The abductors of Chief Olu Falae have reportedly reduced the N100 million ransom they earlier demanded to N90million, an aide said yesterday, Tuesday, 22nd of September, 2015.
The aide, who spoke on the condition of animosity said in Akure that the abductors called the family on Monday night and agreed that they could bring N90 million.
The Nation reveals that the source, however, said the family had raised N2 million. He said the negotiation was still on between the family and the abductors.
“When they called us on Monday night, they said they could only reduce the ransom to N90 million, but we cannot afford that.
“We begged them to take N2 million but they rejected it; they said they would call us back today but as at this moment, they have not called,”
the source said.

Muslims in Ekiti yesterday defied the directive of some of their leaders not to collect Sallah gifts from Governor Ayo Fayose, as they trooped to the government house in Ado Ekiti to collect the rams distributed by the governor for Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
This contravened the order earlier issued by Muslim leaders, under the auspices of League of Imams and Alfas, Ekiti State, which urged members to reject the gifts on the strength that their members were not adequately represented in Fayose’s appointments.
Though, another group had countered the League of Imams and Alfas for that action, describing those behind the attack as impostors, who were not known in Islam circle.
While distributing the rams to Imams and other top dignitaries, Fayose said he won’t allow himself to be dragged into playing politics with religion in the state.
The governor urged Muslims to prevent themselves from being used as instruments of politics by desperate politicians, who are bent on maligning his government at every slight opportunity.
In his words:
“I won’t allow anybody to drag me into playing politics with religion. What I am doing today is a demonstration of love and support for the Muslims. I am not that kind of a leader who does things with religious interest.

Daily Trust Reports that A 17-year-old girl names Chidinma Ugwu, has been apprehended bu the Police in Kubwa, a Satellite town in Abuja, for allegedly dumping a day-old baby girl she gave birth to at a refuse site at Phase 2, Site 2, in Abuja.
Reports have it that Ugwu was brought from her home town in from Enugu State to work as a housemaid for a family, was able to hide the pregnancy till she put to bed all by herself and to dispose of the baby, had wrapped it inside a nylon bag and carefully lowered it behind their compound through the wall on to the refuse site.
A neighbour who spoke to newsmen, said when people noticed her protruding stomach after some months and asked her about it, she said having big tummies was hereditary in her family.
“Some of the neighbours even advised her to engage in physical fitness exercises in order to trim down the protruded tommy,” the neighbour said.
On the day she put to bed, it was gathered that when she went into labour, she quickly sent the children of her madam away, locked herself up in the room, and delivered the baby all by herself.
She then cut off the placenta, flushed it in the toilet and cleaned herself up and the entire room.
According to the neighbour, her madam came back later and noticed that her protruding tummy had gone down considerably and that she was still going about her household chores.
But Ugwu’s secret was revealed when the new born baby was later discovered by a neighbour who raised an alarm and the police were alerted. The residents of the area put two and two together and told the police to question the girl and she confessed that she was the one that dumped the baby.
The baby was handed over to Ugwu’s mistress while she was arrested.
The Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nurudeen Sabo, confirmed the incident and said that investigation is ongoing.
The same incident of child abandonment occurred on August 28, when a one day old baby was found abandoned in a bush in Barwa village along Airport Road in Abuja.
Also in the month of July, residents of Akala Street in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, were thrown into a state of shock and surprise when they woke up to discover the decomposing body of a new born baby which had been dumped in a gutter in the area.

If you can be buying us doughnuts and soft drinks, we would be very grateful’. He started laughing, so I quickly added, ‘sir, it’s not only me o. My colleagues are also involved, so please don’t tell our boss’.”
Indeed, Tatafo’s move paid off as her future husband laughed it off after which he reached into his pockets and gave them ‘something’ for lunch.
“We were so happy I asked for his phone number which he gave me. And then I gave his number to my friends and we all started calling to thank him. He realised that we really desired the doughnuts and soft drinks so whenever he came by, he would give us money for doughnuts and soft drinks. He never failed to deliver whenever he showed up and we never stopped thanking him. And then one day, he took a good look at me and said ‘baby, I love you’ and the rest is history.”
