Reports have it that the Office of The independent National Electoral Comission at Obingwa Local Government of Abia State was razed today August 2nd, 2015 by some hoodlums.
Residents of the community claim the fire outbreak had a thing or 2 to do with politics as suspected political thugs armed with knives, cutlasses and guns stormed the Local Government before setting the Electoral office ablaze.
This action comes ahead of the August 10th date fixed for the commencement of the state election tribunal. Results from the local government is among many issues that is strongly being contested.
Armed Robbers struck a wedding rain yesterday at Mgbuishii, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, killing the Video Camera Man and injuring many others including the Wedding Photographer.
Reports by Vanguard state that the newly married couple had just finished exchanging their wedding vows at the Chimezie Catholic Parist, Mgbuishii, Imo State and were heading to the venue for the reception when the armed men struck.
A villager, who spoke on condition of anonymity gave the name of the dead video camera man as Mr. Isaac Ezirim, while the wounded photographer is Mr. Julius Ashigbu.
“The hoodlums first attacked the vehicle conveying the bride and groom. Although the bullets hit the video camera man and the photographer, the driver of the vehicle sped off. The hoodlums robbed the friends and relations of the couple of cash and other personal valuables, including telephone handsets.” – the villager said

Police detectives, at the weekend, swooped on a suspected baby factory in Asaba, Delta State, and arrested the operator and eight pregnant girls, according to Vanguard.
In addition, a surveillance patrol team attached to the Ozoro Police Division, in the state, apprehended a pastor and a 14-year-old girl at a cemetery in the town around 10.30 pm.
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, said, “On 30/7/2015 at about 2038hrs, Police detectives from GRA Division Asaba, while acting on a tip off raided a suspected baby factory at opposite Federal Radio Corporation, Asaba and arrested its operator, one John Mary Ihezun ‘m’.
‘Eight pregnant girls, namely:
(1) Ihezue Nkemjika
(2) Amaka Agu
(3) Isioma Anukwu
(4) Blessing Okafor
(5) Imezoma Okeke
(6) Chioma Oje
(7) Precious Ihemine
(8) Nzube Chukwu, and two boys, one Prince Chukwu and Obum Nwankwo were also arrested from the said baby factory.
Meanwhile, investigation is in progress.” In a related development, she said, “On 30/7/2015 at about 2230hrs, surveillance patrol team from Ozoro Division while on routine patrol arrested one pastor of Christ Freedom Family, Amazing Grace, Ozoro, in a cemetery at Ozoro with one Chioma (f), aged 14 years.
“The suspect claimed that he was performing spiritual healing on the said Chioma to enable her attain academic prowess. Investigation is ongoing,” she added.

A 32 year old Nigerian man, Amatari Christmas, has reportedly taken his own life in Bayelsa State after he found out that that his wife was allegedly cheating on him.
Punch reports that the deceased allegedly took his life by consuming a insecticide known as ‘sniper’ when he found out that his wife, was allegedly having an illicit affair with an unnamed young man from Kolo area of the state.
It was learnt that the incident, which occurred on Wednesday, made the indigenes of Kolo community angry. Some of the kinsmen of the deceased also vowed to deal with the woman and her lover said to be a cult member and indigene of Ayama.
A man from the deceased’s community, who identified himself as Francis, said Christmas, upon learning of his wife’s infidelity, chose to keep a close watch on her activities in the community.
He said,
“On Monday, the deceased went to harvest vegetable leaves in large quantity for sale for his wife. After the vegetable harvest, Christmas told his wife to return home after the market sale in order to cook meal for the family.
“But Chrismas became worried and suspicious around 7pm on the fateful day when his wife did not return home as instructed.He went in search of her at the in-law’s house. At the mother-in-law’s house, he was told she had gone to the father’s place in Ayama community. At the Ayama community, a concerned friend took him to the home of his wife’s lover where he discovered the lovers in bed.”
It was further learnt that the wife’s lover, threatened to deal with Christmas.
“But when the distraught husband sensed that he might be attacked by his wife’s lover, he decided to run into another building for safety.
“After the deceased discovered that it was safe for him, he left for home and ended his life by swallowing insecticide. He locked out the kids and killed himself.”

Head of States, President Muhammed Buhari has promised Nigerians that he will get rid of the Boko Haram insurgents before the end of the year.

“And I assure you that we will defeat Boko Haram by the end of this year”. “I am impressed by your concern and critical approaches by increasing your contributions to the multinational task force of the Lake Chad Commission.
