South African rapper, AKA and his girlfriend who also happens to be his baby mama, DJ Zinhle have decided to part ways.
Zinhle broke the news on her website on Wednesday.
She said:
“After a great deal of thought, reflection and discussion we have decided to end our relationship of three years. We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it,” the couple said in a statement.
“We both wish nothing but a great future for each other and remain dear and trusted friends as well as co-parents to our wonderful baby Kairo, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority. We both deeply care for each other and remain close friends.”
AKA recently paid damages to Zinhle’s family for fathering a child with her without marriage, as required by the Zulu custom.
A 67-year old pastor and grandfather, Felix Adebayo, has been nabbed by operatives of the Edo State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 10-year old girl in Ubiane community, Aviele, Etsako West local government area of the state.
The suspect who was arrested on Thursday last week, was paraded on Tuesday at the Command’s headquarters in Benin, alongside 35 other suspects arrested for various crimes.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Stephen Onwochei, who paraded the suspects, said the detained cleric unlawfully had carnal knowledge of the little girl when she was sent to collect a mobile phone from his apartment.
“He carried the child and started whatever he felt like doing,” Onwochei said.
However, Adebayo who claimed to be a pastor, confessed to his crime, but blamed the act on the handiwork of the ‘devil’.
“I have a wife. I do not know what happened that led me to insert my hand in her private part. It is the devil,” he said.
Earlier while addressing journalists in his office, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Samuel Adegbuyi, announced that a total of 117 suspects were arrested between July and August for various crimes.
A breakdown of the figure shows that 35 suspects were apprehended for armed robbery; 20 for kidnapping; 33 for cultism; 10 for unlawful possession of firearms; 6 for murder and 13 for rape and defilement.
Adegbuyi who commended members of the public for giving useful information to the police in its effort to combat crime, assured that officers and men of the command are ready to confront and tame an expected rise in crime in the ember months.

A landlord in the Idumota, Lagos Island area of Lagos State, Sola Solomon, has allegedly poured petrol and set fire to one of his tenants, identified simply as Abeeb, aka Ogbon.
It was learnt that as the victim struggled to put out the flames, the 67-year-old landlord pushed him down from the top floor of the three-storey building.
The father of one was said to have landed with a thud, as the flames ate through his body. It was gathered that Abeeb had barely spent five months in the house located on Iga Idunganran Street, Idumota, when he was killed.
PUNCH Metro reported that the incident was caused by a disagreement over the use of the compound toilet.
A tenant in the house, who spoke on condition of anonymity, explained that the quarrel had been settled in the evening and she had pleaded with both parties to maintain the peace.
“Before the incident of yesterday (Monday), there has been a quarrel in the house over the use of the toilet.Everybody had complained that the landlord always messed up the toilet after use.
“But yesterday, he had another quarrel with the Abeeb over the use of the toilet. During the argument, he threatened to set the man ablaze; the man also dared him.
“I called Abeeb and calmed him down; I also called the landlord and appealed to him to let the matter go, and he said he had forgiven Abeeb.”
The landlord, however, was sighted by residents later that evening carrying a jerrycan, saying he was going to buy fuel. The Ondo State indigene was alleged to have bought the fuel and waited patiently in his room till the victim returned from a football viewing centre where he had gone to watch an European league match between Arsenal and Liverpool football clubs.
It was then gathered that around 12am, the landlord wet the passageway of the house and knocked on the door of the deceased. Another tenant, who asked not to be named, said the victim’s wife pleaded with him not to go out. The continuous rap on the door was said to have forced Abeeb out to confront the intruder, only to see the landlord with a container of fuel.
He said,
“As he stepped out of the house, the landlord poured the petrol on him. Before Abeeb could snatch the jerrycan from him, the landlord had ignited fire with a lighter in his hand.Abeeb struggled to put out the fire, but the landlord pushed him down from the third floor. He fell to the ground and died.”
The publication gathered that the quick intervention of security guards in the area stopped the fire from escalating. The other tenants in the house were said to have abandoned the building and fled for fear of being killed.
It was learnt that policemen from the Adeniji Adele Police Division later arrived at the scene to remove Abeeb’s corpse. The police also took the landlord, who sustained burns injuries to the hospital.
A resident, John Ameh, said the landlord was initially rejected at the Lagos Island General Hospital and was taken to the Gbagada General Hospital.
The former occupant of Abeeb’s room, Ruka Rufai, regretted passing the room to the deceased, saying she left the room due to constant threat to her life from the landlord.
“I left that the room about five months ago. The landlord threatened me, so I decided to vacate the room. Abeeb pleaded with me that he needed the accommodation. Now, he has been killed.”
One of Abeeb’s friends, who did not want to be identified, expressed doubt that the suspect would face justice. The friend, who claimed to be in the same football academy with the victim, said he was shocked when he learnt about the incident on the Facebook wall of a mutual friend.
The publication was told that grief-stricken friends of the victim had planned to set the house ablaze, but could not due to the heavy presence of security agents.
A resident, Habib Suleiman, urged the state government to pursue the case against the suspect to a logical end and seize the property.

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the withdrawal of police orderlies from unauthorized persons. The president gave the directive last week when he met with the Ministry of Police Affairs, NAN reports
A statement yesterday by the Police Service Commission (PSC) said Very Important Persons (VIPs) not entitled to police orderlies should look elsewhere for security cover.
According to a statement by Head, Press and Public Relations of the Commission, Ikechukwu Ani, a high level monitoring team had been deployed at the airports, highways and other public places to enforce the directive.
The statement quoted the Chairman of the commission, Mr Mike Okiro, as saying that the team had the powers to stop VIPs’ on the highways and airports to confirm their status.He said any erring VIP or policeman caught in such unauthorized beat would be prosecuted.
He stressed that henceforth only authorized government officials and VIPs’ will be entitled to police security. Okiro noted that the nation could not be battling with inadequate Police personnel while majority of these scarce officers were in the service of few privileged Nigerians.
The chairman warned that the commission would not hesitate to discipline any police officer who flouts the presidential directive by hanging onto these VIPs’ for pecuniary gains

The Indonesian top Islamic authority has called on a man named “Tuhan” – or God in English – to change his name or have his access to public services denied, local media reported Tuesday.
Tuhan, who is said to be a 42-year-old carpenter, has become a focus of public attention in the country over the past week after a copy of his identity card showing his single name spread over the Internet.
The council’s chairman, Abdusshomad Bukhori, said that the man, as a follower of God, “violates (religious) ethics” by using the name and should either change it or add something before or after it.
He gave the example of the name of “Ghofur,” which means “God, the Merciful,” but is typically is preceded by the name “Abdul,” making it mean “follower of God, the Merciful.”
Abdusshomad has even requested the Civil Registry Office to annul Tuhan’s identity card to prevent him from temporarily gaining access to any public services until he changes his name.
Tuhan himself said he does not know why his parents gave him the name, but he had not felt uncomfortable using it.

There was much misunderstanding in the Ijora Badia area of Lagos State when a two year old boy, Ibrahim, died after eating a plate of rice suspected to have been poisoned. It was learnt that the food was prepared by his mother, Fatimoh Azeez.
Fatimoh, however, said the food was eaten by other members of her family who were not hurt, adding that she suspected that one of her sisters-in-law, Fatimoh Rasaki, who had visited her on the day of the incident, had a hand in the death of the child.
It was gathered by PUNCH that Fatimoh used to visit her boyfriend, Isa, regularly in his parents’ apartment on Olajide Street in the Ijora community.
She was said to have become pregnant for him and was later delivered of the boy. The lovebirds were reportedly cohabiting in the house when Fatimoh’s parents took her and the baby away to their house on Akosile Street. Isa was reportedly allowed to visit both mother and child.
PUNCH Metro learnt that on one of such visits, Isa had a disagreement with his mother-in-law, which escalated into a fight with his girlfriend. Fatimoh’s family reportedly stopped him from visiting the child.
His sisters, Fatimoh Rasaki and Latifah Musbau, both married with children, were said to be visiting Fatimoh’s family on the fateful Sunday to mediate in the couple’s dispute, when the child died.
Fatimoh, in her statement to the police, said she was washing some clothes at the back of the house when she saw Rasaki spoon-feeding her child, which made her upset because she feared he could be poisoned.
She said:
“After I gave birth to my child, my husband’s people started maltreating me and sent me out of the house. I decided to stay with my parents.
“On August 16, around 11am, I was washing clothes when I saw my two sisters-in-law coming into the house to meet my parents.
“I saw as Fatimoh (Rasaki) carried my child and began to feed him with rice. I quickly rushed there and grabbed him from her and strapped him to my back.
“After some time, I put him on the bed. Suddenly, he started shaking uncontrollably. I rushed him to a hospital, where the doctor said he had died.
“I was the one who prepared the rice and it was eaten by all members of my family.”
It was also learnt that the two sisters-in-law, upon hearing the news, rushed to the house. They were said to have been arrested by the policemen from the Ijora Badia division, before the case was transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.
Musbau, a tailor, however, denied having anything to do with the death of the child.She said the visit was at the instance of their late father, who pleaded with them to resolve the dispute between the two families.
She said:
“It was when Fatimoh became pregnant that we knew she and Isa had been dating.
“She stayed with my mother and gave birth to the child, before her parents took her away.
“After that, Isa started going to visit the boy. But one day, he had a disagreement with his mother-in-law. His girlfriend also started harassing him anywhere she spotted him. We warned him to stop visiting them. And he stopped.”
Rasaki told the publication that they decided to go for a truce visitation on the fateful Sunday. She said:
“When we arrived at Fatimoh’s parents’ house, it was only her mother that was around. We also saw three kids eating rice in different plates. We did not know which of them Ibrahim was.
“Her mother started abusing us, saying she would deal with us for all we made her daughter go through.
“She was still talking when her daughter suddenly barged into the room, carried the child and strapped her to her back. She then stormed out of the room.
“Later, her father arrived and we broke the news of our father’s death to him. He condoled with us and said the dispute would soon be settled.”
She said later, Fatimoh’s mother came and broke the news of the child’s death to them.
“She said the boy had died and left the house without saying another word. We all rushed to their house and saw the corpse of the boy. It was while condoling with the family that the police came and arrested us,”
she added.
A police source said the police were investigating a possible case of food poisoning.
“It is still not clear what killed the child. But we are suspecting food poisoning. The remaining food eaten by the boy has already been packed for a test and we are awaiting the autopsy report. Once there is a problem with the food, the women will have a case to answer,” he said.

A 42 year old traveller from Nigeria was apprehended at the Hong Kong International Airport with 15kg of suspected ivory products which were allegedly stashed inside the pockets of a tailor-made vest.
He arrived in the city from Abuja, Nigeria, via Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, on Monday morning.
“During customs clearance, customs officers found about 15kg of suspected ivory pieces and products concealed in a tailor-made vest inside his hand baggage,” the Customs and Excise Department said.
“The haul was estimated to be worth HK$150,000 in Hong Kong and the man may face prosecution for importing an endangered species”, the department said.
It was the third seizure by customs officers at the airport in a month. On August 7, an 18-year-old man arriving from Harare, Zimbabwe, was arrested with 15kg of ivory products.
On July 27, officers caught a 27-year-old man who had arrived from Lagos, Nigeria, and seized HK$150,000 worth of ivory tusks and ivory products. He was convicted of importing an endangered species and fined HK$62,000.
The Chief Matron of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs. Caroline Oriola, was reportedly discovered dead in her office at the Assembly premises on 24th of August, 2015, Monday morning.
Oriola had reportedly gone to the office on Saturday but did not return home. Her dead body was discovered on the Monday morning by a cleaner, who had gone to clean the clinic before the the resumption of work.
It was gathered from some staff that the Chief Matron had gone to her office on that Saturday to pick some drugs. She allegedly drove her car to the Assembly complex, parked at the lawmakers’ car park, before proceeding to her office.
She was also said to have put on the air conditioner in her office and backed the door. Security men on duty at the weekend were oblivious of the incident even though the woman signed in before she picked the keys to the clinic being a weekend.
Her colleagues and other staff of the Assembly have expressed shock at the incident with many describing her as a very good woman who never took the health of others lightly.
One of the staff who refused to mention his name said:
“It is indeed a sad news, nobody expected that she would die, when she did.
“We were told that she was in the clinic to pick some drugs only for her dead body to be found on the floor by a cleaner,”
It was learnt that Oriola’s husband, who had waited endlessly for her to return home, had gone to check for her at the Assembly.
However, her husband was said to have returned when he could not find her car at the general car park as she was supposed to have done.
The body of the deceased has been conveyed to the morgue using the Assembly ambulance.
It was accompanied by some staff of the House led by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Segun Abiru.

The Atlanta man who was shot when his home was invaded just as he and his wife had returned from a vacation said he remembers praying out loud, telling God he expected to meet him that day.
Mike Lash said he prayed.
“Lord, this is, I guess, the moment I will meet you today … if it is not your will, I am ready to stay,” he said.
Lash and his wife, Whitney, and their two children had just come home from vacation on August 16 when there was a knock at their door.
