“Motherhood has been very lovely but being a single mother has been very challenging. There is a huge difference between being a mother and being a single mom. When you are a single mom, you have to do everything yourself, you have to be the mother, father, driver, teacher, name it” she told Punch.
Additionally she explained, “If you don’t have a help, you have to switch on the generator, drop and pick the child from school; it is crazy. You have to help her with her homework and if I have to travel, I would have to bribe my secretary to stay in my house for some nights so that she can help my daughter with her homework.”
Monalisa was formerly married to Segun Dejo-Richard crashed in 2009. They had a child together, a 7 year old daughter.

According to her:
“Motherhood changed everything about my life, and largely in ways that I didn’t expect. It was a whole new experience. I was amazed at the instant bonding and how natural it felt to be a mother. It is the most rewarding, beautiful and joyous thing imaginable in this world and I wouldn’t change anything.”
A close friend of Oyelowo Oyediran Ajanaku, the 38 year old Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife graduate, killed by his lawyer- wife on 2 February in Ibadan, has thrown some light on what transpired before the tragic crime of passion, that has triggered shock waves, nationwide.
From the story, Yewande clearly intended to kill her husband, having stabbed him at two separate occasions, same night, with the last stabbing with a knife, on the neck, a fatal one.
Lowo Oyediran Ajanaku: before he was killed by his wife, Yewande
Oyelowo Oyediran Ajanaku Popularly called LOWO a successful Nigerian businessman was resident in Paris (France) up until 2014, before his return to Nigeria to settle down with his wife, Yewande Fatoki Oyediran- a lawyer working as a Principal State Counsel at the Ministry of Justice Oyo state Nigeria.
He hailed from Osun state Southern Nigeria. He attended Olufi High school- Gbongan Osun state, Lagos State Polytechnic and then proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife Osun state Nigeria and further had his MSc from Grenoble Business School, France.
The Oyedirans
February 2nd seemed like a regular day or so I thought until I got a text message that Oyelowo was dead.
I called his sister in-law (Temitayo) who happened to be my very close friend to confirm and on hearing her wail on the other end of the phone, I discontinued the call. Confused and in shock, I dialled her number again. In tears and with a shaken voice, I asked how it happened. Then she narrated the ordeal amidst tears.
“Last night Lowo and his wife Yewande had an argument in their Akobo home in Ibadan, where they reside, over his proposed business trip scheduled for later in the week. Lowo was to travel to Europe for business purposes and then stop over to visit his child (from another woman) who’s also living in Europe with the mother.
“This didn’t go well with Yewande I suppose and the squabble continued into late In the night. In the process Yewande stabbed her husband Lowo on the shoulder missing his heart by just few inches.
“Their neighbour-the Landlord intervened in the matter and took Oyelowo to a nearby hospital for treatment as he bled profusely. After treatment he was released to return home and instructed to rest as he had lost a lot of blood. On arriving home, the Landlord’s son offered Lowo his room to pass the night. But he declined the offer stating clearly that ‘all was fine as he trusted his wife and believed she didn’t mean to harm him’.
“Few hours later, a shout was heard again: it was the cry of a man in agony. Oyelowo was battling for his life, blood gushing out of his neck and mouth. His wife Yewande had used a knife to stab him once again, unfortunately it was in the neck, a very delicate part of the body. He was whisked to the hospital where he was certified dead on arrival”.
“Oyelowo Oyediran Ajanaku was 38yrs old when his wife Yewande Oyediran,Nee Fatoki, stabbed him in the neck with a knife which ultimately led to his untimely death.
“I Met Lowo in Obafemi Awolowo University during my undergraduate days. He was a proud African man and he always said it with pride that he was a GBONGAN man.
“Describing Oyelowo in simple terms, I would call him a “Good man”, kind, jovial or rather say he’s a Jester, easy going, fun loving and absolutely peaceful.
“Lowo had always portrayed the characteristics of a good man to the society and has successfully brought foreign investors to Nigeria such as Aller Aqua a Denmark based company ( Aller Aqua produces fish feed for freshwater and saltwater aquaculture) .
‘He is always there to support anyone that needs help. All he wanted was for people to be happy around him. He was a Positive Impact to the Society. In over 10 years of knowing and relating with him I can’t seem to find any fault in him. Everyone loved being around him, he had charisma. His death has left a massive vacuum in the hearts and lives of his loved ones. He would be greatly missed by his family, friends, associates and loved ones.
“We want the world to know because as I write to you, the Family of the wife (the Fatokis’) are doing all in their power to see that this case is covered up. We want Justice to prevail, a grievous crime has been committed. We want the law to take its full course.
“This could have happened to anyone, anywhere across the universe. A crime is a crime irrespective of location, race or persons involved, this is a massive test on our judicial system as the world watches the outcome of this through global media.”

Following the birth RudeBoy records and signing of Muno to the label, Paul Okoye of Psquare has revealed why the brothers are doing business individually.
In an exclusive interview with Naij.com on Monday, February 8 at their Omole residence, Paul maintained that Psqaure remains intact but it was time for each of them to try out things independently without hurting the Psquare family.
He said he decided to sign Muno immediately he heard him so as not to repeat missed opportunities he had with some artistes in the past.
He revealed that he had missed opportunity of signing artistes who are now stars just because he wanted them signed unto Square records.
“When they brought Muno to me, I heard his voice, I accepted him immediately because I no wan hear say he don blow tomorrow and I don miss again (general laughter).”
He further explained that Square records had missed opportunities of signing several artistes.
“When Jude brought Cynthia Morgan I was in support of it, but my brother (Peter) wasn’t comfortable with it but Jude doesn’t want that kind of stories anymore so he went on his own. We don’t want to experience the kind of experience we had before because the problems we will start resolving might even start affecting us. Now, some of us are now like, ‘if to say we know we for allow this girl join us o in Square records’.
Asked if he regrets not signing Cynthia Morgan to Square records, he said; “It’s not only Cynthia Morgan, there is somebody I regretted, Phyno. That’s exactly what I was trying to explain to you earlier. I had the opportunity, he was in my front but because I wanted him on Square records and I couldn’t get it. He’s still my guy sha.”
Probed further, he stated that he missed the opportunity of signing 9ice, Kiss Daniel and other music stars.
“Dem plenty. I first had 9ice, i tried to convince my brothers. Everyone like him o, but then we were working on our Do Me album. The first artiste I would have signed to Rudeboy records was when I heard Woju on radio. I call him Woju (Kiss Daniel). I called everyone but we couldn’t get him. Music is spiritual, once you have that feeling, just move.”
Paul who is currently promoting the two singles released by Muno, No regrets and slow slow, said he is sure of achieving success with Rudeboy records and Muno.
He equally added that Psquare will return with two or three new singles in 2016.

Charley Boy has released an article he wrote on the story of Olajumoke Orisaguna who was helped getting a modeling career by ace Photographer, Ty Bello
Checkout the article below…
Am sure you all know what I’m talking about precisely. Yes, you’ve heard about it but just in case you didn’t get a hold of the full gist, here you go…. Recently, TYBello, a Nigerian recording artist and photographer, was having a photo-shoot with an American music star called Tinnie Tempah.
She had chosen to pitch her set on the streets of Lagos so as, according to her Instagram post, to showcase the beauty of her Lagos rather than be confined in some hole. While on the shoot, a bread seller from Sabo market strayed into the shot. Upon realizing what damage she could have done, this bread hawker became confused, perhaps a little scared, especially with boos and jeers from people who asked her to quickly get out of the set.
Alas, TYBello, the photographer, signaled her to walk back into the set and asked for her photograph to be taken and she obliged. TY had seen, through her lens, diamond though very much in the rough at this time.
When I saw the pics on TYBello’s Instagram page, I was pleasantly surprised to know the bread seller concept was not pre-scripted. Kudos to TYBello for her ingenious shots. The effect of these photos was so overwhelming that the scout for this ‘Waka Pass’ model began. Finally, she was found.
She is Olajumoke, 27year old mother of two: a boy of 5 and a 2year old daughter. She can’t write or speak a word of English, she communicates in Yoruba. Though she’s not literate, today, she shares the coveted ThisDay Style Cover with the likes of Dangote, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, A’List Socialites and Celebrities, the Creme de la Creme of society, From a most indigent background, Olajumoke left Osun State where she was a hair dresser, to come to Lagos in search of the Golden Fleece, hawking bread 7times a week with a profit of 200 naira daily.
Even with two children, she didn’t fold her hands and beg for hand-outs, she hawked her way into her destiny. She was the Golden Fleece that TYBello was going to search for. In no time, with a make-over, the gold in her is brought to fore and shone in her pictures that have gone viral on the internet.
TYBello has proved with this story that we can create positive movement for one another without waiting for government (government should play their role though). It’s obvious that most of the people who walk around the streets have gold in them, they are all waiting on a gold digger to dig it up. Nobody is ever useless, no matter the condition you find yourself,no condition is permanent, as long as you are not lazy.
This is the moral of Olajumoke’s story. People pray to God to meet them at the point of their needs but they need to know that God is waiting to meet them at the point where they are making use of that which is in their hands. Hard work and tenacity will always win “it” for you. Opportunities are all around us everyday but we seize them (or not) by time and chance.
Ex beauty queen is back on Instagram and she has posted her first photos a week after she got her account deleted as a result of marriage split from her billionaire husband of one year, Prince Sunny Aku.
Two days to the release of his album, Kanye West has changed the name again.
The original title, So Help Me God, was announced back in 2014, and almost a year later altered to SWISH. That seemed to be set, until a few weeks ago when Kanye made another change, this time to WAVES.
And now, Kanye who revealed that WAVES actually may not be the title few days ago took to his Twitter account, posting a photo of himself in the studio, revealing that the final title will be T.L.O.P.
He followed that up with another tweet saying that anyone who can figure out the meaning of the acronym will win tickets to his Yeezy Season 3 show, along with a free pair of Yeezy’s.
Stereotypes are natural and we are all stereotypical in our everyday interactions – knowingly or unknowingly. I attended Kings College Lagos and I recall that the first day I entered class maybe I should say on ‘my’ first day of school (cos I joined the class a little later than the rest) I got into a fight…immediately. So I was brought to class and introduced to my classmates.
Everything was going well until the first teacher came to deliver a class and asked me my name and I told her Audu Maikori and she said ‘oh Audu Ikoyi?’ And everyone started laughing. I watched them a little pissed that they found the teacher’s deliberate mispronunciation of my name funny.
So after the class ended, one of the boys in my class walked up to me and asked ‘so you are a Mallam?’ in a jeering manner.. I can still remember the smirk on his face. And I replied ‘No I am not a Mallam , I am a northerner from Kaduna State‘ and the guy said in a slightly raised tone ‘abeg go jo! You are just a Mallam and you are……’ Before he could finish I full stopped his sentence with a punch!
That’s how a fight ensued! Sadly I didn’t finish with him before we were quickly separated and arraigned before the class teacher’s office. The other teachers were just surprised that the ‘new boy’ got into a fight on his very first day in school. We were both punished and moved on with our lives thereafter.
The boy grew up in Lagos and what he said was a reflection of what he was heard or was taught .. He knew no better, you see the impression in those parts are that all northerners are illiterate, bush and only good as gatemen (security guards). ‘Mallam‘ was a derogatory term to describe people from the part of the country -where I am from.
Sadly not much has changed. Nigerians are all very stereotypical and this applies to all tribes. The Igbos love money, Yoruba people love parties while Calabar people are only good as cooks. We are still judged based on where we are from and not where we are going.
How can we grow if our first assessment of people is based on stereotypes that have no real basis beyond pre-loaded bias?
I am not holier than them but having grown up around Yoruba people and marrying from the east of Nigeria I tend to judge people on their own personal record not on what people say about them … I feel you need to see beyond the label, test all theories and presumptions. I am as detribalized as is possible under our circumstances.
Finally it’s convenient to think that northerners are all ‘gatemen’ or Security Guards because they aren’t smart enough to go to school or get more ‘prestigious’ jobs… But that’s the old North, that’s changed so much and will continue to change in time .
But have you ever considered that the other reason that northerners were largely in the position was that they are generally very bold and will show loyalty and commitment and ensure your house or building is secure even at risk to their lives? That they are more trustworthy than those from other parts of the country?
Yes and some of you will say it’s a lie they aren’t, it’s just an impression people have! Some of you will even say you know people from other tribes that are more bold and loyal who do a better job than these so called northerners Abi? Yes I agree but that’s my point exactly … It’s stereotype and I think that’s another way to look at it positively .. thats if we decide that we must be stereotypical….
