said to have a lively and jovial personality, committed suicide on Tuesday, December 13.

His wife, Allison Holker, reported to the LAPD station on Tuesday that he had left the house without his car, which was very unlikely of him. Authorities then received a call from an L.A. hotel, where he was found. He had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He reportedly shot himself dead in his hotel room, and his corpse was found in the bathroom by a cleaner after he missed his checkout time.

In an updated development, the 40-year-old left a suicide note highlighting the challenges he faced in the past. TMZ reports, citing law enforcement sources.

“It was an ambiguous reference to his past challenges. It’s unclear exactly what he was referring to in the note,” TMZ added.

Speaking on her husband’s death, Allison said, ‘

“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans. To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory.”

Nigerian singer and music executive, Davido has reacted after his former signee, Yonda, apologised for betraying him.

You will recall that in 2021, Yonda, who was formally signed to Davido’s record label, Davido Music Worldwide, a.k.a. DMW, announced his exit from the label.

At the time, he accused the DMW boss of violating him and said he decided to leave because things were not working for him there.

In another interview, he claimed that his song was the cause of the beef between his ex-label boss, Davido, and Burna Boy. Read here.

He, however, recently made a U-turn and apologised to Davido for betraying him.

He posted a screenshot of the apology message he sent to Davido on his Instagram page and pleaded for his forgiveness.

In the chat, Yonda asked the DMW boss to temper justice with mercy and not leave him hanging because he has been blacklisted from the industry.

“Baddest, don’t leave me hanging. Please, let me rise again,” he wrote in part.

Reacting, the 30BG boss, who has been severally hailed by fans and colleagues for his good heart, said he misses Yonda and was greatly hurt by his actions.

Four in critical condition following a stampede at Asake’s London concert after people tried to enter without tickets (videos)

Asake’s London concert had to be cancelled last night after a stampede that occurred after people tried to force their way into the venue without tickets.

The popular singer, who is currently on his UK music tour, was set to perform before thousands of his fans at the O2 Academy Brixton in London when the chaotic incident took place.

The police confirmed that four people have been hospitalized and are in critical condition due to the crush, while several others suffered varying degrees of injuries.

According to a statement released by Lambeth Police, they were called to the scene around 9:35pm on Thursday night, December 15, and discovered that a large number of people were trying to gain entry into the venue.

They further stated that they have commenced investigation into the tragic incident, and will leave no stone unturn to uncover what truly transpired.

The police statement reads;

Detectives are investigating the circumstances which led to four people sustaining critical injuries in Brixton.

Police were called at 21:35hrs on Thursday, 15 December to the O2 Academy on Stockwell Road, SW9 following reports that a large number of people were attempting to force entry to the venue.

“Officers, London Ambulance Service (LAS) and London Fire Brigade attended and found a number of people with injuries believed to have been caused by crushing.

“Eight people were taken by ambulance to hospital, four of whom remain in a critical condition. LAS treated two other less seriously injured people at the scene.

“An urgent investigation is under way led by detectives from Specialist Crime. Cordons remain in place at the location as officers continue work at the scene. Nobody has been arrested.”

The Metropolitan (MET) Police Gold Commander, Ade Adelekan, who also confirmed the incident, said,

“This is an extremely upsetting incident which has left four people critically ill in hospital. My thoughts and prayers are with them and their families.

“A police investigation has been launched, and it will be as thorough and as forensic as necessary to establish exactly what happened last night. The scene will be examined by specialist officers, CCTV will be viewed, every witness that we can make contact with will be spoken to and all other lines of enquiry will be followed.

“Officers are remaining in the area to provide reassurance to the local community in and around Brixton. If you have any information or concerns, please speak with them.

“I am aware of video being shared on social media. I would ask people to be sensible about what they share, and not to post material that will be upsetting to those affected by this incident. Where force has been used by police officers, those officers know they have to be accountable for their actions. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards will view all material, including Body Worn Video footage from the officers at the scene. In relation to a clip being widely shared, I can confirm that no police dogs were deployed to the location.”

Nigerian singer, Yonda has taken to his Instagram page to publicly apologize to his former boss, Davido, two years after he left his record label.

Yonda, who was previously signed to Davido Music Worldwide a.k.a DMW, had in an interview in January 2021 claimed he was “violated” by the label.

He further announced that he was leaving the record label because things were not working for him there.

In a new development, Yonda has made a U-turn on his earlier statement as he has gone online to beg Davido to take him back.

He posted a screenshot of the apology message he sent to Davido on his Instagram page, and pleaded for his forgiveness, claiming that he has been “blacklisted” in the music industry.

Yonda, who was featured in Davido’s 2019 album “A Good Time”, appealed to the superstar singer to forgive him like the prodigal son, and he doesn’t mind becoming his “slave” again

Popular singer, Sina Rambo’s estranged wife, Korth, says she has been subjected to death threats since she called out her husband for alleged domestic violence.

Recall that Korth, who tied the knot with the singer in October 2021, went online on Monday, December 12, to accuse her husband of being violent, and attempting to sleep with their maid.

She also claimed Sina Rambo, who is the son of the incumbent governor of Osun state, is financially incapacitated that she has to support him with cash occasionally. She also posted a screenshot of the payment she made to his account as proof that he is broke.

However, Sina Rambo has since come out to debunk claims that he physically assaulted his wife, via a statement released by his legal representative.

Following the messy drama, Korth has taken to social media to reveal that she has been receiving death threats for calling out her husband.

As a protective measure, Korth announced that she’s a German citizen and if anything happens to her or her child, the German embassy will take over the case.

She wrote, alongside screenshots of some vile messages she received from a troll,

“I have been getting a lot of threat messages. Death threats and all.
I will like to use this medium to say that I am a GERMAN citizen by BIRTH and nationality and so are my KIDS if anything happens to me or any of my family member.

You will have the German embassy to contend with. Aletter has been sent to the embassy for notification already! Love and light ? Iwill start posting publicly any threats because this has to STOP!!”

Enugu couple sentenced to 13 years in prison for using hot iron on 10-year-old maid, drilling nail into her head and inserting pepper in her private part

A High Court sitting in Enugu state have sentenced a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Jude Ozuogu, and his wife, Ifeoma, to 13-years imprisonment for child abuse.

The couple were arrested by the state police command in July 2020 for physically assaulting and maltreating their 10-year-old househelp, Nneoma Nnadi, at their home in Aku in the Igbo-Etiti Local government area of the state.

Neighbors who lodged complaint against the couple alleged that they subjected the victim to serious torture because she allegedly made their baby fall to the ground.

Nnandi was said to have carried her madam’s child to pet her to sleep around midnight, when the baby mistakenly dropped to the ground.

Though the baby didn’t suffer any physical or internal injury, the couple allegedly pounced on the maid and burnt her skin with a hot pressing iron.

The also drilled a nail into her head, inserted pepper into her vagina, and locked her up in a toilet for failing to do the dishes.

Fortunately, neighbors who overheard her cries, rescued and rushed her to the hospital for treatment.

They also alerted the police who arrested the couple and charged them to court on a 3-count charge bordering on inflicting grievous harm, administering noxious or poisonous substance, and employment of a child as a domestic worker.

The presiding judge, Justice A. C. Ogbuabor of State High Court 10, while delivering his judgement, sentenced the couple to 13 years imprisonment each.

On count one – Inflicting grievous harm, the court sentenced them to 3 years imprisonment. On count two – administering a noxious or poisonous substance, the court sentenced them to 5 years imprisonment, and on count three – employment of a child as a domestic worker, the court sentenced the couple to 5 years imprisonment.

The court however ruled that the period the convicts had been detained after their arrest should be deducted.

“All sentences shall run concurrently,” the judge ruled

In the clip, Ifeoma appeared to have just made her hair, and Paul Okoye decided to tease her, calling her “Ishi Aki,” which means “Coconut Head.”

The “Reason With Me” crooner made this remark while pointing at Ifeoma’s forehead, who also retorted in Igbo.

Nollywood actress and disc jockey, Dorcas Shola Fapson, otherwise known as Ms DSF, has gone into detail about her relationship with her estranged lover, singer Skiibii.

Recall that MS DSF and the “Baddest Boy” star raised speculations of being an item earlier in the year after she went online to share loved-up moments with Skiibii, though concealing his face.

In one of the videos that captured the romantic moments, the thespian and her man rocked a matching Fendi outfit. Another showed them a room that was exquisitely adorned with rose petals.

Sadly, barely three months after making their relationship public, the pair parted ways, and ever since, DSF has been throwing shade at Skiibii at the slightest opportunity.

A Nigerian lady has expressed joy after popular singer, Paul Okoye, slid into her DMs to insult her for trolling his new girlfriend, Ivy Ifeoma.

The lady, identified as Oluchi Sonia, had left a derogatory comment after Paul Okoye showed off his new lover on his official Instagram page.

Recall that Paul, whose wife, Anita, filed for a divorce from him in 2021, unveiled Ifeoma as his new girlfriend last Sunday as they celebrated their one year anniversary.

However, this didn’t sit well with a lot of people, including Oluchi, who flooded his comment section with mixed reactions.

Reacting, Paul Okoye apparently stormed Oluchi’s DM on Instagram to lampoon her for insulting his girlfriend.

However, instead of being infuriated by the insults, Oluchi was excited that Paul showed her attention and went to her Twitter page to share screenshots of his message.

Nigerian superstar singer, David Adekele, popularly known as Davido, has sparked emotions online after he reacted to a video of singer Portable performing at a children’s Christmas party.

Portable recently performed at a children’s party in Warri and took to his verified Instagram page to share the video.

Sharing the video, the Zazu Zeh star described children as a wonderful gift from God and noted that he enjoyed himself with the children.

Sammie Okposo’s wife Ozioma weeps uncontrollably as she pours sand into his grave at his funeral (video)

Late Gospel singer, Sammie Okposo’s wife, Ozioma, was devastated and couldn’t control her tears at the burial ceremony of the late singer.

Sammie, who died in his sleep at the age of 51 on Monday, November 28, was laid to rest on Thursday, December 15, in Lagos state.

He was buried at a private cemetery in Ikoyi, Lagos, after a funeral service officiated by the lead pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, and lead pastor at The L.O.G.I.C (Love Of God In Christ) Church Dr Flourish Peters.

At the cemetery, the bereaved widow of the late singer, Ozioma, was inconsolable as she wept profusely when the customized casket with Sammie Okposo’s name was being lowered into the ground.

Her family and friends, who gathered to mourn her late husband, had to help her when it was time to pour sand into the grave.

A while back, Ozioma was inconsolable as she broke down in tears at her husband’s farewell praise party on Tuesday night.

The funeral rites of the veteran singer kicked off with a farewell praise party in Lagos on Tuesday night, December 13.

Music ministers and top celebrities such as actor Segun Arinze, Timi Dakolo, Tope Alabi, AY comedian, Alibaba, Charles Inojie, and Chinedu “Aki” Ikedieze, among others, attended the event, which took place at the La Madison Place in Oniru, Lagos.

Videos from the event have surfaced online, and a touching clip showed the moment the late singer’s wife, Ozioma, broke down in tears as she watched an old video of herself and her husband play on the screen.
