Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has received two new nominations for the 2023 Grammys.

The recording Academy released nominees for their upcoming 65th edition on Tuesday, November 15, and Burna Boy secured two mentions for his “Love Damini” album in the area of Best Global Music Album and “Last Last” in the category of Best Global Performance.

Burna Boy will compete against other artists in the Best Global Music Performance category, including Arooj Aftab and Anoushka Shankar for “Udhero Na,” Matt B and Eddy Kenzo for “Gimme Love,” Rocky Dawuni with “Neva Bow Down” by Blvk H3ro, Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode (Bayethe).

For the Best Global Music Album category, the Nigerian singer battle it out with Berklee Indian Ensemble (Shuruaat), Angélique Kidjo and Ibrahim Maalouf (Queen of Sheba), Anoushka Shankar, Metropole Orkest, and Jules Buckley featuring Manu Delago (“Between Us … (Live), and Masa Takumi (Sakura)

With these nominations, Burna Boy now has six Grammy nominations overall and one Grammy win for the album Twice As Tall in the Best Global Music Album category in 2021.

Controversial twitter doctor, Dr. Peking has stirred reactions from netizens after explaining why mosquitoes attack humans.

According to the doctor, the insects only attack when they are pregnant and need blood to make their eggs grow, killing them meant ending an entire bloodline.

His post reads ;

“Mosquitoes do not bite you just for fun. They bite because they need your blood for their eggs to mature. When you kill mosquitoe on your skin, you are killing a pregnant mosquitoe and destroying her entire lineage but you don’t care about this. You only care about yourself”

Nigerian music icon, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has taken to his social media page to share a nasty message he received from a female fan.

Taking to his Instagram stories on Tuesday afternoon, the father of four shared a screenshot of a message from a female fan pleading with him to let her get her bra back.

According to the lady, the bra was her favourite, and she’s desperate to have it back.

Blackface, in a post shared on his Instagram page, accused the entertainers of sampling his song ‘Twist and Turn’ in their featured song ‘Ginger’, off Wizkid’s 2020 album, Made in Lagos.

Sharing a video snippet of the song he claimed they copied, Blackface said they should have asked for permission before sampling his music. He however urged Wizkid and Burna Boy to contact him privately.

Ghanaian actor, Emmanuel Nii Adom, popularly known for his role as Strika in the 2015 Netflix film, ‘Beast of No Nation’, has been captured selling coconut on the street of Ghana for survival.

In a video showing the current condition of the one-hit wonder actor, he is seen hawking coconut from a wheelbarrow on the street.

After the video went viral, Quaye, who is obviously struggling to make ends meet, appealed to his countrymen to come to his aid.

This is not the first time his predicament is made known to the public as in 2018, news made rounds that he was begging on the streets of Ghana for survival.

At the time, he said, “After the movie, I was to be paid 1% of the profit ($30,000) made from the movie. They told me it’s in the bank but I am yet to see the money”.

Speaking in a recent interview on Funny Love Radio, Quaye said things have gone from bad to worse for him, and people will cry if they see where he sleeps.

When asked how he spent the money he made from ‘Beast of No Nation’, he said the money never got to him and he was forced to return back to the street to hustle for survival after the movie.

He further appealed to movie producers to cast him in movies, skits or even short comedy series because he is a good actor.

The boyfriend gifted her the new device by pulling a prank on her with the help of his friends who were present.

A Nigerian woman, identified as Patience Sopuru Davidson, was sentenced to one month in prison for alleged negligence in the United Arab Emirates.

A Twitter user @Chetexxx5, who claims to be a relative of the embattled woman, took to the microblogging platform to raise alarm about her predicament on Monday, November 14.

@Chetexxx5 said her younger sister who works as a caregiver at Al Ain Center for Care and Rehabilitation Center of Disabled in Abu Dhabi was jailed for spending 30 minutes in the bathroom which led to one of her students cutting his ear.

According to @Chetexxx5, Sopuru was supposed to complete her jail sentence on October 15, 2022, but they have not heard anything from her since then.

She wrote,

“Salam halaikum, I want to bring to you notice about my younger sister who is a caregiver at Al-Ain center for care and rehabilitation, on the 15th of September 2022, we got a message from her ex colleague that she was arrested for staying 30 minutes in the bathroom and one of her students cut his ears by himself,” the tweet reads.

“She was taken to the police station in Al-Ain and immediately jailed for a month for her negligence, October 15th is believed to be a month, till date we have not heard from my sister, the HR are not replying us

“Her passport was seized, no call, messages from the HR to we her family till date, and every attempt to hear from my sister is blocked by their female supervisor who from day one has sworn to frustrate her in that job. My sister’s name is DAVIDSON PATIENCE SOPURUCHI. Please help,”

The former Senior Technical Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on Media, Monday Kenneth Eze and his wife, are celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary today, November 15.

Mr Eze took to his Facebook page to mark the milestone and shared seven principles that has kept their marriage for 19 years.

He said he and his wife keep minimal secrets from each other, they know their respective phone locks, e-mail passwords, ATM pins, and bank account balances.

According to Mr Eze, who share six children with his wife, they intentionally chose each other and vowed to keep their friendship alive.

Going into marriage was our willful decision and in taking the decision, we respectively confessed and laid out our true characters and dispositions, comprising the good, the bad and the ugly on the table. 5. As a follow-up to 4 above, we made forgiveness, penitence and humily important ingredients of our daily lives. Hence, for us, no offence is too big to be forgiven, but the forgiven must terminate the offence and make necessary amendments.

6. We also closed all gaps and have minimal or near-zero secrets between us: We know our respective screen locks, e-mail passwords, ATM pin numbers, our friends, bank accounts and their balances, locations, what makes each other happy and so on.

7. We have never involved a third party in our marriage; but we have never made hearty discussions and resolutions difficult.”

Ozonna, one of the sons of Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has declared his support for the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi.

This is coming after his father said Peter Obi doesn’t stand a chance in the 2023 presidential election. According to Soludo, Peter Obi knows ‘he can’t and won’t win’ the election, and he’s only playing a game which they are all aware of.

Soludo also rubbished the investments Peter Obi made during his tenure as the Governor of Anambra State, claiming that the investment is valueless and currently worth next to nothing.

Few months ago, Blackface also accused Wizkid and his former record label boss, Banky W, of sampling his songs.

This follows the interview Banky W had with popular TV host, Ebuka Obi-Uchenda, on Bounce Radio where he disclosed that Wizkid signed a 5-album deal with his record label, EME, but only did two before exiting the label.

The interview caused a huge buzz on social media as fans of the Grammy nominee go all out to defend their fave, and dug out a video where Wizkid said he left the record label with zero naira.

A South African man has openly admitted to having HIV and explained why he won’t be apologizing to the people he infected.

In a trending video, the young man who revealed he’s HIV positive detailed how he spent his money buying clothes, drinks, and wigs for the women he had intimate moments with.

Noting that he was not born with HIV, he claims to have had sexual relations with different women. He says that as a result of his philandering ways, he doesn’t know who in particular infected him with the disease.

He, however, noted that he has not deliberately infected anyone with HIV since he discovered his status.

In related news, a heartbroken woman has taken to social media to narrate how she contracted HIV from her cheating husband.

The mother of one who shared her ordeal in an emotional TikTok video said she decided to get tested due to her husband’s incessant cheating habit, which she kept forgiving him for, and sadly, the results were positive.

She stated that for four years, she had to put up with one cheating scandal after another, until she decided to take another test after delivering their first child.

Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has set tongues wagging after revealing how much money he receives from his lover as allowance every month.

The Male Barbie, in a series of posts on his Snapchat handle while replying to a fan who called his lover “stingy,” reveals he receives $17,000 from his boyfriend every month.

Giving a breakdown, the self-styled billionaire girlfriend says he receives 7,000 dollars for just feeding, another 5,000 for hair, and yet he still receives money to fuel his car and for random shopping each month.

Bobrisky displayed bundles of N500 notes and a stack of $100 bills in an envelope, which he claimed his lover gave him to use to pay the salaries of his employees.

“How much is d monthly feeding money your boyfriend give you monthly ? Mine is $7k . He’s not dear, feeding money alone is $7k Hair is $5k monthly Fuel and shopping is $5k, lf a man I don’t have kids for he’s spending dis monthly i should be grateful”, he wrote.

A South African man, identified as Bakhe Dlamini, has said he has never cheated on his wife in their twelve years of marriage.

The marriage counselor, in a post shared on his Facebook page, said he prays he doesn’t fall into temptation and cheat on his wife because he knows the consequences of infidelity on a marriage.

Speaking to married couples who are affected by cheating, he said there’s hope for them if they are willing to make their marriage work.

Bakhe shared a photo with his wife and children and wrote,

“Been married 12 years, have never cheated on my wife. I pray it stays that way, because I know the effects of cheating. On a daily basis I attend to couples that have been impacted adversely by cheating,”

“The consequences are dire. It takes a lot to build or restore trust after cheating. Self-styled relationship expert, Blessing Okoro has disclosed that she spent over N3 million on her liposuction procedure.

Recall that the controversial influencer underwent the surgery in June 2022 and shared daily updates about her recovery online.

Speaking in a recent chat with media personality, Nedu, on “The Frankly Speaking Podcast”, where they discussed the topic, “Is body enhancement a reaction to insecurity?”, Blessing disclosed that she did her surgery in the Lekki area of Lagos.

Speaking on her experience going under the knife, the mother-of-two said she specifically told the doctor that she didn’t want a very big bum as she wants her old clothes to still fit.

She added that she documented her liposuction journey on social media because she reckoned that people who knew her in the healthcare facility could leak photos and videos of her vulnerable moments online, and she wanted to be the one to tell her story.

A Nigerian man has narrated how he got married to his longtime female friend after his marriage of three years ended.

Taking to Twitter, the man identified as @lanredanielys on the platform said that six years after his first marriage packed up, he went into a relationship and eventually tied the knot with the lady who had been his friend all along.

He said they are happily married and declared that marrying her was the best decision of his life.

Popular Nollywood actress, Adanma Luke, has taken to social media to raise alarm about veteran actor Hanks Anuku’s wellbeing.

An alleged disturbing video of the veteran thespian walking and acting suspiciously recently surfaced online, with social media users alleging that he’s having trouble. However, his colleague, Shan George, immediately debunked the claim.

“4 yrs I kept in forgiving a cheating husband and it resulted me from taking ARVs for the rest of my life. I was married and faithful to my husband. I got pregnant and went for my first clinic and I tested HIV negative. I willingly went for another test when my baby is 1 yr old and I tested positive,” she wrote.

Mama Jazz, the sister of late Bimbo Ogbonna, has taken to social media to mourn her one month after her passing.

Recall that Bimbo, the late wife of popular Lagos businessman, Ikechukwu Ogbonna aka IVD, died after she was incinerated during a domestic fight with her husband in October this year.

Though the circumstances surrounding her death are controversial, her relatives have made several claims and accusations that IVD was the one who pushed her into the flames and was directly responsible for her death.

Taking to her Instagram page to mourn her demise one month after the tragedy, Bimbo’s sister insisted that the mother of five was ‘murdered in cold blood’ and that ‘justice must be served’.

She shared a photo of Bimbo and wrote,

YabaleftOnline reported that the Nigerian police have arrested IVD following the incineration and death of his wife, Bimbo.

IVD who was accused of physically abusing her throughout the duration of their marriage and allegedly shot her sometime last month has been taken in by the police.

The Public relations officer of the police force, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, took to his Twitter account to announce that IVD whom his family claimed to be on the run, was already in custody of the law.
