A politician in Kebbi State has sparked mixed reactions on social media after photos of him clearing gutter in his constituency was shared online.
In the viral photos, the yet-to-be identified politician who was deliberately posing for the camera, is seen standing inside a clogged and dirty gutter removing the dirt with a shovel.
He was well dressed in a blue kaftan, cap and a nice wristwatch was sitting pretty on his wrist while cleaning the gutter.
The pictures have gotten people talking online as they asserted that it’s all a charade to get the support of people in his constituency in the forthcoming election.

Dubai has reportedly banned visa applications from Nigerians after some Nigerian migrants caused chaos in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The young men were captured in a video wreaking havoc in a neighborhood in Satwa at night. In the video, they were seen brandishing cutlass, broke the side window of a car, and generally caused unrest in the quiet neighborhood.
Days after the incident, it was announced that the miscreants have been arrested by men of the Dubai police.
However, Dubai have taken the penalty a step further by banning visa applications from Nigerians planning to visit the country.
An alleged report claim they are no longer issuing visas to Nigerian men below the age of 36 because of the fight.

Reacting to the development, movie producer,Aremu Afolayan said the culprits should be punished but other innocent Nigerians should not be made to pay for their offence.
According to him, the decision made by the Dubai authorities will affect other hardworking Nigerians seeking to make ends meet.
“Pick up the trouble makers and don’t use that to destroy the livelihood of every other Nigerians,” he said in a video.
He also berated the Nigerian ambassador in Dubai for not speaking up for his countrymen.
A yet-to-be identified man has released a video showing the condition of the alleged family house of Nigerian music duo, Peter and Paul Okoye jointly known as PSquare.
In the video making rounds online, the man showed off the exterior of the house which is reportedly situated in the singers’ village in Anambra state.
He also put on display the graves of the singer’s late parents and the uncompleted building belonging to their uncle on the same piece of land.
The property evidently looked deserted and no one was living there to maintain and clean up the environment regularly.

Former US President, Barack Obama has shared his summer playlist for the year 2022 and popular Nigerian music superstars, Wizkid and Davido, were noticeably absent.
On Tuesday, Obama took to his social media page to share the playlist of 35 songs and Nigerians quickly trooped to his page to check the Nigerian artistes that made the list.

Mercyland Church has finally released a press release as well as a video of Ruth Matthew who accused their founding pastor, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin of abducting her son, recounting her claim.

A woman, identified as Ruth Matthew, who had accused a church founder Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin of kidnapping her child has confessed to selling the child.
Matthew had attracted sympathies and attention after alleging that her child went missing at the Christ MercyLand Church in Warri, adding that the owner of the church, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin had a hand in the matter.
While the case was investigated by the Nigerian Police and currently in court, a video made available to journalists yesterday showed Ruth Matthew confessing that she sold her baby and seeking for forgiveness.
While her children were also been interrogated and cross examined in the video, the claims about the prophet being involved in the matter were denied in the presence of her younger brother Mr Joshua Matthew.
Earlier, a man, identified as Alfred Ayo, had appealed to the Federal Government to intervene in the case of his missing child, stating in a video posted on his Facebook page that Ruth Matthew, his wife and her lover connived to hide his child for the purpose of seeking undue favour.
Recall that the founder of Abuja based Human Right Radio, popularly referred to as Brekete family, Ordinary Ahmed Isa, who was at some point investigating the story slammed Ruth and her supporters over the case of the alleged missing child.
Isa, while speaking during a live programme on the radio station had said he won’t be used in pulling down anyone, stressing that the station would not be involved in cases that have iota of lies.
Reacting to the case Isa said the woman who brought up the case could not substantiate her claims and was also looking for ways to use the opportunity to move abroad.
While some people had accused the station of being bribed into dropping the case, Isa said most of the people accusing the station were only looking for cheap publicity and would have rather continued the case if they are able to substantiate it.
The development, which came up about three years, resurfaced recently as some pastors and NGO stood up to seek justice. The development had led the church to file a suite in court over the issue, stating that there was need to put final stop to the matter.
A 23-year-old lady identified as Itunu Adepoju of Badore Area, Ajah, Lagos State has been arrested by the Police in Oyo State for allegedly absconding with a three(3)day old female baby from her mother.
The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Adewale Osifeso, while confirming the arrest, said preliminary investigation by the police disclosed that the mother of the stolen baby, Monsurat Lateef, 36, of Itamerin Area, Ogbere, Ona Ara LGA , delivered a baby girl on Saturday July 16 at Mission House, Yahora Faith Mission, Itamerin,Ogbere.
”However on Tuesday 19/07/2022, she proceeded to Abaemu General Hospital, Ona-Ora to initiate immunization proceedings for her daughter from where she met the suspect who approached her as a friendly patient who also soughted Medical intervention.
Unknown to Monsurat, the suspect had just suffered a stillbirth and had been referred to the same health facility for scan.
They got chatting and the suspect indicated interest in moving down to Ibadan from Lagos and was in dire need of accomodation. Monsurat Lateef ‘f’ ’36yrs’, driven by empathy decided to oblige the total stranger by assisting her with the House search.
In furtherance to the above, the complainant decided to invite her(the suspect) over to spend the night because at the time, the House searching had encroached into late evening.
At about 1am, the suspect, Itunu Adepoju who had now totally gained the confidence and trust of her host pleaded to use a nearby Point of sales terminal with the three(3)day old baby carefully tucked away on her back.The money she intended collecting according to her was sent to her by her Fiance for the purpose of completing the rent process.
”The Complainant Monsurat Lateef ‘f’, obliged the suspect before she later realized she had been tricked and that the suspect had absconded with her Child.” Oyifeso said
He added that an investigation is ongoing and the matter would be expressly charged to court upon its completion.

May Edochie, first wife of popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has reacted after a clergywoman predicted that her husband would one day beg her for forgiveness.
Reacting to one of May’s social media posts, the pastor, who identified herself as Pastor Fortunata from Tanzania, assured the mother of four to be at rest, as Yul would soon come begging for forgiveness.
“May what I know, one day your husband will come to you and beg you. Pastor Fortunata. From Tanzania”, she wrote.
May seemingly agreeing with the pastor’s prediction, thanked her for her prayers.
“Thank you for your prayers,” she wrote.

The Edo State Police Command have arrested one Favor Oyhou who was previously declared wanted for allegedly stabbing her boyfirnd, Paul handsome, 25 to death in Abuchi, Edo State.
According to viral reports, Favour and the deceased were lovers who were the envy of so many people. They share their loved-up content on TikTok and other social media platforms.
Trouble started when Favor found out Handsome was allegedly cheating. An argument ensued between them which soon degenerated into a fight and she stabbed him in the process.
The deceased was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead. Favor went into hiding after the incident.
Confirming her arrest, the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Jennifer U. Iwegbu, said;
“Consequent upon this dastardly act , the Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, fdc, immediately ordered the Area Commander and Divisional Police Officer in charge of Auchi to smoke out the fleeing girl unhurt.
The Command wishes to inform the general public that following credible intelligence gathering by Operatives of the Command, the suspect was arrested in Benin on 25/7/2022 at about 2245hrs.
Discreet investigation has commenced and the suspect is making useful information and will be charged to court soon”.
In a related development, the spokesperson said the police have rescued three traditionalists who were abducted.
She stated that on 25/07/2022 at about 1pm, the Command through its Divisional Headquater at Ugo received a complaint that hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers accosted and whisked into the bush three traditional worshippers who had gone to a river along the Benin-Abraka road for prayers.
“Upon receipt of the information, Divisional Police Officer Ugo immediately mobilised his operatives to the scene in hot pursuit of the hoodlums and possible rescue of the victims. The hoodlums sensing the presence of the operatives on their trail were forced to abandon their victims and fled into the bush.
The victims have since been reunited with their families, meanwhile, intense bush combing is still ongoing to neutralize or arrest the hoodlums”, Iwegbu said
Realty TV star, Ike Onyema, has threatened to open cans of worms after his estranged lover, Mercy Eke, denied ever dating him.
Recall that Mercy Eke, who was a guest on the Frankly Speaking podcast with Nedu and Pretty Mike, maintained that she and Ike Onyema were never an item.

A Brooklyn pastor who flaunts his expensive jewelries and possession, Bishop Lamor Miller-Whitehead, has defended his flamboyant lifestyle.
This comes after he was robbed at gunpoint by some men who stormed his church while he was preaching on Sunday. The armed robbers carted away jewelries worth $1 million belonging to him and his wife in the attack that was livestreamed in Canarsie.
Netizens blamed the clergyman for the attack because he’s fond of showing off his diamond-encrusted chains, Gucci suits and luxury cars on social media.
Reacting to the comments, Miller-Whitehead took to his Instagram page to say it was not his fault that he was targeted by the thieves.
Defending his lifestyle, he said, “It’s not about me being flashy. It’s about me purchasing what I want to purchase. It’s my prerogative to purchase what I want to purchase.”
According to the 44-year-old, his public display of wealth should not be blamed for the gunpoint robbery and it’s not his fault for standing out in the community, given his status.
He added: “Sometimes when you’re a known bishop, it’s a gift and a curse. You become the talk of the town.”
At the time of the robbery, the clergyman and his wife were wearing over $1 million worth of jewelries which were all stolen by the thieves.
They took $75,000 Rolex watch, $75,000 Cavalier watch, $25,000 Episcopal ruby and diamond ring, $25,000 Episcopal diamond ring, $25,000 pair of earrings, $20,000 diamond and emerald cross, $20,000 Episcopal ring, $20,000 Episcopal cross and a $10,000 Episcopal gold cross, totaling $1,060,000.
A 27-year-old Pennsylvanian man, Elliot Senseman, has died days after he was strangled by his 18-foot-long pet boa constrictor.
It was gathered that the long and thick reptile wrapped itself around Elliot’s neck which led to oxygen supply being cut off from his brain.
He was pronounced dead on Sunday, July 24, after suffering from accidental asphyxiation that caused an anoxic brain injury.
The Police speaking on the incident said they received a call from a relative of Senseman on Wednesday, July 20, and went to his home.
When they arrived, they saw him lying on the floor unresponsive with the 18-foot boa constrictor wrapped around his body. The snake’s head was far from his body so they decided to shoot it.
“Our officers responded and shot the snake with hopes of freeing the victim,” Lt Peter Nickischer of the Upper Macungie Township Police said.
The snake did not die immediately and slithered away before it was euthanized.
Lt. Peter said he has never seen anything like that in his 19 years of being in the police force and that the snake was “very long, and very thick.”
Sadly, Senseman passed away four days after the tragic attack.
The grieving mother of the deceased said her son often rescued snakes and was “still working with” the boa constrictor because it was very aggressive.
An excited Nigerian lady has taken to social media to celebrate as she’s expecting a child with her boyfriend, whom her friends had warned would dump her.

In other news, a police officer has been caught on tape boldly seeking bride from motorists while reiterating that he does not collect “change”.
In the video that was filmed by road users, the officer and his colleague stopped a vehicle and demanded money from them after inspecting the car papers.
The officer was then offered an undisclosed amount, but he declined it and stated he only collects a large sum.
The bribe-seeking officer also declared that even the IGP knows he collects money from motorists. According to him, the road is his “market” and the commuters are his “customers”.
Nigerian journalist, Jafaar Jafaar has tendered an ‘apology’ to his fellow Northerners who attacked him for calling out President Buhari over the appointments he has made so far.
Jaafar had taken to Facebook to criticize Buhari for always appointing Northerners to head the security agencies in Nigeria yet the insecurity level is worsening in the North.
He said this in reaction to the appointment of a northerner – Deputy Corps Marshal, Finance and Accounts, Dauda Biu – as the acting Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
“Even FRSC, this man is appointing a northerner! With all the northerners forming the country’s security architecture today, security situation has deteriorated in the region.
When Buhari leaves office, we, northerners, will have no ground to groan under lopsided appointments,”he wrote.
Some Northerners found his post offensive and slammed him for speaking against President Buhari.

Popular Nigerian rapper, Oludemilade Martin Alejo better known as Ycee, has slammed Solomon Buchi for saying his fiancée, Arike, is not the most beautiful or intelligent woman he knows.
On Monday, July 25, Solomon Buchi became the trending conversation on social media after he penned a rather controversial post about his woman.
He said his fiancée is not the most beautiful or intelligent woman yet he choose to be with her because he’s not looking for perfection.
The post has since sparked a debate on the cyberspace, including international waters, as netizens criticized him for not speaking highly of his woman even if she’s truly ‘average’.
Some accused him of being a narcissist who feels the need to talk down on his woman in public to feel good about himself, while some others argued that there was nothing wrong with his post but he shouldn’t have posted it online..
Rapper, Ycee has also weighed into the controversial topic in a post shared on Snapchat. He shared a screenshot of Solomon’s post and advised people to get married to people who actually like them, and not those who think they are settling for them.
He wrote, “You people should marry someone that likes you and sees you as the number one person in the world because what even in the fuck is this message?” accompanied with multiple puking emoji.

He also shared a post Solomon tweeted in 2020 which counters his recent post and called him a ‘clown’.
Mixed reactions have trailed a video of a young girl twerking up a storm years after she became an internet sensation for preaching the gospel.
The girl was a young participant in Ghana’s TV3 reality show The Pulpit, which helped youngsters between the ages of 10 and 14 in honing their preaching abilities. The reality show debuted in 2013.
Well, years later, a video of one of the young preachers dancing seductively has surfaced online and elicited reactions from netizens.
While many blamed the switch on bad parenting and peer influence, others opined that there was nothing wrong with the video as she’s a child who’s still exploring.

Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, has replied to womb watchers suggesting she’s pregnant and expecting a fifth child.
The mother of four had taken to her Instagram page to share a video of herself in a free blue dress when eagle-eyed followers claimed that they could see a growing baby bump.
Of all the comments, one Kingzuby3’s comment speculating that she’s expecting a baby body caught the actress’ attention and interestingly, she replied.
“5th child loading abi my eye dey pain me so? Hahaha…It’s gonna be a boy this time around”, He wrote.
Responding, Mercy, who did not confirm or debunk the speculation, simply wrote “Chai” with laughter emojis.
A while ago, Mercy Johnson spoke about the hardest part of being a mother.
The Thespian, in an Instagram post on Wednesday, May 4, while celebrating her daughter, Divine, as she clocked 2, said the hardest part of motherhood is when kids grow up.
According to her, no one really opens up about this part of motherhood.
Sharing an adorable video of her little girl, Mercy Johnson wrote,
“My baby will be 2 in a bit… I am happy ….No one tells you, that the hardest part of motherhood is when your kids grow up.”
The Enugu-based wig seller, identified as Onourah Caritas Onyinye, who was arrested by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over alleged possession of illegal drugs, described herself as a “small girl with a big God” on her Facebook bio.

Spokesperson of the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, July 24, said she was nabbed with 2.192 kilos of cocaine found hidden in two designer’s women handbags with false linings.

Nigerian lawyer, Hassan Othman, one of the abducted passengers of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train, whose photos went viral a few days ago, has finally been released.
Othman and three other victims were released on Monday, July 25.
This comes a day after the terrorists released a disturbing video showing the abducted passengers being flogged with sticks while they wailed and begged for mercy.
Recounting his four-month ordeal in captivity, Hassan Othman, in an interview with BBC Hausa service, said they were brutally beaten by the terrorists and slept on bare ground in the thick forest where they were held captive.
“We were seriously beaten as seen in the video and it is as a result of failure to rescue us by government. Because of the government’s attitude, they were angered and they thoroughly beat us. We were severely flogged and that was just the beginning. This makes me to pity those that are still with them in the forest.
“In terms of feeding, the they fed us according to their capacity. At times, they even slaughtered cattle and sheep for us. Even day before yesterday they slaughtered a cow and we ate, we thank Allah
“I couldn’t locate the forest we were taken, since the Federal government had failed to rescue us for the past 4 months, the international community should come in and rescue the remaining victims who were in a pitiable condition in the forest. Our relatives facilitated our release, they initially tried but government stopped them and now succeeded. I don’t know if they paid ransom or not, three of us are released today, the remaining in captivity are up to 40.” He said.
Nollywood actress, Queen Nwokoye has spoken up after being named as one of the actresses who have slept with popular clergyman, Apostle Johnson Suleman.
This comes after controversial blogger, Gist Lover, released a list of names of Nollywood actresses who have had an affair with the married pastor.
Responding to the allegation, Queen in a video shared on her Instagram page, said she would have ignored the claim because a clear conscience fears no accusation but her reputation is at stake and she can’t afford to keep quiet.
She noted that she has made mistakes and done things she’s not proud of in life but sleeping with a man of God is something she can never do because she knowns God will judge her.
According to her, she has never slept with Apostle Suleman and would not allow anyone use her name to defame the clergyman.
She captioned the video,
“It is a Nigerian thing to always assume that once you know someone,you are sleeping with the person but that one concern una. I have met a lot of people,I will still meet more and I do not owe anyone any apologies for people I have met and associated with. Pastor Suleman is a good man. Nothing will make me deny knowing him. You choose the kind of relationship you want to have with someone and all friendships mustn’t end in bed. So if you have a problem with him,settle it with him. Don’t recruit innocent people into your mess. I will never allow myself to be used to make Pastor Suleman look bad.”
An Istanbul-based Nigerian man, Iwuala Nnamdi, has taken to social media to cry out for help after his cousin, Favour Amajor, was allegedly kidnapped in Abuja.
According to Nnamdi, his cousin was last seen at the Dawaki Galadima area of the Federal Capital Territory on Monday afternoon, July 25, 2022.
He claimed the abductors sent a message to her family, threatening that they would never see her again.
He wrote on Facebook,

In other news, one of the abducted passengers of the ill-fated Kaduna train who spoke in a new video released by the terrorists has been identified as a lawyer named Hassan Usman.
It would be recalled that on March 28, 2022, terrorists said to be Boko Haram members attacked the Kaduna-bound train, killed some passengers and abducted others, while some lucky passengers were left unscathed.
In a new development, the terrorists have released a heart-wrenching video showing the abducted passengers being flogged with sticks while they wailed and begged for mercy.
In the video, one of the passengers who spoke on behalf of the other passengers, complained bitterly about the Federal Government’s failure to secure their release.
He also called for the help of foreign countries and international bodies to come to their rescue since the Nigerian Government have failed them.
An acquaintance of the man, Ahmed Abdul, has taken to Facebook to reveal that the man who spoke in the video is a lawyer, named Hassan Usman.
Nigerian politician, Dino Melaye has sympathized with Colonel Babanawa, the father of a Nigerian soldier who was killed by terrorists in Abuja, Lieutenant Ibrahim Jaro Suleiman Babanawa.
Babanawa was brutally killed when some terrorists laid ambush on his military troop in the Bwari area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on Sunday night.
It was gathered that the soldiers went to the Nigeria Law School in Bwari following a distress call from the management of the school over a letter they received from the terrorists indicating an imminent attack on the school.
A captain and two soldiers attached to the 7 Guards Brigade of the Nigerian Army visited the school but were attacked and killed by the terrorists.
Reacting to the heartbreaking incident, Dino Melaye, a former Senator representing Kogi West, took to Facebook to condole with Col Babanawa on the death of his son. According to him, Nigeria is no longer the country we used to know.
Sharing a picture of the deceased soldier, Melaye wrote,
“My condolence to Col Babanawa for the loss of his son a Nigerian soldier who was ambushed with his colleagues by Bandits and kiiled around Bwari yesterday. May his soul rest in peace. This country is not the country we know anymore. Inside FCT ooooo”.
