“No part of her body was mutilated” – Lagos Commissioner of Police counters Bamise’s sister’s claim that her private part was removed

Lagos Commissioner of Police counters

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has denied reports that the private part of 22-year-old Bamise Ayanwole was harvested by her abductors.

Recall that the young lady was kidnapped and brutally murdered after taking a ride in a BRT bus from Lekki area of Lagos state.

Bamise’s older sister, Titilayo Ayanwole, during a press conference earlier today had disclosed that Bamise’s private part was removed by her assailants.

In the heartbreaking video making rounds online, she had disclosed that she was mutilated while still alive and left in pains before she gave up the ghost.

However, in an interview with newsmen today March 8, CP Alabi countered the claims and said no part of Bamise’s body was harvested.

According to him, he was at the morgue with some members of late Bamise’s family and there was no evidence that her body was mutilated. He however noted that it has not been confirmed if she was raped, but an autopsy will be conducted soon.

Lady involved in singer Timaya’s alleged hit-and-run finally speaks, seeks justice (video)

Damilola Osinubi, the young lady who was involved in singer Timaya’s alleged hit and run, has taken to social media to share her side of the story.

Recall that a few days ago, the “Outside” hitmaker was called out for hitting a lady with his car in the Ikate area of Lagos state, and fleeing the scene.

However, while reacting to the allegation, Timaya noted that the accident was not a case of hit and run as alleged. According to him, he only drove off when four boys aggressively approached his vehicle. He insisted that he wasn’t arrested but was only at the station to give his statement.

The victim, who has now taken to social media to share her side of the story in a lengthy Instagram post, accused Timaya of painting “his wicked act of hit and run with emotion.”

“Timaya Inetimi @timayatimaya you are wicked and heartless. You painted your wicked act of hit and run with emotion. Thank God and others that called you out if not you won’t tender apology to your fan. Your conscience will continue to judge you cause you intentionally hit me off with your green G wagon boasting that you are a celebrity, your lawyer came and sympathize with me in general hospital at about 10:30PM and Your lawyer said this is too much for someone to let it slide. The pains you inflicted on me by your recklessness and no respect for womanhood. The permanent scar you inflicted on me intentionally. All I want is justice as he isn’t feeling remorse because he should not go scot free to serve as deterrent for others.” She wrote in part.

Transgender man gives birth to son after ‘surprise’ pregnancy

A 24-year-old transgender man, Ryan Sanderson, has recounted how he “unexpectedly” gave birth to a son after never expecting to be pregnant.

Sanderson, a drama student, from Rochdale, Manchester, has been in the process of transitioning from female to male and taking hormone treatments for years.

He also believed his now-ex partner was infertile, but despite all this, nine weeks into hormone treatments, Ryan, discovered he was pregnant in 2019, and now has a son named, Hendrick.

“I didn’t believe I could get pregnant when on testosterone, until I found out that I was. I think more trans men need to understand that they can get pregnant. My ex-partner was under the impression that he was infertile, but that wasn’t the case.” He told Metro UK.

In 2021 he continued his hormonal treatments and says he has now finished the course .

“When I found out I was pregnant, Hendrick truly became my everything. My GP was slightly worried about complications, but the course of my pregnancy ran pretty smoothly. Thankfully, I had a wonderful team of midwives that would address me with the appropriate pronouns, and if they made mistakes they would always apologize. Sometimes they’d have questions, and it felt great to be able to answer them without them trying to offend me in anyway.” He added.

Ryan says his ex-partner has told him he won’t be involved in training the child , so he’ll be a ‘baby daddy’ with the help of his supportive mum, Janette.

“Without her, I’d be lost,’ he said. ‘She does so much for both Hendrick and I, and acts like a super-hero co-parent.

My ex-partner doesn’t want to be in the picture, but I’ve got the full support of the rest of my family and friends.’

Speaking about his transition process, Ryan said,

“I’d struggled for so long to become my true self and had even had to go with a private GP in order to get testosterone, I knew that I was a man from the age of seven and came out at 19. Since coming out as Ryan, I’ve felt this freedom that I never felt as a girl, I do things for me instead of what society deems certain genders should do.”

Every time I visit Kano, the reality dawns on me that we operate a one country two system policy in Nigeria – Lawyer Inibehe Effiong

Lawyer Inibehe Effiong

Nigerian lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, has shared the stark difference between life in the Northern part of Nigeria and the South.

Lawyer Inibehe Effiong

Taking to Facebook, the human rights lawyer who recently took a trip to Kano, stated that every time he visits the Northern state, he sees that we operate a ‘one country two system policy’ in Nigeria.

According to him, the North is not as militarized as the South hence the reason why Northerners thought the ENDSARS movement was to remove President Buhari from office.

Read his full post below,

“Goodbye to Kano once again.

Every time I visit this part of the country, the reality dawns on me that we operate a one country two system policy in Nigeria.

Life in Kano is simple.

Lawyer Inibehe Effiong

There are few police checkpoints in Kano metropolis.

You will hardly see policemen harassing people on the road with useless and criminally inspired vehicle checks, questions and braggadocio. This partly explains why many people in the North wrongly perceived #EndSARS as a movement that was designed to remove junketing and incompetent Buhari from power. Their experience with the police is fundamentally different from ours in the South.

The security arrangement at the entrance to the Kano State Government House is very relaxed compared to the insane militarization of the entrance to the Akwa Ibom State Government House.

In Uyo, armored personnel carrier is permanently positioned in front of the Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat. You can’t find such at the Audu Bako Secretariat in Kano. I’m writing based on my observation. I have never seen one. You can correct me.

The security structure at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport is different from what we’ve at the Murtala Muhammad Airport Lagos.

There is more freedom in the North compared to the South. I have been to other parts of the North including Kaduna and Kwara States. I have been to nearly all the States in the South.

We need to address the needless militarization and over policing of the South.

The South East for example has been militarized before the IPOB struggle assumed a radical dimension.

The number of police, military and para-military checkpoints situated between Lagos and Onitsha alone is sickening. These checkpoints are largely used by policemen and soldiers for extortion. I saw this madness last December when I had to travel by road for a friend’s wedding in Onitsha due to flight unavailability.

The checkpoints are needlessly and provocatively close in proximity. Nigerians who cannot travel by air within Nigeria are forced to deal with this monstrosity regularly.

Meanwhile, you don’t see politicians all over the place in Kano moving menacingly with the sort of intimidating convoy and frightening armed escorts that politicians in places in Akwa Ibom move around with.

While at the Airport, this particular Mallam beckoned on me to patronize his decorated shoes. I didn’t yield though I was looking at his shoes. The man left his shoe-stand and walked up to me with some shoes with the hope of persuading me to buy it. I still wasn’t convinced until he offered to sell for me on credit with the understanding that I can send money to him when I reach Lagos.

Because of that singular act, I was impelled to purchase and pay for one of the shoes. I do not know how many vendors at the Lagos airport will trust a complete stranger that way. This has been my experience with regular business people in Kano.

I’m not saying there are no such people in Lagos. But there’s a cultural dimension to the simple disposition of the average person in the North.

I am not in any way suggesting that the living standard in the North is better than the South.

I’m saying that the simplicity of life in the North and the higher professionalism exhibited by state actors, particularly policemen and soldiers, in the Northern part of Nigeria calls for deep reflection and remedial actions. The promises that the Buhari regime made during the #EndSARS protests have been consigned to the dirty dustbin of history.

The more I travel across Nigeria, the more I’m convinced that dividing this country is not the best way to solving our problems. Chinua Achebe had rightly diagnosed the problem. It is squarely that of leadership.

The weaponization of religion and ethnicity by our rogue political elites from the North and South is the greatest obstacle to the progress of Nigeria.

What we need essentially are rule of law, democracy, responsible, accountable and sane leadership with true federalism. If we are able to get these, Nigeria can begin the process of securing a place in the map of civilized countries.

Nigerians Arise.”

 Actress Toyin Abraham slams

Taking to her Instagram page, the movie star tackled the government of Lagos state over the steps they are taking to make BRT buses safe for Lagosian.

She also questioned why the state-owned buses are not fitted with CCTV cameras to ensure the security of passengers, and also add investigation.

The mum of one wrote,

“It is sad enough that Nigeria is not safe but to think that a place or thing considered as property like BRT is now considered a dangerous place should all get all of us concerned. But I have few questions for Lagos State Government, why are the BRT buses not fitted with CCTV cameras? What measure have you put in place since this incident that made you assure Lagosians that the BRT buses are now safe?
Are we truly safe or your speech is just government rhetoric, telling Lagosians, please be careful, we cannot move about like everything is okay. Things are not okay if we are not safe inside government buses.
And to the family of Ayanwole Oluwabamise I sympathize with you. Some of us will reach out to see how you can go through this phase with some measure of ease-no easy way in grieve. May God truly console you.
This is such a sad incident!”

A relative of the deceased took to Twitter to relay the heartbreaking news on Monday, March 7. According to him, Adetayo was accosted by some yet-to-be DSS operatives over the weekend, and was trying to bring out his ID card to properly identify when he was shot at by the operatives.

He was rushed to the hospital and was receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit before he passed away on Monday.

Again, Nigeria failed its own. My God! He was so full of life. An amazing soul to the core. He was always smiling.

I can’t process the fact that I won’t see him ever again. Living in Nigeria is equivalent to walking on a time bomb set to explode the next minute

“The DSS is threatening his elder brother to die (kill) the matter. He was in ICU but died today,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Olaniyi Osoba, has confirmed the tragic incident and said a joint investigation panel has been set up to determine what led to the shooting.

Sadly we lost him this morning. Let me assure you that appropriate action would be taken at the end of the investigation.” he said.

You think you’ve the right to call me cruel? If you had known Ifeanyi, my brother’s wicked friend, you would have known what cruel looks like. Since no Nigerian bank wants to give me, a qualified banker, a job simply bcos I’m positive, then I must continue sharing it to others.

If a guy, girl or so-called lesbian cannot control her sexual urges, I don’t mind giving it to her hundred times over. Easy money for me, pleasure and then a sharing of my pains to others.

He left cut off the relationship after promising me heaven and earth. Depression got to me and I failed some courses in final year. I only managed to make 2.1 later, this was someone who was in very high first class after third year. Now I’ve graduated and can’t even get a job

The church took my wife — Anglican priest says as he resigns from the ministry

A priest of the Anglican communion in Anambra State who has been identified as Rev Canon LumenCristi Eboh, recently resigned as an ordained priest of the church.

Speaking at a press briefing in Awka, on Monday, March 7, the cleric accused some forces in the church of separating him from his wife, and housed her at an undisclosed place.

He specifically accused his diocesan, Bishop Owen Nwokolo, of w!tch-hunt and land grabbing, and an attempt to arm-twist him into making him a member of the board of a ministry he founded privately.

According to him, “As I speak, my wife is living differently in an apartment paid for by someone who knows that she is someone’s wife. I am only a priest permitted by my communion to enter the sacred institution of marriage.

As a married man, I had very private moments with my wife and we shared endearing words just like every young couple. With the crash of my marriage, I have sought to reorder my life, but those fighting me have even sent young women here in an attempt to use prospects of marriage to malign my character and reputation.”

Eboh, a radio and televangelist, noted that his involvement in charismatic activities was at the centre of his confl!ct with the Bishop, who he accused of high handedness, intimidation and conspiratorial manipulations, leading to his decision to resign.

It was rigorous winning her heart – Bayelsa Deputy Governor’s senior aide writes as he shares throwback photo of himself with wife

Clement Ovokeroye Paul, a Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Bayelsa Deputy Governor, has taken to his social media page to share a photo of himself and his wife from 20 years ago to celebrate their first marriage anniversary which was on Sunday, March 6.

According to Clement, he met his wife 20 years ago while running an errand in his village, adding that it was rigorous winning her heart.

In his words ;

It was about this time twenty (20) years ago I mustered courage to ambushed my wife while returning from an errand in the village. Yeah, there were no smart phones nor social media platforms then.

How rigorous it was to win her heart and, the obstacles we surmounted peregrinating to our matrimony nineteen (19) years after, is an interesting story. She can tell the history very aptly.

We made no mistake “walking down the aisle” customarily last year; it’s its anniversary already. And I am very fortunate to have her, so she’s too.

She’s a Queen because she made me a King .

God bless our matrimonial home with all that we desire, to live together forever in love, peace and prosperity. Amen!
