The Big Brother Naija reunion show came to a climatic end last night and as expected it had sparks flying with social media reactions after it aired.
One fan had taken to Twitter to ask whether Cross gave Angel’s father money.
The Twitter user with the handle @bidemi_brooke
Cross gave Angels father and mother money?
Angel would have none of that and she took to her page to write;
Are you out of your stupid ass mind??? Don’t try me this evening. My father and your boy did a charity case together and they donated to an orphanage. Cut that bs out.
And let everyone call me angry and defensive; I do not care. Whatever narrative about me can fly but you see my parents? You will not dare label them as beggars.
Y’all better leave my Good man alone; because I will go to war for him.
Angel also used the opportunity to appreciate the organizers of the Reality Show for giving her a platform.
In her words;
Reunion over. Grateful for the platform given @BBNaija @DStvNg and most importantly I’m thankful for the family I got from it. Archangels, no matter how far you all journey to; I will always cherish all of you. Thank you for believing in a flawed girl like me. Yellow forever💛

The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, could not contain his emotions as he wept bitterly on Friday at the funeral mass for victims of the terror attack at St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.
It would be recalled that it was a black Friday for Nigerians on Sunday, June 5, after gunmen invaded the Catholic church and shot sporadically at worshippers, leaving scores dead and others injured.
The remains of victims who were killed in the attack were laid to rest today, Friday, June 17, with a funeral mass that was held at the Mydas Resort and Hotel, Owo.
Governor Akeredolu and his wife, Chief Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, were present at the event.
Governor Akeredolu, who wept during his speech, said the government failed to protect the victims of the terror attack.
“We have failed to defend these people. Not because we have not tried, but because these forces on the other side are evil and they have support. They will not triumph over us forever,” He said.
The governor stated that something needs to be done in the country, and that the country’s security architecture needs to be restructured.
“When I see the sea of heads that are here it speaks volumes. What has happened to us in Owo in Ondo state is indescribable. A lot of words are used to qualify it. Dastardly, horrendous. But I still believe there are words to use to describe it but I still short of those words.
“We have just 22 (deceased) in this hall. A few of them have been buried. Because the relatives couldn’t wait till today. But as at the last count, these animals came to the church and murdered 40 people.” Governor Akeredolu added.
However, the Bishop of Ondo Catholic Diocese, Dr. Jude Arogundade, responded quickly, declaring that Akeredolu has not failed to defend his people.
“You didn’t fail. You are a strong soldier. Your determination to protect those who voted you into power is unquestionable. This was done by cowards. You have tried your best.” Bishop Arogundade said.
He thanked the Governor for accepting to designate a memorial park in honour of the victims, stressing that those who created the situation that made the incident happened has bloods on their hands.
Members of the State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. David Bamidele Oleyelogun also attended the service.
Members of the state executive council, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, were also present at the funeral mass.
Other dignitaries at the funeral mass included: Former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko; Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Engr. Ade Adetimehin; and Chieftain of the APC , Chief Olusola Oke.
A Nigerian man has shared a screenshot of the message he received from a debtor who has refused to return his money after four years.
Taking to Twitter, the man identified as Richie disclosed that the debtor owed him money for four years before suddenly becoming unreachable and blocking him to prevent him from asking.
He claimed that when the debtor finally unblocked him, he asked for the money, but he flatly refused to return it and challenged him to do his worst.
From the message he shared, the debtor insisted that he had no plans to refund the money as he also had people who were owing him and had refused to pay.
“I cant give you the money”, the debtor said.
When Richie inquired as to why he was refusing to repay the money he had borrowed, the debtor replied,
“I don’t have reason a lot of people are owing me but I don’t act like a lunatic towards them. So I’ve decided that I’ll not give you”.
Sharing the chat, Richie advised his followers to stop lending people money.
According to him, the danger of lending people money is that you tend to lose the friendship and may never get the money back.
“Stop lending money to people. They won’t pay you back… When you lend people money, you tend to lose both the money and friendship”. He tweeted.
Photos of a University of Maiduguri graduate who now sells water on the streets of Taraba State to make ends meet has been shared online.

A Nigerian lawyer has sparked controversy on social media after saying that landlords cannot unilaterally increase the rent of their tenants.
According to @Egi_Nupe_, both the landlord and tenant must agree for the rent to be increased but if the landlord insists on increasing the rent, the tenant should demand for a quit notice.
He further stated that when the duration of the quit notice expires, only a court order can eject the tenant from the property.
“Your landlord cannot unilaterally increase rent, both of you must agree. If he insists, tell him to serve quit notice. After the expiration, only a court order can eject you from the property,” he tweeted.
However, the tweet sparked mixed reactions online as people opine that he’s wrong and landlords can choose to increase rent without consulting the tenant.
Reacting to the controversy, the lawyer wrote,
“It’s the lawyers capping in the comments section for me. Apparently, most of them are those advising their clients-landlords to disregard tenants’ rights. They issue irregular quit notices, advise landlords to resort to self-help and frustrate tenants.
If not, why is it hard to have an understanding with a tenant before increasing the rent? Why do you want to eject a tenant without quit notice or court order? What does it profit you to lord over tenants and abuse their rights cos you own the house? Terrible much!!!!
The message was clear: agree with your landlord on rent increment. If you don’t agree, then do the proper thing. But you are all in the comment section capping and expecting a detailed syllabus on tenancy law.”
The U.K government has shut down Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, founded by UK-based Nigerian Pastor, Tobi Adeboyega, over an alleged £1.87 million fraud.
The evangelical church commonly known as SPAC Nation was wound up in the High Court on 9 June 2022 before Judge Burton, after the church reportedly failed to properly account for more than £1.87 million of outgoings and operating with a lack of transparency.
The court heard that SPAC Nation was incorporated in 2012, a charity set up to advance Christianity. Much of its charitable work was based in London, working particularly with vulnerable people, youth, and offenders.
The Christian group was first well-accepted and earned media attention. However, by late 2019, SPAC Nation has come under fire from the public when former church members claimed that senior church officials had taken advantage of them financially.
After receiving concerns about SPAC Nation, the Insolvency Service launched its own private investigation into the church group’s operations.
According to a statement posted on the country’s website, the Official Receiver has been appointed as liquidator of the company.
The statement reads,
“The court heard that SPAC Nation was incorporated in 2012, a charity set up to advance Christianity. Much of its charitable work was based in London, working particularly with vulnerable people, youth, and offenders.
Initially, the church group received positive reviews and media attention. But by late 2019 SPAC Nation was subject to media scrutiny following allegations by former church members they had been financially exploited by senior church personnel.
Investigators interviewed pastor Dapo Adegboyega and he said that the church group had over 2,000 members and 200 ordained ministers and pastors but failed to provide any supporting information.
Further enquiries found that SPAC Nation either failed to comply or only partially complied with statutory requirements, including providing data to support claimed donations, and accounting records in support of £1.87 million of expenditure.
The company’s financial statements in the two years to 31 December 2019 set out £610,000 of rent expenditure. However, the company did not have a single base of its own and would hire venues across London to hold services, at significant expense.
Salvation Proclaimer Ministries Limited was wound-up after the court concluded the company operated with a lack of transparency, filed suspicious or incorrect accounts, and was insolvent at the time of the hearing.
It was also recognised that the company provided inconsistent information to the Insolvency Service and Charity Commission, and failed to deliver up adequate accounting records”.
Big Brother Naija star, Saga Adeolu has advised ladies to stop playing hard to get because it’s archaic.
According to Saga, the common notion that women should not show interest in a guy too quickly because it would make them seen as an easy catch is outdated.
The 28-year-old fitness enthusiast, who was stuck on his co-star, Nini, on the sixth edition of Big Brother Naija show, shared this opinion on Twitter on Friday, June 17.
“Ladies if you like him, there’s really no point playing hard to get. Let’s all agree, that shit is old school”, he tweeted.
However, many people expressed disagreement with his take as they opined that ladies shouldn’t be easily accessible to a male admirer because it would lead to disrespect and contempt.
A Twitter user wrote, “And wen you play easy to get, they think you are cheap and still break your heart…This life no Balance”
Reacting to the lady’s concern, Saga said he doesn’t mean ladies should play easy to get but they should simply be themselves.

A California man has been arrested and charged with torture, false imprisonment, mayhem, forceful rape, and other felonies after reportedly holding a 22-year-old woman in his home against her will for months.
The 59-year-old man, identified as Peter Anthony McGuire, is alleged to have held his female roommate captive in his home for 6 months.
The alleged 22-year-old victim, who has not been publicly identified, allegedly escaped from the suspect’s home on Thursday night, June 9 and was found in a park by bystanders who called the police, according to officials.
“Very soon after moving into the house she was not allowed to leave, she was held there against her will by him and at that point was subjected to multiple assaults,” Police officials said in a statement.
McGuire “subjected” her to repeated assaults, including cutting out her tongue, taking out an eye, and slicing her nose, ear, and lip, according to a criminal complaint.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement that “the victim had obvious injuries consistent with the claims made.”
She was taken to a local hospital and is now in stable condition, said the San Bernadino District Attorney’s Office
.
McGuire had already fled his home by the time police arrived, but investigators tracked him down in Orange County and took him into custody on Saturday, June 11 after a standoff between him and police.
He, on the other hand, has pled not guilty to counts of kidnapping, torture, mayhem, rape, false imprisonment, sodomy, forcible oral copulation, and assault with a deadly weapon.
He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center without bail.

It would be recalled that armed men stormed the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo state, on Sunday June 6th, shooting sporadically at worshippers, leaving at least 38 worshippers dead and a score of others severely injured.
The National Security Council linked the attack to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and on Thursday, June 9, the Owo monarch announced the arrest of the culprits.
However, during the brief ritual on Thursday, June 16, the worshipers, Olowo, and other ‘ogun’ devotees hurled ancestral curses at the criminals, believing that nemesis would catch up with them in no time.

The Special Assistant to the Olowo of Owo, Mr. Sam Adewale, explained that the attack on 127 worshippers necessitated the invocation of Ogun curses on perpetrators of the gruesome attack on the Owo community.
A full-blown fight almost broke out between Big Brother Naija stars, Beatrice Agba Nwaji and Maria Chike Benjamin, during the reunion show that aired on Thursday night, June 16.
The drama started when Beatrice revealed that she didn’t move close or attempt to become friends with Maria during the show because she didn’t like her.
This seemingly got to Maria who immediately interrupted her and said she didn’t want to be friends with her either because she doesn’t belong to the caliber of people she is friends with.
She added that Beatrice probably disliked her because she has inferiority complex and told her to deal with her self-esteem issues before approaching her.
This statement struck a cord in Beatrice and she instinctively stood up and made to physically attack Maria but was stopped by Pere and other housemates who intervened.
Thereafter, the mom of one was escorted off the set by the camera crew.

This incident has stirred reactions from viewers of the show, and majority of them berated Beatrice for her actions while noting that the attempted attack was not necessary.

Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of former Biafra president, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, has narrated an encounter with Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), in 2009.
The diplomat was reacting to the outburst by a popular cleric, Fr. Ejike Mbaka, who said the former Anambra State governor will never become the next President of Nigeria because he is “stingy”.
While speaking to members of his church on Wednesday, June 15, Mbaka said a stingy man cannot be Nigeria’s president because Nigerians are hungry and they need a generous man.
”A stingy man cannot be our President. We are very hungry. We need a generous person. Nigerians are hungry. Are we not hungry?” he asked
However, in a Facebook post titled ‘On Peter Obi’s supposed stinginess’ on Thursday, Bianca shared an encounter she had with Obi in 2009 while he was still Anambra’s governor.
Bianca revealed that during her encounter with Obi in 2009, he donated the balance of $3,800, which he could have spent on a suit for an international event, to charity.
In her words,
“Sometime in 2009, ‘Mr’(as he preferred to be addressed) Peter Obi, Governor Of Anambra State at the time, visited Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and myself at Dallas, Texas. He came to deliver a get well message from Dr Goodluck Jonathan and was billed to attend a black tie event at the Dallas Marriot.
“Curiously, he flew into Dallas airport with one small carry-on luggage which he insisted on wheeling around himself, and on getting to our residence requested to freshen up.
“He opened his carry-on, filled with files and paperwork and a few toiletries and an extra shirt, when Ikemba and I asked if he was expecting another item of luggage, and he said no.
Then, what will you be wearing to the event tonight?’, we inquired. It was at that point that it struck him that he couldn’t show up in his casuals at such a ceremony. I insisted on taking him to the luxury men’s emporium at Nieman Marcus to buy a smart black suit. When we got there, he was busy doing the Dollar to Naira currency conversions.
“The suit that was a perfect match for him was a dapper Tom Ford suit with a price tag of 3,985 dollars plus tax.
“He did the calculations and told me ‘Do you know how many students this amount of money can train in Nigeria?’ I reminded him that he was the governor as well as the special guest, and for the caliber of guests expected at that evening’s occasion, including the mayor, senators and captains of conglomerates amongst others, he needed to be dressed in top form.
“To cut the story short, he refused to pay what he termed ’that outrageous price’ for the Tom Ford suit and that was how we ended up at Steinmart where he agreed to pay a more acceptable price of 220 dollars, tax inclusive, for a basic men’s suit which he was happy to wear to that evening’s event.
“What struck me, was that as we were on the way to the airport to see him off for his return flight back to Nigeria, he reached for his pocket where he brought out an envelope of crisp hundred dollar bills. The amount in the envelope was 3,800 dollars.
“He said ‘ Anyanwu, this is the balance of the money I would have paid for the ‘Ford’ suit. If the label on the suit was ‘Peter Obi’, I am wondering if anybody in America will pay that amount for it. I have deducted the amount we paid for that suit we eventually bought. Please use this balance for your Charity foundation to help those in actual need. I trust you will do so’.
“We all laughed heartily. Vintage Peter Obi! The eventual beneficiaries of that largese were Madam Theresa Agbo, a yam seller who became penniless and displaced when her Yam shed was gutted by fire, Callistus Egbe who was bedridden due to illness, and needed help with the school fees of his young children, and the Mgbemena family of six who were thrown out of their one room accommodation (which we subsequently doubled to two rooms) because their breadwinner fell upon hard times and could no longer afford the rent.
“In life, you either live by your creed or you desecrate the mould by which the Almighty created you. Any progressive nation measures an individual by his values, not his vaults. If this way of life is what is derided as ‘stinginess’ on the part of Peter Obi, then we all need to adopt this mould for a more sustainable and more humane environment.” She wrote.
Nigerian comedian, Okey Bakassi has recounted how he spoke against President Buhari becoming the first citizen in Nigeria during the 2015 and 2019 presidential election.
According to him, he shouted on the rooftop that “Bubu” lacked the pedigree to make Nigeria better but no one listened to him.
Taking to his Instagram page, Okey Bakassi said he has now pitched his tent with Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, for the 2023 general elections and he would also not listen to anyone who tries to convince him otherwise.
He said;
When I was shouting in 2015 & 2019 to anyone who cared to listen that Bubu lacked the pedigree to make Nigeria better, some people refused to listen. Today Nigeria is in a mess and we are all suffering it. This 2023 election, it’s my turn not to listen to anyone…it’s PETER OBI for President!
I don’t want to listen to anything that is not related to how Peter will win the election, don’t stress me with your political permutations. I can pay small attention to you, if you’re talking about other positions like National Assembly, Governor or State Assembly.
I don’t want to hear about Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, etc…I don’t want to hear about Christian, Muslim or Witchcraft. If the political discussion is not about how Peter will win, I will not listen.
Big Brother Naija star, Boma Akpore, has cleared the air on his relationship with fellow reality TV star, Tega Dominic.
The pair became prominent during the show due to their romantic involvement, coupled with the fact that Tega introduced herself as a married woman.
On several instances, Boma and Tega were seen kissing and making out, an act that sparked outrage, with many accusing them of defiling the sanctity of marriage.
Tega’s supposed husband, Ajebo, also publicly addressed his ‘wife’s’ activities in the house at the time, and celebrated her birthday with sweet messages on her birthday, making many believe they were indeed married.
However, in the most recent episode of the reunion, Boma, who previously declared that his relationship with Tega was a strategy, claimed that he did all he did with her because he was aware of the status of her supposed marriage outside the house.
According to him, while many of the housemates and viewers believed Tega was married, he knew the marriage crashed before she came into the house, so he saw her as a single woman.
Speaking on why he didn’t reveal the details while he was being bashed for being in an amorous relationship with a married woman, Boma said it was not his story to tell.

In a chat with Qed.ng, he said the case is being handled by the First Lady of the state, Martha Udom Emmanuel, through her Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path Initiative.
He added that the organization would not condone such a crime.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, the pair will be required to compensate their victim with £10,000 in damages.
The husband and wife, aged 36 and 29 years old, respectively, admitted that they required another person to perform “forced or compulsory labour” in their home at Ashmount Gardens in Lisburn, between September 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
The couple admitted keeping the Nigerian woman as a domestic slave in their then Castlereagh Place home in Belfast for a ten-month period.
Popular Nollywood actress, Ini Edo has shed light on the factors that led to her failed marriage with her ex-husband, Philip Ehiagwina.
The 40-year-old movie star opened up on her marriage in a recent interview with media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV’s Rubbing Minds show.
The thespian who got married to Phillip in 2008 but got divorced six years later, said their marriage crashed because of distance.
According to her, the union might have worked if they were staying together because it would avail them the opportunity to communicate and understand each other better.
The mum of one added that family interference also played a role in their failed marriage as some of her husband’s family members were against some roles she played in movies.
Her words,
“No matter the indifference or incompatibility, if you’re together in love, a lot of things can actually work out.
However, you don’t get to work things out when there is no contact. When you are with someone, and you can’t agree on certain things or find a common ground, I think being together could have actually helped us to understand each other better.
Most of the time, we attract the wrong people, sometimes for the wrong reasons. Because when people come to you because of what they see on TV, it’s hard for them to accept you considering the fact that you are just acting because that is your job.
When they find out that it’s not the real you, it becomes a problem.Marriage is an experience which I don’t regret. My ex-husband met me as an actress. My job takes my time because naturally there are certain roles you are not allowed to play once you are married.
Even if your husband understands, his relatives might not understand. My ex-husband is the last child, so family interference in the marriage was normal.
“Marriage has taught me a lot of lessons, it made me wiser and stronger. I think it actually made me more mature. I don’t think I married too early, maybe I was a little bit in a hurry.”
A Nigerian man on the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter, has opined that only a woman who was married as a virgin has the right to demand that her husband remain faithful to her.
According to the man identified as John Doe, women who entered marriage with multiple body counts and even slept with married men should not demand loyalty from their spouse.
He claimed that these women marry in the expectation of finding a safe haven.
“Only a woman that met & married her husband as a Virgin, has right to demand that he remains faithful to her. Some of you entered your marriage with multiple body counts to the extent that you slept with married men. You thought your marriage was a safe “haven” for you?” He tweeted.
John Doe’s tweet sparked outrage, especially from women, and stirred varying reactions from netizens on the micro-blogging platform.

Controversial Big Brother Naija ‘shine ya eye’ star, Tega, has revealed why she claimed to be married in the house despite being separated before her participation in the reality show.
The mother of one who claimed she was married on the show faced heavy backlash from Nigerians on social media for being involved with fellow reality TV star, Boma. Many tagged her conduct on the show as a disrespect to the institution of marriage.
However, on Thursday night’s episode of the reunion show, Tega, who had earlier revealed she and her husband Ajebo had been separated since 2020, explained why she claimed she was married on the show.
According to her, claiming to be married was her strategy for the game.
Tega stated this while defending her on-screen romance with Boma.
She insisted that she had been divorced from her husband since 2020, but decided to use marriage as a strategy on the show.
“For a fact, I didn’t go into the show as married. I went in as separated. In all my interviews, I clearly stated it. I went in as separated. During our conversations and introductions, I just said well I’m married and I have a kid. That was supposed to be a strategy. Getting deep into the show, I then discovered that this was doing something great in a bad way to me.” She said.

A Nigerian man, Osarobo John Izekor, and his wife, Precious Izekor, who made a vulnerable Nigerian woman perform forced labour in their home in east Belfast, United Kingdom, will be sentenced for the slavery offence on June 27, 2022, a court has heard.
Crown barrister Charles MacCreanor said the woman, who could not read or write, arrived in Northern Ireland in 2011 and worked as a nanny for a five-year period.
When her employer returned to Nigeria in Autumn 2016, she moved into Castlereagh Place and was told money would be sent back to her family for any work she undertook.
The woman had her own room and was provided with food and clothing for the ten months she spent in their house, but she was not paid any money.
The Izekors also had possession of her passport and other documents, which she didn’t have access to.
MacCreanor said that whilst living with the Izekors, the woman was in contact with a relative of John’s, who expressed a desire for her to return to Nigeria so they could get married.
This relative asked the woman about her documentation and visa status, and when she raised this issue with Precious, they got into a fight.
Despite her request for her documents, they were not handed over to the woman, and the argument led to a “deterioration of relations”.
When Precious Izekor was out, the woman attempted to locate her passport and her other documents. She left the Izekors a few days later and went to stay with a friend.
The woman’s friend was concerned for the woman, believing she was being exploited, and accompanied her to the Home Office, according to the court.
Precious was queried about the woman by a Home Office officer who came to the Izekors’ house, and she denied knowing her.
An investigation was launched, which resulted in the involvement of the PSNI and the subsequent arrests of both John and Precious Izekor.
During his police interview, John Izekor initially denied any wrong-doing and made the case they were letting the women stay in their home and were helping her.
In her interview, Precious told officers the woman was a family friend and was never asked to do any form of work or labour.
Mr MacCreanor said there were text messages between the husband and wife which indicated the control they had over the woman whilst she was living with them.
He also said that she spoke to police about her ordeal, the woman said she felt isolated and alone whilst living with the couple.
Defence barrister Barry Gibson, representing John Ikezor, said that following his arrest his client spent three months on remand.
He also spoke of Izekor’s university education, extensive work history and his clear criminal record.
Precious Izekor’s barrister Gavan Duffy QC revealed there was a former good relationship between the two women, and said there was a complete lack of violence or physical assault.
After listening to submissions from both the Crown and defence, Judge Richard Greene QC spoke of the complexities of the case and said he wanted to consider several issues before passing sentence.
After being told that the Izekors had previously lodged £10,000 to the court to act as a surety for bail, the judge ordered that this money be paid to the woman they kept as a domestic slave.
Judge Greene told the couple the charge they pleaded guilty to was “an extremely serious offence” and released them on continuing bail ahead of sentencing, which is set to take place on June 27, 2022.
The case, which was heard at Belfast Crown Court, is one of the first prosecutions under the Human Trafficking and Exploitation Act (NI) 2015.
