Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Alex, racked up a loss on Friday after getting robbed in Abuja alongside a friend.
The reality show star shared a video from the scene of the incident, revealing that she lost so much but has moved on from that.
She wrote;
Was robbed yesterday alongside princessdaprada, a lot lost but more to gain in the future as life goes on .
Filmmaker and organiser of the Abuja International Film Festival, Fidelis Duker, is not happy that popular cross dresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, is being featured in Nigerian films. He stated that much on his social media page during the week.
Clarifying his position in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Duker said, “We should not glamourise such things. We have children who are growing. As a father, these are not the kinds of things I want my children to learn. It is alien to our culture. I don’t see any reason why a man would dress like a woman. Some people defend him and say he is only ‘acting’, but as for me, it’s not appropriate.
“For those who have featured him (Bobrisky) in their movies, they are only exploiting his popularity, especially on social media. They are not using him because he is a fantastic actor. It’s not good enough that we celebrate mediocrity. There are a lot of cases of rape and other vices now, and it is because of things like this. We need to understand that our moral values are very important to us. I expect that the movie industry should be a platform where morals, values and ethics should be the focal points. Unfortunately, what you find in most of the films is that they celebrate immorality.”

President Buhari has made a phone call to Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, whose daughter, Funke Olakunri, was killed by armed men along the Benin-Ore expressway on Friday July 12th
The President condoled with the grieving nonagenarian, wishing him the comfort of God, and fortitude to bear the great loss. He also assured that security agencies would spare no effort to apprehend the culprits, and bring them to justice.
Pa Fasoranti thanked the President for identifying with him and his family at their time of travail, praying that God will restore peace and amity to the country.
On Friday, President Buhari sent a condolence message to Fasoranti.
The President prayed that God will comfort Pa Fasoranti, and give him the fortitude to bear the grievous loss.
A mild drama played out in the Big Brother Naija House last night, after Esther turned down Frodd’s relationship proposal.
Frodd had in his appeal to Esther, claimed that she has so much control over him and he’s got nothing but respect for her which is why he wants an intimate relationship with her. He was heard saying;
“Hold me down when I want to lose it. Those times I want to throw tantrums tell me to shut up and I’ll listen. If anyone says it I won’t listen. You are the only one that can do that. I talk a lot; I need someone to counsel me.”
Responding to his plea, Esther said;
“I don’t understand what you mean by when you want to lose it. You can find someone else to counsel you; it doesn’t necessarily have to be me.”
However after Frood started crying, Esther added “I will go and bring tissue, please don’t cry before I come back.” She walked out and returned with a tissue for him to wipe his tears, which he took.

President Buhari has said that the Nigerian Armed Forces and their allies are winning the war against terror.
Addressing Graduation Ceremony of Senior Course 41 at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Jaji, President Buhari, commended the collaboration with neighbouring countries in the fight against Boko Haram terrorists, noting that the effort was crucial in decimating the enemy.
“Many of the security threats faced by Nigeria are trans-border in nature. That is why the West African sub-region and indeed the African continent must step up the level of military cooperation that currently exists amongst us. I am sure you are aware of the collaboration of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Republic of Cameroun, Niger, Benin and Chad in a multinational operation to decimate Boko Haram terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin and other regions.
The effort is laudable and has continued to yield positive results, as the war on terror is being won on all sides. I want to assure you that Nigeria, in partnership with our allies, will not relent until terrorists are completely decimated,’’ he said
The President assured that the Federal Government will continue to give priority to the training and welfare of officers and men of the Armed Forces, including the eminent institution, established to train tactical and operational level officers on the tenets of staff work and command.
The Nigerian leader used the occasion to appreciate the Armed Forces for prompt responses to the numerous security challenges facing the county.
“Your response to Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, militancy, kidnapping as well as activities of separatists and armed militias among others have been very commendable. The Nigerian Armed Forces have also committed huge resources towards stability of the West African sub-region and world peace in general” he said
The President told the 207 Senior Course 41 graduates that the nation expects the best from them in terms of commitment to duties, loyalty and service to the fatherland given the time and investments expended on their training.
He expressed delight that the prestigious college had 13 international officers from 11 African countries and the Republic of Korea, who successfully completed Course 41, an improvement on Senior Course 40, which had 11 international students.
The President also commended the management for introducing media awareness packages in its training in order to sensitize officers on the importance and methodologies of utilizing information and media actions in support of military operations.
President Buhari welcomed the modernization drive in the military institution, evident in the establishment of an e- examination centre and rejuvenated library facilities.
The President also praised the college for reviewing its curricula to build the capacity of student officers to become more proficient in military operations that are better situated to addressing Nigeria’s current security threats.
In a game gone wrong, Ike got into an accident leaving him with a cut above his eye. While running around playing with Jackye, our Pepper Dem playa and resident gangsta suffered a mild cut that had the rest of the Housemates immediately rushing to his aid the moment he yelled out in pain.
Doctor Frodd
He might be an investment Adviser and Sales Executive, but when a fellow Housemate needs medical assistance, ‘Dr’ Frodd is there on the scene. On seeing Ike’s cut, Frodd rushed immediately to his rescue alongside Jackye, Kim and other Housemates to apply first aid to the cut.
Missing in Action
Surprisingly, Mercy was nowhere to be found when the accident happened. Neither was she at Ike’s side while he was being attended to by the rest of the Housemates. This was quite unusual especially as we were just celebrating them as couple goals. Could Ike spending time with Jackye for the better part of the day have caused this mild tension between the two to the extent that she couldn’t spend time to be by his side in the moment of need?
Guilt Trip
Feeling guilty for being partly responsible for Ike’s accident, a visibly shaken Jackye was spotted in tears shortly after. She refused to be consoled even after Ike himself came to plead with her.

One of the sons of Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the Afenifere leader whose daughter, Olafunke Olakunwas was shot dead yesterday, has narrated how the incident occurred.
Speaking to newsmen in Akure, the son of the socio-cultural group leader said his sister’s vehicle was ambushed around Ore town on her way to Lagos after visiting their father. According to him, his sister was hit by a bullet when they tried to escape and died after she was rushed to the hospital. He said;
“I just came back to Akure with my sister’s body tonight from Ore town. She was on her way to Lagos after she left baba (Pa Rebeun Fasoranti) house Friday morning. Her vehicle was ambushed around Ore town. The gunmen started shooting at them at the Ore expressway and the driver had to quickly turn back but unknown to him there are some of them in the bush along the other side of the road.
“They shot at the tyres of the SUV she was travelling in along with other persons. There were five people in the car, a driver, herself, a cook and two of her nephews. Sadly, she was hit by a bullet and was rushed to a hospital but she lost too much blood and she died minutes after.
“By the time the police would respond, about 30 minutes later, the gunmen had gone back into the bush. They ran after hearing the sound of the patrol van. Nobody was kidnapped inside her own vehicle. Although, those who were wounded were rushed to a hospital and have been checked by doctors and they are fine.”
This came after the Presidency came under fire, over its statement which alleged the murder incident was carried out by armed robbers.

A Kano State Primary school teacher’s plan to marry a second wife, had him gruesomely scalded by the hot water his wife, Lauratu Ahmad, poured on him.
According to reports, the distraught wife had been given money by her husband, Mallam Aliyu Ibrahim Fayan-Fayan, to buy some things for herself in consolation over the wedding.
Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has stated that the present administration invested N900 billion in the power sector since it took over from the last administration in 2015.
Osinbajo revealed this during his courtesy visit to Chike Edozien, the Asagba of Asaba, on Friday. Noting that one of the problem in the power sector is that Distribution Companies (Discos) control a particular territory, the Vice President stated that the Buhari Government is working towards resolving the challenges.
”Since assumption of office, we have invested so far in terms of support N700 billion in the power sector. Earlier, we invested N200 billion,” he said.
”And now we are saying that any company that wants to provide power to any territory, should be able to provide power for the territory and the people. We have been able to break the existing monopoly in the power sector. Whether upgrade or not, the DisCos should be able to serve the people. Another strategy we are trying to introduce is to open up the power sector by restructuring”, he added.

Few days after Nollywood movie producer, Abiodun Jimoh denied the allegation of sexually molesting Instagram comedian, Lizzy Jay a.k.a Omo Ibadan, the actress has revealed why she went public with the allegation.
According to Lizzy Jay, she spoke up because she felt the need to give a voice to others caught up in same experience.
“I alleged that he molested me sexually. For the record, when the whole thing started, I informed my family and a few older people in the industry about it. They asked me to keep calm and move on. If I wanted to institute an action then, I would have (done so).
“I felt I needed to be at peace with my mind as regards the issue, and to give a voice to whoever is suffering or has suffered the same fate as mine, hence the outburst. Like I said on my Instagram page, the molestation of a woman is a desecration of her values. Rape trend or not, we all have our ways of addressing issues peculiar to us.
“For the record again, I maintain my stand and I reiterate all I have said without any equivocation, save for the fact that I do not intend to do further than I have done so far, having found my peace, and because of the intervention of some persons I respect like Mr Latin and Mr Yinka Quadri.
“However, if anyone feels he has been defamed by my outburst or allegation, let him seek redress and I will furnish the right quarters with my evidence,” she told Saturday Beats.
Also recounting her experience as part of Jimoh’s movie production team before her exit, she admitted that it was an interesting phase for her. She said,
“I would be a hypocrite if I say working with him for few months was not interesting. A lad with quite a sonorous voice has warmed the hearts of many on social media after he was videoed singing to one of gospel artiste, Tope Alabi’s song.

Two suspects, both identified as Basiru Abdullahi and Martin Adekola, both from Oja Funi area of Ede, Osun State, have been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for being in possession of human skulls.
The suspects paraded alongside 53 others for various offences including armed robbery and cultism, were on July 11 arrested after being unable to give satisfactory account of the human skulls they were in possession of.
Speaking to newsmen, Commissioner of Police, Mr Shina Olukolu said,
“On July 11, 2019, at about 1600hrs patrol team attached to Ikoyi Ile/Ogbomoso road led by inspector Benjamin Olayiwola intercepted Abdullahi Basiru and Adekola Martin both of Oja Funi Area, Ede, Osun state with two human skulls.”

“Since the time I told her about my plan to marry another wife, I did not see any change of attitude from her and we had been living together peacefully. In fact, she promised me that she would be among those that would buy the wedding items for the bride,” he said.
“Last night after I returned home, I bought some meat for them. I met her boiling the water, but I had no idea what she was going to use it for,” he added.
The whereabouts of the lady who has 10 children with her husband is currently unknown, as it was gathered that Ibrahim is currently receiving treatment at the Danbatta General Hospital where he was rushed to by neighbours.

Nollywood actor, Nicholas Babajide Ogungbade was a theatre chief and telecaster – he passed away on Tuesday, July 9th in Lagos after battling with an undisclosed ailment.
The family reported his end in an announcement marked by Pastor Niyi Gbade and Ayotade Ogungbade.
Here’s a few facts about the veteran on-screen character, Jide Ogungbade;
He was brought into the world on August 21, 1952, in Minna, Niger State, the local of Akoko-Ikare in Ondo State.
He worked for more than two decades as a dramatization maker with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria currently Radio Nigeria
He filled in as a coach at the Radio Nigeria Training School, Oshodi, Lagos.
He was a multi-skilled craftsman, who was additionally an artist, dramatist, vocalist and music arranger.
He coordinated the renowned Ajo Productions arrangement of plays, which started in 1983 and finished in the Ajo Festival of Plays in 1986.
He was the associate choirmaster of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, District 6 (Ayo Ni o) situated on Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Lagos.
He is survived by youngsters, grand kids and relatives.
Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, Muhammad Babandede, has said many illegal immigrants living in the country will soon be deported as the Service is set to commence issuance of residence permits to foreigners in the country.
Disclosing this at the passing out parade of 396 cadets in the 44th Superintendent Basic Course held at the Immigration Training School in Kano, Babandede said NIS will begin the deportation exercise in the next three months.
“With present security challenges facing this nation, the only options left for the service is the issuance of permits for all foreign nationals living in the country as a measure to curtail insecurity issues.
“Therefore, in the next three months, the service will commence issuance of residence permits to foreign nationals residing in Nigeria and anybody who failed to possess his own before the expiration of the stipulated time for the permit issuance faces deportation,” the CG said.
He added that the 44th set is the second to be trained under the newly developed training curriculum drafted by the 30 professors engaged by the service, stressing that the present NIS is an IT-driven service that attached high premium on digitization.
“The service is gradually conforming with international standard requirement as it is IT-driven; therefore, it is equally very important to state here that the service has obtained presidential approval to establish e-base immigration system where the service will be able to share security information with other security agencies in the nation,” Babandede added.

Two brothers have been jailed for trying to assault a murderer who pleaded guilty to the killing their mother – Dale Williams, 62, admitted to fatally shooting Elizabeth Pledger-Stewart, 46.
On June 15, 2017 he crashed his van into Ms Pledger-Stewart’s car and then shot her several times as she got out of her vehicle. The night before the killing, Ms Pledger-Stewart filed a police report in which she claimed Williams had threatened her.
After pleading guilty to fatally shooting the deceased, as he was waiting on his sentence at Mahoning County courtroom, his victim’s sons lunged at him just before the victim’s daughter was due to make a statement.
A video of the incident shows pandemonium breaking out in the court as the two sons charge across the room at Williams.
Court staff stopped the brothers and restrained them before they reached Williams. The brothers still threw blows at the convict and police had to user a taser on them.
One of the brothers screamed out, saying,
“He killed my mum. He killed my mum. She take care of me bro. Nobody else did.”
The brothers were cuffed and taken away. They will serve 30-days in jail for contempt of court, Wtap reported. Although Williams’ sentence was delayed he is facing 23 years to life in prison, according to WFMJ.
