Brazil’s football club Chapecoense was almost wiped out in a devastating plane crash in Colombia last year.
The club has signed 27 new players to replace those tragically killed for the new season, and one of the 3 survivors of the crash got to meet them and give them some words of advice.
The southern Brazilian club were en route to Medellin to face Atletico Nacional in the final of the Copa Sudamericana when their jet hit a mountain, killing 71 people.
Centre back Helio Neto, pictured above and fullback Alan Ruschel survived, as did reserve goalkeeper Jackson Follmann, who had part of his leg amputated.
Neto attended the presentation on crutches, where he chatted to the youth players who have been
called up to the first time in the wake of the tragedy.
Reports say the club reserved shirt numbers for two of the survivors in the hope they can play again.
26 year old Peace Orukari is from Kalama compound, Sabageria, a Community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
She drives tricycle a.k.a ‘Keke’ to raise money for her education. The young entrepreneur entered into the business due to how tough life has been for her and her family.
Peace had struggled to finish secondary school selling recharge cards and hawking oranges.
Speaking to BodmasNews, Peace says that she still lives with her parents and her younger ones and since she went into entrepreneurship, life has been more easy for them.
When asked what pushed her into all of this, she explained that while in secondary school, there were challenges of finance to register for WAEC and other fees, she then went to some big politicians she knew as community leaders then, but they demanded sex before they could help her.
Seeing that she could not stoop herself so low, she began hawking oranges and selling recharge cards which she did for about five years, supporting her family with it.
The income was not still enough as she also wanted to further her eduction to the university, Peace then met one of her customers who buys cards from her, a keke driver, and pleaded with him to teach her.
At first he was reluctant but he later did.
After she had learnt, she then made moves to get a “KEKE” where she could submit returns after use, which she did and since then, has been driving it.
She further narrated that driving the “KEKE” has helped improve their conditions, her younger ones were now comfortable, they could pay their rent without difficulty and she was also saving for her education.
When Bodmasnews asked Peace Orukari about her challenges driving the keke, her reply was that she needed funds to get her own Keke. Apart from that, she had no other challenges.

In a recent chat with Saturday Beats, his elder sister, Tessy, couldn’t comment much about Agwu’s health condition but said, “Nigerians should give glory to God for his life.”
However, Tessy confirmed Agwu is still in the States and not back in Nigeria as many had assumed.
When probed further if the comedian could talk, walk or when he would be back, all she said was, “we give God the glory.”
Such a reply would not come across as a shock to many who have been following the comedian’s trajectory. Ever since his first brain operation in 2015, the comedian and his family members became very spiritual.
It became more evident during his shows where he tilted more into the word of God than perform the comedy he is known for.

So shaken is the mother of two, she said she struggles to even speak about what happened.

A great-grandmother from Brazil has accidentally been praying to a figurine of Elrond, and elf from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, after mistaking it for Saint Anthony, the late Portuguese priest and patron saint of lost things.
Gabriela Brandão, a make-up artist from Florianópolis, Brazil, made the discovery last week and posted a series of photos of the Elrond figurine on Facebook. She wrote:
“My daughter’s great-grandmother prays to this figure of Saint Anthony every day, but looking more closely….”
Gabriela had noticed that something wasn’t right about the figurine, so she started doing some online research. She managed to find an exact replica on an online store, which listed it as Elrond, an Elven character from The Lord of the Rings fantasy universe.
But trying to explain the mix-up to the great-grandmother actually took a bit of effort. Gabriela told Buzzfeed:
“We tried to explain right away but she didn’t understand at first. The next day we explained again and she understood and we got her a new figure of Saint Anthony.”
Gabriela’s Facebook post went viral almost instantly, with over 3,700 shares on the social network, and hundreds of funny comments.
It was also picked up by dozens of international news outlets and even got the attention of actor Ian McKellen, who played Gandalf in the blockbuster trilogy The Lord of the Rings.
“A woman in Brazil has apparently been praying to Elrond, thinking he’s Saint Anthony. She’s found herself a new idol,” he wrote on Facebook.
Elrond, in Tolkien’s Middle Earth, is the lord of Rivendell, the elvish kingdom. In Sir Peter Jackson’s trilogy, he is portrayed by actor Hugo Weaving.
Saint Anthony was canonised in the year 1232 by Pope Gregory the Ninth, and is widely known as the patron saint of lost people and the recovery of lost items.

A young man who resides in Awka, Chinonso Ikezulumba, won N10million in an ongoing Airtel promo and fainted during the cheque presentation.
According to Joseph Akelicious who shared the story yesterday, when Chinonso was invited to the firm’s Awka office to pick up his cheque, he thought everything was just ‘story’ until the Airtel guys brought out both the dummy and real cheque.
Chinonso fainted but came to after some minutes.
He said that he is a petty fashion goods trader at Nnewi but that his business has since collapsed. He had prayed to God over the Christmas to give him N10M to start his business again and just like that, the money came via Airtel promo.
He was accompanied to the Airtel office by his mother and two sisters and said he plans to get married in May, and that he had already planned it before the Airtel windfall.

A UK student who has been dubbed as “Kazakhstan Barbie” has lashed back at Muslim critics in her homeland who slammed her because of her latest collection of sexy social media snaps.
According to Daily Mail, Dinara Rakhimbaeva, 21, is studying finance at the University of Nottingham and loves flaunting her perfect body in sexy lingerie on social media.
The 5-foot 9-inch student has a tiny 22-inch waist, measures 34 inches around her hips and weighs 7 stone. And her social media photos usually show her in lacy black bras, panties and lacy camisoles.

Uber is being sued over a rogue driver who allegedly beat the crap out of his passenger and left him for dead.
According to TMZ, the whole thing went down back in December – the passenger, Joseph Fusco says he requested an Uber to take him on a 9 mile ride to his home to Cherry Hill, NJ. In the lawsuit he’s filed against Uber, Joseph says the driver refused to drive him there.
Joseph pleaded, but says the driver got pissed, dragged him out of the car and beat him senseless … breaking multiple bones in his face, knocking out teeth and leaving him in a pool of blood in the cold.
He thinks there’s surveillance video showing him unconscious as the driver stomped him.
Adding insult to injury, Joseph says the driver charged him for a 28 minute ride — and Uber has refused to ID the driver for investigators.
Sources connected to Uber said the company dropped the driver as soon as the incident was reported, and contrary to Joseph’s suit, is fully supporting the investigation., TMZ adds.
