VIRAL VIDEO ON ALLEGED DAMAGE OF TRAFFIC OFFENDER’S FINGER BY LEKKI PATROL TEAM- FRSC CLARIFIES
The attention of the Federal Road Safety Corps has been drawn to a trending video recently being circulated online, showing one Muyiwa Akinbola, air traffic offender, who claimed his finger was damaged by FRSC patrol team in Lekki, Lagos State during the course of his arrest for violating established road traffic regulations.
As a public friendly organization, we consider it expedient to bring to the notice of the general public, the true picture of what transpired during the arrest.
The investigation revealed that Mr Muyiwa Akinbola was apprehended on Wednesday, 3/02/2021 for Use of Phone While Driving (UPD).
Upon other checks carried out on the vehicle, it was discovered by the patrol team that the vehicle had no number plates visibly displaced at the appropriate spot on the vehicle.
With the growing rate of car theft recorded on our roads in recent times, the team pressed on him to ascertain the status of the car. When confronted about the vehicle registration, the offender got infuriated and series of arguments ensued after.. which he left to the bank to pay his fine thinking that could stop the necessary investigation into the status of the car.
When he came back to secure the release of the vehicle, he was further interrogated about a Commercial number plate (KTU 116 XY) purportedly belonging to the vehicle, placed on his dashboard to which he offered no explanation.
The checks carried out by the Command also revealed that the Number Plate belongs to another vehicle entirely which raised the bar for suspicion and gave the officers reasons to doubt the ownership of the vehicle under reference.
Seeing that he could not provide required proof, the offender left in anger & came back with his friend, wife & baby & impressed on the wife to make the trending video, claiming that his finger was injured by the personnel & threatened to attack the command with Mobs.
To ensure effective display of justice, CM, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi has directed the Lagos State Sector Commander to carry out thorough investigation, with a view to reveal the crux of the matter & forward the outcome of such investigation to the National HQs for necessary actions.
In the same vein, as an organisation that does not harbour any form of indiscipline, and unprofessional conducts in its operations, the entire team involved in the case have since been recalled to the Lagos State Sector Command for interrogation.
Members of the public are therefore advised to continue to believe in the transparent system of the Corps, as the outcome of the investigation & actions taken will be communicated as usual to the public
American entertainer, Diddy is suing his former clothing company, Sean John for using his image, likeness, and persona without his permission.
A $25 million lawsuit was filed by Diddy against his former clothing brand, Sean John, and the company’s new owner Global Brand Groups USA, according to All Hip Hop.
According to a complaint filed last Thursday, Sean John, which has launched a new women’s clothing line with the brand Missguided, used the mogul’s image, likeness, and persona without his permission.
The Hip Hop mogul founded the company in 1998. He sold stakes to GCG USA in November 2016 for an estimated $70 million and still owned 20 percent, according to Forbes.
In the lawsuit, Combs claims that the companies fabricated quotes in an article that made it seem as though he endorses the Sean John x Missguided clothing line. His image was also included in a 40-second video campaign in promotion of the new collaboration.
Jonathan D. Davis, Comb’s lawyer, says he disapproves of using his image to promote a brand he no longer wishes to be associated with.
“He does not challenge GBG’s right to use the Sean John trademark, but rather GBG’s decision to leverage a fabricated quote they created and then falsely attributed to Mr. Combs,” Davis said. “And to use Mr. Combs’s name and other monikers to create the false and misleading impression that Mr. Combs is the decision-maker behind the designs and creation of the GBG Collection.”
He continued, “Sean John, GBG and Missguided are using the unapproved material, which contains false or misleading representations of fact, to promote and sell the items in the GBG Collection because they understand that associating it with Mr. Combs will significantly increase sales and profits.”
This isn’t the first time Combs has battled with the clothing brand. Last month, Combs accused the owners of using his “Vote or Die” slogan on SeanJohn.com.
This comes a month after Diddy reportedly filed his first lawsuit against Sean John over the trademark for the phrase “Vote Or Die.” He alleges that Sean John and GBG have illegally used and trademarked the phrase and was selling merchandise bearing the slogan during the presidential election.

A Nigerian self acclaimed evangelist, Chukwuemeka Obijofa has opened up on why he killed his wife of 5 years and their 4-year- old son.
The 28-year-old man revealed he killed his wife and son with a shovel after he found out that she’s been cheating on him for long.
The suspect who was paraded before newsmen on Saturday February 6th at the Police headquarters in Amawbia, confessed to killing his wife and son in Ofufe Nza village in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State.
“I opened my eyes in the police station and found out that I’m responsible for killing my wife and my son. I killed her out of anger after I found out that she’s been cheating on me for long. I didn’t believe it because of the level of love and trust I have for her.
“I came back from work and found out that the food they have was not enough for them. I stepped out to collect money from a client so I can get something for them.
“But when I came back later, I discovered she wasn’t alone at home. She was with two men that I don’t know. When I tried to enquire who they were, she asked me to keep quiet that she would explain later. She later took me to the room for explanations.
“Before I could come out, the guys have left without informing us. I became angrier. My wife was trying to calm me down but I couldn’t bear it due to the level of love and trust I have for her.” He said.
Obijofa who stated he lived happily with his late wife for five years, revealed the Indian hemp he took shortly after to pacify his anger, triggered his action.
“As I was about to leave, I told her that I’m leaving the house for her and her boyfriends who she’s preferred and more comfortable with.
“I went straight to where I took some hemp to calm myself and feel relieved. But unexpectedly, I found out that the hemp even made it worse that I lost my conscience. I couldn’t behave like a human being again.
“It became obvious to me that another demon or extraordinary spirit has possessed me. Besides, nobody was around to control me. I didn’t know what else that happened till I opened my eyes to find out that I’ve killed my wife.
“I was ordained in 2012 as an evangelist. If I pray, it comes to pass. But when I began to fall out from God’s mercy, my pastor warned me that a day is coming when I’ll face the consequences. He said his God didn’t want me to pay the supreme price.
“But I couldn’t believe it until today I’m giving this message to those it has not happened to. Please, whatever government declared contraband, especially hard drugs, please steer clear from them. It has a way of impacting another spirit in you.” He added.

In a statement on Sunday, February 7, Osita Nwanisobi, Acting Director, Corporate Communications, clarified that that the CBN circular of February 5, 2021 did not place any new restrictions on cryptocurrencies.
According to Daily Trust, he said, “The use of cryptocurrencies in Nigeria are a direct contravention of existing law. It is also important to highlight that there is a critical difference between a Central Bank issued Digital Currency and cryptocurrencies. As the names imply, while Central Banks can issue Digital Currencies, cryptocurrencies are issued by unknown and unregulated entities.
The question that one may need to ask therefore is, why any entity would disguise its transactions if they were legal. It is on the basis of this opacity that cryptocurrencies have become well-suited for conducting many illegal activities including money laundering, terrorism financing, purchase of small arms and light weapons, and tax evasion.
Many banks and investors who place a high value on reputation have been turned off from cryptocurrencies because of the damaging effects of the widespread use of cryptocurrencies for illegal activities.
The role of cryptocurrencies in the purchase of hard and illegal drugs on the darknet website called “Silk Road” is well known. They have also been recent reports that cryptocurrencies have been used to finance terror plots, further damaging its image as a legitimate means of exchange.
More also, repeated and recent evidence now suggests that some cryptocurrencies have become more widely used as speculative assets rather than as means of payment, thus explaining the significant volatility and variability in their prices.”
