Nigerian singer and music executive, Davido has reacted after his former signee, Yonda, apologised for betraying him.
You will recall that in 2021, Yonda, who was formally signed to Davido’s record label, Davido Music Worldwide, a.k.a. DMW, announced his exit from the label.
At the time, he accused the DMW boss of violating him and said he decided to leave because things were not working for him there.
In another interview, he claimed that his song was the cause of the beef between his ex-label boss, Davido, and Burna Boy. Read here.
He, however, recently made a U-turn and apologised to Davido for betraying him.
He posted a screenshot of the apology message he sent to Davido on his Instagram page and pleaded for his forgiveness.
In the chat, Yonda asked the DMW boss to temper justice with mercy and not leave him hanging because he has been blacklisted from the industry.
“Baddest, don’t leave me hanging. Please, let me rise again,” he wrote in part.
Reacting, the 30BG boss, who has been severally hailed by fans and colleagues for his good heart, said he misses Yonda and was greatly hurt by his actions.
Asake’s London concert had to be cancelled last night after a stampede that occurred after people tried to force their way into the venue without tickets.
The popular singer, who is currently on his UK music tour, was set to perform before thousands of his fans at the O2 Academy Brixton in London when the chaotic incident took place.
The police confirmed that four people have been hospitalized and are in critical condition due to the crush, while several others suffered varying degrees of injuries.
According to a statement released by Lambeth Police, they were called to the scene around 9:35pm on Thursday night, December 15, and discovered that a large number of people were trying to gain entry into the venue.
They further stated that they have commenced investigation into the tragic incident, and will leave no stone unturn to uncover what truly transpired.
The police statement reads;
Detectives are investigating the circumstances which led to four people sustaining critical injuries in Brixton.
Police were called at 21:35hrs on Thursday, 15 December to the O2 Academy on Stockwell Road, SW9 following reports that a large number of people were attempting to force entry to the venue.
“Officers, London Ambulance Service (LAS) and London Fire Brigade attended and found a number of people with injuries believed to have been caused by crushing.
“Eight people were taken by ambulance to hospital, four of whom remain in a critical condition. LAS treated two other less seriously injured people at the scene.
“An urgent investigation is under way led by detectives from Specialist Crime. Cordons remain in place at the location as officers continue work at the scene. Nobody has been arrested.”
The Metropolitan (MET) Police Gold Commander, Ade Adelekan, who also confirmed the incident, said,
“This is an extremely upsetting incident which has left four people critically ill in hospital. My thoughts and prayers are with them and their families.
“A police investigation has been launched, and it will be as thorough and as forensic as necessary to establish exactly what happened last night. The scene will be examined by specialist officers, CCTV will be viewed, every witness that we can make contact with will be spoken to and all other lines of enquiry will be followed.
“Officers are remaining in the area to provide reassurance to the local community in and around Brixton. If you have any information or concerns, please speak with them.
“I am aware of video being shared on social media. I would ask people to be sensible about what they share, and not to post material that will be upsetting to those affected by this incident. Where force has been used by police officers, those officers know they have to be accountable for their actions. The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards will view all material, including Body Worn Video footage from the officers at the scene. In relation to a clip being widely shared, I can confirm that no police dogs were deployed to the location.”

Popular singer, Sina Rambo’s estranged wife, Korth, says she has been subjected to death threats since she called out her husband for alleged domestic violence.
Recall that Korth, who tied the knot with the singer in October 2021, went online on Monday, December 12, to accuse her husband of being violent, and attempting to sleep with their maid.
She also claimed Sina Rambo, who is the son of the incumbent governor of Osun state, is financially incapacitated that she has to support him with cash occasionally. She also posted a screenshot of the payment she made to his account as proof that he is broke.
However, Sina Rambo has since come out to debunk claims that he physically assaulted his wife, via a statement released by his legal representative.
Following the messy drama, Korth has taken to social media to reveal that she has been receiving death threats for calling out her husband.
As a protective measure, Korth announced that she’s a German citizen and if anything happens to her or her child, the German embassy will take over the case.

A High Court sitting in Enugu state have sentenced a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Jude Ozuogu, and his wife, Ifeoma, to 13-years imprisonment for child abuse.
The couple were arrested by the state police command in July 2020 for physically assaulting and maltreating their 10-year-old househelp, Nneoma Nnadi, at their home in Aku in the Igbo-Etiti Local government area of the state.
Neighbors who lodged complaint against the couple alleged that they subjected the victim to serious torture because she allegedly made their baby fall to the ground.
Nnandi was said to have carried her madam’s child to pet her to sleep around midnight, when the baby mistakenly dropped to the ground.
Though the baby didn’t suffer any physical or internal injury, the couple allegedly pounced on the maid and burnt her skin with a hot pressing iron.
The also drilled a nail into her head, inserted pepper into her vagina, and locked her up in a toilet for failing to do the dishes.
Fortunately, neighbors who overheard her cries, rescued and rushed her to the hospital for treatment.
They also alerted the police who arrested the couple and charged them to court on a 3-count charge bordering on inflicting grievous harm, administering noxious or poisonous substance, and employment of a child as a domestic worker.
The presiding judge, Justice A. C. Ogbuabor of State High Court 10, while delivering his judgement, sentenced the couple to 13 years imprisonment each.
On count one – Inflicting grievous harm, the court sentenced them to 3 years imprisonment. On count two – administering a noxious or poisonous substance, the court sentenced them to 5 years imprisonment, and on count three – employment of a child as a domestic worker, the court sentenced the couple to 5 years imprisonment.
The court however ruled that the period the convicts had been detained after their arrest should be deducted.
“All sentences shall run concurrently,” the judge ruled

Late Gospel singer, Sammie Okposo’s wife, Ozioma, was devastated and couldn’t control her tears at the burial ceremony of the late singer.
Sammie, who died in his sleep at the age of 51 on Monday, November 28, was laid to rest on Thursday, December 15, in Lagos state.
He was buried at a private cemetery in Ikoyi, Lagos, after a funeral service officiated by the lead pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, and lead pastor at The L.O.G.I.C (Love Of God In Christ) Church Dr Flourish Peters.
At the cemetery, the bereaved widow of the late singer, Ozioma, was inconsolable as she wept profusely when the customized casket with Sammie Okposo’s name was being lowered into the ground.

The funeral rites of the veteran singer kicked off with a farewell praise party in Lagos on Tuesday night, December 13.

The new governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has revealed his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, took an N18 billion loan after the July governorship election in the state.
On Thursday, December 15, Adeleke told traditional rulers in Osogbo that the state is in debt to the tune of N407.32 billion.
According to him, there was no detailed record of how Oyetola spent the loan he received before or after the election.
Adeleke stated that his government inherited eight credit facilities, as well as a pension and debts, with payback terms ranging from 16 months to 28 years.
In his words;
“My good people of Osun state, the total loan stock as at today is N331.32 billion. If the N76 billion debt on salaries and pension are added, the state is indebted to the tune of N407.32 billion . The amount owed to contractors is yet to be determined.
The only fund in government coffers, as at Monday 29th November, was for November 2022 Salary. Otherwise, the state treasury was empty.
As your governor, I will ask questions on your behalf and will demand for answers. Governor Oyetola must explain how the N331 billion borrowed in the name of Osun state was expended, with no obvious infrastructural development to justify this huge debt.
Governor Oyetola must explain how the N18 billion bridge loan taken after he lost the election on July 16, 2022, was expended.
Governor Oyetola must also explain why Osun state is owing salaries & pension to the tune of N76 Billion after collecting a N50 billion salary bail out Loan from the federal government
The creditors, especially the Commercial Banks must explain why various loans were given to an administration beyond its 4 year tenure. 28 years is equivalent to the tenure of at least four Governors.
A child that is born today would have earned a PhD at 28 years of age. This is nothing but mortgaging the future of Osun state with nothing to show for it. This is definitely not acceptable.”

In a viral video, Mr Ibu, his brother and his Wife who went viral for taking care of him on his sick-bed, were seen on the altar as he gave his testimony.
John Okafor revealed that it had been a boy from his family who had poisoned him and his brother because he wasn’t happy with his prosperity.

Popular Nigerian singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe professionally known as Ayra Starr, has confessed that she had always desired to be a teenage popstar, which explains why she dresses the way she does.
The 20-year-old Nigerian popstar explained in a recent interview with Guap Magazine that one of the reasons she dresses the way she does is to encourage young people to feel empowered when they see her.
In response to a question about whether she considers herself an Afrobeats Gen-Z ambassador, Ayra Starr said that she does, citing how she does so through her music.

A viral video shows the heroic moment concerned neighbors stepped in to save a lady who attempted to take her own life after being dumped by her boyfriend.
It was learnt that her boyfriend broke up with her after five years of dating, which left her distraught and heartbroken that she wanted to end her suffering.
She then ingested different types of drugs in a bid to end her life following the heartbreak. Fortunately for her, some neighbours were around and did their best to revive her.
In the video shared online, the lady who was seen sprawled on her bed was seen being fed with palm oil by the good Samaritans to neutralize the effect of the drugs.
She was also made to sit up as they patted her back and encouraged her to vomit the substance in her stomach. The different tablets she took were also seen on the floor of her room.
However, the location and date of the incident is currently not known.

In an apparent reaction to such comments, Paul rolled out photos of some trolls with the caption, “Wanna take a moment and appreciate trolls who call people ugly.”

A well-travelled Nigerian model, identified simply as Akinmade, has averred that Nigerian banks are the most advanced in the world.
He took to Twitter to make this assertion on Wednesday, December 14, stating that people who have travelled round the world will appreciate Nigerian banks more.
He went further to point out the areas Nigerian banks are doing an exceptional job as against banks in other continents.

Taking to the microblogging platform on Tuesday, December 13, she said it should be considered illegal for parents to name their children until the child decides on the gender pronoun they want to adopt.
According to Claire who has over forty thousand followers on Twitter, children should be assigned with numbers instead of names, until they are old enough to choose their gender.

The lady apparently underwent the surgical procedure to reduce her forehead because she wasn’t comfortable with how prominent they were.
