Popular actress, Kate Henshaw has averred that Jesus is the only one she can depend on, not money, fame or other worldly things.
According to her, contrary to how money is regarded, it is not the ultimate solution to everything otherwise wealthy people would elongate their lifetime on Earth with it.
The 49-year-old thespian shared this on Twitter while wishing her followers a blessed day.

A lady has shared her near death experience after she was allegedly adducted by suspected members of a kidnapping gang in Ikoyi area of Lagos state.
Narrating her ordeal amid tears the lady stated that she was returning from Aromire in Ikoyi where she had gone to see her godmother, when she stopped a taxi to take her home.
“I deliberated with the taxi guy, He said N2, 500. He collected N2000 to Agungi because it wasn’t far. I had to squat at my friend’s place because of Lagos traffic so I could get to work on time on Monday.” She said.
According to her, she was the only passenger in the taxi as it was chattered and two minutes into the ride the driver brought out a gun and pointed it at her.
He reportedly placed a call to someone who he referred to as boss and told him he had gotten a prey.
In her words,
“I was wearing a nosemask. I sat in front and then he was the only one in the car. It was meant to be like a charted car. Before I knew it, the guy pointed a gun at me. He called someone and said ”Oga I get person for here. The man told him to put it on speaker. He stopped the car while he was pointing the gun at me.”
The young lady claimed that the man at the other end of the telephone conversation then asked her what is her name and she mentioned it. He then asked her where she was from and she said Akwa Ibom.
She revealed her ‘abductors’ later decided to let her go after they discovered they were from the the same state. The driver dropped her somewhere in Lagos Island at about after 9pm and luckily she saw a commercial motorcyclist who she stopped and asked to take her somewhere safe.
“He now said check her bag. I said I don’t have any money in my bag, that only a few thousand Naira notes and five hundred Naira because I use it for transportation to go to the office.
I don’t know how God confused those people or gave the man sympathy for me. He said ‘close your eyes’ and he was checking my bag. He said what is your password of your phone. I told him my password. I think he typed wrongly. He now corked the gun at me and then after that, I told him that it was a mistake and that he should try it again. I now read the password to him. He opened the phone.
He said I should thank my God that I am his sister, if not he would have killed me and that next time, I should not enter cars that are not registered and that I don’t know.” She added.
A 23-year-old woman has been arrested after her five-day-old baby was found in an 80-foot pit latrine in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County, Kenya.
According to Kirinyaga County Commander, Leah Kithei, the woman was arrested when she went to the hospital where the infant is being treated after he was rescued by officers from the County Fire Service Department.
“The medics who were attending to her son called the police after she showed up in the hospital. We are now in the process of interrogating her, after which we will present her in court,” Kithei said on Friday, July 9.
The Head of Fire Services in Kerugoya subcounty, John Kiama, disclosed that the baby was dumped in a pit latrine used by tea and coffee farm workers in one of the homesteads within Kathiti village in Kirinyaga Central subcounty.
According to Kiama, the farmworkers raised alarm when they heard the newborn crying inside the pit. The fire service department immediately deployed men to rescue the baby. However, they had to destroy the latrine to reach the infant.
“Our office received a call from the owner of the farm that a baby was crying inside the pit latrine used by his workers. We immediately rushed to the scene, where we began to retrieve the baby.”
“We managed to retrieve the infant and quickly rushed him to the newborn unit at the Kerugoya County Referral Hospital where he is responding positively to treatment,” Kiama said.
Fortunately, the baby survived the fall and is currently in safe hands.

Following the death of the veteran Nigerian singer on Sunday, July 11th Princess has penned series of emotional tribute to him as she recalls their childhood memories.

Ghana’s First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo has offered to refund all the allowances she has received since her husband, Nana Akufo-Addo assumed office in 2017.
Rebecca also turned down the offer for her to be paid allowances. According to her, she would not accept the salary arrangements that was recently approved by the country’s parliament for the president’s spouses.
The First Lady in a statement released on Monday, July 12th offered to refund the sum of GH¢899,097.84, a total of all she receive as allowance since her husband assumed office.
The statement read in part,
“The First Lady, in consultation with the President of the Republic, has decided to refund all the monies paid to her as allowances from the date of the President’s assumption of office, i.e., from January 2017 to date, amounting to GHS899,097.84,” the statement said.
“The First Lady has also decided not to accept any monies that have been allocated to be paid to her, pursuant to the recommendations of the Ntiamoa-Baidu committee, as approved by Parliament. She is doing this as a purely personal decision, without prejudice to the rights of others, and not to undermine the propriety of the process undertaken by Parliament.”
Her decision is coming after Ghanaians expressed outrage at the decision by MPs to approve salaries for the wives of the president and vice-president for the supportive role they play.
They were set to receive about $3,500 per month, the same amount as cabinet ministers following a 2019 recommendation by a parliamentary committee.
A young man identified as Ayedun Yusuf has been declared missing, and the family are looking for any available that might lead to him being found.

A popular American Philanthropist has advised parents against giving their kids a smartphone at a very young age.
According to Matt Walsh, If you love your children and care for their well being, you wouldn’t give them a phone till they are old enough to get a job and buy it themselves.

The Ghanaian actress who averred that slimming tea and waist trainer won’t give anyone a snatched body, accused influencers of deceiving their audience to believe they can achieve desired curves with their products.
However, the brand influencer who promotes waist trainers on her Instagram page claimed that her fans tagged her to the post and decided to address it.
According to her, although she felt attacked by the post, she insists that waist trainers are effective as they have been adopted even before now, as far back as the 1800’s.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has dedicated D’Tigers win against Team USA and Argentina to the late veteran singer, Sound Sultan.
The singer, who was well known for his passion and love for basketball, helped develop the game in Festac area of Lagos.
He passed away in the early hours of Sunday, July 11, after a four-year long battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.
On the same day he died, the Nigerian basketball team made history by defeating the United States team 90-87 in an exhibition game ahead of Tokyo Olympics.
D’Tigers also defeated Argentina who are ranked fourth-best team in the world on Tuesday, July 12.
Shortly after the game, NBBF took to their verified Twitter page to dedicate the two historic wins to the late singer.

A Nigerian man accused of romance scam has been arrested after trying to evade arrest by jumping out of a third-story window in Pattaya, Thailand.
The man, identified as Robinson Ibuka Ade, and his partner, a 23-year-old Thai female national, Thidarat Biraban, were arrested for defrauding victims online on July 6.
The arrest took place after some victims in Nakhon Sri Thammarat filed a complaint that they had been defrauded by an Instagram account user, “davilalinda720”, who allegedly claimed to be an American soldier who fought in Syria. The Instagram user would then trick the victim to transfer huge amount of money to his bank account.
At least 40 victims who filed similar reports at Don Mueng Police Station claimed that they were scammed by the same Instagram account and lost 112,000 baht in total.
Following investigation, the police discovered that the account owner was living in a condo in Pattaya. An arrest warrant was issued and they stormed his residence.
The Nigerian and his partner were discovered inside the room. However, he attempted to escape by jumping out of the window but was caught by policemen who were stationed outside the condo.
Upon their arrest, cash of 148,000 Thai baht, 2,000 US dollars, and two ATM cards were discovered and confiscated by Thai police.
According to the police, Robinson was given medical treatment for the injuries he sustained when he jumped out of the window.

In a recent interview with Broadway TV, the actor spoke about his properties and how successful his acting and filmmaking career has been.
According to him, there is no actor bigger than him in Africa at the moment. Speaking about his properties, Zubby revealed that he owns three houses in Lagos, Anambra and Asaba, Delta state.
The 36-year-old thespian also disclosed that he recently made 120 million, but added that he doesn’t pay tithe or do all those “churchy” things, instead he gives 10% of his income to people.
Zubby noted that if anyone sees him throwing money to people, they might not understand but that is his own way of paying tithe.

A lie detector might be deployed by the Lagos state police command as Chidinma Ojukwu has made a U-turn and now denies killing Super TV CEO, Michael Usifo Ataga.
Recall that when the 21-year-old UNILAG student was first paraded weeks ago she confessed to killing the businessman.
Well, in a new development the suspect has now made a U-turn and denied killing Michael Ataga as initially claimed.
In a recent interview with Crime Fighters, she claimed that she had nothing to do with the murder but only found Ataga’s corpse after returning to the service apartment where both of them had lodged.
In her words,
“Before I was leaving, he stood up to lock the door, but when I got in, I was knocking, and when there was no answer, I opened and the door was already opened, as it wasn’t locked; the duvet and pillow were on the floor.
“The couch was facing the door and the bed was stained with blood already. The floor where he was was filled with blood and then music and TV were on. The room was already disarranged like someone broke in, then I saw him on the floor.
“I didn’t know what to do, so I took my things with his things and left. I was afraid; I didn’t know if I had raised the alarm, they would have arrested me for doing it because I and him were just the only people in the room.
“I just left; I was packing my things to leave, then I noticed that my clothes were stained, so I changed to another. I took the bag that contained his ID and documents like bank statements. So, I just packed them and put them into the nylon and left.
“I just did it; it is not like I had something to do with his death. I never had anything to do with his death.”
Reacting to this, a senior police officer said because of the new development, a lie detector could be deployed to ascertain the truth.
The officer said,
“It appears that her lawyers or relatives are teaching her; but this is different from our investigation. This is a fake angle and she cannot dismiss convincing evidence that is already available and recorded, which she herself demonstrated.
“So, this means she is a two-faced person; she tells lies and when the investigation gets to a top level, they will use a lie detector to know whether she is telling the truth or not.”
The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu also stated that Chidinma is exhibiting traits of an active criminal with her contradicting confession.
“That is the trait of an active criminal; she was here, we recorded her. The night she was arrested, we recorded her at the state CIID, even the lady that rented the place to her, we recorded her and we have all that. If she now has an afterthought, investigation will prove that.” He said.
Revered clergyman, Bishop David Oyedepo has declared that he loves every other minister of God but he’s not friends with every one of them.

A Ugandan woman, Jullian Atukwatse, has narrated how she met her husband, Emmanuel Bujjingo, and how God told her to wait for him, despite the fact that he was her friend’s ex.
Speaking in a recent interview with mywedding, Jullian revealed that she met Emmanuel at Watoto Church downtown where they had gone for evening prayers. According to her, she went with her friend, who had come with her boyfriend (Emmanuel) whom she had never met.
“She introduced me to him (Emmanuel) but honestly speaking, I did not like his style and size. I tried discouraging her but she kept on telling me how good the guy was and especially his love for God,” she said.
Emmanuel and Julian’s friend broke up after some time but the two had already become friends. After a while, he started dating another friend of Jullian, which also didn’t last.
“The relationship with the person I was dating at that time didn’t work out for reasons related to trust and infidelity. Despite that, we remained friends with Jullian. There was nothing between Jullian and I not until the relationship I was in failed. I then reconnected with Jullian more than an acquaintance,” Emmanuel says.
Jullian tried to reconnect Emmanuel with his ex but it didn’t work out because Emmanuel had decided to move on.
Emmanuel stated that as much as he liked Jullian for her striking beauty, especially her alluring eyes, her obedience towards God is what swept him off his feet.
Julian, on the other hand, said she was attracted to Emmanuel because of his spiritual maturity, character and reasoning. She added that most people do not like Emmanuel’s principles but that is what she loves the most about him.
“I began to ‘hear’ from God through dreams. God commanded me to leave my ex and wait for him, l could not believe that of all the men out there, God wanted me to wait for Emmanuel. We are happily married and all I can say is that God’s choice is always the best.”
It didn’t take long for Emmanuel to propose because they were already close friends. He proposed before Kukyala without a ring and she said YES because she knew he was the ONE.
“I really waited for the ring in vain. At some point I gave up, thinking that some things were not meant for me. He finally proposed at a friend’s wedding after six months of dating but since I had given up I thought it would not be a big deal but guess what, it was and it still is because every time I look at the photos and videos they make my day,” she shares.
Emmanuel, who was the best man at the friend’s wedding, had already planned the proposal with his friend and his bride.
The plan was to get the bride to hand over the bouquet of flowers to her signifying that she was next in line.
“As they handed her the bouquet, I stood right behind them, they paved the way and there I was down on my knees holding the ring. She almost fainted. Her joyful celebration drowned my carefully chosen proposal speech. I just put the ring on her finger and later on that night I sent her my speech on Whatsapp,” he said.

In a coordinated effort to protest against infringement on press freedom, major Nigerian newspapers published the same frontpage headline on Monday, July 12.
This comes after the Federal Government of Nigeria proposed a controversial press and media Bill which would allegedly limit press rights and freedom.
Major newspapers like The Sun, Punch, Vanguard, The Guardian, Tribune put out the same “Information Blackout” headline.
The protest was sponsored by the National Union of Journalists (NUJ), National Guild of Editors (NGE) and Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN).
It was gathered that the coordinated move will run for two days.
A Nigerian man has been arrested for allegedly beating his wife to death because she refused to have sex with him.
According to a family of the deceased woman who shared the heartbreaking story on social media, the suspect was in the habit of beating his wife, and has called for justice for his late aunt.
He stated that on June 27th, the woman, Mrs Ugieki Asemota returned home from a wedding to find her husband drunk, so she had a bath and locked herself in a room to avoid getting beaten which is allegedly her husband’s habit when he’s drunk.
Later that night the husband reportedly banged on her door asking for sex, she turned him down and refused to open the door.
She feared that her husband could break down the door so she jumped out of her room through the window to seek help, but unfortunately before she could get help he attacked her, repeatedly hit her with planks and block till she bled and fainted.
She was rushed to the hospital where she eventually died by concerned neighbors.

It is indeed double celebration for the Okpocha famly as Elsie is also celebrating her birthday today, July 13.
Elsie took to social media to share the heartwarming news as she revealed that she prayed earnestly for God to bless them with a third child and He has finally done it.
Sharing photos from her maternity shoot, Elsie wrote,

Photos serving rounds online has captured the moment Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu personally arrested traffic robbers in the Ojota area of the state.
Luck ran out on the suspected criminals on Monday, July 12th as they were nabbed while attempting to rob a motorist around Ojota in-bound Alausa.
It was gathered that the machete-wielding suspects were attempting to drag the motorist off his vehicle, when the governor’s convoy arrived the scene.
The security personnel attached to the Governor accosted the suspects, retrieved their dangerous weapons and arrested all three of them.

In other news, the executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said the parents of children convicted of cultism will also be punished.
The Governor made this known while addressing students on Thursday, May 27, during the Children’s Day celebration at the Police College, Ikeja.
Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, said a new law had been signed to fight cultism and it includes punishment for parents of wards convicted of cultism.
